Beautiful hotel right across the street from the beach. Our room was a good size and very clean. They don't supply shower caps, so if you use one, bring your own. They do have a hair dryer. The pool is very nice, too. We were always able to get a parking spot in the garage. You get beach passes from the front desk, which gives you chairs, an umbrella, and towels. There's no place to sit and have breakfast here, but they did have a grab and go store, which had coffee, tea, bagels, muffins, etc. The room had a kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and dishes. I highly recommend this hotel.

Modern hotel in a Victorian town. Stayed only on night, beautiful room but unfortunately room view was of construction that's on halt for summer. Restaurant under renovation which sucked.

Phenomenal service from the staff. Great accommodations and very clean. The room was spacious and comfortable and had a tremendous view overlooking the ocean. Would definitely want to return.

Booked early in January for escape the cape. Thought I was given the best rate. Then looked at my rate from the previous year and saw this rate was more than doubled. Called to try and renegotiate or change my reservation and was told I would be charged 25% even though it was the next day. So I kept it. At the time of my stay I asked to confirm I was given the best rate as an AAA member and was assured I was. Looked that evening and found the current rate for an upgraded room was less then the rate I paid. Went to the management to ask if they would reconsider my rate since I booked so far in advance and since the hotel was under construction (the restaurant wasn’t open) and it was the beginning of June. I was told sorry we understand if you never come back even though you have come here for three years straight but you booked it at that rate and we are sticking to it. Basically told me we don’t care about you! Will not go back. Not worth the money. It’s a basic hotel nothing special. Go to the Grand where my son stayed for a third of the price and was offered more amentities. Rooms are quieter as well. You won’t hear your neighbors.

Clean, quiet, rather basic hotel located across the street from the beach. Good sized king bed room, kitchenette, ocean view deck. No on site restaurant, very small breakfast cafe with limited options. Good parking available. Close to town, about a mile from everything.

Clean friend service. Came with the family and very kid friendly. Pool was nice, right across from the beach which is very convenient. They give you beach tags which provided access and chairs and umbreall very nice. Overall great stay.

Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and we could enjoy the smell of the salty air from the balcony. I may be mistakened but I believe every room comes equipped with one. It also had a small kitchenette which included a 5ft fridge, a microwave, a small kitchen sink, and a set of 4 dish set. Very spacious and clean, this is wonderful inn located directly on the beach.

We’d give it a big fat 0 if we could. Horribly noisy night. Called front desk twice to complain about the noise. Was told they had received other similar complaints, and that they had already called the police. The police never came. We learned the next morning that the front desk had lied about calling the police because their out going phones were not working. I guess no one had a cell phone. There must have been at least 15-20 people partying in that room from 11pm until 4:30am. Some of the people partying jumped from their rooms balcony to our room balcony. Management did nothing to curtail the noise. We will never go back to this hotel, ever. You can keep your $50 Lemar gift card.

Room was good… some of the guests on our floor we're extremely inconsiderate about the noise level after 11pm. Was woken up after 4am by the constant opening and closing of their door. And by their talking in the hallway. You'd think that having the office call you and tell you to be quiet would register but I guess not. It would have been nice to have an on-site restaurant but it was being built so maybe next time!

We spent the night a few weeks ago to celebrate a wedding anniversary. I found after arriving that it's not the most conveniently located to the historic section of town, but it us oceanfront which was important to me. I also have to thank the desk clerk who upgraded us when I complained about the obstructed ocean view.

Stayed here for many years and loved it until the claws came out. We had guests over and they were sitting on our balcony and one of them was smoking a cigarette. A woman about three or four rooms down flipped out on us, saying that the smoke was choking her (she was upwind of us by the way) our guest immediately put the cigarette out and apologized — problem solved? No. She went down to the front desk and God only knows what she told them, but we were read the riot act, threatened to be evicted, it was totally one sided. Management showed up with claws out, accusations flew and threats were issued without asking us our side of the story or for that matter, even giving us an opportunity to say one word. We were completely blindsided by a show of absolute rage to a simple issue that we thought was a non-event. We don't smoke and it never occurred to me that smoking wasn't permitted on the balcony or I would have told my guest not to. Regardless, a simple "oh, by the way, did you know smoking wasn't permitted on the balcony" would have sufficed. My guest immediately put it out anyway. It was a non event to us until the hotel representative showed up breathing fire at us. We continue to vacation in Cape May, but never again at La Mer.

Stayed there in September of 2017… going back this year… love staying there and so does my family.

The rooms are well kept and the staff are friendly. Our stay was very enjoyable and we would definitely stay again.

