Review of Hyatt Place Greensboro 3*

This hotel, the management (specifically Pam Monroe) was the worst travel experience I have ever encountered. We booked 6 rooms 6 months in advance for a college athletic team. We confirmed the room 2 days before check-in and called again 1 hour before arrival. We were told at arrival (11:21 pm) that they did not have our rooms. They managed after 45 minutes to get 4 rooms. (Two of these rooms did not have double beds so we had athletes sleeping on the floor. There was no offer of cots or extra bedding. ) Finally, after almost 2 hours of standing in the lobby, we get two “dirty” rooms. One was not dirty and the other one had not been cleaned. This is, again, after 2 hours of standing in the lobby they miraculously have a clean room. Pam Monroe did not offer to reduce the rates of the rooms and said that it really didn’t matter that we had reservations or a confirmation number. Ms. Monroe also stated that the offer was made to move us to another property. This offer was made to us by the front desk worker who told us we would have to get to the property and it was our responsibility to call and book a room. We couldn’t do this since we were traveling on a chartered bus. By law, bus drivers have to be off the road for a certain amount of hours and our driver had to park the bus. The front desk worker did not mention or offer the shuttle service. ) I am a Vice President at a college and travel 20-25 weekends a year. I also oversee all of the hotel listings for our institution. I can assure you we will never use Hyatt again. Ms. Monroe’s attitude was offensive, abrasive and highly unprofessional. She reminded me twice that she left her home to help resolve this issue and that she did NOT have to listen to me as I was clearly “just upset and being nasty. ” I can honestly say that in 25 years of extensive travel this was the most inconsiderate and undertrained staff I have ever encountered. I will be making recommendations to the conference, all athletic teams and parents (15 rooms for our team alone) that this hotel NEVER be used in the future until there is a change with the operations manager.
