Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg West, an IHG Hotel

When we booked this room the reviews were awesome, but I apparently got into a wrong review section because it was a nightmarish experience! I would not choose to sleep here even if it was completely free! I did take a hint by the smudgy, filmy front door! The overall vibe as we walked to the elevators at midnight was unsanitary. The elevator opened and at that point I should’ve backed away! (If the elevators are dirty you can’t expect a clean room) The hallways were ugly n unclean. We entered room 314 to awfully old, stained, and filthy carpet, and a couch with coffee drips on it. We kept our luggage off the floor, never sat on the couch, and didn’t touch the gagging Keurig! We did not walk around barefooted. I was very uncomfortable staying in that hotel. In case of bedbugs we left the lights on ALL NIGHT LONG…… If there was bedbugs I wanted them to stay in the dark! The bed seemed nice n clean but looked like an 8 or 10 year old made it up! The tub, pot, and sink appeared clean. The tile floor was nasty in grout n corners! The walls around the pot had weird suspicious shades on it! Overall Very Outdated. I do not recommend. People have been complaining about the uncleanliness, but the issue is NOT being addressed. I would NOT recommend this facility.

I have stayed there multiple times to include taking a Girl scout troop group of about 50 people. I have never had a problem with the hotel until this September. I was visiting for a family reunion. My two daughters and I came home with mite bites, verified by my doctor. We were prescribed ointment for treatment. I told the nice young man at the desk that I had two bites. I am not sure exactly when I told him about this, but I DEFINITELY mentioned it along with my complaints about the female night clerk who refused to give us enough towels for the family. The room was dirty. Walls have smear marks on them. Shower curtain had mold on it (this was replaced when I pointed it out). The refrigerator wasn’t working. The nice young man at the desk got another refrigerator and brought it to the room. The couch was dirty when the pullout was used. Clearly, the room was not cleaned up to COVID tankards or we would not experienced the mite problem. When corporate was contacted, they said it would be up to the hotel that they couldn’t do anything about it. They said the notes stated that they viewed the video and I never mentioned the bites so they couldn’t do anything. As I said before, I know that I did say it but I’m sorry that I do t remember the specific time that this was done. The point is that the three of us had mite bites and they came from the hotel. My daughters live in different cities from me and from each other. This did not occur after we got home.

We stayed end of September for a
Week — it was Dirty, staff was rude except for one boy at the front…. And worst of all we all came home with Mite bites! And they did nothing about it! They even tried to say it wasn’t from them, when we went home to 3 different cities! My mom went to the doctor the day after we checked out! And was prescribed a cream to treat the mite bites— — and they still questioned it! Who knows how many people have been bitten in that room and will continue to be bitten! Horrible service! We always stayed here, but definitely will never stay there again! Or any IHG hotel! We called corporate and they said the hotel would have to fix the problem! Just really really bad customer service! IHG Corporate.
