Reviews of Kimpton Hotel Theta, an IHG Hotel 4*
Love the location! Friendly staff and my room had a nice view!
Hotel is located amongst theatres which are reopening with excellent dining all around. Rooms are quite and upper floor rooms have excellent views.
Wonderful experience and good attention thanks.
I reserved and I went to the hotel today and they where overbooked, after they confirmed it and everything. And the excuse was because someone else payed more than me, that’s not an answer because I reserved two months before and when I got there today they didn’t have my room. I do not recommend it.
I loved the period that I was staying at this hotel. Excellent location, with comfortable accommodation and attentive service. Regards.
Was a great place to stsy. Clean and next to time square.
The staff were consistently rude and not willing to answer questions about the parking without being blunt or sarcastic, the rooms were small and outdated considering it was meant to be a Deluxe room costing an extra £25 per night. I then had 2 extra charges placed on my account for parking even though I had already paid up front and only one of which has been refunded. We then had to experience our friends room smelling of cannabis and staff couldn't even be bothered to offer to move room for him so he had to put up with that and wasn't offered any form of compensation. Certainly won't be staying here again, it's not what is expected of a Hilton hotel. Next time I'll stay at the Crowne Plaza hotel just a short walk down, cheaper and better customer care and service.
My experience at the Hilton Garden Times Square (8th Avenue) was awful. They clearly do not care about their guests. After many years as a loyal Hilton customer, I am actually shocked. With contacting Hilton corporate directly, they clearly did not read the email and passed off my complaint “directly to the hotel”. The same hotel that did not help me when I was there. Incredibly disappointed. While I’d like to add an upside, the location is great for tourists in the theater area.
Good diced rooms, fridge and microwave. Not that we used the microwave but the fridge was full.
Very clean room. Friendly staff. In the center of the city, subway station a block away, close to all sites.
Great staff beautiful rooms clean nice place to stay please try.
Room that we stayed in have a funky odor, manager came & said there’s no odor but me & the other person can smell it. We couldn’t move anywhere bcoz the hotel is booked. That’s why I can not recommend this hotel at all.
Upon arriving everything was nice. The inside was beautiful and had a 24hrs mini-store. The bellhop was very rude and the valet didn’t speak English so it took a minute for our vehicle to be parked ☺️
Perfect location for things in and around Times Square. Location is one block off of Broadway, which made it a little quieter and a little less foot traffic. A perfect "home base" for us to pop in for a rest, change clothes for a show, etc. Have stayed at this hotel at least three times. Fridge and microwave in the room was nice to have.
Historic building, great service, perfect location‼️
Such a great, affordable and convenient spot, steps to Times Square and everything.
I booked this hotel for location and roof top bar… NO bar or roof top bar. Lots of construction outside as well which was not advertised … room is very small as well. Location is Just OK.
This hotel was okay. The check in/check out process was pretty fast. They gave us complimentary waters (2 per day), and there's a little convenience store and a snack shop inside. I wish the gave free breakfast, though. The room was okay, but a little old. The bed was comfortable enough, and we slept well. The location is excellent and close to so much. The theater district and Restaurant Row are steps from the hotel. I might stay here again if there aren't better options.
This is a fabulous location and a fabulous hotel. From the moment of a delightful Check-in up to the time you go to sleep, expect wonderful things both inside the hotel out. Staff are very kind and accommodating to all. Cozy, clean delightful rooms make this a sought after hotel. I strongly recommend it.
Stayed here for 5 nights whilst exploring the big Apple. The rooms are surprisingly large when compared to that of other NYC hotels, from what we were told and having visited relatives in another hotel nearby. The room itself was nice and clean, as was the bathroom. The reception area was bright and welcoming and we didn’t struggle as a result of the facilities on hand. We would have liked to have experienced the roof bar a little more, the one occasion we did go up there we were sent away soon after as there was a private event on, but to be fair it’s New York we didn’t struggle to find a bar! The best assets for this hotel is its staff and it’s location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it’s great being so close to Times Square without being too submerged in all of the craziness. You can literally step in and step out as you choose. I would definitely return.
Staff is friendly and the location is perfect. Rooms are clean, nicely appointed and significantly larger than anticipated. Located directly next to the parking garage — you pull in and attendant meets you and parks your vehicle for you, so no stress trying to find a spot. We're in town to see Hamilton and the theater is a 2 minute walk — literally around the corner. Pizza, diners, street vendors galore. Will absolutely stay here for our next visit!

