There was a dead roach in the bathroom. Oh, and my personal belongings got stolen. Can't get a refund on the room and refuse to stay at the sister location NEXT DOOR they offered.

Sandi at the desk was very friendly and responsive to any problems we had!

Dirty room, dirty sheets. Found socks, hair, and crumbs in my sheets. Stained pillows and mattress. Room was over $300 for the night. Had to go down and get new sheets since they had no more rooms. Peeling wall paper. Dirty looking showers.

First Lady acted like she didn’t know what she was doing at check in with our change from payment.
The room was NOT VERY CLEAN! Particles like food or somethings on couch, MOLD IN SMALL REFRIGERATOR, bathroom needed a good cleanup all over it, was told AT CHECK IN THAT BREAKFAST WAS FROM THIS TIME TO THIS TIME, and husband went to get breakfast and there was ANYTHING. They kitchen area was closed and blocked off. So they went in kitchen and came back with two small brown bags with snacks that we dont eat. My husband especially does not eat cold biscuits with cold sausage patty on it. A tiny juice box, granola bar we don’t eat. Yes to say the least. We were pretty aggravated about that! Along with the unclean room. Oh! And don’t forget the printed out page that tell us they aren’t doing a whole room cleaning because of covid. That’s pretty sad there. Just the opposite!
We were there to try and enjoy a short stay for our 32nd anniversary. Thankfully I bring my Lysol on every trip. We will not use this hotel again.
And not so friendly employees at the front check in. This was for MAY 26, 27th and left on the 28th. If we could’ve got a refund we would have sent some where cleaner.
We chose here because we stayed here before and it was clean and nice but NOT AGAIN THERE!

Please consider this a public service announcement. The galveston authorities had to be called. Thankfully no one was detained, but in this day and age, it very well could end that way. I was supposed to be a guest at this Comfort Suites on Sat. 2/6/21. Instead, I am writing this WARNING due to the events that took place which ultimately resulted in (1) my and my boyfriend’s SEPARATE accounts having holds placed for $135.87, (2) my CONFIRMED hotel room being voided by one of… Weiterlesen.

Been here 3 time now the rooms are great and close to the fishing pier and great customer service.

Rusted tub!
Self service in towels!
They do not offer free breakfast as they promise In their advertisements!
They allow underage drinking In rooms!
Ac doesn’t work!
Roaches!

Everything people were respctful. Asked for channel change was very nice. Excellant coffee great breakfast… cudos to the employees…

This place is a joke! Don’t waste your time even thinking about staying here! We checked in and asked if the hottub worked and the woman said “idk, people always ask me that” and walked away. Our balcony would not lock at all and I felt uncomfortable all night because of that. The shower was rusty, and the bathroom all around just looked gross. I left my pillow on the bed and called the same night and was told it wasn’t in lost and found but she would get with the head housekeeper and call me back. I called three times over a period of the next day and never got a call back (the manager had absolutely no intentions on calling me) so we drove back to the hotel and was told “O yeah it was never found so it’s not here” Ok cool. Except I 100% know I left it! The manager argued with me and made me feel like I was crazy. I told her I don’t care if they threw it away just tell me so I can go find it! I explained the pillow has sentimental value and I was really upset I left it. She said it’s policy if something is found in the room it gets brought to lost and found and logged in the binder. Well it didn’t and she argued with me and all the house keepers said they didn’t see it. So I go around back of the hotel and what do you know my pillow was in a trash bag along with the rest of the trash from our room in the dumpster! Dishonest, unprofessional, and a few other things I won’t put on here. Like I said don’t waste your time or money here!

GROSS!
Cockroaches on the beds, climbing up the walls, and in the entire room. Dirty sheets and blankets. I didn’t get much sleep making sure bugs were t on my kids.

Not clean rooms and has roaches.

Paid an arm and a leg for 3 nights, and I'm having to do all the cleaning and making beds, putting trash bags on the trash cans, can't even put a pillowcase on the pillow the correct way. This place is pure trash. Not worth half the price we were charged. Never ever again.

Good:
— clean room.
— satisfying breakfast.
— fast check in/out.
— hot water.
— close to the beach.
Bad:
— Lack of Wi-Fi.
— basic cable.
— calcified balcony door — a.
— a/c doesn’t cool to correct I Temperature.

Internet never works. They are trying to save money.

Great place great Staff rooms are great.

