We had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door. Greeted by Bobby upon arrival, he was energetic, welcoming and more than helpful. He directed us to downtown Portsmouth for a fantastic meal, and beautiful walk through the historic center. Our room was clean, and the beds were soooo comfortable. The complementary breakfast was beyond generous, and beautifully presented. Each employee we encountered from the front desk (Bobby & Cashandra), housekeeping, the super sweet & friendly breakfast attendant, and Kevin making sure everything was clean and organized added to our experience, making it a special one… memorable or sure. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Too pricey for outdated hotel. Better off at the Motel 6 500ft. Away. Old looking furniture and drapes. Hair in bathtub as it wasn't clean fully. Room not as advertised but only stayed a night so no need to swap. Breakfast was unappealing. Watery eggs or maybe thays grease they are sitting in. Unsanitary conditions (caused by the clientele from what I see). They do allow pets for $50 but motel 6 alloes pets for free.

Stayed for a 3 day weekend getaway. Room was great, breakfast was plentiful, pool and hot tub were nice. Hotel has shuttle service to downtown Portsmouth which was nice.

Marriott price for Hotel 6 quality. We were stuck for choices because last minute trip. Low ceilings throughout entire hotel makes it claustrophobic. Pool is not heated and not well maintained. Rooms okay but everything feels kinda stale. Weird smell. We requested pack-n-play for baby. It came stained and gross. Overall avoid if possible.

All in all a nice Hampton Inn. Beds are very comfortable, pillows good, very good night sleep and NO NECK PAIN! YAY! Quiet, clean room. Nothing broken. Breakfast very good. A place to comfortably take ones wife. A solid, dependapble hotel for once! Gets an A from me, so few do. Only tiny complaint is that TV changes channels slowly — probably satellite.

So first of all the lady behind the counter Victoria was an absolute peach she was kind and attentive while my fiance and I were checking in and making sure to ask " do you have any questions" or "would you like a complimentary bottle of water to take up to your room" so for the service and the price we got an amazing deal thank you again and I hope you all get to have the experience I did.

It's kinda hard to find depending on what direction you come from. That said it's less than 2 miles to downtown, and once you get here the service is fantastic. They have a greeting in the early evening which includes a snack and complimentary beer/wine. The room is showing a little wear but is still very comfortable.

Good, clean. Not very modern but homey. There is free parking! Friendly staff.

Very clean. Nice sized rooms. Free shuttle to and from downtown. Excellent choice without having to spend top dollar to stay in a downtown hotel. I highly recommend staying here.

Unbelievable hotel. Warm friendly staff. Cleanest rooms I’ve ever seen. Complimentary happy hour M-F. Complimentary breakfast. Close to stores. Easy to get to and from. Will definitely stay here again. High recommend.

Met up with family and got 2 connecting rooms to celebrate my daughter’s 5th birthday. Free warm chocolate chip cookies at check in. Free wine and beer (up to 3 free drinks per adult) Monday — Friday. Free breakfast next morning included scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, sausage gravy and biscuits, make your own waffles, oatmeal, muffins, toast, bagels, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. Beautiful pool was so fun for the kids. I was so incredibly impressed and I will definitely be coming back.

Excellent breakfasts, very attentive, good rooms. Ckimatzada pool, gym. Something complicated the access although the location is very good. Good snow removal from the parking and driveways. But they were 48 hours without hot water in the middle of winter.

Nice place. The last time I was there they had an issue with the hot water on my last night, which was inconvenient as well as annoying, but I have been there enough times to know this is uncommon. They have breakfast. It is my preferred hotel each time I am in Portsmouth.

When we arrived two hours after check-in, it was disappointing that our room wasn't ready. We had to wait another 20 mins for them to finish our room and inspect it, but the staff more than made up for it by comping our room. Excellent clean facility with amazing customer service! We will absolutely be staying here again!

Checked in early in emergency situation. Was very appreciative of that consideration. Room was clean, spacious and all staff encountered was professional and courteous.

Easy location to get to. Clean rooms, free breakfast, and indoor pool. More than sufficient for family with young kids.

Love staying here! My past stay was excellent. Big kudos to the kitchen staff, especially Shiloh who went out of her way to accommodate me when I missed egg roll night. She made some especially for me knowing how much I loved them. Definitely above and beyond! Thank you Shiloh!

Nice rooms. Clean. Towels nice and soft. Standard Hampton in items. Cookies in the lobby were nice. Coffee was fresh at 4pm which means they maintain it well. All pillows at Hilton hotels are terrible, and these are the same. Nothing they can do about it except from a corporate level. Parking was easy. Kind of hard to find the place since you need to go through a parking lot for a Christmas Tree store to get there. GPS saved me on this one.

Went over for first night Portsmouth. Booked early and got a great rate. Nice lady checked us in… 2 bottles of water and told us basics. Nice, clean room, king size bed with jacuzzi tub in bathroom. Neutrogena soaps are a plus to the usual cheap stuff. Regular basics in room. Would stay again.

Very clean place. House keeper is on point with everything in ur room n very friendly. Jamie is awesome friendly n very helpful. It wasn't easy at the beginning but everything got on track. Will recommend others.

Turned on jacuzzi tub for fist time in months had bugs and hair come out of it, tub had mildew around nozzles that turned washrag​ black. Told front desk, situation wasn't passed on to morning staff. First and last time I'll be staying​ here.