Very nice room professional staff. The view was amazing. I’d stay there again.
Rooms were clean and comfortable but some of the front desk staff were rude and slow-moving. Waited longer than other hotels for check-in, even though it wasn't busy. Paid for a room with points online, but ultimately had to pull out a credit card to pay at the desk (get confirmation ahead of time if you're using your points! They didn't put an effort to make this easier on my party other than saying "we can't help you, you can't pay with points at the front desk")
Hotel was easy for getting around Times Square. Don't complain, all NYC hotel rooms in this price range are small. You can't afford more, so enjoy what you came to NYC for… Which wasn't the hotel.
I did not stay overnight but I ate at the attic rooftop bar, which is a nice experience. Also, the Hilton is within walking distance to the Broadway theatres, which was my main purpose in NYC. The convenience is great for anyone visiting NYC for Broadway. It's a great experience.
The location is right in the heart of everything. Very close to multiple subway stops and tourist attractions. I was initially skeptical of my room, being directly in front of the ice machine, but it was extremely quite. Comfortable bed, spacious room, but very small bathroom. As with most places in the area, the lobby is swarming with loud, malodorous tourists and fudgecicle juice stained children, crammed into every square inch. Thankful the rooms and service are both above average.
Good location, easy access, parking nearby!
Was just so so. The price to location ratio is average. However I've stayed at HGI in Alabama that was much nicer. I just expected nicer. The rooftop bar was never open during my stay.
Rooms are pretty standard. We were able to check in early and Wi-Fi was fast. On the way up to our room we saw that they had a rooftop bar. We were interested in having a nightcap at the end of the day and figured the rooftop bar would offer a great view. Unfortunately the bar was closed for renovation. Not sure when they will reopen. Hotel is really conveniently located, only one block off of times square.
The hotel is very well managed. The staff is very nice and greet you upon entry to the hotel. As for the rooms I am very pleased. They are very nice and for those who are staying more than a night, beds are made daily.
I was here for a conference a and their rate was the best price available. The hotel had spacious rooms with comfortable amenities. The view of Times Square was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and intend to.
The room was very clean and comfortable.
Very good hotel, except that the food sales sector was sooo expensive.
The concierge Domingo a genius! Wi-Fi Good.
Exactly what you expect from a hilton garden inn. Great value bit be aware there is no real double glazing in these rooms so you will get street traffic noise into the early hours. Really convenient location for times square and good food places and for travel on a budget I would definitely put this place on the list of hotels to consider.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Got a great rate for this hotel, saw good reviews. For the rates, in NYC, this is gold! Service is top notch!. Rooms are great. Restaurant awesome. Stayed here for Business, but come to the city often for pleasure and will stay here again for sure!
Excellent location, easy access to Metro (several nearby stations), very comfortable rooms, impeccable cleanliness, comfortable bed, excellent attention of all staff. Highly recommended.

The average hotel around the corner is Times Square. The rooms need to be repaired. Breakfast is very modest.
Location was great for us because we were in the city to see a few shows. Room was clean. 2 bottles of water were complimentary which we always appreciate as travelers. One problem we had was trying to contact the front desk by phone multiple times from our room and no one ever answered.
Incredible views … corner room top floors looking almost eye level with Times Square ball. Great staff. Three floor to ceiling windows. Spectacular.
Very nice, very well located, close to everything. Excellent attention.
Great location, two blocks away from times square! The rooms are huge compared to other places we looked, staff are very friendly and know all the tips to give to travelers while staying there. Bed was very comfortable and they gave 4 pillows which was great since my wife likes to hog them all, meaning I got aleast one lol We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel since there was so many places a stone throw away from the front door. (Straight across the road is a times square dinner which you get 10% off and is so good most of the time you have to wait to get in, if the line isn't to big wait because it's worth it. ) There is a pod machine for coffee in the room but no glass cups or mugs, just paper cups which they replace daily. Clean rooms, the only thing that didn't look so clean was the Donner cover which was a off white but it wasn't that bad so that's why I gave them a 5 star.
Excellent rooms, very clean and bright. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price is right for the quality. For some it may be a problem that at the front desk almost no one speaks Spanish.
The entrance looks more for a bar but it is a good hotel.
