By far much nicer, cleaner, and safer as from prior ownership and reputation of this motel/hotel years back. Overall it's got a beautiful pool area and barbeque area for it's guest.

We only needed a room for the night. No bells & whistles but the room was clean, bed comfy, no bugs & they had a pool. Customer service was great. Will probably be our go to hotel when we visit Padre because its reasonable and has all that we need.

Great cozy room. Beautify put together and perfect for a couple on a weekend getaway. Our room facing the bay was a great view in the morning. Few blocks from Pirate's Landing fishing pier. We're already planning our next trip… :)

Basic and very clean and comfortable hotel accommodations that is also pet friendly. Centrally located in historic Port Isabel and is within walking distance of all of the historic attractions include the newly renovated light house.

Loved staying at this hotel. It is right across the street from the water, only a few miles from South Padre, dog friendly, and has a great pool. Highly recommended!

My husband frequently stays at he SouthWind Inn and it’s quite nice for the price. Owners are nice people. However while the owners are out of town, stay clear. Workers don’t answer the phone, they’ll hang up right in your face. Front desk offered a room near the stairs and I simply asked for a room far from the noise. He accused me of playing games and refused to book a room for me. Claiming no vacancy.

Close to the water, close to the main areas of interest, and the owners are fabulous people!

The management is great the pool is great The Neighbors in the area or great I just love this place I feel real safe and comfortable here it's a place I like to call home it's close to the island there's just a lot of real nice people around here real friendly I recommend it highly.

My favorite place to stay in Port Isabel. This charming Inn is located near the bay with a gorgeous view of The Queen Isabella and South Padre Island. On Thursday — Saturday you can view the fireworks display at 9:15 pm. There is also a refreshing pool along with a gas grill on property for guests surrounded by South Texas tropical landscaping. Rooms are affordable and decorated in island style decor. Very clean and they all come with a nice size kitchenette. The staff is wonderful, I cannot say or brag enough about this cozy Inn located on the coast of South Texas. You won't be disappointed.

Booked southwind hotel at port isabel for a fun weekend beach getaway at south padre island 7/7/17-7/9/17 here cus reviews were good when I got there old man at front desk was extremely rude… then literally acoss the street maybe 5 steps from my hotel door is a large cemetery really freaked me out also beds are crazy small it only fit my 6 yr old daughter… I checked out 30 mins after I checked in cus man was rude and the cemetery freaked me out but casa rosa motel had a room available so I ended up checking in and stayed there was very nice price was very affordable staff super nice had a great vacation after the hotel mess if u want a nice affordable motel thats priced right go to casa rosa motel port isabel hope this helps you everything ive stated is 100% true really happened and I hope this helps u not make the mistake I did thank u god bless.

My family and I enjoyed ourselves this was our first time staying here everyone was so nice my boys enjoyed meeting Fred this will not be last time we plan to start staying here every year. The rooms are nice there is so much beautiful scenery everywhere best part my kids could see the fireworks from the island thank you southwind.

I was there for about 2 weeks and enjoyed my stay very much. The owners are great people, friendly and accommodating. My room had a king bed and small kitchenette which came in handy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay.

Charming spot in a beautiful quaint town. Clean comfortable efficiency units and grounds with great proprietors and nice staff. We found this gem by chance this year. Will be returning by design next year.

Was such a great place to relax. The staff and the owners are way beyond friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax by the ocean.

Phenomenal owners and staff. The Inn is always immaculately kept, great quiet rooms, close to everything and a bargain. Excellent place to stay and well equipped with everything you need.

We arrived in the evening. Honestly was more than what I expected. It was such a hot day, and AAAAHHHH — opening that door to a cool room. The paint and decor is a bit tacky, but that's not reason you're gonna pick this place. Here's why you should stay. — Good prices — Clean — Free parking — Small fridge with freezer — not those puny little ones that other places have. — Separate small kitchen sink — LIGHTED ceiling fan! Not a dim, lamp-lit room. — Electric heating elements — you can cook simple things here; just bring your own pots, pats, cooking utensils and food. — Outdoor pool — Super nice owners I wouldn't say these affected my stay, but they may affect another's finicky taste: — The front of the Inn faces a cemetery, which wasn't creepy at all, thank goodness. — No veil or curtain on window. (There are sliding sun shades, though). — No traditional daily room service. Just don't be a slob, and you'll be fine.

Like always, great rates and clean comfortable rooms. Always our first choice to stay in when we visit the island!

It was very clean with obvious extra effort for the price. Little touches. If you're looking for a Hilton, go to Hilton. If you just want a clean, safe place, go here. The owners and workers are so sweet and polite. I'll stay here every time I come through. Very close to the Dorothy House and the Pancake House, which has yummy pancakes.

I was very impressed with how clean and nicely decorated the room was, especially considering the price. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The view was beautiful and the location was great. The pool was much deeper than most, and noodles and floats were available to use. The room itself had a king sized bed and a love seat. The kitchen area had a small refrigerator (small, not mini), a sink, a coffee maker, and a hot plate, though it had limited counter space. A table and stools was stowed away for eating in the room. I highly recommend this place for an affordable and comfortable vacation.

We enjoyed this hotel every summer. We like to stay one or two nights. Also the swimming pool is very nice.

We stayed only one night but we enjoyed the room they have us. We were mostly outside the room except for when it came to bed time. The room was clean. The staff was nice. Decently priced and I really enjoyed staying on port Isabel instead of the island we got to check out some places we would normally missed. Great place overall.
