Very nice place if you are alone, not the place I would stay if you are booking for a group. With many year of experience in the travel industry they are showing all the signs of forgetting who pays the bills. For the first time I checked in and was asked to sign a set of “rules” for my kid. They explained because we are in a group they had to make a policy. The lady at the desk said they had a couple people cause problems so now everyone has to sign. Apparently everyon…e that comes in a group… It has a list of 8 very general ways to get kicked out without a refund. The list includes things like setting a curfew because you can’t make that decision for yourself apparently. I have only done this at one other property in my many years of driving charters, tours, and being very active in things like Special Olympics, and youth sports. That place was also in springfield, and they had one night that some kids were being noisy. They used the contract to kick out every team in the motel. Including the very conservative Christian college I was driving for Volleyball games. All our girls had to be woken up and we had to find another motel at 2am. I would never suggest signing one of these, not because you might cause a problem, but because you never know who is behind the desk and what some bored night person who hates their job might say or do. This might even be the case here. When I asked the girl at the desk I was told, “it’s not you personally”. I told her I take them setting rules for myself (a paying customer) very personally. With a shrug, and the statement “that’s the rules”, I was dismissed. If she is gong to have that much attitude with me, what would she do if she were having a really bad night? Especially since I mentioned that concern after pointing out my shower handle was falling apart and I got stuck with a cold shower. I complimented that Charles from Maintenance did a great job and was friendly. So to clarify, I had a shower falling apart. I complimented the maintenance for being responsive, and mentioned that I didn’t like the “contract” for them to set rules for me and my kids. The desk clerk/manager got an attitude with me because I said I didn’t like it, and shrugged me off. As someone with years of travel and group experience, once a motel forgets who pays the bills it is a slippery slope to some night manager having a bad day causing you problems. There are a lot of really nice motels in Springfield. This one looks nice not he outside, but the actual amenities are not that impressive compared to others. Find someone that values your group. I’ll try to post pictures of the faucet falling apart, but the app is acting up. Not sure it will work…
