Very comfortable and reasonably priced, friendly staff, good breakfast.

This place was pretty run down. The outdoor hallways were carpeted and parts were missing sections of carpet or it was rolled up. Someone could trip and get really hurt. There was a very strong pot odor. The room was decent until we checked the bathroom. There was a hole in the wall next to the shower from water damage that management seemed to not care enough to fix. The room wasn't carpeted which isn't a big deal, just different. The signs in our room looked aged and had corners broken off. Next time I'm in town, I'll spend an extra $20 and stay somewhere else that's a little nicer.

This Econo Lodge was clean and pleasant. The king bed was comfortable. The free continental breakfast was good (bagles, cream cheese, cereal, bread, coffee, apple and orange juice). The front lobby where the breakfast was served was pleasant.

Great place for the price. Not sure why they put everyone next to everyone when half the rooms are empty. Would be nice not being next to people who leave the the on all night.

Rooms were great, however, it is allergy season and the carpet all over the entrances of the rooms are attacting everything. My allergies are thru the roof.

A price but a very mediocre breakfast.
Don't expect much.
And the motel is very old.
Some of it is under renovation so sometimes it's cumbersome because of the storage of certain things all over the corridors.

Treated me like trash and if it wasn't for the Days In Hotel right next room I would of really been in trouble. I booked a room this week end online at the Econo Lodge at 1630 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205. I booked it online. I printed out the reservation just in case there was a problem. Well I came in just ahead of the ice storm on 4/14/18 about 4:00pm. When I got to the hotel I informed the clerk that I made a reservation and told him my name. He told me that he did not see my reservation and he would not rent me a room. I showed him the printed out copy of my reservation I got online and he said he did not care he still would not rent me a room. He informed me that I have to call the people I made the reservation with. Well I could not do that because I made the reservation online and I did not have me computer with me. I told him I have the money can I still get a room for two days there was almost no people in the hotel and he still refused to rent me a room. I told him, " I drove all the way from Buffalo and I have no place to stay what should I do"? He told me, " I Sir I really don't care what you do" I asked for his name and he said it was Zean A Middle Eastern person. I was so hurt and angry I just couldn't believe it. He was as rude as he could be and simply refused to rent me a room or honor my reservation even though I had proof that on line my reservation was made online.

Horrible. Disgusting. Terrible management. The Quality Inn is 100 yards next door. Go there instead, trust me its worth the 5 bucks more! The management at Econo Lodge will not only overcharge you, but treat you like dirt when you catch them and ask about it. The place is disgusting, and its just not worth it. Definitely dont bring children there!

It was a really nice stay. Clean and quiet. It snowed and it was quickly cleared. My room did not have a refrigerator or microwave and the front desk said it was because of the low rate. But that was not what was advertised. I would still stay again as long as I had a fridge and a microwave.

Simple motel. Breakfast sucks. Plain bagels and cream cheese. Orange juice and apple. Cheerios and thats about it. It wasn't bad for the money.

Comical is the best word I can use to describe the events that transpired at the econo lodge. My girlfriend and I booked a jacuzzi room for the night and found that the key wouldn’t unlock the door. The manager then recommended that he use the master key to let us in and one of us remain in the room at all times afterward. After refusing that amazing offer we took a quick look at another jacuzzi room (smoking) where we found water damage all over the ceiling and walls and stains all over the comforters and pillows. We immediately got a refund and moved to another hotel (la Quinta).

Damn，some of bead experience happened to me like the former reviews. 1. The heating system took 4 hours to warm the room, its night, very cold. 2. Terrible housekeeping. They came at 9:30 and knocked the door again and again, even didn’t understand what I was saying, I tildes them came afternoon. And they came back at 11:30, still arguing with that (actually I can’t even understand their English) 3. The room seemed longtime no cleaning. I found the hangers were dirty. Cause when I grabbed my right hand got colored dirts. Never take a risk in this hotel! terrible experience ever!

Bit all over my body by Bed Bugs and Fleas The room had it's heater turned off when I checked in — as a result it took almost half a night to get it to warm — then came the real nightmare. I was Bit all over my body by Bed Bugs and Fleas (> 75 bites on the head, arms, under-arms, stomach, legs, feet: EVERYWHERE). There is old furniture downstairs in the stairwell that serves as the perfect hideout for bed bugs and fleas. Staying at this motel was the most terrible experience of my whole life — I notified the manager/owner: he was un-sypathetic and dismissive at best. Please stay at a better place and save your health/well-being.

