Wonderful bed and breakfast in a Bavarian Style with eclectic style inside. First of all you are greeted by the wonderful inn-keeper dogs, they have two but Neko, (their gorgeous malamute) is the Mascot :D Which is always one of the best greetings especially if you are a dog owner and your own couldn't come. Then the eclectic style inside has everything from Old Americana, Old Stowe, Rock Music styling and more! Truly something for everyone! Duane and Leah are super-friendly and hardworking to make sure their guests have a wonderful and memorable stay! You can tell why their guests want to come back and do, and why some make it a regular retreat! The rooms were super cozy, comfortable, and warm! They have a projector in the common room, a pool table, records and record players (most rooms have the players as well), and more. Then in the mornings you have an amazing breakfast which ours had fruit juices and coffee, smoothies, and breakfast sandwiches with breakfast potatoes, which all were super delicious! Wish we could have stayed longer, will definitely stay again if we have the opportunity. Highly recommend to anyone!

Serene settings, amazing decor, Leah and Duane go out of their way to make your stay a special, unique, New England style experience. Rustic Vintage, museumesque decor, high quality baked goods, great music, comfortable rooms. The most unique place I’ve ever stayed. Met amazing people from all over the world there. Duane and Leah are amazing people, artists. So much fun, scenery, and amazing, iconic landscapes in that region.

Such a wonderful place. The owners are totally committed to making sure their guests are comfortable and happy. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay up there. The bed was soft, the food was great, and scenery was gorgeous.

This is by far the best place my now husband and I have ever stayed. The owners are so kind and generous and friendly. The grounds are great for dogs (we brought two) with an easy small walk around the grounds for potty breaks. Such a warm and welcome atmosphere for people and dogs alike. You will want to leave with some T-shirt’s from the shop upstairs! Oh and did I mention the breakfast is incredible. You will wanna make sure you were there at 9 AM to enjoy the amazing cuisine. There’s always a record playing, there’s always a fire going, it’s such a warm and cozy atmosphere with good conversations to be had. And not to mention it’s just 3 to 5 minutes away from Waterbury right smack dab in the center with lots of food to eat and drinks to be had. We cannot wait to come back. By the way this was our honeymoon, and it was the best honeymoon I could’ve ever asked for.

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Literally. As you pull up to the front of the inn, you instantly feel worlds away from the chaos of the real world. My 13 year old son took one look at the place and said, "When I was little, this is what I imagined Santa's house to look like! I can't believe this place is real! "
When you walk through the front door, you start to realized just how amazing this cozy inn truly is. The smell of maple instantly welcomes you into the inn, and we were greeted immediately by Neko, the sweetest inn dog you will ever meet. Neko "showed us" to our suite and hung out with us for a bit as we got settled. As dog lovers, she was a very welcome addition to our awesome stay. The inn is everything you want it to be. It is a perfect mix of all of the best stuff — warm & cozy, rustic & vintage, cool & funky, and a little bit of punk rock and rock & roll. We loved the record player in our room and had a great time listening to the mix of albums that were there. The bed — it was so soft and comfy. I had 2 of the best nights of sleep ever!
The innkeepers, Duane & Leah, are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet. Leah will spoil you with her amazing breakfasts and Duane is super helpful with advice on all the cool local things to do. From waterfalls & swimming holes, to restaurants in town in Waterbury — he helped us immensely. He really loves helping you get the most out of your time in the area.

The Grunberg Haus was an absolute delight. The rooms were large and comfortable with a newly remodeled bathroom. What makes it special and most remarkable are the owners and hosts, Leah and Duane. There was a bonfire each night (we were there over a weekend) and even live music on Saturday. The breakfast is delicious and fills you up for whatever you have planned for the day in beautiful Vermont. Also, very close to excellent restaurants, Stowe ski resort, Ben and Jerry's factory, and much more. Highly recommend! Will be back for sure.

A delightful experience, the bed is comfortable, the room cozy and well decorated. The host couple cook a great breakfast, and are available to attend to your every need.

Also breakfast is amazing. Billiard table is on point. Hammocks. Just an amazing place. Duane and Leah are awesome. Love coming here.

I happened upon The Grunburg Haus while looking for a place to stay during our honeymoon journey through Vermont. Based on the description online, I already thought it was pretty amazing. When we actually got there, I was blown away with how awesome it was! Leah and Duane were the nicest most gracious hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The room and house were comfortable (and awesomely decorated! ) and the breakfast was amazing every day. Everything about this place fit perfectly into the criteria I wanted for my husband and I on our special trip. I can't wait to go back.

The Quiet Cabins on the hill side. 100% peaceful and quite.

