The hotel staff were very unhelpful. First they weren't even at the front desk, then they got our reservations wrong. That meant it was about 30 minutes before we were in our room, which we had reserved a month ahead. Then on the second day the gave away one of our rooms which we had already paid for, and they blamed us again since they wanted us to "check in" for a room we had paid for two nights in advance. So it seems they don't honor reservations. According to other reviews the place also has bed bugs, stained linens, and outright thieves for employees. Would not recommend. Save your money and go anywhere else.

This is by far the WORST Red roof inn I’ve ever stayed at! The WORSE hotel I’ve ever even been or stayed at! There is trash literally everywhere around the hotel, when I left there was several bags of trash underneath the stairs, like the workers/owners was just to lazy to even walk it to the dumpster. We needed some ice and the manager came and told us that we could only have ONE bucket because they have a ice shortage, (mind you they locked the ice room door so you have to go to the front desk to even have them get you ONE bucket like you’re a damn kid). Then they have homeless people living right behind the hotel doing drugs and then the homeless people come swim in the pool! After I saw that I did NOT let my kids swim in that nasty pool! The owner of the hotel did not stop the homeless people or anything! This is absolutely the nastiest hotel EVER. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone! They need to be shut down and gone through a good inspection before opening their doors EVER again!

This place is the WORST! We had roaches and spiders staying with us during our stay. The room smelled of vomit. The air conditioner was stuck on high because we could find the cover or the buttons. We came home with red dots on our legs. BED BUGS! Called the manager, of course, she said nothing is wrong and needs to investigate "tomorrow". WOW! Oh and the pool hasn't been cleaned in a very long time.

Definitely not the nicest. When I came into my room it smelt like mildew (my room was across the pool). Not only did it smell like mildew but the next morning there was so many nats in the room due to the pool! This is an old motel trying to make its way to the hotel but if you can stay away. Unless you’re not picky about where you sleep at night but this will be my first and last time using this Red Roof.

Was an okay hotel for the price but front office does not know what’s going on. Called to change reservation days before and was assured that my change was made to add a day. Took my card information and everything. Employee put the 24th instead of 1st. Checked in assures again that it’s until 11am on the 1st. Come the 30th step out to lunch to be locked out of my room. Go to office to be told I passed the checkout time and needed to pay for another day. I was there 6 days, had a key problem 2x and confirmed that it was until 11am on the 1st. Had to hurriedly pack as they gave me 15mins to get my stuff. I understand there was a mistake but not on my part I just wanted to stay a few more hours to shower and pack neatly to ensure nothing was left behind. My flight left at 5am, I am 6 months pregnant and now have to rush and get everything ready, clean up and find a place to hole up at until my flight. The just refusal to be even slightly considerate when they made the mistake was appalling I didn’t try and stay another night just a reasonable time to get ready and packed.

I only went to drop someone off to work. I do know that they lost they're flags and can no longer use Red Roof Inn as their name. They also have a little motel directly in back of them. Same owners. Awful place. The Manager is horrible. She's terrible. It's a scene from an awful movie there.

Come here for grandson BMT Graduate. It is dirty, nasty, filthy… The building needs to be condemned. Mom's, Dad's, brothers, sisters and Grandparents and friends do not deserve this. not a place to bring your airman. Remember your AIRMAN has been on Base for 7 1/2 weeks. Your AIRMAN is ready to get off Base and hangout with family. This is not the place for him to be. Sad to say have to stop here. I had to take a shower. Grandson did not get out of vehicle scared he would get his blues dirty inside the room. 3/15/2018

It is a hotel that does not respect reservations made with months of anticipation.

Zero stars. Terrible. Filthy rooms and parking lot. No hot water. Had to change rooms because key cards did not work. Electrical other with no cover. Balcony sagging. Noisy all night, people outside arguing.
Really sad because several guests were there for their family's Air Force graduates. Not at all as advertised on Web page. Do NOT stay here.

