Reviews of Arizona Charlie's Decatur 3*
We traveled all the way from Denver. They turned us away because of a debit card and they don't accept cash. World mark Wyndham gave us a beautiful place to stay. Thank you for turning us away.
Food gaming fun atomsphere good customer service as well.
Great game selection and the cafe has good food but way too many hookers and druggies in there.
We had a delicious breakfast at the Sourdough Cafe then we got our Players Club cards from Ace play and had a very good time at that little tiny bar next to the cafe. Patty was our bartender and she is very hospitable and friendly and the slots were good to us today! We also signed up for the free football contest and got our picks in so fingers crossed LOL.
My family and I went to Rons. We all got steak. All of them were cooked wrong. We all sent our super bloody steaks back. They threw them back on the grill and all of them were fine except mine. So they took it back to through it back on again… comes back out still raw and like a shoe because it's been rested and cooked so many times. I ask if they can cook a new one correctly told sure… They cook the same one more again. Then, when he comes back and I tell him that it's tough as hell because they didn't cook another like requested they take it back and cook another one. (Still trying to get medium…) finally, the fresh one comes out (by this time my entire part has finished their food…) and I cut into my steak and it's blue… like not even rare… BLUE. Never. Ever. Again. I ended up not eating anything.
(follow up review) When Arizona Charlie's started it's 2 for 1 buffet on Tuesday's, I was one of the first to partake in this promotion. I had written a review at the time. After a lengthy hiatus, I revisited and feel the need to update said review. The first thing that came to mind was the shorter lines, not as brisk a showing like early on. Price is about the same, $13 and change for two as long as you present one player's card. Staff are very friendly and accommodating as usual. The big item they touted in the beginning was the brisket, it was excellent. This item is no longer offered and is missed. Otherwise, they have a great selection of all types of food and dessert. A bit disappointed about the brisket but overall still an unbeatable deal.
Had great time staying at this hotel and gambling in the casino. We went to a show at the Smith Center and wanted something kind of nearby but not on the Strip or downtown. This fit the bill! Security in the hotel is excellent and we stayed in one of the renovated rooms on the third floor of the Tower and it was awesome! Coffee provided in the room as well as a refrigerator. The pool was also very nice and not crowded. Perfect hotel and casino for a couple night quick getaway!
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights EDC 2018 weekend. I loved it! Rooms were very quiet and close to many shopping centers. I stayed at the sister Arizona Charlies Boulder but this one is definitely my favorite! The casino is much bigger. My room was clean and I felt right at home. I will see you again next year!
Arizona Charlies Decatur was built as and remains a Local/Neighborhood Casino & Hotel. Its easy parking, coffee shop has great specials if your looking for "deals". Its a convenient location and easy in/out access. I stop by on occasion to play, if I lose quick I'm out the door and on my way-no wandering parking garages, etc. Most staff is friendly, but I can't say enough great things about the security staff especially the bicycle security. They are always willing to help, sincerely lookout for customers in parking lot or anywhere outside on the property. I feel safe. Also, you can always ask to have security escort you to your vehicle. Kudos to entire security staff.
Try the strawberry shortcake at the sourdough cafe. It's been my all time favorite item to order while I'm visiting Charlie's. The lovely ace rewards center employees! always full of smiles. And having pleasure assisting with any questions or concerns that you have. Thanks for the t-shirt! 30th year open to the public. I can say that I have been there for 28 of them. I'm 32. Arizona Charlie's used to have a bowling alley. I've got plenty of memories there. Keep up the good work. Hope to have plenty more.
We rented the Meadows Tower, cause it was a few bucks more and I wanted something newer. Super pleased. Very clean, coffee in room and fridge. Couple of free waters, plenty of towels. Bed very comfortable and linens fresh white and very nice. Really was a big surprise, because price was so good Had busted water pipe on weekend and rates everywhere were high, this place is actually somewhere I'd recommend!
What a crowd in here. Yes I'm complaining. It looks like the Casino expanded with a really nice looking sports book area, but the visitors were just 1 rung up the ladder from being who knows what. I took my girlfriend there to impress her with a Golden Knights playoff date. Needless to say she was among the sausage fest. Probably wouldn't take her back. Beers kind of cheap considering. That goes a long way in my sometimes.
