Clean and comfortable. Great hospitality. May be a small motel but it was a complete pleasure to stay there. Highly recommended.

Got rained out on our bike trip and had to make a stop for the night. This place was recommended by a local. Great friendly staff (Mary) and a modern clean room to sleep.
She gave us rags to clean our bikes and was very accommodating all round.

I so highly recommended this little motel we (7) are on a great bike trip in state number 9 I think. This place is a clean fresh breath of fresh apple pie folks. It VERY nicely remodeled rooms & bathroom very well kept lawn & grounds in general. If you don’t like this place YOU woke up on the wrong side of the bed and would ruin the vibe anyway. Best of luck keep on keeping on!

The staff were friendly and the room was small but cozy with all you need. We will definitely stay here again!

This motel may be small but it is a lot better then most of chain hotels. Nicely updated, friendly owners, very clean! When we go back to the Olean area we will be going back there to stay.

Not only is this motel recently remodeled with decent quality workmanship and materials, but they also maintain the property well. The staff and owner are friendly and easy to chat with. My grandson left a toy in one of our rooms and the owner promptly contacted us and we were able to retrieve it. That's impressive service! Our three-day stay was stress free and enjoyable, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Loved the staff and owner. I accidentally took the key back to California and left my phone charger there I sent the key and they sent the charger. FYI it's great place.

Its a nice property and the room was comparable to most any other chain. The walls are a bit thin, noise-wise. I could hear the cattle arriving in the middle of the night in the next room. Otherwise, I would stay again when in the area without a doubt.

Hello: I was planning a trip to the St. Bonaventure area and booked a room a few days ahead of time. On the way there I stopped by my moms house since it was along the way. She has been very sick and in a ton of pain the last several months. Since I live in DE and she lives in PA I see her as much as I can but not nearly as much as I would like. So Saturday 1/27/18 away we went. We arrived at my moms and at 930 AM. We were able to talk for about 40 minutes, then she began losing breath. We were going to take her to the hospital, but before that happened she left this earth in my arms. Truly this was God's plan all along. What are the odds me and my wife both having off the same weekend. What are the odds the game I was going to see happened to start at 4PM putting me at my moms at 930. What are the odds I was even there at that hour given my work schedule and home location. Clearly this was part of a greater power. A few hours later I called the hotel to notify them of what happened and that I wouldn't be coming. The guy was an unbelievable jerk and said cancellations must happen prior to 24 hours. I was shocked and couldn't imagine a person like that even existed on this earth. I said, do whatever you want, my card will never ever pay you and before I could finish the sentence he hung up on me. This was the worst experience of my life and this was his reaction. I sincerely hope nobody ever EVER stays here and they go out of business.

This place is awesome for the value. It is an old school kind of Motel with each room having a parking spot or two and doors that open right to your car. The rooms were very modern and VERY clean. I would go here over the chain places any day. Good people running the place too.

Very clean nice looking place to stay. For work travel I'd definitely recommend this place but there isn't much to do.

Clean, sharp, and smart. Great location to either go into town or onto interstate. Willing to give you more than you pay for if the opportunity arises. Wi-Fi is about a 7 out of 10 on speed. Cable TV access. Not a penny wasted staying at The New Lantern Motel.

Not bad, freindly service but terribly uncomfortable and noisy bed. Didnt get a lot of sleep due to wildlife in the ceiling cavity.

The rooms are great the staff are kind friendly n go out of there way to help you.

Canceled room just a few hours after I booked and was charged 30%! I could understand if my cancellation fell within 24 hours but it wasn't. It shows a lack of flexibility and in these days of Airbnb, it seems they're going the wrong way.

For the price this a great place to stay. Extremely clean and recently renovated. I just needed a place to crash and I was very happy here.

Very Clean and neat, nice Attractive rooms, Smelled very clean when we walked in and I really liked that, lady that helped us was Very Polite and Friendly.

Its a very cosey clean friendly place to get away. I would bring my girl here. Plan to come back. Of all the places ive seen this is a hidden treaser. On par with holiday inn or the like. I would recomend this over big chain motells. Quiet clean money well spent. I dont please easely. This I give five stars.

This place is fantastic! The room I had was no where near the price you see online. Call them and you'll get a better rate! Mine was around $60. The room was nicely decorated and all brand new. VERY CLEAN! The staff was really friendly.

Second year my family has stayed. We come out to visit relatives for 1week in July. Rooms were remodeled last year before we stayed. And they were upgraded again. This place is in a convenient location, quiet, clean and neat and the staff is terrific. Rooms are large and well maintained. Chairs and benches, and picnic tables out back. Micro and fridge in rooms too. We will be staying again next year.

We decided to try the New Lantern Motel while visiting St. Bonaventure. It was a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable, cozy and nicely furnished. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will continue to book this Motel when visiting the Olean area. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I broke down on the interstate in the dark on 1/29/16. The staff was very courteous and they were on the phone with someone looking for a room. There was only one left and they rented it to me. One of the employees hooked my Jeep up to a battery charger overnight and helped me get my Jeep on back on the road the next morning. Hotel is very nice, everything is brand new and the staff is excellent. Thank you for all of your help and I hope to stay again but under better circumstances. Thank you,

These rooms are Beautiful! Spent the night New years eve and surprisingly the rooms were so modern with the recent remodel. The bed was so comfortable and we slept sound all night. The inn keepers were accommodating and friendly which is always a plus. We will be back in the future. Book this!

Stayed the Saturday night before Easter this year (2015). Felt pretty comfortable being there as a woman alone, though the $75 (cash) price was sure more than I expected. Comforter was worn, sheets clean, TV okay, bathroom clean, towels plentiful, no mold that I could see anywhere, mini-frig loud. Microtel down the road about a mile turned out to be $79&tax, so spent that the next time I went. A week ago I was in town, stopped in to ask if there was any way my current cash could pay for a room — was almost $70 with the tax — — — — — — — I'll pay the extra $15 for a room with bought-this-decade bedding, brightly lit parking and a complimentary breakfast.

As motels go, this place is probably the best you'll find. Staff is friendly, room was meticulously clean, and recently remodel (as of Feb 2015). My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin, but the noise isn't too bad. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great family owned… rooms are clean and comfortable. Better than any chain. Nasty smokers moved in an smoked in their room. The owners gave them the boot and made it right. Rooms are worth twice the price.

The room was very clean and very modern. Its a very small motel with a very personal and friendly atmosphere. The porch had benches and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the country air and comradery with other patrons and the motel manager, who, lives on sight. The manager (Ann with an e Anne! ) was very friendly, would do anything she could to make our stay care free. Even to the point of supplying poop bags for our dog! We were there for my husbands family reunion (Anne also offered to refridgerate a dish I had made for the reunion) and look forward to staying there again when we go back to his hometown.

I had made reservations for this motel a month in advance for 2 weeks. After the 4th nite of stay the told us that they had to cancel our reservation as they sold out all the rooms to contractor. I was here for a funeral and a family member to have open heart surgerey. After going some where else cost another $400.00 in expense. Do not make reservations as they will cancel on you.
