Oh my gosh. People please stop saying that this hotel is nice, terrific, and clean. My husband booked this hotel last week because of the positive reviews! Now, I understand that everyone has different expectations, but this place is poor at best. We arrived after 10pm, and I was so upset upon seeing the inside of the place that my husband went back out and drove around looking for a different hotel while I sat on the very edge of the bed fully clothed. Unfortunately, he could find only one other place (Holiday Inn Express), and it was fully booked (I understand why). After this visit, I now know where my mother's wagon wheel type kitchen furniture from the sixties ended up. Here. The hotel has not been remodeled in at least thirty years. Although I must agree that our room was dusted and vacuumed, a little windex and a vacuum cannot remove thirty years of ground in dirt, stains, mold and mildew. The towels were so thin you could literally see through them, and the mattress soooo soft that I had to take an anti-inflammatory pill to killl the back pain the next morning. When I pulled back my polyester faded bedspread there was a CRUMB in the bed. And there were dead bugs in the light fixture in the bathroom (at least I think they were dead). I instructed my ten year old son to keep his shoes on at ALL times. My son thought it was cool that the room had a safe. I thought that it was a bad sign considering the room did not have any other amenities like a refrigerator or microwave etc. There was no place to put your suitcase, so I had to use the ironing board (which was so dirty I never would have ironed on it anyway). The room had a television that must have weighed 100+ pounds (like the one I took to recycling maybe ten years ago), and the "free Wi-Fi" didn't work (I had to use the hotspot on my phone to look for a different hotel for the next night). The free breakfast didn't even interest my husband and son. We did find the weirdest little bar/restaurant across the road from the Days Inn that looked like a hole in the wall (log cabin like) but served an excellent breakfast. Please do not visit this hotel with high expectations. Yes, you can stay here inexpensively and survive the night. But if you have even a small amount of cleanliness in your blood, this is not the place for you. Oh, there is no elevator. So if you are given a room on the second floor (like we were), happy lugging your suitcases up a flight of stairs. I must say that we did NOT have trouble canceling the second night reservation in the morning, and then moving on (trying hard to forget the previous night).
