Just horrible! My family and I decided to pass through on our way to Ohio to see family. Our kids wanted to see snow in the mountains and this unfortunately was the only hotel we could find to book. So definitely not our first choice. Some issues with the room, TV didn’t work properly on some channels, and someone really could have slipped and fell on the stairs as they were not cleared or covered. The biggest issue was that we had left something in our room, called the managers and were given the run around on the phone not thinking we would return, drove 2 hours returning to the hotel, and watched the video where the managers personally cleaned out our room but denied finding our items. The video was very sketchy. Be careful of your belongings here. The managers are liars and try to put blame on you to justify them taking what is yours. I would not stay here. The holiday inn and other hotels are close by.

Not enough staff and extremely unprofessional. Bad communication. The couple who manage the Inn need to take a course on manners, etiquette and business management. The town of Cumberland Gap is the only reason to stay in this low class low scale motel.

Pet friendly rooms and a great view.

Such a cute little space. We were passing through on Thanksgiving night and spent the night. We had our 2 small dogs with us and they waived the pet fee because it’s the holidays. Everything was nice and clean. No musty smell. The beds were comfy. There is a front and back door with a cute little patio out back. We would stay again!

Been staying here for a few years off and on we just love this motel this place has improved a great deal.

I do not recommend any part of this Inn-unprofessional, outdated, unclean, disorganized, and not reliable. I have never had such a bad experience as this while traveling often and supporting locally owned businesses.

Early October my husband and I were attempting to stay at the Inn for a couple of days but unfortunately when we checked in we didn’t get to see the room up front and they never said or showed us the no refund policy until we seen the room and realized how filthy it was and immediately went back to the lobby/office and ask if we can get a refund and they said no and then that’s when they pointed to a piece of paper stuck on the wall and you couldn’t even read it and did not offer to take it down so we could go over it. The door had locking issues you couldn’t get it unlocked and when you did you couldn’t get it locked back which is a safety concern, the carpet was disgusting the bed sheets were stained, the refrigerator was not working and the smell of mold was suffocating all in all not a clean place or safe place to stay the experience would have been awful. I realize with my review that I would probably not get to stay there well I will take that chance because I was not going to stay there ever and I would advise any family wanting to stay there (JUST DONT ITS HORRIBLE).

Tried to stay 10/13/2020 after paying for the room, we found the room was filthy and had a bad odor. The door lock didn’t work very well (A safety issue) Cable had problems not to mention the room was not sanitized for COVID 19. I know the so called management will say it was, but all the major hotel chains have covers over the TV remote tamper evident seals on the door and the smell of sanitizer in the room. If you choose to stay in this filthy, poorly managed dump be prepared to loose your money as I found out the lying owner will tell the credit card company whatever he needs to keep your money. The report from the C. C. Company states “according to management” the room had a new mattress, and that might be true I never checked the bed out for bed bugs so I can’t say I felt the room was below CDC standards for COVID-19 and basic room sanitation. The C. C. Report also states “according to management”I didn’t report the problem to them, I waited in the lobby/ office @ 45 minutes for the “ owner “ and his son to get back the the hotel/ inn. All the time I assumed it was his wife working the counter checking in a group of construction workers and their dogs. Take my advice get a room at the OLDE MILL INN B&B. The Cumberland gap inn IS NOT THE PLACE YOU WOULD WANT YOUR FAMILY TO STAY! Also by writing this negative review I will not be welcomed back to this filthy nasty place, as one of the other reviews said that’s ok I want be back.

Such a peaceful place! The people are friendly and the views and hiking and history around this little town are amazing.

Only place around… it has memories. And good service.

Great place to stay in a small town!

Nice clean non smoking rooms. Freindly staff. Rooms have fridge, microwave, coffee maker and wi fi.

Loved the balcony and the quiet creek running below.

I had a good stay. Everything was clean. Would stay again!

Don't miss this one if you are interested in the Cumberland Gap and the surrounding area. Damien and his wife Katherine at the front desk are especially helpful. The owner lives near-by and is an very interesting chap. Excellent value for price.

This is a nice place to stay. The Room was clean, however bit dated Bed was comfortable Good linens Tv was bit small how ever plenty of stations Staff was nice and lastly the picture on website are accurate.

Dirty and Animal House Frat-like. Went to a good after wedding party and had fun though, so there's that.

The friendly and attentive staff was eager to make my stay the best possible. Each room had a balcony with a view, a rare amenity in similar hotels. All my needs were quickly met. I look forward to another stay.

No stars. We checked into the hotel after driving all day and they did not have the room available that we reserved so they put us in another room. There was no night stand in the room with the stuff that would have been on the night stand laying on the bed. Second the TV did not work at all so we had to go through 45 mins of them trying to hook up another tv. The owner was telling us what a wonderful hotel they had and they were full all summer with wedding parties. We layed down. My husband immediately fell asleep and I couldn’t because I was itching. Then I saw a bug on my pillow. I went to the bathroom and saw the bite marks and blood. I came out of the bathroom to my husband yelling that we have bed bugs. I looked at his bed and there were blood spots and bugs crawling all over his bed. We are covered in bug bites… bed bugs. It is no fun cleaning every inch of everything that you had in the room. The worst part is that we had the owner in the room looking at the actual bugs crawling all over the bed and the blood spots all over the sheets and he says “It’s not my responsibility “. Wedding parties please do not stay here for your wedding or your family members. I have thought about that since we checked out at 4 am. We have 5 grown kids and I couldn’t imagine their wedding parties staying at a place like this. I will be going to the BBB Monday to show them the pictures. I just wanted to warn people.