Very very disappointing! Lousy room service — the stain of our suitcase rolls was still there after 4 nights (not changed) — at minus 12 degrees there was a day and a night for no heating and no hot water! But the best came to the end! According to the booking confirmation, we booked the hotel for 560 dollars (4 days), but when we arrived at home I noticed that my visa was charged with 1300 dollars! We immediately complained and reclaimed the money! The hotel has not responded to today (we were from the 4th 1bis8.1da) to any of our reminders! A giant mess — don't touch that shed! PS. Why do I have to assign at least one star here to send out a post.
Fantastic hotel very well located in Times Square. Excellent deal.
We always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, Times Square. We spend one week two times a year for a total of 14 days a year. It’s staff is excellent, the rooms are large and comfortable and the rates are good. One suggestion, which I hope will be acted upon — the doors on each room slam shut. Unless you carefully hold them and slowly close them, they let out a huge bang whenever anyone enters or leaves their room. Not so bad in the middle of the day, but horrendous in the early morning or late at night. Have never had this problem at other hotels. Hoping someone will see this and fix the problem.
The building is well maintained with good beds and fixtures. Housekeeping and front desk service is quick and efficient. The location is great for anyone wanting to stay in Midtown. Despite the busy part of town I will be returning to this Hilton.
Very disappointed with this stay. First I find a glove on the floor next to my bed… that wasn’t mine. I guess that the cleaners too some shortcuts. Next instead of the standard good quality breakfast we get a voucher for the “cafe” with some of the items not available. I asked for a cappuccino instead of the mop water they served behind the counter but I was told no. Then instead of the bruised bananas they had on display I asked for a snack bar but again no substitutes. I ask for bottled water instead of the boxed milk or orange juice… again no substitutes.
The hotel staff was friendly and professional so this seems to be a management issue. I’m a Diamond member and have stayed at many Hilton Establishments worldwide. I will not be back to this one.
My stay at the Hilton Garden In Times Square was wonderful, the service was quick and responsive. My room was clean and well finished. The location was ideal for those who want to be in close proximity to attractions such as Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park.
The location in the heart of Manhattan is perfect, almost everything is feasible, Central Park has 15mn on foot, metro and taxi at hand.
If your American is still a beginner, ask Jules (Porter) who speaks French well.
Great room, maintenance well done, a big downside all the same the hotel is aging, and lacks much elegance for a Hilton, it does not support the comparison with a lot of hotel of the same sign, it is a pity because the photos do not reflect the Reality.
We have stayed in this hotel four times in the past year and we absolutely love it! Our last visit was two weeks ago and we were able to check in as soon as we got there. The doormen go completely out of their way to help us at every stay (walked our bags to the parking garage and helped load the car). The rooms are super clean and beds are comfy. The hotel is in a perfect location; Times Square, Rockefeller, 5th Ave, Central Park and subway right around the corner. I will only stay at this hotel from now on unless I win the lottery and can afford The Plaza! haha.
The hotel is in a great location for Times Square, 8th & 9th Avenue which has some lovely restaurants.
The rooms were great and we had a fabulous view on the 15th floor. Cleaned daily with clean towels and a fab coffee machine.
Our room was located next to roof top bar and we only heard it once so I spoke to reception and they dealt with it.
The staff were very helpful and polite.
I was slightly disappointed as the restaurant facility was being refurbished and we had booked in February but had not been informed, I would have expected to be advised and given the option to move considering we were staying in a Hilton Hotel.
Hilton Garden inn suites is a great Hotel to stay in when travelling to new york as it is very close to Times Square and restaurants. The hotel has many friendly staff and the rooms are greatly sized with room cleaning coming frequently. Only Downside is that there was no hot water for one of the nights, and also our refrigerator was not working either.
Excellent location for travelers. Close to the whole NY move.
A great hotel with an amazing location with very helpful people. The room was quite big, the king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was always spotless. The only bad thing I can point out is that there was no room service (I think it's due to the hotel buffet remodeling or something like that) but the room is equiped with a microwave and a tiny refrigerator. It's a good option if you are looking for something nice but not very expensive.
The room is really spacious and had a great View. I did have to upgrade view. It was a king suite recently updated very clean and modern. Location was great walking distance from any attraction. Staff of kind and courteous.