Older casino that tries to lure fresh tourist blood in with easy reward points, free gifts, cheap food and better payouts. I'm normally the youngest person in there and I'm almost 50. Normally casinos are cold to me, so I always have a jacket. This one was actually too warm. Decor is mostly dark. Think terribly smokey and lots of mirrors. (Smoke and mirrors?! ) The exact place where you picture Gambler's Anonymous getting their clients. They have a glass enclosed non-smoking area but the updated slot machines aren't in there. If I'm on the northwest part of town and have time to kill where I don't mind smelling like I came from a bar, then I go there for exactly what they lured me in for (see above! ). I just don't drive there specifically. I'm enjoying my free t-shirt and Bluetooth flameless candle as we speak. I've always wanted my candles to serenade me in addition to setting the mood to write reviews!
The room was large, 2 beds, nothing about the room seemed any different than other local hotels in town. It was comfy, plain, and the air conditioner could be set to 65 degrees at it's coldest. Also, played a in casino — cocktail waitress were pleasant which is a nice change of service from downtown casinos! The slot tech, I don't remember her name but she works graveyards shift or morning like 5:am she helped me at my machine… Anyway, she was awesome! Overall great people who work there, a felt well taken of and would gladly stay and/or play there in the future!
My family and I were discriminated on the casino floor by one of the slot attendants. I have never experienced anything like this. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service that Arizona Charles has come down to because they used to be great. We will not be coming back.
Everything was good. It's obviously not a 5 star hotel, it's not on the strip. Pool was small and not heated, but the jacuzzi was nice. Buffet was DELICIOUS. Bed could be more comfortable. But, once again, this isn't supposed to be a 5 star hotel.
I came here from Kentucky and this is the worst food I ever had. I ate at 1 star restaurants and this was even worse then those. When I arrived in the sourdough cafe and it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to even serve our table. Once she did arrive and once we placed our order it took at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive. I had several conversations with my family re read the menu three times and she still wasn’t there. Once we started eating the food it was worse then anything I EVER had. I would take back everything about the slow service if they at least had ok food which they did not. They claim to have “crispy delicious hash browns” but they are only crispy because they are stale not because they took their time. The bacon was not crispy and it felt like I was chewing on our car tire. The only thing moderately disgusting was the toast. I’m never eating here again and the only reason I decided to eat here in the first place was because another restaurant took away their deal. Please take my advice and don’t eat here.
Losing all the time. Only good thing is location. Rewards are good other than cruises that you can't use due to black out dates.
Nice place to hang out. Not fancy… good food, good staff and lots of penny slots. Prices are reasonable… so many hotels are so outrageously priced. Thanks Arizona Charlies!
I did not choose this hotel because it was 15min the strip and I just planned to stay one night but the price is good.
Sat down at the Sour Dough Cafe for breakfast. Seems the menu was re-done, I found it simplified with basic items, and can order add-on's as needed. Was comfortable, nice folks, families and kids. The Casino looked more clean and people seemed happy. Thought the price was a little high for what we ordered, but coffee was good.
The first night I got right to very dirty smoking room. There were traces on the ground, the ceiling was brown of smoke! The Deco looked like a hunter's corner after each one's tastes. On the site VOYAGESNCF, they talk about the multilingual staff which is not the case. They are moderately willing vis-à-vis foreigners. The place is a bit ill-attended too. It's a long way from Las Vegas Boulevard, from the strip. A car must be provided for this purpose.
It is necessary to count at least 10 euros for breakfast and about 12 EUR for a good lunch. The taxi m cost 50 euros on arrival and 35 euros on leaving.
Just so you understand that it depends on the driver and the path you borrowed.
The only good point, this hotel is cheap.
If you think about it, it is better to pay a little more and be good than to pay cheaper the hotel and spend a lot for the taxi because in the end, it is the same as a hotel on the strip where you have everything on this long boulevard and where you can eat cheaper and Have a lot of things to see. Here. … I spent 10 days at this hotel.
This is one of those "blue hair" casino's meaning filled with older people. It's not hopping or hot. BUT — the suits were a great price, parking was ample, on site restaurants were good enough. I don't gamble enough to say if the slots we're hot but they probably run about the same as other casino's in the area.
It fascinates Me to go to play and to rest of all the stress and to clear X for a while.
They seem to be afraid if they give more than 4 ounces of soft drinks to anyone under a high roller, they will go broke. Ever since they remodeled the buffet, the service and food really went down hill and is now in the basement digging even lower. Maybe this all relates to the help they now have. Most of which barely speak English and are not very friendly to anyone except people of their own nationality. Then, they will stand and flirt instead of what they are paid for. The same thing happens in the sourdough cafe. They have steadily reduced their offers and have removed most of the penny machines. It is like they think no matter what machines they have or how tight they are set, they will be played. Maybe they are right. As for me, I am seriously considering staying away from this establishment and possibly all of their properties.