My husband and I spent the weekend visiting the Portsmouth area for our 25th Wedding anniversary. The hotel is just perfect being ten minutes away from downtown, if that. The hotel provides transportation and picks you up when your ready. Very cozy lobby, clean/comfortable rooms and fantastic staff, especially Shiloh and Eric. Above and beyond customer service. Thank you for making our special weekend that much more enjoyable. :)

Not a bad hotel. Very spacious rooms. Free Continental breakfast. Limited but good options. Location is a bit tricky. But everything else is great.

Excellent stay, perfect room. Easy access. They have a free back & forth shuttle that goes to the downtown area. Smiling and helpful staff. Included breakfast is OK, do not expect fine gastronomy though.

Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast had good variety. Staff was very friendly. Location seem quite out of the way, and had trouble finding the hotel at night.

I liked the nautical feel. There was a nice, cozy fireplace area in lobby. They offered free beer and wine during a certain time period. The rooms were average to above average, no complaints. The indoor pool and hot tub were ok. I would go back.

I've stayed a few places in Portsmouth and this is my new favorite. It's conveniently located to the highway and has a free shuttle to the downtown area. You can't beat the price. Very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful!

Great hotel, Great staff. A group of us have been going there every February for many year. Always have a goodtime. Staff is friendly and honest. This year I actually lost my wallet, wasn't sure where, But they found it and returned it. Very thankful for the honest house keeping and management. Looking forward to going back next year so I can thank them in person.

Convenient, clean, good amenities but breakfast is short changed — line for waffle maker too long. They need to add one or two more. Look to one of the other Hampton Inns if traveling with kids who want the waffles.

Location is nothing spectacular but they provide a free shuttle to downtown for shopping and dining at different eclectic places, and the service is amazing. They even have rooms with hot tubs for a nice relaxing evening! Overall it was great!

We requested adjoining rooms, they said no problem, except when we got to our rooms. They conveniently denied our request saying that they don't guarantee it, although it was specifically allowed and "no problem" when we made the reservation. We cancelled other reservations to stay here. Mistaken choice. Not very accommodating. And, understaffed for a busy Saturday night…

It was a really great place to stay. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfy. Also the amenities were awesome. The continental breakfast was 5 star!

You will feel like home. Nice room, poor gym but the pool is excellent, the atmosphere will get you comfortable with a very friendly staff. You will appreciate the free shuttle service too!

The staff was great management was great as well and also came to my store opening at H&M and gave the store a bouquet of flowers of congratulations for our opening. Housekeeping West amazing front desk was superb and and the shuttle drivers had us laughing and smiling every trip back and forth to the store in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Portsmouth.

Horrible hotel not friendly the things that go on behind the seen are bull crap had a friend stay this past spring because I had recommended it to him long time ago and h was far from pleased with the stay so that's why I'm making my voice heard. Was better when Vic ran the hotel back when. I have recently stayed with downtown Hampton inn which by far passes this hotel in every standard there is in the business.

Stayed here for 10 day during Spring of 2015. It was not a good experience — — leaky roofs, smelly hallways, inconsistent room service.

This hotel allows pets. So expected to see big dogs around in the hotel. Kind of scary. Also dogs barking day and night, hard to sleep. Do not know how great of a job for cleaning up after those pets in the rooms.

Stayed at this Hampton Inn over the Feb 20th weekend. The rooms have the typical furnishings and are very clean, however the hotel is a little dated. Parking is free but insufficient spaces when the hotel is full, thus you will be parking in the nearby shopping center and walking back. Staff is OK but not overly friendly, nor are they unfriendly, just OK. I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns all across the country and my score for this site is in the middle compared to the others that I rate highly. This site is a little lower priced then the other nearby sister hotels which I have stayed at, and next visit to this area, I’ll be staying somewhere else but paying a little more for the better score. My husband and I have traveled up and down the east coast and rarely have I liked a place enough to save the information so I can come back. Although well hidden, the cleanliness and hospitality were outstanding. Great breakfast and a comfortable bed what more does a traveler need. We will definitely be back.

I stay at this Hampton almost once a month instead of the horrible hotel that my guard unit puts us in. Price is reasonable, amenties abound. Free breakfast is good, typical hotel breakfast but the dining area is spacious. Free managers reception in the evenings is an awesome treat. Helps save a little money of dinner costs which are high in this area. The hotel is extremely clean, excellent, professional, and polite staff. Very helpful with anything that you need. My wife loves the shuttle to the mall. Another huge plus! I've stayed in many hotel over my 20+ years in the military and this one is by far one of the best.

My wife and I had the occasion to stay at the Hampton Inn (Portsmouth, NH) last week. We were happy with the entire portion of our stay, which was two nights. The hotel is clean, the front desk people were friendly and helpful. We really liked the room, which looked very modern. Very clean and super cozy. We'll definitely be staying here again on our subsequent return trips to Portsmouth. It's reasonably priced and is just a couple of minutes from the downtown district.

Thin walls but free draft beer: Spacious rooms but with very thin walls. If someone in one of neighboring room has a phone conversation you can almost hear all conversation details. Service was OK. They could not find my reservation for a long time. Breakfast is typical Hampton Inn powder eggs and few other things. Their service score was boosted by complementary high quality draft beer service for all guests. You are within walking distance of several restaurants but still far away from downtown Portsmouth.