The pictures look better than the hotel is. The lobby smelled like pee. The room smelt like vinyl chemical smell. That was after we got reassigned a room because ours was not ready. The clerk was very sweet when we arrived though. The breakfast is just waffles or cereal and apple or banana. They ran out of stuff sunday morning well before breakfast was over and showed no interest in refilling the coffee or milk. All that being said, the hotel was one of the cheapest in the area, which is why it gets 3 stars. While it could be cleaner for the price 3 stars.

Terrible. The first room we were given didn't have blankets or even sheets on the bed. Disinfectants and other cleaning supplies were on the bathroom counter so we assumed it hadn't been finished and went down and got another one. The second one, dear God. It smelled like smoke (cigarette) and urine. The floors hadn't been moped in ages, the sink drain was either rusted or dirty and the coffee machine was grimy. And there were dirty wet towels on the sink counter. We left. I know you get what you pay for, but honestly, this "inn" had all the makings of a "pay by the hour" motel.

Roaches, black mold, poor management… The owners wife is very rude and terribly judgemental as well as attempting to control others. Lack thereof service, cleanliness, hospitality, or courtesy.

I travel for a living and by far this is the worst motel I've stayed in in years… the room is filthy! Floors haven't been mopped in months… tub is peeling with paint from a renovation gone wrong… Tiny roaches everywhere! I'm not one to write reviews BUT after reading 5 star reviews for this motel we were mislead! I would expect this from a $40 "ROACH MOTEL" but not at 70/ 80 dollar one! Great location to downtown but tons of I'm sure better choices in the area! Love to blame bad staffing but the owner/ manager was at the front desk during the morning and left plates of half eaten food all over the dirty tables in the breakfast area! Trash over flowing everywhere in the parking lot! We've had great luck lately with Red Roof Inns but the franchise or corporate should pull the plug on this one! Tallk pride in ownership… it would go along way to improve this motel!

Lets make this short and brief. Just because I don't want to revisit this again! We were there for my son's Air Force Graduation and this place was suggested with the info that was given and it was one of the closest places near the base. Where do I begin? ROACHES! and they charged my cc and my husband card without our authorization and they asked for a $50 deposit! What hotel asks for a deposit when there is a cc on file? The weekend stay was totaled at $178.07 by the time they were finished charging both card the total was $438.12. This place needs to be shut down and the clerk that charged our card needs to be FIRED! I plead with whom ever is reading this, please don't stay there its not sanitary. Oh and 1 week later still having to call the hotel to remove charges!

DO NOT STAY HERE! I wish I could give zero stars! We went to check in and the front desk workers and hotel manager were extremely rude! I brushed that off and we went to our room and found at least 10 roaches all over the bathroom. I was disgusted so we went and asked for another room. We saw four other rooms with the same problem. One room had a scorpion in the toilet. Even one of the hotel workers suggested we find another place to stay! When we told the hotel manager about what we found she basically told us that she did not care and continues to get mad at us for not accepting to stay in those conditions. We finally moved over to la Quinta just down the street. La Quinta was clean and comfortable with a very friendly and helpful staff!

Although all the employees I was in contact with were very kind, my experience at this Red Roof Inn was not a good one. We had to change rooms 2 times in the first night. First room had tape holding the floor together, bathroom door didn't latch and shower didn't work. Second room was not ready for guests (no linens and beds were not made). Third room was okay except the TV did not work. After several tries, the young man from front desk was able to help get TV working but remote never did work. The breakfast choices were very limited. Only reason we stayed through the weekend was because we were unable to get a refund. Be sure to understand that you will need to pay a $50 deposit on your arrival and will only receive a "I'm sorry" for poor service.

For an older hotel the price matches the product. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. It's just an older hotel that needs upgrading. Overall not bad for $50.