We stayed at the hotel in late Sept, 2017. I was disappointed by two things that were not told to her upon check in or during the first 2 days of our 4 day stay. They were changing over the water system. We should have been told about it because the bathroon cold water faucet had hot water. The water had to run for several minutes until it is was cool enough to wash our hands. The second thing about our stay was the air condition system wasn't working properly. We tried to get the air down to 72 at night but it was over 76. Had to change our room to get someone cooler room.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Super courteous staff, very accommodating. Held our baggage until 9 p. M. The day of checkout. Rooms were small but very nice and clean. What you expect from a Hilton hotel. They gave us complimentary breakfast sense we couldn't stay another night there because they were sold out. Would go again.
We were given early check-in by requesting it after 8am (as instructed at the time of booking) and waiting for the rooms to be cleaned beginning at 9:30am. We got our room at 10am. We were thrilled to get some much-needed rest after a delayed overnight flight from Oregon. We were given a voucher for 2 complimentary bottles of water as the on-site restaurant was under renovation & closed. The 24-hr Times Square Diner directly across the street has amazing service, a large & diverse menu with large portions, and was very affordable in comparison to nearby restaurant options. Our room was a large corner king suite with full-size sofa and a view, but the bathroom was quite small. The door nearly hits the toilet which was snugly against the tub side, so it was uncomfortable for either of us to sit squarely on the toilet. The bathroom does not have a vent, so we showered with the door open. The bed was comfortable, but the carpets could use replacing due to excessive stains. The notepad on the desk still had bank information written on it from a prior guest. It made us question the quality or attention of the cleaning/turnover service. Our view was great as we were situated on a corner looking directly down a busy, marquis-fulled street. It was a great stay for the 1 night and the hotel location will be one we remember for future stays. Highly recommended, because despite any issues… it has been our best stay in NYC to date.
VERY LONG, but for anyone wondering if they should stay at this Hilton location — — no questions asked. YOU SHOULD! (very clean & AMAZING staff) Here's my personal reason why: When I first arrived and checked into NYC I went to my Hilton Garden Inn Times Square hotel and I was greeted by the SWEETEST woman that worked the front desk. As she checked over my information she saw on my reservation that I flew in from Tampa, Florida (she also picked up on beat red face from crying previously because of all the news I was hearing throughout the day about Hurricane Irma moving westward). After she kindly apologized for the circumstance and tried lifting my spirits, she went to the back to get her manager who too was also one of the KINDEST humans I have ever met. They not only cut the price for my stay for any additional time I needed at their hotel but offered myself & my team any kind of voucher they had to make our stay "as comfortable as possible". After all was said and done at the front desk, the manager personally walked me all the way to my room and consistently offered his prayers and anything else he could give to help our situation which I was so incredibly appreciative of and taken back by his more than customer service hospitality. Before he left me at my door, he said something that I will forever remember which was "I know you're very sad and scared right now but just know that people care".
A great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. But very noisy can hear the people talking in the room next door.
Good comfort. Good location.
Gave our booking away a couple hours before we arrived, leaving us stranded at 2am.
We had booked 8 months in advance, came from Australia.
Wouldn't recommend… doesn't even deserve 1 star. Go somewhere else.
Super courteous staff, very accommodating. Held our baggage until 9 p. M. The day of checkout. Rooms were small but very nice and clean. What you expect from a Hilton hotel. They gave us complimentary breakfast sense we couldn't stay another night there because they were sold out. Would go again.
Wonderful hotel. Close to everything. Within walking distance to theaters, restaurants, delis, shops. There is so much to do and see and staying at this hotel puts you right in the center of it all! We loved it here. All staff was friendly and courteous and went above and beyond to assist in any way they could. Thank you for making our first trip to NYC extremely enjoyable!
Good location Question Quality-Price c is just perfect! Very good experience, kitchenette just what it takes… In short I am fulfilled! (Between us C is really sooooo suitable or even more than suitable for the price! After c is just to sleep you are not going to stay in the room all the time! ) Go with your eyes closed! The location is great!
Great. Great hotel. Perfect location. Super Pro staff.
Very well placed
Rooms a little small and aging but very clean
Nice staff.
Noisy but spacious. Breakfast was due to be included but cause work was impossible to enjoy.
Great location. We had a corner room which was spacious. Everything is in good repair. I'm not crazy about the mattress. I think it's memory foam which is very hard and so very hot when trying to sleep. Elevators are crazy busy at times but the staircase is an option if you aren't too high. I would consider staying here again.
