Las Vegas is by far my favorite place on earth. This was my fourth trip to Vegas. I chose Harrah's because it has an excellent location on the strip. However, that's all it is good for. Don't fall for their "cheap" online prices. You will have to pay a $28 per day resort fee once you check in or check out. I never leave online reviews, but I pray that my experience will prevent someone else from having the horrid time that I did at this hotel/casino. I'm not sure when Harrahs starting doing this, but at every point during your stay they will attempt to extract as much cash from you in the most criminal way possible. Anything that is labeled as "free" or "complimentary" will come with a huge catch. They do not care about you. They do not value your business. Never once did a staff employee say thank you or please. We were treated like a complete inconvenience the entire trip. To start off the trip we were forced to pay an early check in fee of $33.00 unless we went and waited in a 30 minute line to join their rewards program. We reluctantly went and got the rewards card, where we were attempted to get sold on everything from a room upgrade to buffets. My problem isn't that they try to sell you things, it's how they try to do it. They love saying things are "free" and then hitting you hard will a ridiculous tax when it comes time to actually use it. A great example is their Mac King comedy show. Everyone gets a "free" ticket with their room key. What they don't tell you is that there is an "entertainment" tax for $15.00 per person. The show was great, they could easily market it for $15.00 and people would go. But they choose to do business in a shady way and it royally irked me. When we were trying to understand how there could be a tax on something that was free, the attendant was extremely rude and told us that we didn't know how to read. Again, no thank you. Our room was disgusting. The carpets clearly have not been changed or professionally cleaned in at least a decade. They also put us on the 26th floor in the furthest possible room from the elevator. We went on a Monday when there were probably thousands of rooms available, there was no reason to give us a room this far away. Luckily, we didn't mind walking so it wasn't a huge deal. If you were older or overweight, this would have really irritated you. There is no "affordable" food inside of Harrahs. Sometimes it's nice at 2am to grab a sandwich or something to keep you going. This will cost you at least $15.00. Drinks are a minimum $3.79 for a pop or bottled water. I was even charged $1.00 for a cup to fill up with tap water. Now let's get to the gaming. I have never seen such a sour/bitter group of dealers in my entire life. I enjoy Blackjack. The dealers rarely talk and if they do they can just barely speak English. I asked a couple questions and was given short answers. Dealers rolled their eyes. They clearly hate working there. The only good thing about Harrahs is that there is a great independently owned casino right next door. There are also lots of things to eat right outside that aren't associated with Harrahs. For example, Dennys, White Castle, McDonalds, and others. My advice would be to stay here only to sleep. Do not eat here, do not play here. If management reads this, I think you should be completely ashamed of yourself for the way you conduct business.