Let me say that my stay here was a pleasant one! Roger along with his staff were very friendly and helpful in every way possible. On several occasions I noticed how Roger made sure that his staff maintained a clean environment they were always on the go doing something to better the hotel whether it was sweeping or dusting or something of that sort and we all no appearances do matter. On one occasion I even noticed some gentlemen just hanging around that were clearly not guest and he made sure that they left the premises in a professional manner which made my stay that much greater because I felt that me being a guest he cared about our safety my room was clean my linen was fresh breakfast wasn't bad! Prices were reasonable what more could you ask for?! I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks again to Rodger and his staff…

It's a two star motel, and that's what I expected. It was everything I could have asked for. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the water was hot with good pressure, and I spent little time there because I was in town for a music festival nearby. I give it a 4 just because the stairs seemed like they needed some maintenance and there were a couple 1-2 inch gaps in the floorboards of our room. That's all I can complain about. Also, the cleaning services were amazingly friendly and very helpful, I was very happy with the service they provided.

From the beginning my room was given away to another person which is fine but I was late but I was still charged on my card. When I spoke to the person in charged said I dnt believe you show me your bank statement. I continue to read the check in information from the person in my room, everything was my info. They only changed the address, my payment information and name were the same. And manager still didn't believe. After a long drive my kids and husband wanted to rest so we took another room. The rooms were dirty the blankets had stains and just super dirty. No toilet paper or towels. We have to keep going to the office and ask. Am never coming back here again.

Good place just needs a little more attention. Place is deteriorated and beds are stained. Overall it's a decent place for the money. Place is over run at night with screaming people.

Went to check into hotel, the room they gave me hadn't been turned at all. I immediately went back to the front counter and told them that my room hadn't had any attention and the employee acted like I was an inconvenience to them. She rudely told me to call Expedia because she wasn't going to change it, and the hotel employee then proceeded to put the Expedia representative on hold. I had to keep reminding her to help me with my problem and every time she acted like she had better things to do. I eventually was given a room that was slightly less gross, and decided that I was going to just stay here because I felt like continuing to try to get a decent room wouldn't do me any good. I went and bought my own cleaning supplies to clean my own hotel restroom to make up for what the employees failed to do. I had to give it a 1 star in order to rate the hotel but if I had an option it wouldn't definitely have earned a 0. Do not recommend whatsoever.

Location was convenient to Lackland. This is an old motel. Room was clean, but there were a few roaches, one in the coffee pot. Sheets and towels were dingy, worn. We did get a great deal on expedia, and staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was not impressive.

My experience started off decent, then as we transitioned into our second day I began getting irritated by the cleanliness standards or lack there of. Our towels had hair in them, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. We also found that the bed covers were stained and the sheets below had small stains. Lastly on the last day, went to shower and pulled the shower drapes close and a roach fell from the top. Extremely disappointed that families of Airman that come to graduations are exposed to this simply because of location. My family and I agreed… "never again". They are writing another review for their room which also had a laundry list of issues. I cannot in good conscience recommend this facility until they get they act together. The online pictures of the room are probably from 10 years ago when this place was decent. Again location should not justify the lack of cleanliness standards no matter how cheap. We are still consumers!

The place was clean. In a convenient place, the indoor pool and hot tub area was perfect! Staff ok, not rude, but you can tell they don't spend much time with customers. The beds were very uncomfortable. Would come here again.

Gehtto hotel. Nice staff, somewhat clean rooms, yellow stained pillows, son thought barnacles were growing in the pool, price should only be about 40$ per night, not 70l+…? But location is literally right off the gate to Lackland. So they have a constant, convenient audience and do not have to worry about ever getting business. So there's no reason to update or care for this hotel at all. Too bad Red Roof corporate has allowed this kind of degradation, because their website claims the opposite, and what a sad business model for a company like this in a competitive market. People will talk but the loss will be minimal, because they have a location that keeps money in the coffers. If you can afford to spend a little more look elsewhere! If not just secure your things and be prepared to be disappointed. But hey there's a plus to all this gloom. The airconditioning is Awesome! And though stains and dingy pillows, the beds and sheets smelled fresh. So at least you have a place to get a good night's sleep.