Relaxation, comfort and emotion.
My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn early April 2016. I can only say, lock up stuff you don't want taken from your room. My wife purchased Nike sneakers, socks and other garments at the Nike store, all for $189. Our son and daughter who live in NY were given the other garments which they took out of the room. We left one morning, returning late after 10 PM. The Nikes were gone. We could have easily claimed the entire bag of $189 worth of goods was gone. We didn't because that would have been dishonest. My wife went down stair and immediately reported the issue to the front desk. They took down information and said they would get back to us. Apparently their process is to run these issues through their insurance company, Liberty Mutual/Helmsman Management Services. The insurance company claims they haven't been able to resolve this due to a union issue and their inability to talk with them. Quite frankly, that isn't my problem. What I do find most interesting is that I'm a Diamond Hilton member. Apparently Hilton tells you that you are important, but in realty they don't care. I waited for a month before I tried contacting Hilton through their contact us selection on their web site. I've never received a response from this either. We only want the reimbursement of the sneakers, at $130 plus tax. Lock your doors and don't leave your room. You don't know what will be missing when you return, nor will you be able to make a claim and have it resolved.
I really liked this place, but the location is not the best. Its hard to take a subway here or take a bus. The service is amazing and the bathrooms are very clean. The food is amazing and is served very quickly. The rooms are neat and the beds are super soft. The TV has many awesome channels. There is free ice which is a plus and a refrigerator. This hotel is great, but the location is a little bad.
I have stayed here several times in the past. I travel to NY almost 2-3 times a month. I logged in 2 days before my reservation to cancel through the Hilton site, but apparently the cancelation did not go through. When I called, the manager told me that they would not work with me on the late cancelation and that they would still be charging me. I asked her if the $400 for tonight was worth losing the thousands I would be spending in the future and she said yes… Maybe Hilton should hire smarter thinking and more friendly managers. Avoid this location at all costs!
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was actually quite large for nyc and the view of 8th Avenue are pretty great. Oh and the beds are clean and convey but this hotel best feature is the location with Broadway only blocks away and central park within walking distance. It was a wonderful stay I would highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms are fairly small, but that is to be expected in NYC. Entire hotel is clean and well maintained, and the staff is helpful but not intrusive. The hotel doesn't have a great view, but it's in a great location with a few subway options for getting around.
It is a great hotel horrible stay. Try the one on 42nd they are a lot better. While my stay here I got heavily harassed and I mean HEAVILY. I'm not sure if it was because I was young (24) or because I'm black but the door men harassed me at night upon entry, like my hands full of bags and them asking to see my room key so they know I really stay there. Mind you I've been here for 3 days. And today, my last day I had someone enter my room NO KNOCK OR ANYTHING ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS! I'm Naked in my room preparing for a 4 he drive home and 3 times people just walked in my room. THAT IS SO RUDE! And for us to be paying that much for these rooms let me tell you know that doesn't include privacy!. And they say they have breakfast like other hotels but when u get here they tell u it an additional $17 per person! I had just came from the holiday in in time square with lower rates and breakfast. I mean REAL BREAKFAST pancakes, eggs, sausage, buscuits, yogurt, oatmeal, everything. My stay here has been BEYOND DISAPPOINTING and I will never stay here again!
The hotel is pretty average, but in a decent location; combined that makes it a three-star. However, the advertised rooftop lounge is a total joke. It is *not* part of the hotel but a separate venue called The Attic, which is a dress-attire-required expensive bar. I'm not that surprised, but I found it misleading. I had hoped to at least get a small view of the area from the hotel; but it's not going to happen. The staff was very helpful and check out was a breeze. Room service was just fine.
Clean … comfortable … nice room … in Center. Everything at your feet … perfect!
The hotel is in a great location. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. Didn't have any problems with the stay.
I stayed at the Times Sq location on Tuesday Feb 23, 2016. While it is a nice, clean hotel, my room was freezing cold and the thermostat wasn't working at all. It was a wet snowy cold day and I had been out in that weather all day without an umbrella and wanting to come to my warm for a hot shower and some heat. When I contacted the appropriate department to have it looked at, I did get immediate service. I would definitely stay at the hotel again. It was close to everything I wanted to get to and more. The staff was friendly and polite. There was no mention of breakfast and so I went outside of the hotel to eat. For the inconvenience of the room situation, I was offered a generous amount of points to my rewards card.
