Stayed at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and have to say I was blown away in a very positive way! The room was really nice, and clean, the bathroom was great too! The staff is extraordinarily friendly and respectful and the price was actually really good! I was not expecting anything phenomenal from 3 stars but was blown away and felt like I landed in a 5 Star luxury hotel! Definitely recommend anyone who is staying in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area to try this place out!

Cainon was on a business trip to New Mexico and on his way back he flew from El Paso Texas to Phoenix Arizona. Where his flight to Redmond was canceled due to freezing rain. The airlines sent him to the closest Howard Johnson by Wyndham. He had to pay for a room, Airlines do not pay since it was due to weather.
To say it was disgusting is an understatement!

Door is off the hinge and he had to prop chairs against it to keep it closed.

Garbage over flowing
Bed gross! Slept on top of it fully clothed.
Breakfast area-
Garbage over flowing and trash all over the floor
Food looked gross so he didn’t eat
Drug addicts in lobby harassing guest and once they boarded the shuttle back to the airport the addict proceeded to run around bus banging on windows.
Wtf is wrong with this picture? And when I asked him why he didn’t leave and go somewhere else, he said he didn’t want to leave the little old couple he had befriended at the airport line, he helped get them to the hotel and wanted to make sure they were ok and made it back to the airport alright!
Never ever will I recommend this hotel and I will file a complaint with them and the BBB.

We booked a room to get away from the Hurricane disaster (no power, etc) in Marianna, FL. The day of arrival they canceled the room on us for a "Hurricane Refugee" Hello, that's us as well! Horrible!

You probably stayed in a lot of hotels, but you'll be spoiled by the time you go to another hotel after staying in this one. Refreshment Center that's open 24/7, even has its own movie theater, Serta mattresses and lazy boy recliners in the rooms. And service… The best!

The Howsrd Johnson un Spring City is a nice motel. The rooms are very well kept and the beds are comfortable. The have a pretty good breakfast. The staff is friendly and accomodatimg.

Very clean and quiet. The front desk was very helpful and nice.

We travel 600+ miles for the past 10 years or so to see family. Every trip we have came here to the HoJo in Spring City Tn. But after this trip. Doubt we will ever return. Nothing but headache after headache. Room had AC issues. Counter lady was ridiculously rude. Got charged for THREE Days and only stayed TWO. 11am friday thru 7am sunday. Will be contacting for a resolution. If nothing is resolved. Corporate will be reached. Next time we come to town. Definately will be willing to drive to dayton or harriman for a hotel. This one has went downhill it seems.

It was a very nice day. Nice rooms nice view very nice lady at front desk very helpful full of information. Overall great stay.

Stay at Spring City Howard Johnson hotel every year when we visit relatives. This last visit of three nights we had a room with a 2nd super big tub. Place is very clean. Breakfast selections need improvement. We ate elsewhere.

The location is fairly remote but there are some good restaurants close by and a grocery store if you want to stay in. No alcohol sales at the stores on Sunday but you can pop into one of the local establishments for an adult beverage. Only issue with the room was the blinds wouldn't pull closed and there were a lot of random bright lights on everything in the room like the TV, some kind of air purifier thing, the alarm clock was bright blue.

Great hotel, friendly staff and has a theatre for family movie nights! It doesn't have an elevator, but it's only two floors but still kind of hard carrying luggage up if you have a lot. Will definitely be staying here again.

It surpasses most any place you would encounter in routine travels. Everything about it was great. (But handicapped or very elderly should request 1st floor since there is no elevator to the 2nd floor. ) We were there for the total eclipse at an incredibly busy time and had zero problems. The staff was super. Anyone complaining about this place should probably try the Greenbrier.

Ok the beds were so old that you ended up sinking into the middle. And the breakfast was a little sub par.

Super friendly & accommodating staff. Carrying bags up stairs was the only negative.

Overall it was ok. The room was nice but the floor was dirty and the free breakfast is not really worth it. I went to Scramblers across the RR tracks to eat. They do have a free movie theater so that is nice for kids. Staff is friendly :-)

The location was very clear and easy to find off the road, the rooms were extremely clean and neat, beds were very comfortable, and they even had amenities like a small store and a little theatre for your kids! Only thing that I'd say to improve on is their breakfast really sucked. We ate at a diner across the street and would rather pay instead of eat their free breakfast haha.

Excellent hotel rooms. Great value. Breakfast left alot to be desired, but overall a good experience.

Very nice stay. Clean runs. Very friendly staff. Big screen movie theater with a good selection of movies to pick from, free to use during your stay. Would definitely stay again.

It's not a bad place to stay for being in a small town.

Small town only hotel motel around within 20 miles. Greeted with a smile every morning and evening. Had a great stay. Beyond comfortable bed. Will stay again.

Fine room. Guest service was rough: I would think a smile was part of the training for those working at the front desk. Also would've liked the website to be more clear about the no pet policy, especially since many other Howard Johnson Hotels are fine with pets.

Everything was great could use a better breakfast but would stay here again.

This is really the only game in town for lodging and it lived up to the no-hassle promise. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The breakfast was typical with biscuits and gravy and make-your-own waffles the "hot" items. We took advantage of the free movie theater the last night of our stay. The trains across the street were noisy and disturbed our sleep, but hte double paned windows helped. A bit pricey, but I'd stay here again when in the area.

My experience at the hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were well kept and clean. Beds were incredable comfortable. They had everything you needed in amenities. I was blown away that they had a theater within the hotel and offered newer movies to see. Great for watching a moving in the afternoon. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area.
