We absolutely loved The Francis & cannot wait to return! We knew this building before they restored & they did a beautiful transformation. At our room door was a sign welcoming our dog along with treats! Very nice touch & appreciated
The staff are incredible, Megan & Todd are exceptional! Very hard workers & their goal was to please which they certainly did!
We cannot wait to return! Thank you for making our Christmas vacation so pleasurable…

Love Portland so far and The Francis is great for walking to restaurants and the Old Port area.

Booked a night at The Frances through Hotel Tonight. We could not have found a better place if we tried. The staff were wonderful, the room was pristine and modern, and the place itself is full of history. I would will stay here again when back in Portland.

Great stay at this tastefully updated gem of a building. Small and intimate. In a great neighborhood in walking distance to many bars, restaurants, and theaters. About 15-20 minute stroll to old Port. We just parked out car at one of the several designated spots and walked everywhere we wanted to go. Great sight-seeing and people watching. Stayed in a 3rd floor room. Like a nice cozy attic space. Always looked forward to relaxing and unwinding after a long day on that bed. Highly recommend it.

Great renovation to a historic building. Missing some of the common conveniences you’d expect at larger, “big box” hotels, but you can’t get the patina and experience this place offers elsewhere. Well done to the investors and hotel financiers on this one.

Rooms a very nice, and the staff are super friendly. Loved the location because it's slightly outside of downtown, but still comfortable walking distance to everything. Only thing we thought was missing was an iron in the room.

This is a historic inn set in the heart of Portland that provides you with a sense of simple elegance. I cant think of a place that feels more Portland, Maine. The rooms, food and service are at the very top of what Ive experienced in my world travel at very comfortable rates.

A+ example of gentrification in an urban residential neighborhood. A waste of parking and living space in a city already spilling over the brim with hotels, bars, and restaurants. Provides nothing new or useful except the temporary feeling of living on the main street of an overcrowded city while still being able to escape back to your undoubtedly comfier homes. It's located directly across the street from a gas station-turned-convenience store that sells booze and cigarettes to underage people regularly. Also, prepare yourself to put up with regular late-night and early-morning emergency sirens from the fire station and hospital located just up the street. Crazy and/or homeless people wander the immediate area constantly and will undoubtedly rain on your parade if you're the kind of person that would spend money to stay here. They like to drunkenly yell at each other when the bars close at 1am. Don't forget to lock your car doors. Take it from a long-time resident living less than a block away. This place shouldn't exist.

Very nice place in a very nice area. Very new place just working out a few relatively minor issues. It got surprisingly cold this weekend, and like any new place, you never know what's going to happen until the first chill. The large windows are great, but are REALLY drafty. Other than a very few minor upgrades they could make in the rooms, this really is a great place to stay.

What a beautiful hotel, wonderful renovation. The staff is so nice and inviting, they made our anniversary celebration so special. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Exceptional service and the attention to detail was a delight. The restaurant was superb with delicious food. Although I know it's new, it feels like the Francis staff have been doing this for years.
