Beautifully scenic, everything conveniently situated on the resort! Houses are beautiful and full of amenities.

This ocean loving family is now sold on lake life after a week’s stay here. Our townhome was the perfect size and we were pleased with all of the amenities. Staff on the beach were a polite, helpful and super hardworking crew. There were also several outside activities in close proximity that we enjoyed through third parties. Highly recommend!

Private lake beach access is great and employees are very helpful and kind. However, very disappointed with the total lack of trash containment. Just a feeding frenzy for bears. Surely a resort this size can come up with some solutions to secure trash instead of sending employees around day and night to pick up the trash (what have other properties done in active bear areas? ). Observed people approaching bears while they were scavenging through the trash just to get the perfect picture. Yikes.

We are spending our last day here. It’s such a beautiful place and everyone here is very friendly and nice. A great place to visit with family or friends. Highly recommended for everyone.

Great resort with views that are awesome!

Lakeside is gorgeous. Although the kids loved the pools, they kept asking to go back to the lake. They had so much fun exploring the stream that feeds the lake. Mini Golf was a good deal ($5 play all day), and since it was lakeside, we could play a round, swim, come back for another round, etc. There is a nice little fishing dock on the smaller lake. It was great place to take the kiddie poles and let them catch some bream. You can get worms at the Apple Valley Market down the road from the resort. Renting a paddle boat was pretty inexpensive. $20 for an hour. That was a new experience for the kids that they won't forget. This was a great place for a family vacation. There is enough to do here to keep the kids busy, and we never had to leave for anything. We will definitely be planning another trip back here.

My husband and I were married here on October 12th of this year and it could not have been a better experience! The resort was SO helpful with any and all questions. The salon had great hair and make up stylists that made me feel completely gorgeous on my big day. The food and beverage coordinator was the absolute best helper during the reception! I never had to lift a finger for anything, she anticipated all our wants and needs and I just can’t thank them enough for helping to ensure our night was PERFECT! — с Oscar Orellana.

My first ever experience of staying at rumbling bald resort was simply amazing. I loved the scenery as well as the nice room and jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub, which was so awesome. Honestly felt like a mini vacation and I enjoyed it while I had the chance along with my cousin.

I have becoming here for four years. Gradually things have just went downhill over the years in regards to service. Legends service and food was awful. If you want to charge resort prices you should have resort service. Unimpressed. We ordered the gold special Thursday large pizza, wings, pretzel bites and beer. Only brought us 2 plates for 4 people. Very Slow service. No straws, told they did not have to go containers… had to suggest to the waitress she just give us a small pizza box.

Customer service is terrible. Stayed 4 nights. Only had towels for one. We called 4time still nothing. Our internet went out first night. They wouldn't do anything to repair. So we had no TV for daughter to watch at all. Definitely not same place it was 4 years ago. Lady at front desk need to learn customer service. As a business owner myself customer service is key.

Beautiful lake, surroundings are magnificent. Rumbling Bald employees are great and very friendly.

Fabulous! The lake is beautiful. Took a pontoon out, just the two of us, for two hours. It was bliss and such fun. Sat each morning with a book while hubby went to the gym and swam in the pool. It was incredibly peaceful. Surrounded by mountains, lush trees, and peaceful quiet! Wonderful!

Went to the dirty dancing after party. Very good band, dancing, variety of music, food and drinks. Most of all, GREAT company! Wonderful time remembering a fun time period from the past, both from the lake lure area and ours growing up. ❤️

The wedding was great! The venue is beautiful and the staff had everything ready to go and was flexible enough to pivot the wedding inside within a half hour of the ceremony when it looked like it was going to rain! It was great to work with them. The only complaint I had was that every question I had about the food was met with a shrug and an "I don't know". It happened twice with appetizers, once with an entree, and again with the cake. The cake I could understand but the food was their catering so… Short review: great wedding venue!