We made a weird, out of the way trek to Vermont because it was about the only eastern state we’d never been to. Chose Waterbury because of Ben and Jerry’s, and happened upon Grünberg Haus. Out of Chicago, Toronto, Niagara, NYC, and many more places on our road trip, this was hands down my family’s most memorable stop. Hosts were amazing, decor was perfect, multiple instruments hanging on the wall that you can just grab and play. Pool, amazing breakfast, nearby hiking trails, and a cool-ass dog that will sleep right outside your door if you give her enough attention. My whole family was pissed that we couldn’t stay longer. Waterbury is an amazing destination and this place in and of itself would be worth the trip. I may even have to come out of skiiig retirement so I can check it out in the winter!

Really lovely place to stay! An Alps-style chalet in the heart of Vermont… what's not to love? Also the property dog was so friendly and lovely!

This was by far the best place I have ever stayed. The attention to detail was impecable. Anything you could ever want they had! It was cute, cosy, quirky and comfortable. A place to truly get away from it all. Pure magic. We could have been happy hanging out at the cabin all weekend but we did choose to venture out, it is close to Stowe, a bunch of state parks and other awesome towns! Not to mention we were able to bring our dog on her first vacation here! I would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back!

If I could give more than 5/5 I would definitely do that! Honestly this is one of the most incredible place I've ever seen. Not only because of the warm atmosphere and the location in Vermont but also for the feeling I had in there. I felt like I was at home. Duane, Leah (and the puppy Nika) are amazing hosts. Go and see by yourself ;)

This place is amazing! Owners are so accommodating. Food is delicious. Ombionce is incredible! We will absolutely be returning time and time again!

I'm very lucky to have found this gem. Planned a last minute resort trip following a big snowstorm and found this B&B. Looked cool online and it sure was when I got there. I was greeted by the cutest puppy I've ever seen and really friendly management. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home. The inn is very clean and comfortable. This stay is forever in my memory bank as one of the best snowboard trips I've had thanks to the awesome people and hospitality of the grunberg haus. Can't wait to visit again.

Best spot in Waterbury area. Great decor, great building, great owners. Will only stay here when visiting Vermont.

Such an incredible stay! This gorgeous, adorable Inn tucked away in the woods was absolutely perfect, and so were the owners! It's situated between Sugarbush and Stowe, very easy drive to either resort. At the Inn, they have all the technology and entertainment you could imagine, including multiple guitars, sonos, another sound system great for live music, a projector where you can watch anything on Apple TV, pool table, BYOB bar area, and an amazing included breakfast. Couldn't recommend more!

We stayed at Grunberg Haus for a week in October for my sister's wedding. Duane and Leah (the owners) were very welcoming and we felt like we were family the minute we walked through the door! They went above and beyond in preparation for the wedding which definitely took a load of stress off. We stayed in one of the cabins on the hill and it was the perfect little cozy cabin for my boyfriend and our 2 dogs to stay in. To get to the cabin, you had a short walk up the hill with lights along the way for when it's dark out. We drove our Subaru up there the first and last night to unload/load our belongings, but the drive is a little rocky and bumpy so I wouldn't suggest driving a car with low ground clearance up there. The cabin had a full bathroom, microwave, fireplace with cut wood, and a small fridge for us to keep all of our delicious craft Vermont beers in :) Leah made a delicious breakfast everyday, from pancakes with fresh maple syrup, to some AWESOME breakfast sandwiches! She also had some yummy parfaits and a variety of other options continental-style. The Inn itself has a multitude of different style rooms, all named after local area resorts like Sugarbush/Killington, etc. The main common area has a nice pool table, large comfy couch in front of a fireplace, long beautiful wood tables for breakfast/socializing, and a TV room. There is also a small bar area with tables and a common fridge in the next room over.

This place was absolutely amazing! From the unique decor to the wonderful hosts. They made the 2 days we were here better then we could have asked for by upgrading our room and helping with a little surprise I had planned. I felt right at home here and will 100% return and highly recommend you come stay here too. If you like great pancakes and just a feel good atmosphere its the place for you and your dog! Lol yes dog friendly and so are the people.

Maybe the best kept secret in Vermont? What a perfect place for our family (and dog! ) to relax, chill, and just take a deep breath. Playing cards by the fire, a few games of pool, an incredible home-cooked breakfast… all in the company of a bunch of strangers who felt like family by the time we left. The new owners have worked hard to create an atmosphere that makes this a destination in and of itself, not just a place to sleep. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary with plenty of heart don't even hesitate. Book a stay. We'll be back!

We had such a great experience at Grunberg! The owners were wonderful and it was a surprise to be able to get discount tickets to Stowe! Love the common areas with pool table room, cozy living room with fireplace and game room. It was cool to mingle with other families after a great day skiing. We hit mad river one day and Stowe the next. This place is right between both on rt100.