Superb prices for its location. Five minutes from miles upon miles of beautiful hiking trails. Waking up to the best view of the smoky mountains everyday, really helped making everyday there almost therapeutic. Cumberland gap has some very nice businesses that I had a chance to explore while spinning my time there. Papa chums music store was my favorite stop. It's a nice family run retail store with a wide selection of instruments and even some that are made by the owners if I am remembering correctly. The pineapple tea room was also a very nice coffee and tea spot that had great service and almost home like vibes. Also Cumberland gap is very close to pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. 10/10 would recommend and will return for sure.

Perfect location to enjoy a getaway to hike! Walk out of your room, for trails, food and sweet town! Rooms clean, staff went above and beyond on requests.

John the receptionist is a great guu super knowledgeable about the surrounding area and school. Was a big help!

It's a older hotel in a old town, but nice and clean. We stayed on the top floor with a balcony. The bottom floors have patios. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the manager. We found it very pleasant and we will definitely be back.

Loved it, simple, as a smoker it's hard to travel anymore, room has either a porch or balcony great for stepping outside for a smoke. Good water, nice guy running it with his friendly pet dog following him around.

Decor is very old time style, but is a very cozy place to stay. The creek running out back, and the view of the mountains from the windows is great.

Great hotel. Have stayed here twice within the last 6 months, for Christmas and in June. Absolutely Beautiful area. Very friendly staff. Dog friendly which was a necessary for us as we bring our dog everywhere with us.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay in a wonderful town.

We loved our stay here, the rooms are spacious with a Victorian look, and there was a nice private deck. Everything was very clean, and the man at the front desk was really nice and very helpful. We were really glad we spoke with him.

Drove in late Saturday night straight from Florida. Chouldnt believe the Hospitality. John was great with getting me around the town without getting lost. He also had the heat already on in the room upon arrival. Great hospitality and even better views!

I loved it here! Great price and wonderful staff! All very friendly and caring. We were due to arrive around 11 and didn't arrive until after midnight and when you hear someone say, "I was starting to worry about y'all, " you know you have picked the right place to lay your head down! Don't miss out staying with them!

Mike is very hospitable! After many delays due to flights, finally arrived to a clean & well cared for property! Highly recommended this hotel… and the icing on the cake was meeting Cooper!

Such a quiet and peaceful stay! Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. We stayed four nights and the microwave and refridgerator were great to have. Came back to clean linens and new toiletries every day! The owners even took my mail to the post office for me! You will be surrounded by mountains with a wonderful noisy brook behind the inn. Private balcony lets you sit in the evening or morning and watch the deer out there. The Inn is in walking distance to two very nice places to eat, we recommend Angelo's. They had live music and awesome food. We loved the Cumberland Gap Inn and the lovely little town of Cumberland Gap!

Hotel is a little old and probably could use some updating but why bother? It's so charming! Clean and affordable. Super low pet fee. The town is adorable and we had a lovely breakfast at the local coffee shop. A hidden gem. So glad this is where we ended up on our drive home from Ohio.

Not elaborate but very comfortable.

I stayed hear this last weekend. Despite being an older place it was super clean and John, the manager is really friendly and helpful. He really knows the area and the Schools there. The water is hot, the beds are soft and clean and the best part is the price. I wont lie and say its Ritzy, but the staff is top notch (johns great) and the price is affordable. Again, clean, friendly, and inexpensive-and in a historically rich area.

Great stay! The manager was super friendly. If your into chain hotels, might not be for you. But if your looking for a nice off the path quiet place for a good rate, I'de recommend it. I would stay here again.

My family and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We didn't book this online. We walked in there and were impressed by friendly staff. We experience great customer services, kind of 5-star hotel! We will surely come to this place if we are nearby. Good value for money we paid. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, extra space in room, internet service, TV all we needed. I highly recommend this hotel if you're reading this review.

The rooms are very clean and decorated nicely. The staff is really great and friendly. I arrived there around 1 a. M. And had to knock on door of the manager who lives there hesitantly, but he came right out and helped me get my room and said that's what he's there for and continually made sure we had everything we needed. Great place, great price, and even better staff.

I had a great experience in this hotel. I went up to Tennessee for an interview at LMU and I highly recommend staying here if you're going to visit the university (it's less than 10 minutes away). It's not the newest or the fanciest but it's got charm, it's clean, and the people in the small town of cumberland gap are wonderful. The bathroom was very clean, the air worked well, the shower worked well (good pressure and hot water) and the staff was extremely friendly and considerate. There are only two options for rooms, a king or two queens. I booked the king and the room was very large with a sitting area, mini fridge, and microwave. There was a nice little back porch with a view of trees and a small stream. Bypass the chains and check this place out, you won't regret it.

We enjoyed out stay at Cumberland Gap Inn. Owner guy and staff very nice. Clean room and priced well. We will return and sty there our next visit. Whoever forgot and left the Finlandia Vodka in the freezer. Thanks! I enjoyed that Finland hootch. Stuff is clean.

Wow! What a gem of a place. Mike, the owner, is one of the most pleasant people. We are staying there right now and are very pleased. The room is super clean, smells great, and quite large. It's in a tiny little town that is so charming. Angelo's restaurant is amazing. Just so you know, my GPS couldn't find it. You have to turn by the gas station and drive behind it to get down to the little town. I did notice I could hear the upstairs sometimes. So if that would bother you, get an upstairs room. I am very pleased with this choice.

Excellent location with small town friendliness. The owner Mike was very nice and the room looked great. I highly recommend them. I chose this over the others in Middlesboro, KY.
