Very nice hotel. Comfortable beds and pillows. Attentive and friendly staff.

Great hospitality, clean rooms, great amenities, all around awesome stay. Unfortunately all my visits were during COVID-19, I can imagine how the social gatherings are there at breakfast when COVID’s done.

It is a cozy comfortable hotel good toilet beds, the receptionists are well friendly there is breakfast and it is excellent.

This hotel is an absolute disgrace. The customer service is baffling. I hope that management can turn this experience around. If not, a corporate phone call will be made upon this visit.

Stayed overnight for my uncle's wedding. Room was nice, simple and clean. Breakfast was alright but it could be better. I do enjoy their pancake machine, I thought it was really cool. I also really like that they have coffee, tea and hot chocolate outside in the lobby. Keeps be cozy and warm.

Very clean hotel staff very nice and helpful. When we arrived the room wasn't ready had to wait about an hour so we got into room about 6 pm. Just a couple of small things the faucet in living area had no cold water and the shower door doesn't keep the water in. The floor gets soaked no handle to close shower door, a little silly design. We got the suit because brought our son. But suit doors make of glass so no privacy. But other than that hotel was good location can't get any better.

Stayed one night while attending a wedding. Very clean. Very professional staff. Only issue were kids running knocking on doors but thats not their fault. Definitely a great stay.

Booked the hotel for our wedding recently. The sales manager was not easy to work with, we went for days without her answering our emails. The link and the group code never worked for the rooms we blocked and we ended up getting this response “I looked into it and there’s nothing else I can do. ” Elevated customer service would have been “let me do a little more searching to see what we can do to accommodate and figure out why the link isn’t working. ” And then it would’ve been resolved. But instead, my family and friends had so many complaints about booking the room and the group rate. I regret booking holiday inn for the wedding I should have booked the Marriott instead. Would have been cheaper too, they actually gave a better rate. I would never recommend to anyone this hotel. Yes, the renovations are beautiful and free Wi-Fi/breakfast is excellent, but the service was terrible. The bed is probably the highlight of our stay.

Very last min reservation but the staff were great and very courteous. We had to take a room with 2 beds as it was the last room available but it was clean and comfortable. This place is horrible! They gave me someone else’s reservation. Feel sry for that person and there family. I went to get breakfast at 9:10 am after paying $150.00 to stay in this dirty place and they put all the breakfast away. I asked if I can somehow please get something, anything to eat and they refused. What type of hotel stops breakfast at 9am. Absolutely ridiculous! This place is a knock off Hampton Inn. I’ll never ever stay or recommend a Holiday Inn again. Id rather stay at a local crappy hotel couldn’t be much worse. Small rooms small bathroom unfriendly staff. Not polite but quite rude. Also smells the county jail in here. I should be fully refunded for this horrible stay! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Solid option in Poughkeepsie. Rooms were clean and sizeable, the staff was friendly, courteous and very accommodating. There were also good options for a complimentary breakfast all in a convenient location for our event.

I'm the staff there were super friendly super helpful out of their way polite and hospitable and I actually really loved it there. I didn't realize it until writing this review is that usually had bad experiences other places and I'm always complaining about it but everything was perfect here.

The facilities were clean and the staff was polite. The newly renovated rooms were also a huge plus – lots of outlets and USB ports on the walls. On the final morning of our trip, my wife was feeling sick. When I explained that I was trying to get to a pharmacy to get medicine but was at risk of missing my train, the woman behind the counter arranged to have the house shuttle take us directly to the pharmacy, wait for us, then directly to the train station. That's hospitality. We made it to our train just in time for the doors to close behind us.

My go to place when I need a quick getaway. The jacuzzi suite is very nice. The staff here are friendly and accommodating.

Our room was clean and cozy, they have a Keurig in every room and a great Continental breakfast. We enjoyed our stay!

I have stayed here several times over the last year for business and I have to say how impressed I am with the recent remodel! The entire hotel has just transformed into a gorgeous showplace! I LOVE this Holiday Inn Express, it is literally my favorite HIE in the entire state, and the staff are always friendly and helpful! It's conveniently located, the rooms are always immaculate and they have a great breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area!

We reserved a room with them in advance. The day we were to arrive they called us and said they had to cancel our reservation as they Gave our room to someone else and there was no room for us. We will no longer use this hotel. If you want to feel confident in knowing your reservation is actually taken seriously and you'll have a guaranteed reserved room then don't Stay at this hotel.