I can't give a zero. But I would if I could there was a bed bug in my room and this happened on 12-8-17 be aware you have been warned stay here at your own risk.

Rooms were clean. However when we got there our room door was wide open, we had called the front desk for a change of room and she didn’t want to give us a new room. The AC/heat hardly worked. We had house keepers knocking on our door at 930 am. And we requested a 12 o’clock check out. At 1140 house keepers we’re knocking on our door again telling us we had to get out because that was their job. Called to speak to the manager this morning. Very rude and poor customer service. Told us there was nothing he could do about anything. And to write a review if we wanted.

Our stay was pleasant. You get what you pay for… hotel definitely can use some updates and extra cleaning in the bathroom, but wasn't yo bad. Comfy and pleasant for what we needed.

I always stay here when going to Albany they have great rates. Nearby restaurants you could walk to if you wanted and great staff definitely will stay here again.

List of complains 1. The bathroom was dirty 2. The manager has a poor customer service attitude. When we called room service to clean the bathroom. He says "why won't you clean it? " 3. There was a cigarette burn on the bedding cover. This is not a place worth to stay.

A good inexpensive alternative to other area hotels which have scathing reviews. The Wi-Fi did cut out on me as I was streaming a film. Easy and ample parking; I was able to park right in front of my room. The continental breakfast is good for a quick bite but not much else. The room was spacious and clean, and came with a guide to the area. The sink in the bathroom showed obvious signs of wear. Overall it was a good value for the price ($60). I'd recommend splitting with another person if you visit SUNY Albany or need accomodations within easy driving time of the airport.

I really like this place. It is an oasis for me when I need a break from stress. Its quiet, but close to civilization, such as entertainment and shopping. Not fancy, but not bad.

The outside of the hotel made me think that I made a mistake booking a room. Unkempt, falling apart, and old furniture stacked in a pile. Getting into the room, you can tell that it's dated, but at least they tried. The TV was much larger than I expected, the staff was friendly, breakfast was basic, cereal, toast, that sort of thing. If I had to stay again, I would, but if I wanted to go on vacation, I would get a better place. Not good, not horrible, great place to stay if you end up needing a room for the night.

I was there for one night and it was ok. If I needed to stay for more than one night I would have gone to another hotel. The facility needed sprucing up. My bathroom had broken floor tiles and the water pressure in the shower only worked if it was on fully hot or fully cold, it would turn off if you put it somewhere in between. There was furniture that I'm assuming was being put out for trash left in the stairwell. If I hadn't made a reservation and was just driving around looking for a place to stay, I would have passed on it. Staff was nice and the room was clean.

I was a late night arrival. Checkin went fast. Room (a king) was large. Obviously aged, but clean enough. The shower/tub liner could use replacement, as that was really the oldest and grungiest looking thing in the room. I loved the extra plugs and USB plugs on the bedside table… In this day, I'm surprised more Motels haven't put them in! Bed was comfy enough.

The bathtub had black mold in all the joints around it and the bottom of the tub was pretty black as well. Beds were comfortable, good TVs but the air conditioner was super loud. I ended up spending a good 15 fixing the frame so it wasn't vibrating so much or else we wouldn't have been able to sleep. Also housekeeping just barges in without knocking luckily we had the lock on preventing it from opening all the way.

Old smelly rooms. But for one night ok and clean.

My room was a disaster. The toilet was running when I got there and didn't stop all night. The top dresser drawer was missing and broken pieces of wood were laying inside it. The bed, now this is where it gets gross. I immediately noticed several stains on the comforter, in plain site, which leads me to believe they just didn't care to change it. A giant white crusty stain, I hope you know what I'm saying it was without me having to say it. Yeah gross. So I pulled the comforter off and noticed 2 blood stains and what looked like either a coffee or peek stain. I have pics of all this btw, and several long dark hairs. I noticed the front desk but all the had left were smoking rooms, which for me was out of the question. So I peeled all the linens off the bed and slept in my clothes. Next morning I went to the office, showed the manager the pics and told him about the other issues with the room, and they offered nothing for my troubles. No refund, not even a reduced rate. I highly suggest that if you are in the area and need a room, there is a nice Quality Inn right next door. I wouldn't stay here again of it was free!