For me the hotel is lousy, the rooms very poorly maintained and a horrible smell in both the casino and inside the rooms, the carpets filled with gaps of the people who smoke, the stained tubs, etc. For me it was a very bitter experience, rent for four nights and last only one per obligation, I do not recommend it to anyone until you make great changes…
The LEAST they could do is provide access to reception/check-in where those of us that don't want to kill ourselves with smoke could access. We even requested a non-smoking room. What we got was an ashtray in the bathroom, an ashtray beside the tv, and ashtrays beside the bed. Gag. The hallway was somehow clear & fresh, yet the room stank of a diseased, dying, wastrel. On top of the horribly expensive price for this run down dump, there was the celebrated RESORT FEE. What a bend-over piece of made up pricing! Las Vegas will steal every penny that they can from you. What a horrible place to be a tourist.
I've always liked Arizona Charlie's, but I have never stayed there. I was told they were remodeling when I made a reservation to stay there back in September 2017. I was disappointed in the room. They put us in a room that had not been remodeled yet and stuck us on the floor that they were working on. So we were woken up early in the morning (like 7 am) by hammering. Plus the room stunk. We stayed there a week. You would think they would move us to a better room or even a floor they were not working on when we complained about the noise. It was during the week, not a weekend. Not such a good vacation.
They've redone the place & it looks better than before. Tasty food in the Cafe & great dining specials! Steak & eggs with biscuits and gravy for just $5.55! You can't beat it!
Very good for local people.
The Casino and rooms, are outdated. The buffet is okay, I suppose. Its a bit expensive, for a family. The restrooms are kept clean. The staff, isn't real super friendly. It's real Smokey inside, it'd be nice, if they could invest in a clean air filtration. Or spray some fragrant scent through the Air conditioner units. Its a great place, for locals. I'm not real sure, if it's frequented by tourist.
Very good to play at the casino win very good eating all.
Not as great as it use to be. Security doesn't do anything to take care of unruly people. But great BINGO and Cafe.
Stayed here for 4 days, price was great. The casino smelled like cigs heavily, but I wasn't surprised as I used to live in Vegas and been to almost all the hotel + casinos. The receptionist was FAST & suppper friendly & knowledgeable. Wish she had a name tag so I could give her a shout out! I got lost trying to find my room because I was running low on sleep, but I asked the security guard and he knew where to point me & was friendly. He even walked me to where I needed to go! I chose to book the remodeled rooms, and it was super comfortable. The bathrooms were modern & it had a min fridge which was all I really needed. I did spray down the tub with some cleaning supplies I got from the dollar store. I wanted to take a bath! It didn't look dirty but who knows right? Bed was extremely comfortable, I slept really well every night. \ I did put up a do not disturb tag on the door for 2 days, and took it off for the remainder of my stay. & they replenished and refreshed my sheets and towels and coffee etc. Over all recommend this place!
Very clean with plenty of game options. Super friendly and helpful staff. 24 hour bingo parlor also very cool. Only knock would be the much older clientele but otherwise 2 thumbs way up.
Very good experience every single time I stay there. Bingo 24/7 is the best! And the little restaurant serves very good food for a very affordable price.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Well, finally a place I didn't like and wouldn't go back to again. After check in I got to my room and it stank of weed. A quick chat with the staff got that fixed by the time I returned for the night but left a lingering stink of something — sort mildewy. The single room air con howled with the wind. Off, on, cold or heat it was something between an aircraft siren and wild howl — annoyingly loud during gusts. That and the smell lead to a tough night. Then the bathroom had a wierd setup — the toilet was directly in front of the door, with the door having a top to bottom mirror. It felt really creepy using the bathroom, sitting there staring at your reflection sitting on the porcelain throne. All in all a weird stay and I won't be back.
This establishment needs a serious revamp. It's good for the locals. But don't bring anyone who you really want to impress. There are good deals on food and drinks. The machines, not hot at all.
Very clean the bathrooms rich food.
I always go to commercial steak and eggs but this time it was closed.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Good place to just hang out and play on slot machines. Mostly locals come here. Warning: it's a very old casino so if you don't smoke you might not like the smell of cigarettes! You will smell like smoke after you leave. Aside from that people are friendly and good cafe inside the casino.