Working construction 12 hr. Shift came back to motel and there was no hot water. They said they would have it back on in 15, 20 min. Wrong was the next day at 7 pm. Other than that rooms where clean and no bugs.

Room seemed to have been recently refurbished and included a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and enormous TV. Included breakfast was surprisingly good. Exercise room had a lot of equipment. The pool was okay. There was even a washer and dryer for laundry available. Pretty great experience for my family overall.

The Holiday Inn Express provided a wonderful experience for our guests during our wedding weekend. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was accommodating and pleasant to work with. Transportation to and from the Grandview, our wedding venue, was clear and easy. Overall, our experience at the Holiday Inn Express was fantastic, and we would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married in the Poughkeepsie area!

No way this place is a 3 star hotel. This is literally the worst hotel that I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. Just a few of the charming features: There was dried vomit between the bed and nightstand, a dried booger on the wall, explosive diarrhea covering the toilet and wall in the men's public bathroom… I could go on and on, but my favorite feature was the cable connecting the iron to the ironing board. Obviously this hotel attracts the quality of guest who like to steal irons! Worst hotel ever!

What a dump. Our room hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Literally. We found the previous tenant's invoice (from 2 weeks before) on top of the dusty TV stand. There were gross drippings on the bathroom floor, lamps were missing bulbs, the heat was broken. Asked for another room, heat was broken in that room too. Ended up in a room with 2 double beds (booked a king) with a broken TV but considered it a win because the heat worked. Front desk clerk promised a $20 discount, but never got it. Red flag of the year: We went to the Bonefish Grill across the street. Told the waitress we were staying there. She responded "… that place is OPEN? I had no idea! "

We had an amazing experience here. The staff was more than accommodating. The room was clean and spacious. The beds are comfy and inviting. Your stay includes a complimentary breakfast too. Breakfast was delicious. I must give a major shout out to Brian, who is in charge of the breakfast. It was so busy but he kept it stocked and clean.

This is not what I expected. The hotel rate is par with 3-4 star, the hotel lobby has no AC working and it's under renovation, in my opinion this property should not operate until renovated. The restaurant is close too. The tV is 10 years old with 4 working mono channel I have nothing against such places if the price is not so steep. The front desk agent had the audacity to call me on my cell at 8:30 pm and ask if I paid dog fee.? The whole darn reason for staying here is they advertise as pet friendly.

Matthew Wiggins, 5 stars? Wow, really? How long have you worked at this hotel? That's the ONLY reason I can think of anyone giving this place more than one star! I'm older than a millennial, so don't pull that crap on me. I've stayed in my share of sleazy disgusting hotels and this place is absolutely the worst I've stayed in! Everything said by others writing reviews is completely true, except your review Matthew Wiggins! Under renovation? My azz! I was there for several miserable days and saw no renovations going on. I only stayed there because my job booked that hotel for me. By the looks of the time stamps on these reviews, I'd say they've been doing their so called "renovations" for 6 years. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. I ventured down to the first floor only to see that it was totally vacant and smelled of mildew, as if it leaks each time it rains. Taking a shower was torture. The temperature wouldn't remain steady. It altered from freezing cold to scalding hot, back and forth every 5-10 seconds. I complained, got moved to another room and experienced the same issue. TV catches a whopping 15 channels or less, with a very poor signal/picture. Even though the stairwell smelled like someone vomited in it, that was the best smelling part of the building! And, I couldn't find an elevator. I do give credit when and where it's due, the staff was friendly. I NEVER write reviews, this place was so awful I just had to.

Victor Jimenez is a cry baby! All poor reviews are basically cry babies from the mellenial generation (those who think the world is owed to them) who don't understand this place is under renovation! Also the staff will do whatever they can in they're ability to please. I am part of this over privileged generation but I understand business and things aren't always perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just ok. Elevator was not working due to construction. Rooms do need a facelift.

Needed to change rooms because first room had bugs on windowsill. Bathroom was small with and inconvenient layout. 2 ice machines in whole hotel and 1 was broken. The only positive is the convenient location. I stay in Holiday Inn Expresses all the time and this is by far the worst.

Avoid this place unless you are really desperate for a room! $179.00 for one night. Old dilapidated room a 40+ year old mattress dirty, carpeting at least 30 years AC with missing knobs. just do your self a favor keep away from this place! Michael.

