As soon as we walked in to the hotel we were greeted with smiles and the check in was great with no hassle at all. The room was a double bed room, and was clean with nearly you tucked in sheets. My only complaint about the 3rd floor where my room was located was that the hallway and run did have a musty smell, but it did not so is from enjoying our stay. We are at the Italian restaurant in the hotel which had a great selection of selection of dishes including octopus which was delicious. Perfect end to a long day. The bar service was good too.

Great place to stay in the area with great food in the lobby area. The restaurant is very well known to locals and is often packed. The restuarant is especially known for their bread. Worth a dinner trip alone. I'd recommend there salads and pastas. They also have specials but the menu is good either way. Not BYOB they have a full bar. Also entertainment on Sunday for the kids.

The rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable beds. The bar downstairs was great. We were with a wedding party and we had a great time.

Pleasantly surprised. Restaurant indoors or outdoors. Beautiful gardens outside in the back of restaurant. Service was great.

This was a decent hotel. All the normal amenities plus a bar restaurant inside the lobby. I didn't go into the restaurant. I stayed for a wedding nearby and had a group rate. We used the shuttle to get to the venue. It wasn't the cleanest small bus but it was as comfortable as you'd expect. All in all, it was a good stay.

Stayed in the Honeymoon Suite after our wedding. It was very well cleaned and the chocolate covered strawberries and wine we're a nice welcome touch. We didn't spend much time in the room aside from showering/sleeping, but it was very spacious. A wedding party would have no problem being spread out with 2 TV's, couch, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The complimentary breakfast the following morning is very basic, but I guess what note can you ask for. One issue was that the hotel staff called one of the bridesmaids at 7pm about a credit card authorization, while we were already at the venue and awaiting introduction to the guests. We had dropped off cars the prior evening because they offer shuttle service to the venue we chose. They would not let us check in in advance which would have solved the inconvenience.

Great service, but the food was just "okay". They prices mimicked those of a reasturant with amazing food, only the food was bland. I we spent about $40 per person,. But I've had better food spending $10 per person elsewhere.

Great food. I love stopping there try the bar pie it's the best. I am very picky about pizza only eat it in one place on Aruther Ave, Caffè Amour in Oakland, home or better yet Italy. The staff is always helpful from the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome.

Great place for dinner and drinks! Nice hotel and great food at the Calandras restaurant. Would definitely go back as well as recommend.

Great Hotel, with Excellent Customer Service hotel is Really Clean, One's I laid down on my Bed I felt I was going to Heaven, I wish I had this bed at home. The room is nice and Clean same as for the Restroom and shower. You get Private Safe, Small Fridge, Microwave free Cable, Internet and convenience mini stor. They also have a In Building Pool, Bar, and a Good Restaurant. I really recommend it. The Front Desk Staff are very friendly Love it.

The hampton inn & suites is a pretty hotel. Very clean! The beds are very comfortable! And the breakfast is delicious!

In town helping restore power to homes… Had to sleep in a cot because they gave our rooms away… Had no blanket the last night. Little rest on my little time between working.

We had dinner at Calandra's Mediterranean, it was fantastic! Our family routinely eats in Little Italy, and the quailty was better than any restaurant we have dined at in the city. Tonight's Sea Scallop special was delicious. The scallops were cooked just right at medium. They even accommodated an off menu request! Our server, Mike was aces!

Was here for my cousin's wedding last month, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! The rooms were very comfortable, the bar and continental breakfast were fantastic, and the whole place had a warm feel to it. Could try for a stronger Wi-Fi signal though, getting my PC to respond took some patience. Still, I'd gladly come back here if the time should ever come. Strongly recommend!

Very well run hotel! All the public spaces are very well decorated, comfortable and clean. All the rooms I have stayed in are super clean and comfortable as well. I will always go back here.

Very nice hotel the room and bed were comfortable nice sheets big space for working relaxing having fun and getting together. We enjoyed our stay but it was short so I can't say more the morning breakfast I was wanting something else but overall very good.

We were attending a wake and didn't want to drive over an hour back home then having to drive back the next morning for the funeral so we booked a room. The hotel rooms were clean, the front desk was friendly. Check in and check put was quick. Having a restaurant in premise was a delight. Calandra's was great. The service was quick and the food was delicious. We would definitely be back if we in the area.

I enjoyed the property until I tipped the house keeper. She didn't clean my room at all. I guess I acted inappropriately!

My family and I came here for a gathering for after my grandmother's funeral. I food was excellent. The service was spot on. And according to family members, the rooms are beautiful.

I came here for the 1st time for a business related training. Very fancy and upscale place. When I got here they were having a business dinner on the 1st floor and my training was on the 2nd floor. The only issue I had was that they were playing a piano downstairs and it was too loud. We heard it during our training and it was pretty annoying. Aside from that it was really nice.

Was here for a wedding and was so pleasantly surprised. Everyone was so nice, the rooms were nice, the usual for Hampton, and the bar there was awesome. It was so perfect to come back to the hotel after the wedding and be able to continue to spend time together and have a few more drinks! Loved it.

Beds were too soft for my liking. Otherwise service was great, rooms were clean. Bar and restaurant were great.