Went during the off off season, so it was less expensive and less crowded. Very nice room, well kept up. Good housekeeping while we were there. Nice balcony view of the ocean. Great amenities. Biggest downside was that the restaurant was closed for a major renovation (out to the studs), so we had to leave the hotel for food. There is a nice kitchenette, but we weren't going to be there long enough to put it to good use. We would stay again.

This resort is amazing. It was Very clean with a beautiful ocean view from the balcony and cozy. We'll definitely be visiting again in the future!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we'll lit. We had a refrigerator and microwave, silverware and tableware. The view of the beach was spectacular. Can't say enough good things. We already booked next year's vacation there.

The girl who checked us in was very confused; told us a credit card was declined and then said oops no it was a typo on my part and then she ended up charging the balance of the room to the wrong card. Great place to stay in Cape May, clean new rooms, this place has everything, outside shower, great pool, beach chairs and umbrellas supplied, opening new wine, breakfast place soon on premises! Great for families.

Terrible service! I made reservations. I called to check the cancellation policy. When we arrived the night of our stay, we were told our reservation was canceled. It was firefighters weekend, so it was impossible to find a room. When I communicated with management, I was told they would make amends. I never received any additional emails. Montreal Inn and Camelot have great service. Our family has continued to enjoy Cape May. We will not subject ourselves to the "service" offered at La Mer.

Was in new jersey for a wedding. The bride and groom got rooms here and it looked incredible. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have a great place to stay right on the beach.

Short visit for a Labor Day Weekend, usually stay in an Air Bnb, limited vacation funds so we booked the no view room, when my children and I checked in we were pleasantly surprised to hear that they had upgraded our room to a limited view! We were so happy to be able to see the beach, after expecting to see a brick wall! The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful! Our room was fabulous, very clean with a nice kitchen area. The beach and pool amenities made the price I paid worth every penny. The breakfast was sufficient but could have included some juice, or oatmeal. Overall, my kids really enjoyed their first trip to Cape May mostly because of this beautiful hotel. We will return, for sure. Thank you for our upgraded room! My single income would not have allowed us to stay in the room you gave us! Thank you so much!

Clean. Friendly and Effective staff. Great views. Breakfast is limited due to restaurant being reconstructed. Easy access to the good beach with umbrella, towel and seating service. Not a walking distance from good places to eat. Must use your car or trolley.

Nice friendly helpful staff and nice very clean and comfortable rooms with great attention to detail, my wife and I loved the few days we stayed there while in Cape May. Would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Rooms are clean, kitchenette, fridge, microwave provide for good quick meal prep (no stove top). The fridge can get noisy and the door bottom has too large a gap that light from the hall swaps through and brighten up the room at night. Throw a towel over it will help but perhaps fix it systematically. Having a heated pool and restaurant on premise is a great addition. Wi-Fi works, but not highly responsive. The workout room is reasonable with a few machines, a. C omboi cable system, pull up bars, but has no weights. It has filtered we water, which is nice. Overall, the convenience and accessibility and location is a plus for this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, too. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were informative, room was ok, but the noise travels everywhere. We were there off season, but we heard people one floor up on the porch talking as if they were on our porch. We were awakened every morning at 5 am by the person one floor up flushing the toilet. We heard the cackle of ladies poolside from 5pm until dusk. Our room faced the ocean, but it was unpleasant to sit and hear the noise, when a quiet evening was expected. We were off season, can't imagine the noise during the summer. At 6:45 am awakened each day by the porch sitters talking loudly as if they were the only ones in the place. My husband and I will not be returning because of the noise, and the very thin walls. We could heard everything in the hall, next door, above, and outside. Nice grounds, easy parking, but we came home to get sleep. It was supposed to be a relaxing time, only on the beach did we get peace and quiet. Too bad the place had little insulation between rooms and floors. Noise carries in this facility inside and out.

From the time we arrived at the Lamer to the time we checked out our experience was totally enjoyable the Guest services were professionally friendly and extremely helpful. Housekeeping could not have been more accommodating and sweet. AnnMarie made sure our stay was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The pier house was a 5 star from the Hostess to ourWaitress/waiters and the food was outstanding. And we enjoyed the convience of poolside drinks and foo service. Our vacation was a supernova … Thank you Again to Ann Marie and Staff.

The service at the front desk is horrible. I have two trips booked with them one this weekend and one next weekend and I am a loyal customer who has been staying here for years. I need to change a day and they will not help me. They now want to charge me for the one day I missed and take my deposit. Horrible! I will never stay here again! They make it impossible to get a manager. You need to write a letter and send it to a PO box. So they will loose a customer who by they way has spent $2300 with them these year and would have had every intent to do the same next year.