You get what you pay for. Large rooms but the inside lock was broken. Please do a better job cleaning the room.

We did not need fancy and this place was the lowest price in the area. We were happy with our room. Basic breakfast offered. Room was clean. Older building but updated with paint, etc. Friendly staff.

The room was simple, clean, exactly. What we were expecting. Had a mini-fridge, microwave, and iron with board. Great location, good service. Overall the experience was good.

Staff were very good, rooms are exceptional, clean fresh and big. Will be back.

This place was fine all except for one thing that made it unbearable for me. I came out in the morning and found the place was swarming with bees. Not just a couple, there were several large groups swarming the roof. They stayed away from me. When I brought it someone's attention who works there, they just laughed and kept walking as if everything was fine. F.

The bed was supported by a stack of phone books and the TV picture wasn't great, but the room was very clean and comfortable.

Clean, basic hotel. In a bit of a run down area. The heat barely worked.

Good sized rooms, interesting architecture. On the other hand, having the main stairways on the outside of the building might not be the smartest move in a hotel located in the Northeast; that's something you expect to see in Florida, not New York. There is NO information *anywhere* on how to access the Wi-Fi — the desk staff expects you to just know; and takes a snide, smirking, sneer-down-the-nose condescending attitude if you don't instantly and magically know the hidden secrets. This attitude is completely unacceptable in a so-called 'hospitality' operation. Nice place, RUDE staff. No discount is worth that kind of put-down.

Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, and stag was helpful.

It was a pretty average for a budget hotel. The TV did not receive some channels very well but overall good.

The workers (not the ones at the desk) were very creepy. One worker was just standing there staring at me. When I stared back he still wouldn't turn his head and continued to stare until I left. The other lady and other man were a bit rude and creepy too.

0 regard for do not disturb sign. AC made room smell like mold.

This place is a dump. Me and my crew of guys in two separate rooms experienced bed bugs, we have the photos and the bite marks to prove it. Place needs to be shut down. Do not stay.

Front desk was insanely rude and aggravated the moment he picked up the phone. Have been driving since 9am and expected my pleasant attitude to receive a pleasant response. I was very wrong and am very disappointed with his customer service. On the night of june 22-june 23

We loved it here. Bob at the front desk was very accommodating. I was very happy with the price, and they even gave us a 10% AAAA discount. Everything was clean, bed was comfortable. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in ALB.

Highly recommended! Very friendly staff, I have stayed at this location more than 5 times over the past four years and have not had any issues. Very convenient location!

Dirt mould etc was on fridge door top and door front. Main door did not fit or close properly. Fittings in the shower were disgusting shape. Newly renovated can only apply to the vanity and bathroom sink. The breakfast and the lobby was bearable but could use a cleanup.

It's ok so far. Wifi works fine. Breakfast is good here.

Nothing but good things to say! My brother and I stayed on August 31, 2013 after a trip to Saratoga Race Course. When we arrived that Saturday evening, the room was VERY clean, beds were VERY comfortable, and the A/C was VERY cold. We felt safe and the area was VERY quiet. I really do not understand the negative reviews. Maybe it is from folks that have champagne taste but only want to spend on a beer budget. If you want something fancy with marble bathrooms or room service, go stay somewhere else. I recommend this hotel and also recommend Smokey Bones Bar B Q which is a few blocks down the street. Get the baked wings! During my trip next year from Delaware to Saratoga, we will definitely stay here again. * Saratoga is about 30 miles north of this hotel; a very quick drive.

Heat wave in New York and they rent a room with a broken air conditioner and tell us they are fully booked. That is it, no other rooms, no attempt to help is at all. Here we sit sweating.

You get what u pay for. The rooms and the building were disgusting. The room stunk like it has not been cleaned in years. It was 90 degrees out the day we arrived the room had no air conditioning on. We got a non-smoking room that's smelled of cigarettes, the pillows were as flat as tissue paper the mattresses were one of the most uncomfortable night sleep that I ever had, and the safety latch on the door was broken 4 years because they painted over the broken part.

Price is right. Better than what I paid last night at the motel 6 down the rd. Has new carpet, fridge, microwave, ac works good. Nice and clean. The guy at the counter was nice.