Taking my family on vacation here was a fantastic decision! There's so many great activities at the resort and the surrounding natural beauty of the mountains is incredible! Our cabin was three stories and perfectly sized for my full family. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to escape the busy city for a while.

Very family friendly. Kids love it here. The beach access and pool areas are great. Would have given it 5 stars if the restaurants served vegetarian or vegan friendly foods.

We are here at “Pinch Me” cabin having a grand time. Grandparents, parents, and grandchildren, ten of us in total. The men love the golf, the women are enjoying the spa and the kids are having a blast at the day camp. It has rained on and off everyday but has not dampened our spirits. We are having a great time. I gave Rumbling Bald 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lots of activities out of doors. Friendly staff. Roomy unit, a bit dated, but very clean. Take your own flashlight. Kitchen fairly stock with basic items. Good grocery store 7 to 8 miles away. Restaurants in resort. ,

Lots to do. Beautiful scenery. Friendly and helpful staff. We always have a great time. We've been taking our summer vacations here for 8 years. Always making wonderful memories.

Have stayed there via Wyndham a few times before. Beautiful scenery, and units decks look on to the woods. Very comfortable. Saw deer and had a squirrel visit our deck daily. 7 in our party. We had a problem with our unit and we were moved quickly to a different unit very quickly, plus were given a voucher for dinner on site for our trouble. Only issue I have is that Rumbling Bald charges for some amenities, like $6 per day rent for an inner tube for the lazy river at the pool. And $35 each for paddle board class. We are used to Wyndham amenities all included. Close to Chimney Rock. I wld stay there again.

Lots of. Condos and several houses to stay in. They have dinner a great job having plenty of things to do on site. Going off site is a 1/2 hour for most things. Zip lining is close by. Golfing is great. Pools are very nice and not crowded. Lake beach is nice but sort of small.

Great location for family. Lots of activities. Pool, miniature golf, beach on the lake, water sports, and so much more. Beautiful setting. Hard drive to get there, but worth it.

The cabins are wonderful. Has a fireplace. Very spacious and clean. Whirlpool hot tub in room. The pool area is also very spacious, with two pools, a children's pool and a lazy river. They also have putt putt, a golf course and a beach at the lake area. There is also a pier for boating.

4 stars because I didn't actually stay there. The resort seems very nice, lots of amenities in one place. Restaurant with great views and food. Nice beach area and very family friendly.

Gorgeous location and fascinating history. Glad to have my friend Lori as our driver through winding, mountainous roads and her husband, Dave, as our boat captain! Jim — Lake Lures pontoon captain, regaled Peggy, Lori and I with his stories of the Lake and homes. Most interesting to us was the connection to Buffalo, New York which is close to our home in Rochester. You'll have to visit to learn more!

Beautiful surroundings, well kept grounds, outdoor pool is great, marina has plenty of options for a reasonable rate, gym had lots of equipment, but lacked free weights. Pool could use a few more umbrellas and towels are $2. Indoor pool/ hot tub/ sauna area a little funky and dated. "Trails" were mostly just roads through housing areas. Overall a great experience with plenty of fun to be had!

Very pretty area. A little difficult to find. Close enough to Lake Lure, the town, to be able to do some shopping. Absolutely great restaurants in the area.

We stayed in the Apple valley part. Yes it was nice but the TV had no channels the dishes was nasty. I can go on and on. We could have saved money by going somewhere else.

I visited here with my family at Thanksgiving, which is the off season. We only utilized the swimming pool as we were staying off site with other family members. The pool was fine, nothing special, somewhat small. Facilities and buildings were in good condition. I can't speak for how crowded it might get here since it was the off season.

Very secluded and exclusive. I like the fact that the staff is very friendly, cordial and knowledgeable. I'm already making plans to return next year and I just got home from my trip there!

We stayed for 2 night at the 2 bedroom villa. it was fine to stay and I loved the environment and scenery. Only problem is the bed in the room was terrible condition. Make noise every time moves and vented middle of bed. Very uncomfortable. And the dirt in everywhere so when heater was working I feel like I am drinking dirt.