Was not pleased at all. For what they are charging a night you would expect a much cleaner/updated place to stay. Everything is so old and dingy. The wallpaper was peeling right off the wall in our room, and the bedding was probably at least 30 years old. It didn't feel like we would leave with bed bugs but they are trying to price like other hotels in the area, when other hotels in the area are much newer and nicer!

Rooms are nice, place is clean and the breakfast is just all other Holiday Inn Expresses are. TV's are larger which is great. I give this location a 3 star because the internet is horrible and as a business traveler, I rely on decent internet to do my work. The rest of the hotel is good.

RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Yes, zero stars would be genereous! We arrived at this supposed three star hotel (according to Hotwire — that's a complete lie and I will take that up with them as well! ) just to spend the night while in Poughkeepsie. The handful of cars did not bode well for what came next. There are fake signs on the front claiming to be building and electrical permits. The room was absolutely disgusting. I dont think there have been upgrades for thirty years or more. The electric plate was off with wires exposed, there was ripped carpeting, moldy, black tile, water damage on the ceiling, a broken piece of tile on the shower wall, a college type refrigerator on the floor with an old microwave on top of it, and oh, lest I forget, the giant old fashioned tv. No idea if the TV worked or not as we took the advice we are giving you. We left for home two hours away nixing our plans for Sunday. The man at the desk said he would refund our money to Hotwire. I don't know if I will get it back or not but I would never, ever stay at this place. I can not believe it is open for business. It is an absolute disgrace and Hotwire needs to acknowledge these reviews and stop sending people there! Do not book this creepy, old motel!

WARNING : TURN AROUND AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! sleep in your car instead. All the rooms the clerk showed us had windows open and was freezing cold. Place was filthy. Carpets were'nt vacuumed. Sheets were stained yellowish and place smelled awful. The TV didnt work. Glasses had flies in it. Was a mixture of psycho and the shining. Not a soul was there. Do not go here unless you are making a horror film. Full stop.

WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE I would give this place zero stars if I could. A terrible experience all around. First of all, upon check in, we were told that we couldn't have 4 adults in a room with 2 queen beds (never heard that one before). It was going to be 30 dollars extra per head. We were told it was "in the policy". I called three times: to make the reservation (saying we had 4 adults, and needed two queen beds), to confirm the reservation, and to ask if we could pay in cash. This was never mentioned. Upon arrival, there was a sign on the computer "100 dollars extra if you pay in cash-you will get it back when you check out. " Seriously?! Not only is that a huge scam, but it was never mentioned. We decided to find another hotel in the area. As the party was conferring about where else to stay in the area, a woman came up to the desk and said "My room is absolutely beyond disgusting. I want a refund. " We ran out of that place faster than you can imagine…

Blood stained sheets, ant infestation in the room, lights were broken and hanging by their shades, ice machine broken, human hairs and stains covering our room, then refused to be given a refund. Horrible ownership, management, and worst room I've ever stayed in. The ceiling tiles in the room were broken! Never again, do not stay here!

Very friendly staff. Hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. There for 10 nights and the breakfast was pretty good. Better than most hotels that put out cheerios and day old muffins. Decent omlettes, bacon, sausage pancakes etc. Definitely recommend.

If I could give 0 starts than I would have chosen that. This hotel is absolutely unorganized, a complete mess, and digusting. We pic over $100 for one night and when we got there they didn't even have a room for us. The service desk guy was going to give a room to another family that had made no reservations when I stood there showing confirmation numbers and charges on my credit card for proof that I booked a room. Because of the complications we had to settle for a smoking room. The hallway alone was gross. There were smeared things on the door some of which looked as if it were blood. Our room was clearly dusty. Half the channels on the TV didn't work and the other half were fuzzy. The front desk person was the only person in the hotel so call for extra towels or blankets were out of the questions. Guests were leaving the convenience of their hotel room just to get towels. The toilet was leaking the furniture was destroyed. I have stayed in hotels that had charged me less with much better quality. The fact they think they can charge the prices they do is outrageous. I can't even send a complaint surgery because they have no website no email and when you ask for a manager they ask as though the word has no meaning. This place is not worth anyone's money.

My boyfriend and I needed a last minute place to stay, when we stumbled upon this Holiday Inn. From the moment we walked in, the staff was exceptional. They were extremely accommodating, even suggesting local restaurants and attractions. The room was clean and spacious, and we were really happy with our experience.