We had a great stay before being shuttled to cruise terminal. The front desk, Jess, was amazing! Breakfast was hot and fresh. Very clean and comfortable!

Great place to stay when getting ready to board a Cruise Ship.

This hotel is much better than the beachfront one closer to Pleasure Pier! Rooms were nicer and there was no dampness. Staff was super nice. The shower was a little dirty, but everything else in the room was great. I would stay here again.

Great location and facility! Our room was quite spacious and clean, and we were directly across the street from the beach. My only complaint was that I reserved this room on line, and then was told that I had to swipe my card again when I arrived by the young lady at the check in desk. This was my first time ever having to do this at any hotel I've stayed.

Nice hotel and close to the beach. Prices were fair for the room. No complaints. If you are a beach bum and just want a place to sleep on your vacation this place is great. Kids love the free breakfast. Rooms have ocean views that are good at night.

Okay hotel for the price. Staff are friendly, complimentary breakfast with room. Moderately up to date. Showers aren't the greatest and the lock on our door was hard to open. Pool is clean and the bed are comfortable.

I recently stayed at comfort suites in Galveston, TX. The receptionist named Jess openly accepted my request to check in early. The receptionist asked if I had any request. The only other request I had was to have a room facing the ocean. She met both my request without hesitation.

One of the WORST Hotels I've ever come across. The service is just so bad, the breakfast is so gross, it was fresh blood spots on my sheets, and not to mention when I told the Hotel Manager Ashleigh she blamed it on me & called me the N***** word. I made a report but never got handled. All around poor service for the prices they have. My best advice is to get ANY other Hotel in Galveston besides this 1.

We got there and I wanted to use my AARP Discount, but because I reserved the room through a 3rd party it made it difficult to add the discount, so they upgraded me to a room with a balcony overlooking the Galveston beach and the sea. Very nice and we were in walking distance to the beach.

First of all, I must say that my first point of contact (which sets the tone for the entire stay) was a very pleasant one. Rubie, was very accommodating, sweet, funny and worked to find me the best room for my husband and Bleu my service dog. Then when we checked in, another excellent customer service experience, sweet Daniesha was there to greet us with warm cookies and a genuine smile. I haven't even stayed an entire night and I'm loving it here. Stay tuned… I will let you know how the rest of our stay goes. So far the two employees, I mentioned need a raise or a bonus. As I am level 7 trip advisor and I am about to spread the word on this jewel of a Comfort Suites in Galveston Island. Keep up the good work ladies, it is being noticed!

Good service, very hospitables.

Only negative is the so called balcony ocean view I paid 165.00 was not a view at all and a big waste of money ugh. BUT the front office staff day and night crew were very friendly and accommodating. I booked the room for an overnight stay before our cruise, the price was even using my AARP. Breakfast was great, room not bad just overpriced but the best part was Dennis. If your cruising they let you park your car there for 20.00 a person and take you to and from the ship. Dennis dropped us off at our ship, gave us his card and told us to call him when we cleared customs and he would pick us at a prearranged destination. We called and he got there pretty quick and drove us to our car which was safe and sound. Dennis is great! Good customer service and all around nice guy with a wealth of information about the island and cruising in general. Although I will not book the same room I will stay there again for my future cruise. Park and ride is SO worth it, the front desk staff are very nice and of course Dennis rocks.

We will never stay at the hotel again… 1st they charged my card over $900 for $562 room! We had to have a release of funds paper work faxed to our bank. Then our neighbor complained on us for feeding the birds the lady at the front desk called An said it was not allowed to feed the birds, later I called back an asked why since my husband bought chips from the desk to feed the birds. She told me she’s to busy to talk to me An hung up the phone. The following day I talked to the general manager Ashely an she said that she saw no problem with feeding the birds. Then to top it all off WE FOUND A DRUG BAG IN OUR ROOM An they did NOTHING about I called the police an made a statement! The dispatcher said they would send a officer out an the officer came An didn’t even come speak with me or my husband! Also when my husband asked the cleaning ladies if she wanted our dirty towels she no that’s okay. An our smoke detector was wrapped in in trash bag! An when we first got to our room I killed a roach by the jucazzi I told my husband to let the from desk know especially as we was checking in we saw the exterminator company here but my husband said if we see another one will let them know.

We had a great stay. Jess, who worked the front desk was amazing. She was so attentive & polite. Despite working a full day, she was still just as sweet & kind at 10pm as she was at 8am. We will stay there again because of the customer service we received from Jess. Thanks Jess!