Beautiful place. It was quiet and very relaxing during Thanksgiving week. A bit cool and had frost the day we left. Absolutely beautiful to walk that resort. Golf course was beautiful. Leaves were still showing some color and mountain backdrop made it very enjoyable with a cozy fireplace in our cabin.

Went for a wedding, looks to be a nice resort. Have ate the restaurant there in the past when vacationing at lake lure. It was nice as well.

A nice enough place. Roads are a bit of a mess, and there's no good quick way to drive from one side of the lake to the other. But all in all a nice place. There's an amazing mountain bike loop. I would highly recommend it. Lots of swoopy down hill stuff. That is if you can make it to the top first.

Fabulous location, best accommodations ever, loved golf courses, thought Legend's renovation was great… really need to work on food and beverage service maybe more staff? Kitchen 1/2 a football field away from bar and same service person is torn 2 different directions all the time… need a drink please… go 1 way… need food please… they have to go completely the other way= SLOW… remedy. 1 food server and 1 bar server per table at least at the beginning of new customers arriving… just a suggestion from a 45 yr. Hospitality vet.

Wonderful resort, beautiful lake, and great restaurants. Stayed at "Doc's Holiday" through VRBO fantastic house with a beautiful view, and fantastic, relaxing creek on the property. Great getaway!

An absolutely beautiful resort in the mountains of North Carolina just 1 hour east of Asheville. There is a lovely swimming lake on the property, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, mini-golf, regular golf, a small playground, a spa, 2 restaurants and a couple of shops. A great family getaway within driving distance of DMV. The only shortcomings are that the restaurants leave quite a bit to be desired, and if there is inclement weather, there is almost nothing to do with the kids. It is really lovely overall though with some gorgeous views, and very relaxing. One word of caution, beware the bears and read up on how to avoid contact!

Stayed for a few days at privately owned house. Rumbling Bald is a great getaway in the mountains. Lots of things to do within the community. (fishing, golfing, boating, tennis, restaurants). Lots of fun stuff around it as well (zip lines, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding). Just a nice, family friendly, change of pace. Will make it a regular stop every year.

Beautiful location, breathtaking views, and plentiful amenities. This resort boasts everything you'd need for a mountain retreat. The grounds are well maintained and the staff is friendly. You'll find no shortage of things to do. Tennis, golf, water sports, hiking, or treat yourself to a spa day. It's all here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It had a nice place to to stay or visit. The view was very beautiful.

Enjoyed our stay! The kids did not want to leave. It is some of the best views around. We brought a huge cooler of food to the beach but someone appeared to take our order when we sat down. The pool area was nice. The ice cream man doubles as a bartender right there in the ice cream shop
All staff was very friendly. I hate we missed the Smores on the beach Saturday evening.

Great amenities, helpful staff, and good atmosphere. Everything on the property is within a fun walking distance. If you go into town, I suggest taking a boat across the lake instead of driving. It will save you an hour or more of driving.

The natural beauty is hard to match at another venue. • Beautiful Lake Lure offers water sports and pontoon sight-seeing. • Wonderful side-trip opportunities for guests – Chimney Rock, Asheville and more. • Two “national class” golf courses in outstanding condition with affordable green fees. • The chef who prepared our rehearsal and reception dinners delivered meals everyone raved about… a challenge with small groups and usually unheard of when serving 200 people. • RB provided us a list of wedding planners. We chose Mary Bell who was among the best people we’ve ever worked with. We believe any bride AND venue will benefit from Mary’ planning / implementation expertise. The resort was in the middle of a transition during our daughter's wedding. The new management team is implementing their plan, which could lead to a 5 star rating by the end of 2017.

