On Sat Aug 11 I checked in for two nights. It was worst “hotel” experience I have ever had. Room was suppose to be no smoking. However the smell of smoke was everywhere. Wash clothes stained. At this point I was not real happy but relatives had rented 4 other rooms. Noise from people laughing and cutting went on until 11:45 when I called the desk. I was told the police had been called and come through. However cars came and went into the same parking space until 3:00 am. When I asked to speak to manager next morning I was told he was out of country. I told them I was checking out and would not be staying a second night. I asked because of the inconvenience I was caused could I have a late check out due to needed a place to stay until I could check into another hotel. They flatly refused. Said it was impossible. I then told them I would be writing a bad review. At that point they accused me of not telling the truth. Only a child would not realize drugs were involved in the situation. However they claimed it was due to too many people in a room. I would not recommend this Days Inn to anyone. I called the Country Inn and Suites and explained that I needed an early check in. They were the best. If ever back in Shelby would make Country Inn my first choice. If I could leave no stars for this Days Inn I would.

Looks great from the outside. The lobby was very nice, but you don't sleep in the lobby. Maid or full-time resident cussing from a room. Room smells of cigarettes and old carpet. The bedding had burn holes in it. (non-smoking room) Rate is high for what you get.

Terrible Customer service… Front desk was rude… rooms look like 30 dollar rooms old tore up comforters… towels are very thin little and look dungy… only nice thing was the pool!

Whole hallway smelled loud. Nobody cared. Freedom.

Really nice people and liked the shampoo they supplied. Fresh paint over old doors and walls. Everything else sucked.

Beds are good. Room service are trashy and disrespectful. They complain loudly about there job and and make it clear they don't want to be there at all. :update: I wouldn't have stayed if I wasn't so lazy. Room service won't work with nightshifters so room never got cleaned. When I tried to have our room changed they refused so I was pretty upset. Oh well guess all I can do I write my disappointment in their customer service.

I had stayed here a year ago and have it a good review but it has really went downhill in a year. Last year it was a basic clean and decent room that I felt safe in. Not so this year the room was dirty and there was a lot more commotion going on in the parking lot and outside the room in the early morning hours. No service from housekeeping except clean towels laid on the closest table to the door. The bathroom was really dirty on the doors and walls and there was green scum behind the vanity sink. I found my ice bucket list on the bucket but when I picked it up I put my hand in something sticky and gross almost like strawberry jam. The coffee pot was dirty and stained and there was a weird smell to the room. But the bed did have clean linens so that was a positive thing. Gotta say I was disappointed and won't be returning here.

To spend the night is fine but do not expect much of the place.

This hotel is great, but not if you have loads of coke in your room and a guy comes and shoots you. Anyway, other than that, nice rooms, good for me and my girlfriend to have our way on the couch, and the bed. How sweet is that!? Anyway, it also gave me ample time to sit and think of how Clinton really was the one that did 9/11 and Obama turned the frogs gay with chemicals. So I guess Alex Jones was right. I had a great experience except for the people in the room beside mine was very loud and fighting, so I left. Other then that I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to family and friends.

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had while staying in a hotel. There was dried blood on my sheets, the staff at the front acted as tho they were inconvenienced to change my sheets for me and then acted as if it was my fault. They changed the sheets with another set of dirty ones but at least they were not bloody. The towels were dirty and there were open used soap bars in the shower from a previous guest. I will never ever be back.

The coffee was pretty good, but the biscuits were dry. It was a good stop regardless.

Hands down the nastiest place I've ever stayed in. Within an hour I had killed four giant bugs. Everything is dirty and dusty. Sleep in your vehicle before sleeping here.

Friendly staff, hot water, and no bugs. Other than that, not much good to say. Dirty bathroom, entire interior needs remodeling (ripped carpet, torn couch cushions, dirty popcorn ceiling), thin walls with very poor insulation (got woken up by the couple in the room next door web they stumbled in drunk at 2am and proceeded to loudly argue and then "make up" until sunrise.

Rooms are ok for one ir two nights but for longer stay is not recommended housekeeping are terrible they don't change the beds or even make they don't care about cleaning you room.

Very very friendly nice staff. They were very accommodating. Nice spacious rooms.

I was in town for the ALWS and was disgusted by the horrific conditions of the room. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, the shower curtain was ripped, the phone between the beds was covered in so much dirt I had to ask for someone to clean it. When I did, they handed me a white face cloth so that I could clean it myself! I had to beg for a cleaner. There was no ironing board or iron in the room. When I asked for one, I was handed an ironing board with one leg broken in half. And, I had to carry it to my room myself! The pool wasn't open — all gates had pad locks and it was 87 degrees outside. The freezer in the fridge was a solid block of ice. The place is very outdated and not clean at all. I checked out as soon as possible and went down the street to a much cleaner hotel. I would never return and would never recommend this hotel or another Days Inn again. I was totally disgusted. The board of Health should make a visit.

Staff was pleasant breakfast wasn't great but at least it wasn't terrible. Rooms were clean. And bathroom wasn't disgusting. All in all not terrible.

Friendly staff. Room was in top shape. It was a very Family friendly motel.