If I could give zero stars that'll be my rating. We book online for 5 days. We got our room and I saw stains on both beds sheet. They were at least palm size stains. We went to cancel, but the hotel still took our money (the whole 5 days) we were told it'll take up to 5 business days to get our money back. It's so easy to take my money, but hard to get it back. Why should it take that long? I should get interest.

I will not stay at another Red Roof Inn. The place was dirty when we arrived, the lock on the door was broken, the weather stripping fell around the room door, no hot water in the sink and no maintenance to fix it. There were roaches all over anand the advertised breakfast was cereal that looked like it has been sitting in the plastic bins for months. All they could offer was for us to switch rooms but they were all the same.

Showers are dirty, the rooms smell like a portapoty and 3/5 times there's other people's hair in your towels. I can say rooms because I switched rooms after the shower head in my first room only produced a dribble of water and was covered in hair. The few good points: the bed was comfortable and bug free and customer service was decent.

I've been calling around looking for a hotel to stay in for my son's graduation in July either other hotel's had horrible reviews or everything was booked. I feared I wouldn't have a hotel to stay in to attend my son's big day! I called to see if I can get affordable rates and if there was any availability. Spoke to a young man named Bruce at first it seemed as if I might be out of luck, but he checked again and found a room for me! I may say he wasn't only friendly but very helpful. His customer service skills was exactly what I needed. Told me bout the hotel and breakfast they offer took his time to find me a room for my boy's and I gave me a great rate. I was so pleased that I'm sure my stay will be a good one! Thank you Bruce! Wish more people had half of your customer service skills!

The room was disgusting and the staff was rude. When I was given my first room it was dirty. It looked as though someone had woke up and left in a hurry. The toilet was not flushed and the bed was not made. Then I got a second room and the sheets were filthy. When I addressed this matter with the staff — she was unpleasant and had an attitude. The last straw was when I woke up around 4 am there were roaches everywhere. DO NOT stay at this hotel. I was suppose to stay two nights, but left after the roach incident. The thing that really irritates me is I was still charged for two nights. VERY unsatisfied customer.

Horrible experience! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone! It's more like a nasty, dirty, run down motel. Pool water looked murky, rooms were dirty and had roaches… the fridge didn't work, the service was bad and the food was nasty. All kinds of shady people out at night making so much noise it was difficult to sleep. Just overall a terrible experience! Don't do it!

I would not give this hotel a single star. First the sheets were filthy with some unknown questionable marks and hair all over the place. Call for clean sheets and towels, yea ok, go find a housekeeping cart and get them yourself! Place the sign on the door for room service, leave for 8 hours, come back… NOTHING! Then low and behold here come the roaches! Funny thing is the ""housekeeper" says they have had this problem! Never again will go here and no one else should if you expect a clean and bug free room!

If it were possible to give this place 0 stars I would. Worst place I have EVER stayed and I have done a lot of traveling. The air conditioning was beyond loud and making weird sounds so we couldn't sleep with it on. Tried turning on the TV and it didn't work. Tried calling the front and the phone didn't work. The lazy receptionist at the front told us we should have walked down at 2 am to get a different room. Then refused to give us a refund telling us we needed to speak to the owner. After an hour of arguing she gave us a $20 refund. We also found out that she charged us $75 for the room so we payed more that everyone else because we payed by card. After all the issues she even said in order to check out and not be charged for another night we had to walk the key down when we left. We also woke up with a ton of bug bites. Possibly bedbugs. DO NOT STAY HERE! Between the awful accommodations and the terrible service this is not a place I would stay ever again. I think I would have slept better in the back seat of my car.

Stated at the inn while visiting son graduating Air Force basic. Picked the Inn based on what was offered like internet, for wife in school, fridge and microwave. The internet was down the whole time we stayed and the fridge was dirty and worked sporadically. When I spoke to desk about the internet was to step outside and connect to Denny's! Not happy.

