We’ve been burning the candle at both ends all summer! Yesterday, hubby says pack a bag and surprised me with an overnight stay at the most amazing bed and breakfast not far from home in Arlington, The Thornton Inn! The owner and attendant are absolutely wonderful! We even checked out her Airbnb, The Lonestar House just down the road which is so cute! From relaxing on the wrap around porch to to the amazing breakfast we learned about the history of this former fraternity house built in 1902 with now a historical designation. We fell in love with the owner, Susy and her attendant, Louise,! We had an AMAZING experience! 5 STARS!

The property is awesome, modern, very clean. The whole house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the breakfast table was gorgeous and set w holiday place settings! Such attention to details! The breakfast itself was fantastic and made to our order with fresh coffee and squeezed juice and fruit! But, the best part for us was connecting with another Helluva Engineer from Mines in Terry and his wife Sunny! We’ll def be back!

My grandson and I made a road trip through Texas. We made an overnight stop in Arlington and stayed at this wonderful Bed and Breakfast. Clean, welcoming, history with well done updates and remodel which kept the character and charm… breakfast could not have been better. I high suggest you stay here if you are looking for a memory verses just a bed.

I worked with Carrie on hosting our Annual Family Girls Day Out event "Brunch & Show" — at this beautiful B&B. Carrie was so great to work with. She was so patient with me and helped me in every aspect. Day of the event, was perfect! We didn't have to lift a finger. Carrie and Jennifer took care of Everything! The place settings, food displays, etc was Beautiful! It was more than I could imagine. Thank you so much to the Thornton Inn for accommodating all of us ladies and making us feel so Special. :) Can't wait to revisit!

Our hotel reservation got messed up and we started Googling for an alternative at 7 AM on a Wednesday. Every hotel was completely inhospitable and would not help us. We called Thornton and Terry, the owner, like a knight in shining armour had a room for us and it turned out to be far better than any commercial hotel. He and his wife are darling and it is a lovely, quaint place to stay. I would recommend to any weary traveler wanting to feel at home.

Two of the best owners I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The room was huge yet intimate and cozy. The morning breakfast was an amazing corse of California style breakfast tacos and the owner was willing to accommodate any dietary restrictions if we had any. Me and my wife are making this B&B our anniversary tradition.

Over priced but amazing! Should stay there at least for a night to unwind and enjoy the weather and view. The drinks — alcoholic, hot and cold, are all included in the bill. It is quiet and beautiful and the hosts are amazing and very helpful.

Very boutique. Quaint until the Cowboys game ended and folks returned to their quarters. Paper thin walls. Left the place, needed to sleep.

Very clean, but could hear the people in the next room and the traffic.

Terry and Sunny are absolutely amazing. These two will treat you like family or long time friends coming to town for a visit. Next time I'm In Texas I will be staying here!

Great value! Very home-like atmosphere, yet maintains professionalism as well. The innkeepers are sweet couple who live in another building on property. Upon check-in, you get physical keys (one to a shared back door and one to your room) and access to mini fridges filled with soda, water, beer, and wine. In the upstairs common area is a Keurig station with coffee, tea, and cocoa. The rooms are upscale (lots of hardwood), fully updated, and clean. There were robes in the closet and full-sized toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash in the bathroom. The bed was super comfortable. Having plenty of off-street parking was a great amenity in such a busy part of town. Easy walking distance to the University of Texas at Arlington, and a short drive to the stadiums. Breakfast is included and was delicious. Coffee, juice, fresh fruit, bacon, and homemade breakfast casserole was served family style at a table set for six. They will cater to any special dietary needs as requested! 10% discount for active duty or retired military (with military ID) if you purchase on their website! We will definitely be back!

I loved it. I called booked a room with two beds. Very clean and welcoming. Terri has a goofy sense of humor that I loved! He gave us brief background of the inn, restrooms are clean and beds are so comfortable. They were so sweet and provided me with a to go yogurt as I was rushing out the door for graduation. I highly recommend.

Used to be the Delta Upsilon Arlington Chapter house. Since it has been converted into one of the best bed and breakfasts I have been to. Friendly staff and a great location not to mention a beautiful home.

Last year we went to the Omni in downtown Fort Worth. The only things to recommend it were the restaurants and bars on the first floor and its location. The room and the service were no different from any hotel/motel at which I have ever stayed. This year, Tiffany did a last minute search for a place and happened upon the Thornton. This place is OUTSTANDING! Tiffany and I had such a great time celebrating our third anniversary in peace and quiet. They have home cooked breakfasts with real (not powdered) eggs (unlike the Omni or any other place at which I have stayed. ) The owners, Terry and Sunny, are fascinating and friendly hosts. We were only 20 minutes from home, but we felt like we were half way around the world, able to truly relax. We were there for a little over 36 hours, and I haven't felt that relaxed since our honeymoon, which was two weeks in Florida. Go see Terry and Sunny at the Thornton in Arlington. This is the best place I've ever stayed, bar none.

I found the Thornton Inn to be a PERFECT location! The house it's self is full of charm and offers all the comforts of home! The staff was a cut above what I've previously experienced and made my recent visit extremely enjoyable.

I found this recently opened B&B perfectly delightful. The owners, who were SUPER friendly, served up a plentiful and delicious breakfast. It looks like they spent a million bucks updating the century-old house, but in doing so, they maintained all the charm you'd expect (wooden floors, high ceilings, comfy bed, large bathrooms, etc. ) My only complaint is that none of the rooms has a bath tub. That said, it was certainly significantly nicer than any corporate chain hotel I've stayed in.