BED BUGS do not stay at this awful hotel if you can help it I stayed here for two weeks for an 8bweek job and started getting strange bites and whelps all over my body. I went to the nurse thinking I was having an allergic reaction to something from work and she told me it was likely bed bugs from my hotel. That's when I discovered them at first just a few on my pillows but when I took the sheets off I realized it was infested! I talked to the manager who was very rude during the whole stay and he gave me a new room that morning before I went to work and when I got home from work to move into the new room he told me that the room was no longer available and that I would have to find another hotel to stay at. He wouldn't even tell me when the next room will be available just to GET OUT! there are no other hotels and the area that have availability so I am basically homeless because of this awful place this is a NIGHTMARE.

Seems good so far. Nice and affordable.

Very easy to find. Some of the rooms you have to walk around to the inside of a square courtyard to get to but these face the pool which wasn't open yet. The room had two beds and a refrigerator and no problems. I didn't interact with any of the employees.

Clean rooms, beds and pillows will make for good night's rest, Wi-Fi, and friendly staff. Easy check in and good breakfast. Great room for not a bad price.

Shower was dirty with someone else's hair on the wall. The top of the shower has dirt all along the top. Couch has huge stains on the seat. At least the rate was good and there was no creepy crawlies that I saw.

Nice and affordable. No bed bugs and they offer smoking and non smoking rooms. Definitely a good place to stay.

It was ordinary but efficient.

The service was great. The rooms were nice and clean.

When I first walked into the rooms they look nice however as I went into the bathroom the floors were filthy, the counter top had hair stubs where a man had shaved, the tub was filthy, and the comforter had what appeared to be blood stains on it. I asked for another room and it was the same! Disgustingly filthy! The breakfast they served looked like pig slop.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Families do not stay here. Disgusting hooker motel with drugs running ramped through the hotel.

I will start with the positive. The staff was very friendly (except for one whom I guessed to be owner). The rooms are up to date and pretty nice upon initial entry. The pool was Very nice. Now to the single star! The rooms are DIRTY, the bathrooms are FILTHY (hair in tub, toilets NOT cleaned at all, leftover soaps on shower edge, etc. ) We were looking forward to the hot continental breakfast. I wouldn't have eaten anything from the pigsty they called the breakfast room. Overall, I would definitely not choose to stay here again.

If I could give this hotel less than one star, I would. The manager and housekeeping staff were extremely rude and unaccommodating. The room was dusty and the bathroom wasn't clean. I found it even more disturbing that the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services gave this place a cleanliness score of 96.5, according to the certificate at the front desk. The room was in such poor condition at checkin that we tried to move to a nearby Holiday Inn but they had no availability. Good thing we brought our own blanket and pillow for the long ride — — they came in handy at this place. On the upside, the front desk staff was pleasant but I would strongly advise against staying here.

This is a review to inform more than anything else. I lived in shelby all my life until about 18 years ago when I moved to South Carolina and it pains me to write such a review. Me parents still live in shelby very close to the day's inn and it has always been a nice place to stay until I rented a room for my sister that also lives out of town and is recovering from cancer to come and see my father who's health is failing. I ask for a room that was as close to a handicap access as possible so they gave me the key to room 139 and said it would be the room she would be staying in. When my sister arrived with her daughter to be checked in they were given a different room and were told that room 139 had to be cleaned only an hour after I had looked at it and took pics of the room. They were given a room infested with bed bugs! They were told of the situation at the front desk and the desk clerk offered to refund the money the next morning which was not the best reply to someone who had just found BED BUGS in their room. My sister called me and after talking with the desk clerk a full refund was given and my sister and her daughter had to find a hotel on the other end of 74 much further from my parents. Again they did give a refund and said they were going to address and take care of their creepy crawlers! Just to inform everyone and make sure you check your beds.

Convenient to my family's home, we were visiting from out of town. Nice to load luggage from the front door (truly a "MO-tel"). Also liked the microwave/fridge (we asked them to turn it on in advance, but they didn't). As far as service, don't ask. No extra hangers, no extension cord, no ANYthing that you ask for. And the rates are commensurate with a motel that does offer customer service. No good coffee either, in room or on breakfast bar. Window hvac unit very noisy as well. I worried about mice and/or roaches but didn't see any. Pool a little gross off season. I wish there were a nicer motel in this part of Shelby. If you want something nicer, that still doesn't break the bank, I suggest the Holiday Inn Express. Less convenient for us though, but a much nicer and cleaner room.

I thought the room was clean enough. Nice big bed. Good service. Breakfast was decent. The only thing that I really did not like was the slow Internet service. Painfully slow. I did like the setup of the room with an extra table for working.

We stayed at this hotel because we traveled to Shelby with our dogs. Here is a pro: they allow pets. Here are the cons: the pet fee is $25 per pet, PER NIGHT (we paid the same price to stay at this hotel as we would have paid at the the Westin or similar hotel. When checking in, we asked that they state the additional fee on their advertisement but the hotel staff seemed as though they could care less in addition to being very rude all together. The hotel room was very dirty in general but the icing on the cake was the urine stains on the toilet seat (mostly on the bottom of the seat), the mattresses were in very poor shape, the heating/cooling unit (and refrigerator) in the room will keep you up at night unless you unplug them both (then you may wake up from being too hot or cold). Had the staff at the Days Inn acted as though we were a valued customer, we may have stayed a few more days b/c it was close to where we needed to be and essentially, they would have made more money off of us, but with everything added together, we only stayed one night and moved on to a far better place.