Nasty place. Dirty sheets when we checked in late at night and I slept in my clothes on the blanket. Requested them changed and came back to the room to the same dirty sheets. Complained and they had me come to the desk to pick them up and change them myself. Shower broken, smelly room. Worst hotel room I have ever rented.

The rooms are disgusting. My grandmother dropped some kind of liquid on the floor, she put down a wash-cloth to get it up, and it was black when she picked it up. The staff: it depends on who you talk to, some are super awesome and others are just terrible. One staff member didn't want to let me finish my sentence, the other was very attentive. The bathroom ceiling has mold on it, the shower curtain is an outside only so the water goes right threw it, and gets all over the floor. So I wiped it up, in the rag was black. There was soda all over the bathroom door. There was dried blood on my aunts pillow. We had already had to ask for another room because there was pubic hair in the bed. Our television set was barely hanging on by a thread to the wall so it was crooked. We met the man that hung it he said yeah I don't know all the TVs. But the most important thing that I wanted to talk about with how the bathroom smelled like urine all the time, so we turn on the fan and we had to leave it running because it smells so gross in there. Then the fan broke and both me and my grandmother were afraid that it was going to start a fire. This place is terrible do not stay here!

Sheets on bed not clean. Roaches in room, the only reason I stayed was because I booked online. Refused to take a shower because the tub was nasty. Will never stay or recommend this place to anyone.

Great! Close to everything! *** Recent staff replacement and added housekeeping has brought about a great change since I was here last! " It takes a village". Repairs are being done in some rooms, and they are working diligently to get it to 5 stars! Rome wasn't built in a day, and if we are patient, we will see it blossom. I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the fact they had to work hard to keep 100 rooms running. It isn't their intention to displease, just needs some fine tuning. Front office manager was charming, polite and extremely helpful. Anita I think was her name, had a French accent. Oh and this wasn't converted as a previous guest wrote, the back units are green because they were sold to the same owner as a non franchised location named Q-Lodging. (Designed for inexpensive extended stay with 2x a week housekeeping for people that work in the area)

I never thought id have to shower with socks on. The first night I stayed I turned the shower on and some brown spots on the tub washed away, and a bunch of hair im guessing from the previous customer, ran down the wall of the shower. And I had my 2 year old with me I had her shower with shoes on. Not only that, but they apparently like to charge you extra for "damages" and not tell you about it, only thing they had was excuses for not giving you information on what it was. Didnt happen to me but it happen to family that were also staying there the same nights. Ridiculous. And disgusting.

Bad … Bad … did I say Bad?! Rooms nasty, bathrooms nasty. They only reason they stay in business is the captive business from Lackland… Obvious drug dealers staying in the room and out in the open selling… Shame on the ownership for allowing this…

Cheap hotel, bathroom stinks bad, have trash by the door of the bedroom. Chair on the room have white spots. The granite by the mirror is full of dust, disgusting place. Staying because I already booked an don't have rooms in other hotels Don't spend your money. Never again will book a room in any Red Roof.

Never again staying in this place. Should've gone with my gut feeling. Only reason I stayed it was because I had already booked through priceline. It smelled disgusting! The A/C also had a nasty smell. Not a place for families! Only good for contractors spending the night and moving on. Price was too much for what we got. Breakfast was a joke. Never again! Do not waste your money like I did! Ughhh.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but that is not the problem. The problem is that as soon as you turn on a light here roaches scatter everywhere! The people were great however it was so nasty and roach infested.

