Vida Boutique Inn Boutique

I accidentally booked the wrong night (Mon rather than Sun) and the host graciously accommodated us.
The room was spacious (3rd floor, 2 beds) and newly renovated. Dining rooms were very pretty and well appointed.
The location is great for parents attending events at Worcester Academy or Saint Paul. You can walk to either.
We enjoyed making a new friend too (he wasn’t in our room).

We have stayed here the past two weeks back to back for work trips, and the Inn did not disappoint! Gus is an amazing host, explaining the check in process very well and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms are so well decorated with just the right mix of old and new. Looking forward to returning in a few weeks with another colleague to introduce to this great property.

On our way to Amherst we decided to stay one day in Worcester. As a last minute plan we were fortunate to be able to book a room at the Vida Boutique Inn. What a pleasant surprise! Gus greeted us when we arrived and provided a brief yet thorough orientation. Throughout the stay he was readily available and attentive.
The Inn has been nicely decorated with many thoughtful touches. Our room had two queen beds with lots of fluffy pillows and comfortable bed and linens. Although the room lacked some things one might expect in a hotel, like hand cream and a tv, we weren’t in the room long enough to mind (besides our iPads are sufficient.
Best of all was the breakfast. We sat comfortably on the veranda and had a wonderful quiche and zucchini bread with bits of walnut and prune. That, plus freshly brewed coffee made for a divine start to our day.
Despite minor limitations, like a somewhat noisy window air conditioner, our party of three were glad we went with Vida instead of the same-ole-same-ole run of the mill hotels in town.

We chose this B&B because we love that experience wherever we go. This is basically a refurbished typical Victorian home that is more of an “inn” without the real “breakfast. ” Breakfast consists of store-bought pastries and if you want, the manager will make eggs for you. I don’t think they live there. They are very nice and very well meaning people so I don’t want this to be pejorative, but for the price we paid (about $1, 000 for 2 rooms for 2 nights), we expected a more significant experience. Nothing is in walking distance (and I’m not even sure you would want to walk around the neighborhood) though we did find great local restaurants on TripAdvisor. For the entirety of Worcester, we felt like we were in the sketchy part of town. They also allow dogs which we didn’t know. My wife has allergies and a guest’s dog was allowed to roam the house freely. Another guest decided to invite their local family over for the “free“ breakfast, which took up all the dining area space for us. No apologies offered by the on-site manager as I’m not sure he knew how to handle the situation either. He’s the nephew of the owners, and just moved to the area himself. Too many other local/regional options to place this towards the top of the list. But otherwise very nice and accommodating owners. Just not true B&Bers, yet.