Got to hotel at 7pm and was told our room wasn’t ready—to come back in 20 minutes. We were escorted to the bar to wait for our room until it was ready. We left and got dinner and were told I would receive a phone call when the room was ready. Never received a phone call. Got back to the hotel at about 8pm and was told our room was ready. Got to the room and it smells moldy. Unfolded the sofa bed and there were no sheets on it. I check the closet for extra sheets and pillows, none were to be found. I then went to the desk and was told it would be an hour before I could get a set of linens. Jessica was very kind and apologetic throughout the night, but I draw the line when linens aren’t available so my children can go to sleep. Will never stay at at Comfort Suites again.

Room was clean but they forgot the tub! It had like 5 different rings in the tub. I called front desk for it to be clean. Or Give me some cleaner an I'll do it then you can give me a discount. "Front desk. I can't do that clean crew and manager that can is not in. " Advise check bathtub as soon as you get in room! NASTY!

The front desk girl was very rude at check in. She seemed annoyed that I asked why room was already charged 2 days before when I chose the pay at the hotel option. We then realized our room did not have a balcony and called front desk to ask if there was a room with balcony available. Before I could get a word in she put me on hold for 10 minutes. We then went downstairs to ask her in person and we started to ask if there was a room with a balcony availbale, she didn’t even ask what room we were in or what kind of room we were in. She just cut my husband off and replied “that’s all I have”. The safe in our room also wasn’t bolted down. We did not feel comfortable leaving our valuables in the room while we tried to enjoy our vacation with our kids because anyone can walk in and take the safe. We booked for a 5 guest stay and were provided 3 towels. When we called front desk to ask for more they said we needed to go downstairs to get them. Later when getting the kids ready for bed, we discovered there were no sheets, blankets or extra pillows for the pull out sofa. We called the front desk again. It rang with no answer until it stopped ringing. Tried back again, same result, no answer. My husband went downstairs to ask for blankets. He was ringing the bell for a while. The front desk wasn’t even there. When she did come to the front she told him they didn’t have any clean laundry. We are very disappointed with our choice of hotel for our weekend stay.

We had very good time with reasonable price. The staff members are dedicated to keep the place nice and clean. They made our stay outstanding. We got a very clean room with ocean view. The room was excellent. I will recommend this hotel.

5 stars! I walk up to the front desk to check in. I look worse for wear. And who greats me… a radiantly smiling Jess. As she was checking me in, she asked how my trip was. Ya know what, she genuinely cared. She would have listened to me till the cows came home. She was kind to each person that entered. She was patient with people on the phone while juggling the front desk, and the concession area. Thank you JESS ❤

Great people work there. Beds way above average. Love their pillows. Breakfast better than most.

Nicely appointed rooms at reasonable rates with wonderful view of the gulf. Nice friendly staff and adequate free continental breakfast. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing.

Nice hotel and super friendly staff. Great location for Moody Gardens and the sea wall. Breakfast not so good. Definitely need to step up the breakfast game and this would be a perfect place to stay. One of a few Comfort Suites to have a bar. Do not get too excited just yet. Just limited beer and wine selection. Overall worth the stay for price and location.

Update : 10/21 2:45 pm — now the owner is refusing to take the blame. He’s saying that the person in the room above me is to blame so he wont reimburse me until he gets paid from that guy. We booked 2 rooms at the Comfort Suites on 89th Street in Galveston, Texas, to stay in for the night before our cruise. We planned to sleep until 8:00 and then eat breakfast at the hotel before heading over to the port to begin our cruise. The staff was very friendly and hardworking. Our complaint has nothing at all to do with the front desk staff and assistant manager that we interacted with. In fact, they should be applauded for the way that they handled themselves under pressure. The room was very clean and comfortable. That is until the next morning at 5:30 am when the room above us flooded through the ceiling. Apparently the toilet overflowed and ran all night long. My toiletries and make up bags were completely soaked and ruined. The front desk woman called in for reinforcements and the assistant manager arrived to help her clean up. They were both working hard to get the rooms cleaned up so they weren’t able to get breakfast started until well after the scheduled time, so we went to McDonalds instead of waiting. When I realized that my toiletries and makeup were ruined I immediately let them know. They weren’t able to reimburse me for this without the owner’s approval and they told me to call once we got back from our trip.