I called on the 13th of June to try to reserve a room for the following weekend. The reservationist said her name was Julie, that they did have rooms available and put me on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and redialed and was immediately hung up on! I called a third time and a man answered and asked me to hold when I asked to make a reservation for the following weekend. I was forwarded to Julie who told me there were no rooms available. Customer service people are suppose to be at least polite! They were completely rude and didn't care about what I wanted. I travel frequently and know others that do as well. They've just lost a good deal of business because of their impolite reservations staff.

Convenience, Comfort and amenity-filled! After having to relocate to the Hyde Park area sooner than we wanted to, my husband, kids and I checked in initially to stay a few days. Boy oh boy, we are so grateful for the hospitality of the staff at this hotel. While searching aimlessly to find a place to rent locally and being met with much turmoil, Rachel and her crew of happily employed people made our "very extended stay" the least of our worries. We are a large family so without hesitation she gave us two rooms across from each other. We were able to feast on a great breakfast every morning before heading out. The breakfast attendant made sure everything was well stocked and presentable. Housekeeping did a spectacular job keeping our rooms in order and well stocked. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. My kids loved the pool and my husband enjoyed his workout every morning. The complimentary Wi-Fi was an added bonus, seeing that we were constantly on the Internet. I have never had a more pleasurable and comfortable stay anywhere else. It's convenient to everything! This was definitely worth every penny and I hope to get the chance to stay again. Kudos to you Rachel, for leading a great staff! We are forever indebted to you all! The Nugents.

We stayed at this hotel in July 2014. Me gusta mucho! We loved the service, guestroom and pool. We will return next year while visiting New York. A gem.

We stayed at this hotel in August and loved it. It was not our first choice, but it is now! The staff was helpful and courteous. The breakfast was good too. Great family hotel.

My Friend and I went to this Hotel for a comedy show that was being held there, we did a dinner and show package to get reserved seating, The dinner was $20 each and we got to pick from a menu of what we wanted and there was a "salad" buffet, The restaurant is part of the hotel, This comment is nothing bad about the comedy club, they were wonderful! The Restaurant in this hotel should be shut down, It was soo Horrible, Ive never experienced anything so horrid in my entire life, They gave us a menu after us waiting for 20mins for it, we than decided what we wanted but they didn't come back for another 20mins to take our orders, they gave us water and NEVER asked us if we wanted another beverage. The man took our order who barely spoke and didn't understand English very well, we Ordered chicken parm. We wait over an hour for our food to be brought out. The "buffet" was iceberg lettuce in a bowl, macaroni noodles with mayo, Potato salad, plain. HARD rolls, literally hard! YUCK! Didn't look very healthy to eat. Lets put it that way. We finally get our food and as soon as he put it in front of us, we just looked at one another, this was not something we could possibly eat, as hungry as we were, burnt chicken, melted American cheese and Noodles with velveta cheese that wasn't melted, we couldn't even force ourselves to eat this. We attempted getting the server's attention several times, but we were ignored.

We went for my friend’s birthday party at Mercury Grand Hotel in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 3rd 2010, and we decided to stay at this hotel. After we checked in we found this hotel have big size rooms, which are very clean. The hotel is located on Route 9. We strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

This property is the best value near New York City. Price, location, quality of rooms and free breakfast are quite remarkable. We'll certainly recommend the Mercury Grand Hotel to travelers who want to enjoy the history and food — — the Culinary Institute of America — — in the area. One could stay here comfortably and ride the trains into NYC.

The Hotel is located directly on Route 9, but this is also already. Only moderately friendly staff, in the hallways, it smells musty, the carpet sticks, coffee maker in room broken. But prizes like a new Top Hotel — price performance is right here, absolutely not. Never again.

I had read some bad reviews about this hotel and was nervous about our stay. We stayed on a Saturday night — there were two shows at the comedy club and a loud wedding going on. Bass was thumping loudly in the front of the hotel. I requested a quiet room away from the noise and got a nice, clean, quiet room on the upper level (rm 375). It was a long walk from the car to the room and I didn't see an elevator so this could be an issue for those that have trouble with stairs. The room had a king size bed, couch, desk, desk chair, small TV, two phones, bedside tables, lots of drawers, coffee pot, hairdryer, iron and board, closet, nice bath, and free wireless internet. Everything worked in the room and we slept well. Had to go down a floor to find an ice machine, this floor had smoking rooms and the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The front desk staff was friendly. We didn't partake of the included hot breakfast so I can't comment on that. A great value for $79 from Priceline.