My family fell in love with Rumbling Bald Resort! We stayed at Barefoot Lodge about four minutes up the mountain. Anyway, the staff was very pleasant and helpful! We had access to all the resort amenities… three pools, a lazy river, hot tub, private beach, corn hole, basketball, a gym, kayaking, and more. They even had putt-putt and you could play two games for only $5. And one night they even set up fire barrels on the beach and provided all the fixings for their guests to roast marshmallows and make s'mores. It was a great experience and our family is already looking forward to our next visit!

Always a great time here. Rooms are nice and clean. Lots of amenities. Any time we have ever had a problem they have done their best to fix it. We stay here often and highly recommend.

I went on December for relaxation. Lot of properties to choose from. Very good customer sercvice.

Rumbling Bald is a great resort to visit on quiet Lake Lure. The private beach and boat rentals were a big part of my stay there and it was great.

Not Wyndham resort so be prepared. Customer service not as good as Wyndham side of resort. Beautiful mountains.

Spent two nights. Beautiful area and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Will be visiting again.

It was in a great location with a beach, marina, wellness center, 2golf courses and lots to do with great views. I stayed on fairway villa 1003 with 8 people and it handled us quite well I highly recommend this place.

I have stayed many times at Rumbling Bald resort. Several weeks ago, we reserved a house at Rumbling Bald as is becoming a family tradition with my young children. This year we were actually able to let the kids invite their friends. Well, today, Rumbling Bald called us and said they had a "computer glitch" and if I didn't extend my stay to a full week, they wouldn't be able to honor the reservation. Translation — we screwed up and the owners are mad, but instead of us making it right, we are gonna screw you the customer. I am beyond irate and disappointed in Rumbling Bald. Update: the issue was NOT with Rumbling Bald but with a HomeAway/VRBO agent named Tracy. I complete redact the above complaint to Rumbling Bald. Whatever their technical glitches, they made the issue completely right. Thank you Rumbling Bald.

I rented a cabin (Creek Song) for Christmas 2015. The house was infested with lizards. Two hours after we arrived we found one on the microwave, 3 hours later our guest found one on the bed and several coming in the window. Again later that evening, another one on a bed. Everyone on the upper floor moved to the basement area. Of course nobody got any sleep because during the night they were seeing them in the bathroom. Then while outside talking to the front desk clerk I look up on the house an there was approximately 100 lizards going in and out of the bathroom window. The clerk sent the maintenance man down to take care of them and he recommended that they move us because there was too many in the house. He saw them running around on the floor. I paid $1370.00 and they reimbursed me $400.00 ($300 per night with one night we didn't stay) so I guess the other $100 was for putting up with them the other two nights. The office was closed on Christmas day. Some of my guess went back to Georgia because of the lizards, they said they would bite. I have someone checking to see if they could cause any serious injury. So far its been very nice. Except the mountain road of course.

Been coming here for over 35 years. One of the beat mountain resorts around.

One of the last local secrets. This resort is in a beautiful sounding and provides as many amenities if not more then any luxury resorts like Grove Park and others in the area. The Apple Valley Golf course will give you scenic views of the western north carolina mountains like no other.

I loved my first experience shooting a wedding at the Rumbling Bald Resort! The staff, food and location were beyond what I expected. I hope to shoot many more weddings there in the future!

Fantastic stay at this resort. There are a ton of things to do for families. Great golf experience as well. We had a very memorable family trip and will definitely be back again.

We had a rental NOT a timeshare, it was a great unit. A little dated style wise but who cares! fantastic view of the stream behind us, a bbq and great screened in back deck. The resort itself is ok, pool is nice, lazy river, mini golf etc. Staff not so much, onsite restaurant staff really need to step it up, waiting 25 min to get menus or even be acknowledged is bad. Lunch was a 90 minute affair just really long waits for everything. Staff in the fitness center/mini golf area need to cheer up or perhaps find another line of work. Some nasty ladies there. oh and the day we returned home is when we got our welcome package, map of the grounds etc. Overall not impressed by any staff there but the views/grounds are awesome.