It's a nice Comfort Suites. They offer a shuttle service to the cruise terminal. The night before a cruise ship leaves they are very busy. That meant that the Young lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was working very hard, but struggling to keep up. They have an interesting policy of only changing towels and sheets every three days unless requested otherwise. The room was very nice. The dunes block the view of the beach, but the beach is right there. On the back side you can see the city, a small, quiet airport, and the bay. Our bathroom had no toilet paper holder, which I found odd. I would stay here again without hesitation.

It was ok. Service was good but didn't change out sheets and trash, only every other day. One of the power outlets doesn't work.

We were blown away by our room and experience. The Jacuzzi tub in the room was a huge hit and very large. My only complaint was we couldn't get up to the breakfast at all. There was no seating and a line so long we couldn't get anything in time.

I booked this hotel by accident thinking I was booking Comfort Inn and suites with the indoor pool. While this property does not have an indoor pool I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the hotel was-from check-in to cleanliness of the room to the outdoor pool and hot tub. My favorite part was the small kiddie pool attached to the main pool where my toddler could sit and splash in the water. The elevators were fast and the room was comfortable when we walked in (not warm or stuffy like most places) While they do offer free breakfast the cutoff time is 9:30 even on weekends. Which makes eating breakfast difficult when the hotel is fully booked-who wants to wake up early on the weekends just to eat breakfast? We went down at 8:45 and tables were full and there was a long line for food/juice. We checked again a few minutes later and still no change so we gave up. I am so pleased with our stay this will probably become our hotel of choice when coming to town. My only suggestion would be to consider offering later breakfast hours on weekends otherwise it was perfect for us!

We had a very nice, clean hotel. Thankfully, no bugs! I would give this hotel five stars but housekeeping kept opening our door in the mornings while we were still asleep. We stayed for five days and everyone was friendly, accommodating and smiling. They just need better communication with their housekeepers. :/

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Had a problem with our air conditioner but was handled immediately and we were moved to another room. The breakfast bar is too small for the amount of people trying use it so have a plan B! I recommend Mel's Diner! (Close to downtown)

Very nice staff, the breakfast had plenty of options and the ladies kept everything full. Sandra is the nicest housekeeper, she made sure we had clean towels everyday. I usually tell them to just bring towels and get the trash if we stay more days. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hotel was in the middle of recarpeting but that did not affect the quality of the stay. Provided all basic services, including complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast. Wonderful view from the balcony. All in all a great place to stay.

Comfort? Really? When you use this word in the hospitality industry it involves not only good beds and pillows, but also cleanliness and good management. I'm in the business and understand management problems and I am more concious with my colleagues, but this is not the case and that's why I only give you this low rate because of the mediocre cleanliness and management.

We had a good first impression the first day we arrived, but then the following day we didn't have clean towels, we had to call front desk to get those, which I'm assuming that was only a mistake, not a big deal, but the next day after we spend the whole day outside, we return exhausted ready to take a shower and sleep and we find that we not only have no clean towels, but our room was not clean, beds not made, etc… One of the reasons you book a hotel is because you are supposed to have a clean bedroom with clean towels including, but not in this case, so I call the front desk again, and he called the manager who was off, saying she will talk to me the next day but she never came and the lady at front desk offered me a 10% discount for the inconvenience which I really find ridiculous, I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMFORT SUITES at least at this location because of the lack of CLEANLINESS and POOR MANAGEMENT.

We had planned on staying here the night before leaving on a cruise. When we arrived in Galveston my boyfriend wasn't feeling well so I took him to Urgent Care from there to the hospital for a 5 day stay. We missed our cruise but when I ask the hotel if I can keep my room for the week it was no problem. The staff were all so kind knowing I was in a strange town alone while my boyfriend was in the hospital. They housekeeping staff kept my room clean and always provided me with clean towels. Christine is who I dealt with the most and I absolutely loved her, but the whole staff was very professional and helpful. We hope to plan another cruise in the future and we will definitely be calling to make reservations here again.

I stayed at the comfort suites in Galveston. The rooms were clean and the staff were super friendly. There were some issues with kids running through the halls, yelling and cussing. But it was handled very well.

We've stayed here twice. Staff is wonderful. Delayed cruise departure because of fog, staff couldn't have been nicer. Allowed us to stay in our room and alerted us with port updates. Shuttle driver is great! Beds are comfortable but I agree with the criticism that it's not as clean as it could be. It probably needs an overall update, including carpet!

Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Nice gym. Amazing breakfast, and the view off the balcony is amazing.
