Even with the COVID-19 protocols in place (makes me VERY happy as a healthcare professional), the staff are great. The rooms have been nicely updated, and Marriott status is recognized and appreciated.
The worst experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay at this location or any Marriott in the future especially after what we went through. We drove from out of town, (over 7 hours away), to arrive in New York for a wedding. We usually love Marriotts so we recommended all of our friends stay at that location so we could all go to the wedding together. My husband checked in online the night before. When we arrived that evening, my husband was taking a VERY long time checking in. He came to the car and said “we don’t have a room and they canceled our reservation. ” Mind you — no one called us, just sent that lovely email at 12:18 PM the DAY we were checking in. I don’t know about you all, but we don’t check emails WHILE DRIVING. There was no way for us to have known our reservation was canceled and the hotel did not have a backup plan for us upon our arrival. The gentleman he spoke to stated there was nothing they could do and that there was no manager on duty. I immediately went into the building and a younger woman named Stephanie appeared and stated she was the manager. LIE She wasn’t the manager because the gentleman had already told my husband no one was there. I went round and round with her and asked her repeatedly to call the manager of the location. She refused multiple times and straight up told me “he doesn’t work on weekends so I cannot call him. ” LIE She called her manager after we left (I’ll get to that).

If it was possible to give no stars I would. We stayed here for a wedding. We called and booked 2 adjoining rooms so our 5 year old could have her own space and a friend of ours who was also attending the wedding could stay in the extra bed. When we arrived we were told there were no adjoining rooms and our child would be 3 doors away from us. Obviously that wasn't ok so we switched to a double with a pull our sofa and packed into one room. The bride had arranged for continental breakfast which was not provided. The shuttle was late picking up the bridal party. They also stopped running the shuttle at 10:45 but the wedding ended at 11. The shuttle was also not available at 9:30 when we left with our tired child so we had to Uber back. The bride had arranged for a bagged to go breakfast which also was not provided. Since everything else had been incompetent I checked before I left that only 1 room was charged in our name. They confirmed but had changed the other reservation to our friend's name and we were charged for 2 rooms. All calls go straight to a busy signal. Stay away from this hotel! They are woefully incompetent.