Its location is excellent this surrounded by shopping malls and in case it was little has service be banks, and inside the casino it has comfortable restaurants and accomodation services in its two towers of the hotel, coffee service in the rooms and staff well Kind.
Wanted a cheap, casual lunch and a beer after getting off an overnight shift and wound up at the Sourdough Cafe. Clientele was positively geriatric, atmosphere was typical Vegas off strip casino. Service was okay, not great. Food was better than I expected. Beer selection was terrible (or at least whatever the waitress remembered of it was). My expectations were not super high, but I wasn't disappointed so I guess it worked out. Overall, I'd eat there again if I happened to be at the casino and hungry, but if I'm looking for beer and pub grub I'll probably just go to Rebel Republic.
Bingo room is nice. Enough people play to make it fun, but not so packed that BINGO! Is called after just four numbers. The staff is courteous and pleasant.
We booked 2 rooms for the long weekend. The AC didn't work properly. They replaced another AC in one room when we complained. But still the replaced AC also was not working properly. Otherwise the rooms were decent. The casino in the hotel was also not that great. But they had most of the board games.
Arizona Charlies is a great place to go if you just want to relax, have fun and possibly win some cash, playing penny slots or better yet, win a lot of cash by playing machines that offer progressive jackpots! The casino is clean, lively and contains a good selection of dining areas, slot machines, live keno, bingo, table games such as black Jack & roulette, and more. The staff are always friendly and helpful while there are also armed security guards all over, so you don't have to be afraid to win lol. What I like most about Charlies is they are very generous to their members and not afraid to give out offers, unlike most casino's that are so greedy they won't even give you a glass of water after losing all your money! Because all my visits there have been pleasant and enjoyable, I would highly recommend Arizona Charlies to everyone!
We went to gamble. They made a lot of changes in where and what games are out. Playing the machines is highs and lows. Lows being the always out come. We loose so fast that we stopped going so much. Very irritating that the stake house closes so soon. In fact the buffet does also. Overall we go less and less because you can't play for very long. We go to play with a few hundred for my husband and I. Not anymore. It's no fun to just loose loose loose.
Came here for breakfast on the recommendation of a family member. This is an Older Vegas casino that, in my opinion, has aged very well. Has a classic feel and has a good mix of older and newer slot machines. The menu was nice with many options and great prices. I got the steak and eggs breakfast which was about $6.00 after tax. Steak was a bit thin (expected for such a low price) and a little over medium rare as ordered but it's hard to get a good medium rare cook on a thin steak. Eggs were perfect, hashbrowns nice and crispy but still soft and fluffy on the inside which is just how I like it. The biscuit and gravy was really good. Served in a small bowl (like you'd get mixed fruit in) absolutely smothered in gravy with bits of bacon in it. Highly recommend coming here for food even if you don't gamble here. It is worth noting that it is a little out of the way from the Las Vegas strip. About 15 minutes away from the strip in normal traffic. Still worth it if you want a good, inexpensive mean and a slight taste of Old Las Vegas.
Hotel with large rooms but very off the strip.
Frequented by the locals.
The buffet was well maracillo compared to ones on the strip. Cheapest also! Almost mita of the price.
First time for me this morning. Food was excellent and our server was even better. Angela was fast and extremely courteous. I had the ham and eggs and was more than pleased. I'll be back.
Great breakfast and a nice casino. People were friendly and they make you comfortable. A large casino that was not that busy on a Sunday morning. Like it there a lot.
Clean rooms, nothing spectacular, but clean and comfortable. The sourdough restaurant food is FANTASTIC, and relatively inexpensive. Staff is very nice, and I love the fact that a deposit is not required, no resort fees and credit card is not necessary. The only drawback is the clientele can be rather seedy at times and so is the neighbourhood. If you are coming to see sights, it its not near anything, it's basically smack in the middle of the west side of the city, geared towards locals.
Aye there for lunch last year and unfortunetely it was a bad experience. Got steak and eggs from the sourdough cafe and the steak given was questionable. Have had no visits back since then.
Nice s employees.
My wife and I and family have been going to Arizona Charlie's Begin in 1998. The Sourdough Cafe has become like our home kitchen. The staff all know us. By first name always seems to be happy to see us. That's exactly the same with the valet. It would be the perfect place if I could get that lucky with the slot machines as well.
