My boyfriend and I rented a room for a two night stay for the weekend his daughter was graduating from WVU. It is about a 20 minute drive to campus, but I enjoyed the drive and found it scenic through highly wooded areas and past several old coal mining operations. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and all the food was very good and a few of the items I would actually rate as superb. (We opted in on the optional dinner one of the nights there. ) The inn is decorated with a fantastic mix of vintage items and books. I do believe there was a TV in the parlor area hidden in a concealed cabinet, but personally we didn't look for a unique, quiet B&B to watch tv. And in my opinion the host, who has an eccentric humorous personality, gave just the right amount of conversation. If you were in the mood for interaction and wanted to hear some great stories, he was happy to oblige but if you were in the mood for just some romantic alone time with your partner, it was easy to find that too. If we are in need of a place to stay again in that area, we would without a doubt stay… in fact, we may make the 5 hour trip back sometime just to enjoy another relaxing weekend at the Inn. (Another side note: Due to some circumstances we didn't anticipate some other travelers with us were unable to stay, and the owners were extremely understanding about the situation. They could have easily been "jerks" about the situation since it was a last minute cancellation, but they weren't at all)

A lovely place to stay if you are going to be in the area. The home is beautiful, full of history and made even better by the stories told at breakfast by The Captain himself. I would definitely come back again if I had the chance.