Lovely hotel! Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly at the front desk. Our view of the ocean from the balcony was amazing. Will definitely come back again! Definitely enjoyed my stay there.

Location was alright but it was loud late at night. You could hear every little sound outside and from the other guests in the hallway. Room was spacious, but bathroom didn't look very clean. Service was horrible. They didn't provide enough blankets and had no flexibility with parking, checkout, or the beach tags, even though it was obvious the hotel wasn't full. Will never stay here again. Definitely not worth the price of $500/night. It's not even worth $200 a night for the accommodations and service!

The hotel was well maintained, well furnished and the service was more than adequate. While the location was a bit far from the main town, over all it was perfect for a family vacation.

Good room and beautiful views from direct premium view room. During the weekdays no restaurant. But there are enough places few miles up beach Ave. Over all satisfied.

Nice room. Great view. I'm very disappointed that they could not provide liquid cream for coffee. No outlets near the bed. They take advantage of that they're the only place open in the fall to jack up their rates and offer poor service.

Fix and or repair the non functioning treadmills and ellipticals in the cardio room. I am a repeat customer who quite frankly am tired of paying top dollar for this rundown equipment. Last year, I filled out a compliant about the same issue and same equipment, no response from management and found exact same issues this summer. Respect your loyal customers and keep up with the amenities!

We have stayed at LaMer quite a few times and have never been disappointed. The rooms have a great view of the ocean, they are spotless and beautiful and the staff couldn't be nicer. The parking underneath makes getting on the elevator and to and from rooms with luggage very easy. In the prime season there is also a trolley that takes you throughout Cape May so you don't have to worry about driving and parking. We just love it!

The suites are huge. The view of the ocean from our balcony is very nice. The staff gave good local restaurant recommendations. The only real downside is the price. My wife and I would love if this place was cheaper.

There's nothing wrong with La Mer, but there doesn't seem to be anything great about it either. It's not quite beachfront. (The public beach is across the street behind a wall. Not your typical walk out of the hotel right onto a private beach). The rooms are nice enough, but not very upscale or new. It's Comfort Inn quality at three times the price.

Super large rooms, ocean views, and pool at the ready. Clean and comfortable. Really no issues. Safes in rooms calm the nerves of any neurotic like myself who notice that you could walk room to room via the balconies who share side railings and enter in any non-locked sliding glass door.

One of the best places I have stayed. Granite kitchenette, best Wi-Fi connection I ever had in a hotel. Very clean and up to date.

I've been going to the Jersey Shore for years — — yes, before those crazy kids on the MTV show made it de rigueur. With that said, Cape May is the best seaside vacation town in Jersey thanks to it's Victorian influence and culinary gems. My choice when visiting the Cape summer after summer? La Mer Beachfront Inn all the way. Why? It's the most contemporary hotel (most hotels are stuck in a '70s time warp! ) on the island and the location is on the quieter side of town. I have two kids under the age of 2 and the kitchenettes (with granite tops! ) are key for warming up bottles and snack time. I also love that's there a gym and a business center with internet. The balconies are also a major draw here. They're private and ours was directly across from the ocean. The rooms are really big and spic-and-span clean. No musty room scents here! Phew. Some other must-sees in Cape May are 410 Bank Street (for their daily fish specials), The Lobster House (for their clam chowder) and The Depot (for a casual, local fave lunch spot).

Neat, clean, oversized rooms with terraces and great beach views. We coiuld see dolphins in the distance! Quiet location (hard to find in season. ) Good service, friendly staff. Attached restaurant/bar quite good if you don't want to travel 10 blocks late night to the mall.

Ten of us just spent a night there on a 4-night bicycling trip. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Since it was the Monday before Memorial Day, they had the space available to lock up our pricey bicycles inside a conference room. If you are planning to bring a bicycle and it's prime season, you probably won't be able to swing this kind of treatment — — in which case, be advised that the hotel doesn't allow bicycles in hotel rooms, and most of the bike racks are in the garage, which receives a full breeze (and accompanying salt spray) from the beach. There are a few rooms that have a "balcony" that is against a building wall, and the balcony in this instance is a kind of cave. It's probably all right for getting a breeze, but I would have been pretty upset if I had gotten one of these rooms. It's a bit of a hike to the downtown area — — about a mile — — and the day we were there, we didn't see anywhere to eat that was open nearby. I would definitely stay there again, assuming I could protect my bicycle from the elements.