Didn't stay there, but visited the lobby after a friends wedding. The lobby is gorgeous. Lots of cozy couches. Awesome bar and service. I really wish we had stayed here. All of our friends said they had a wonderful stay.

I was here to meet another individual, and was impressed by how nice this place is, from the front lobby to the individual rooms. The pool area was quite nice as well, a little small, but not crowded at all. The front desk was very helpful and the hotel was overall very clean and well kept.

This is a nice hotel for the area. The rooms are reasonably sized and well kept. The excercise area looks brand new and all the equipment functions perfectly. The real attraction here though is the Italian restaurant inside. Really great food and nice atmosphere. The food price is on the high end of reasonable for pasta bases dishes, but the quality is exceptional.

Staff is great and in house restaurant is awesome. Free breakfast selection was limited due to large student group and wedding parties at the hotel.

I got married at a venue near the Hampton inn and suites in Fairfield, and around 60 of my guests stayed here. The service was very good, and they did a great job ensuring all of our needs were met.

Hotel was fine, clean. Good gym and pool. Nice lounge area. Need to drive for a bit though to find good dinner options.

Good version for what it is. If you stay at Hampton Inn then you know what to expect. This is that plus nicer environment and some ammenitirs. Food and staff are standard fare and rooms have not been updated to newer loft look but again solid for the Hsmpton flag.

Breakfast was good and nice atmosphere.

Overall this is a great place to stay. We reserved a suite with kitchen and I am amazed by the size. Clean. Nice gym and pool area. The front desk area is busier than I like as it leads to the restaurant. I like it quieter so you can enjoy the coffee, etc.

Enjoyed my stay in Fairfield this past weekend. Stayed in room 103 which was standard, nice and way too far from the pool.

We stayed at the Hampton inn after a wedding. The rooms were clean and the beds for comfortable.

We used this hotel to accommodate our guests for our wedding. We also used Calandra's for our rehearsal dinner. For the rehearsal dinner they closed off about two thirds of the restaurant just for us. Food was delicious, staff was attentive, everything was great. The hotel itself was perfect. I booked the Jacuzzi sweet and loved it. While a little pricey, I think all of the guests enjoyed their stay also. And the hot continental breakfasts are always a plus. But the best part about staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Fairfield was working with Jacki throughout the whole process. Any question I had she was more than willing and happy to answer for me. If you have a wedding in the Cedar Grove area, I highly recommend choosing this hotel!

I booked a room here with a few friends of mine so we could go to a convention together. It was a bit pricey, but I found out that you get a discount for being a AAA member, so that was fortunate. We had a great time there. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was actually pretty good. The thing I remember most though was that one day when we were at the convention I realized that I had lost my wallet. I looked everywhere for it and turned up nothing. When we got back to the hotel that night one of front desk managers called me over and handed me my wallet. It turns out that I had dropped it on my way out that morning and one of the staff had picked it up and handed it into the front desk. I checked and all my cash was still there along with my cards. I was fairly impressed that nothing was taken. So here is a special thank you to the staff at the Hampton Inn.

By far the best Hampton Inns I have ever stayed at. Everyone that works the front desk is extremely polite and helpful with any questions you may have. They have an awesome bar and an incredible Italian restaurant that is to die for! The rooms were very clean with refrigerators and microwaves in them and unlike most hotels, the beds were extremely comfortable. I highly recommend staying here, it won't disappoint.

Poor service. Bad front desk experience. I was given a room next to one of their smoking rooms, even though they were aware of my non smoking preference. Strong smoke drifting around that half of hotel. They switched me to another room that was just as smoky. I wonder if they know what year it is. Don't stay here unless you HAVE to.

We just used the Hampton Inn to reserve a block of rooms for my daughters wedding along with a buffet breakfast in a private meeting room the next morning and also used their complimentary shuttle service to and from our wedding venue at the Brownstone in Paterson. I had the pleasure of working with both Lawanda and Nayisid regarding the block of rooms, shuttles and breakfast. They made sure all my requests were met and everything ran smoothly. They provided plenty of shuttles to accommodate all my guests comfortably and they where there waiting at the exact times requested. Breakfast was delicious and very attractively set out. Everyone single person I dealt with at this hotel was extremely efficient and geniunely nice. The rooms were clean and well appointed. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a well run and stress-free event.

We chose this hotel even though it cost a bit more than other area hotels because I am an HHonors member. My wife and I did not spend much time in the room as we were attending a family function that would run late into the evening, so we were just looking for a clean quiet place to sleep. Clean, yes. Quiet. No way! There were people partying up and down the hallway in the range of 2am-5am. Eventually around 3am, I called down to the front desk who were already aware of the ongoing fiesta and doorslamming. (Apparently my father in law across from us called down three times and was going to take matters into his own hands had his fiancee not stopped him. Ha). Although the noise went away for a few minutes after security left, it was only a short time before the party in the hallway re-started. This continued on and off througout the night and into the early morning hours. I blame hotel night management for not dealing with this in a prompt and effective manner. Hotel security should have been more prompt and obviously did not make it clear that the noise level must be kept at a level to be respectful to other guests staying there. I stayed at this hotel on Saturday July 11th, 2009. I do not plan to return to this hotel for future family engagements unless I speak with the General Manager and can confirm that the night manager will be someone with their act together.
