More love for Chris: He was awesome. Took the family (6 of us) into Manhattan for the first time in our 12 passenger van. We weren't your ordinary guests! Whoever runs this place knows how to find the best kind of people for their staff. From the moment we pulled up until the time we left we were very well taken care of. The staff was 100% courteous, totally helpful and behaved as if we had been there 100 times and we were friends. Chris (who was working the desk) chatted with us for a while and talked about the city and our trip and he was genuinely interested in talking with us. He gave out hotel business cards to the kids and told them that if, God forbid, they got separated from the family any policeman in the city could help them reunite with the family by giving them that hotel business card, which was a genius idea. He didn't have to do that, but it was a kind, genuine gesture that really helped those country kids to feel more secure in this beautiful maze of a city. From the valet to the front desk to the housekeeping staff we received nothing but kindness and smiles with exceptional service. And remember: that poor valet had to find a way to park a 12 passenger van in Midtown. They were amazing. Nothing can ruin a trip faster than the setbacks you generally run into with a large family in a large vehicle on a road trip (especially to Manhattan), but nothing makes a trip better than rolling up in a strange place and for the people there to tell you they have you covered and assuring you everything is taken care of. And for $150 a night. That's a deal! Like I said, whoever is running that place is a rockstar to be able to create a workplace with that kind of positive culture where the good service you receive is more than just obligatory good service, but a team of people who genuinely take pride in their work, their hotel, and their city. Well done guys and thank you Chris. =) Give that guy a raise!
