Review of Motel 6-Bernalillo, NM 2*

Over all the room was very clean,, it was very modern and the wood floors gave it a cleaner feel then carpet. The staff was very polite and friendly, up until a misunderstanding where they believed a loud and disruptive argument was coming from our room when it was actually the next room over. The local police were called and treated my Girlfriend like a criminal until they realized they had the wrong room. Even then they never apologized and then told her to watch it or they would be back?! Their actions of course had nothing to do with Motel 6. I do feel it was up to the front Desk staff to investigate and get the right information on whom may be disruptive to the Motel 6 & other Guests before contacting the authorities. Then make sure the correct room number and information are given to so there will be no false accusations against guests who are not the problem. I was out getting food and drink for my girl and I when this all occurred. She even tried to call me when the police entered but was told to put down her phone and basically treated guilty until they realized she was alone in the room after searching it. Then they wanted to search her belongings which she did not consent, acting on her Rights against improper search and seizure tactics used so often. There was no apology afterwards by either the police nor Motel 6 staff. Thus I was pleased to see your email since I was planning on contacting the Corporate Office regarding this event. I would hope that some show of concern, empathy, and apology would be in order along with some type of service credit would be in order Mistakes do happen and I believe proper training on guest communications both when the business is in the right and in the wrong would have gone a long way in making us feel more appreciated and empathetic as a guest and as people who both work in the Hospitality sector. We do a lot of weekend traveling mostly camping in our tent and only will stay in Lodgings as a treat or as our budget allows which I sadly must admit is not as often as we would prefer. So, when something like this happens it truly brings a dark cloud over our whole trip. Yet, we do know that we are all only human and mistakes do happen and it does not matter why the moment it is happening but after time things become more on a human level when we all think about it.