The rooms were clean and neat and extremely comfortable. The service was polite, helpful, and professional. We will definitely stay again.
The staff I interacted with was courteous and friendly and were able to answer any questions I had. The room I stayed in was great; clean, comfortable and spacious (for a hotel room). Plenty to eat and do in the immediate area and had a subway stop about 2 blocks away (a few minutes walking distance).
I love this location, an easy walk to theaters and Restaurant Row but not in the midst of the Times Square crowds. The rooms are very nice, a decent size, and the hotel is very clean and recently redone. I will definitely return. I do dislike the constant need to log on to an inadequate wireless connection. One a Hilton Honors member has logged in once they should have a Starbucks experience and be logged on every time they return.
Great service and location near Time Square. The breakfast for HHonors Gold members was provided by a restaurant that was next to the hotel. The taste of their food was rather lacking in flavor but this is not the fault of the hotel.
Excellent service. I would definitely pick this over the other Times Square location because it is quieter. There is a subway station directly across the street. You are a 5 to 10 minute walk away from everything from Rockefeller Center — Broadway. To Times Square. There is a convenience store fully stocked with cosmetics and snacks for your room directly across the street. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. The view is terrific and we really couldn't have asked for anything better.
Great stay, the staff were very helpful. Location-wise, not so great — can be a little overwhelming to walk right onto Times Square, but also helpful if you want to be right in the thick of it from the moment you step out of the lobby.
Excellent balance between price and profit. Good location close to Tmes sqr, port authority station, the metro in the next block, excellent service and attention. Free Wi-Fi in the room that lets you make calls by watsup or skype, including movies by netflix, if you want more speed have a rate of 5 dollars daily to a top, not necessary connection for this tourist. Breakfast is not included but Argentine breakfast you don't buy it, achieved with the complimentary coffee that exist in the lobby or in the room has something of the kiosk, microwave and minibar. The bathroom has a bathtub. The rooms are large excellent for couple with 1 child. Contrataria again.
Perfect spot for a quick trip up to NYC. Great location with plenty of food/entertainment options close by. I thought the room was large for NYC standards and had updated decor. We were surprised that the big windows actually opened — awesome to get some fresh air! The in-room Keurig was a great amenity. The pillows were god-awful though, and there was no alternative in the closet, which I've experienced to be typical. They looked big & puffy, but were crushed down to nothing when laying on them. Wifi was complimentary, but only for up to 3 devices. We were on the 3rd floor facing the street & I was surprised at the lack of city noise at night — I totally expected to be kept up with honking horns, especially when I saw the earplugs provided in the bathroom, but everything seemed quiet! All staff members that we encountered were exceptionally friendly — check in was easy & a room was available before check-in time. Charles, the bellman, was truly outstanding. He remembered us each time we came & went, making pleasant conversation, and offering assistance when needed. Kudos to Charles! :) Some places nearby that I'd also recommend checking out — Bibble & Sip for a good cup of coffee & Ippudo Westside for delish Ramen! I would stay here again for sure!
Sound proofing on the 3rd floor left something to be desired. Otherwise, clean with hospitable staff (from my interactions). Great location (easy access to tourist sites, bars/restaurants, and very good for theater access) and got a good rate. Better sound proofing around the windows and doors (could hear street noise and doors slamming through the night but nothing above or below) and I would give 5 stars. My wife and I did walk from Penn Station without issue and didn't feel that the neighborhood was unsafe — just standard city-smarts and situational awareness.
Nice hotel & staff, good location (though the Times Square zone is growing and is routinely crowded). Minor gripes: Slow-heating water, slow Wi-Fi (20 MB should is no longer be considered a premium speed. 2 MB is no longer usable), and really awful daylight-colored CLF light bulbs! Please fix those :) Starbucks in the lobby! Yay!
For a first time visit to New York experience was nice. Staff was excellent. All of our needs were addressed in a timely manner. Concierge staff was excellent. A special thanks to Lakeisha.
Messed up my reservation. Got there and was told I booked for yesterday and would be charged regardless. Have to find another hotel day of in nyc.
Great location comfortable room and beds. Great staff at front desk especially Michael. First time in New York he gave us excellent hand written directions to get to Joe's Pizza in heart of Greenwich Village via subway. Four simply because of the age of the hotel.