The one star I gave this place is just because it is located by Dennys where the service was great unlike this place. Let me start by saying that you get what you pay for, we just wanted a reasonably priced hotel to sleep since were going to spend most of our time exploring San Antonio. First off we checked in and our room was DISGUSTING! The beds were just remade but sheets and pillows wee not changed they were dirty and there was God knows what smeared on the bed. There were ashes on the AC unit that were never cleaned off and the floors were dirty as well. After my wife went to complain, they switched us to another room which by the way was strange since ther had been 2 people asking for vacancy and they were told "We are completely soldout of rooms". Anyway the second room was just as bad, the bathroom still had splashed pee from the previous people, flors were dirty, and here was stains on the pillows as wellas coffee cup marks on the counters. So we were moved a second time and AGAIN the room was unacceptable, but we were so tired my wife said she would just clean it herself. We tried to get our monet back through Expedia but since the Manager was out of town and obviously did not want to be bothered, the hotel would not approve the refund so we ended up having to stay. The free breakfast was a joke, 3 kinds of cereal, waffles and toast is all that was offered and of course they ran out of everything and didnt offer an alternative.

My experience was awful! Walked in and saw two roaches on the backside of the door. Gave it a try anyway, and it got worse, a lot worse. I was tired and needed a shower, but ruled out sleep and bathing due to several roaches in the bathtub, and several species of insects in the bed. Ants, bed bugs, and fleas in the covers and under the pillows. Not to mention the roaches all over the walls. I will never stay there again in my life. I got absolutely no sleep and had to sit up in the chair all night. This place should be demolished. The owners and managers should be very ashamed. This place sucked! Don't waste your money.

Great Hotel, had no trouble during my stay. My family and I both enjoyed are stay very much. Although there was issue's with the door key, the front desk attendant, Brianna was very polite and patient with issuing new door key's, also very helpful with meeting our needs to make our stay more comfortable. I would refer the red roof inn to anyone, as it's low rates compared to others near by, and very close distance from Lackland Air Force Base. My family would be enjoying our stay at the Red Roof Inn on our next visit.

Cockroaches. The first room they put me in, the door would not shut all the way, or lock. So we went to the lobby and they gave us the room next door. Because we were in a hurry I threw my bags on the bed and left. I got back and saw a few bugs in the bathroom, killed them and didn't think much of it. I woke up to a horrid smell from the AC unit, like burning animal hide. I turned on the lights and there were cockroaches everywhere! I started screaming and trying to throw all my stuff in my bags but the bugs were in my bags too! 3am and I am sobbing and screaming in the lobby. They gave me another room since and I was too hysterical to drive anywhere else, I took it on his assurance there would be no more bugs. He also said they would contact me for a refund, (of which I have heard nothing). I was able to get about an hour of sleep with all the lights on and the TV on to drown out the sounds of the neighbors yelling and slamming doors. Never again.

I should have written this review a year ago when I stayed at this Red Roof while picking up my purebred pup from his San Antonio breeder. I've been a loyal RR customer for decades, largely because of their dog-friendly policy, and I can honestly say that this is by far the best RR I've ever stayed in. The location is easy to find and convenient to freeways, restaurants, and of course Lackland AFB. My room was comfortable and squeaky clean, the staff was without exception friendly and genuinely helpful — — extra pillows, use of the office printer, even letting me stay a few hours past checkout free of charge when the breeder changed the time of our meeting. I didn't use the pool, but had I known in advance how sparkling clean and inviting it was I would have brought my swim suit! In a weird twist of fate, my military husband has just received orders to San Antonio. And RR Lackland definitely will be our first choice to spend a couple of weeks while we house-hunt! The four stars instead of five is ONLY because this is not a ritzy, high-end, drop-dead expensive establishment — — AND HAS NEVER PRETENDED TO BE, which suits me just fine.

I stayed there for my daughter's BMT at Lackland AFB. The plaster on the ceiling in our room fell down and hit my wife in the head. Our room was not vacuumed nor wiped down. The staff did not care how the room looked or that a 8" piece of plaster fell from the ceiling. The internet is a joke, and concrete steps are not safe. Don't waist your time staying there. I would never recommend anyone ever too.

Stayed here in Feb for my daughters basic training graduation, price was perfect for someone on a budget and right down the street from Lackland AFB. We showed up very early and they were very nice and waived the early check in fee for us. We drove 10hrs to get there. The rooms were clean, and had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot in it.