Very clean hotel with built in restaurant. Beware not all rooms have view of times square. Room service is only between 5pm and 9pm. However there is a subway close to the restaurant.
In general very good location and room add-ons on the same. Excellent in general. Recommended.
It takes quite a bit of motivation for me to write a review, so this is not a bad review written in haste. In fact, it's 2am and I've been lying in bed unable to sleep since 10pm. So it's taken me 4 hours to get to this point, and clearly now eating into my holiday as I won't be refreshed for my day tomorrow. I'm sitting in the room now on the 15th (top) floor, I thought that would be nice until I realized that I've been put underneath/next to a night club and at the end of a hallway, where the music is clear and loud. To make matters worse, clearly hotel security has decided to neglect the fact that allowing drunks into the hotel, up to the 15th floor might be of concern to guests. Particularly while they're on their phone yelling at their friends to let them into the night club they can hear through the door and stirring several guests to open their doors to see what's going on. But there's no way of reporting that to hotel staff when the in room phone won't let you talk to reception. In fact, a busy tone is all that I can get, once I worked out how to dial reception that is, considering the number for reception isn't on the in room dialing information card. This is such a shame, the location of this hotel is amazing. But, the experience is distressing, and certainly not worth the fact that you WILL loose sleep here, and you will NOT be secure. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend you stay at this hotel.
Great and convenient location near the subway, supermarket and of course Time Square and Broadway. Nice size Deluxe Room with 2 Queen Beds. Didn't eat there as out all the time.
Perfect for us. The most accessible to Brodway/Times Square, Macy's Bryant, Park and Shopping. The Hotel Manager and my Friend is extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we in the area. Very well, Thanks.
Loved the hotel! Very good location for venturing in Manhattan and directly across from a subway stop. The staff was attentive and helpful. Parking is with the ICON parking company directly beside the hotel.
Honestly I expected more from a Hilton hotel. There's no one to help you with your bags. And after arriving from a 15 hour flight they told us they cancelled our reservation because there was no confirmation. The website didn't even say they needed a confirmation. The only good thing about it is their location but then again there are so many hotels with better locations on Times Square.
Excellent, nothing to reproach.
Awesome location right off Times Square and the subway. The rooms are also a really nice size. Check-in took a very long time. The lobby is cramped and the staff didn't seem very efficient. They don't consider themselves "full-service" so they only accommodate 1 piece of luggage for storage before heading for the airport. Clean and friendly staff.
Nice, clean room and bathroom, pretty view, but the service was poor. The bed comforter was wrinkled (as if it had been just used), the phone did not work nor the heat thermostat.
Stayed here this week for a mini honeymoon. We were happy to have a higher floor which was recommended under traveler tips. However, we did not know there would be music blaring from the rooftop bar on a Sunday night, our first night there. Fortunately, that was the only night we encountered that. The room was a decent size and the location is great! Our room faced 8th Ave. Which I didn't mind (can see the Hudson River). I would not recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel (Pigalle). We decided to have breakfast there one morning for the convenience. The food was not good at all. Toast was stale, bacon limp, potatoes barely luke warm. We ate as much as we could as we were on a schedule and didn't want to send the food back. The next day, I asked the concierge at the hotel for some good breakfast places and she said "you mean other than Pigalle's? " She proceeded to reluctantly provide me with the name of one other restaurant. Really?! We're in midtown and you are giving me one restaurant? Long story short, we did our own research and ended up at Sarabeth's on Central Park South. I would highly recommend it.
Overall, I expected more from a Hilton hotel. Good news: The hotel was clean with friendly and helpful staff. Location was excellent, very near to Times Square. Negatives: However, the room was small, air conditioning was on-off which made regulating the room temperature difficult, the concierge was uninspiring, and the bathroom door periodically closed on it's own, once catching my finger in the door. When I reported the incident to the hotel manager on-duty and showed her my purple-colored bruised finger, she replied "the bathrom door usually stays open" and asked if she could send someone to the room to check out the door, not concerned about my finger or the fact that I almost had to go to the ED. No one ever followed up to check the door or check to make sure my finger was okay. Overall Grade: B-, I expected more.
I was a year ago. Well located, quiet, with a good restaurant. We liked and is highly recommended.