Nice Rooms, but you have to make sure that your room is cleaned to your liking and that the refrigerator is not plugged in to the light switch outlet. The beds are nice and comfortable and if you get a good maid your room will be spotless.
It was a great place to the second floor feels a little unstable but it also depends on the number of people in the banquet hall. I liked the service but I was there with DJ Wes and we dj'd this gypsy party that was outrageous but other than that it was great.
I ended up having dinner at the sourdough cafe and it was soo good. We had quite a large group so I expect the wait time to be a little much but we all enjoyed our food the only real issue we had was that the cafe was really cold we had to eat with out light jackets and sweaters on.
We ate at the café, the service was horrible, the food was subpar, and it was disgustingly full of cigarette smoke. Will never eat there again. The only feature that might redeem it for anyone else but me are the prices. Three stars for the prices, but zero for the rest.
I've stayed here many times over the past couple of years. Its always great. The check in is always super fast and the staff is helpful. Its the best no hassle place to stay for a local in Vegas.
Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this hotel! The staff is so rude and no one communicates with each other. The girls at the front desk are always bickering with each other. The housekeeping staff are rude and cannot speak english in fact one maid called me stupido because she couldn't understand me. There was dried blood on the bathroom floor. And two different occasion, housekeeping came into our room at 3 am waking us up. Stated they got the wrong room. More than likely they thought the room was vacant and wanted to take a nap or something more serious. I complained to the asst hotel manager about all of this, but nothing will change. I believe that they teach their staff on how to be as rude as possible. On my last day checking out there were 10 other guest all complaining about how rude the staff was. I've spent about $2000.00 in the last month and a half on rooms here. Doesn't matter to these people. Don't book a room here. They deserve a zero star rating. . The housekeeping staff.
Simple, clean, no frills, no fuss. Desperately needs a coffee stand. There was no "resort fee" but I'd gladly pay that in leu of the outrageous $12.00 per day/PER DEVICE for Wi-Fi internet acsess. Good place for friends & family of locals, esp. If they don't plan to be at the hotel very often.
Older style hotel but perfect for my parents and I for a nice weekend of gambling in Vegas. Nice atmosphere and I liked that it wasn't jam packed and loud lots of older people which worked better for me. A locals casino.
I have had some great stays at this hotel but after this week I will never return again. Service was horrible! Luke warm water saturday night. No hot water sunday night. Then during my shower monday morning water came to a trickle. Booked a smoking room over a month ago and was told at check in they were out of smoking rooms. Asked to be moved to a different room. None available. Only compensation offered was a meal. There should be less than a 1 star rating.
Charlies is a great locals place. Clean and affordable food and rooms. Machines pay out.

RespondExperience: Customer Service — Lost my driver's license in the elevator and needed that to fly back to Colorado. People here really cared about my problem, which for security and insurance reasons is not as simple as it looks like. Starting with Mary (works on players Card booth) and finishing with Ramon who truly is an amazing employee that went above and beyond to retrieve it for me. I can say that this hotel took care of my issue like no other I have been at and the people were AMAZING, personal, friendly and really caring. Thank you very very much for saving me so much trouble. 5 stars for Ramon and Mary.
Dirty place, disgusting rooms and terrible customer service. The staff don't want to be there and it shows. The walls are thin and they put me in the pet section (noise). I don't have a pet. My room didn't have running water and the staff gave me an attitude about it, so I figured it out myself. I wasn't on any deal and paid $141.00 for one night. Never Again! One star for the Valet.
This place is horrible. We called and talked to someone in reservations to get two rooms. One ADA room ($120) as my dad is disabled and one with two king beds and a separate sitting room with arm chairs and a couch ($199) after getting to the hotel and getting checked in we got to our rooms and they were exactly the same and just standard rooms. Figured we would give them the benefit of the doubt that they made a simple mistake and called front desk. They basically talked to us like we were stupid and said they didn't even have a room that had a couch. And refused to correct the price to reflect the rooms. But instead sent up a representative to show us a different room. He was very polite and apologetic and even told us that they did in fact have the rooms we wanted but most likely gave them away before we got there. He even flat out told us that they do this to people all the time. They make promises to get a room rented out and then completely change it on you hoping the average person wouldn't take the time to complain and change stuff around. We got a refund and went somewhere else.
This casino does not give awards to the elderly will take the extra money every month.
A real down to earth gaming house. Staff does excellent job providing any an all help. Very profesionable and know what we need. Servers cocktail waitress are fun friendly and don't lean on ya for tips. The food is delicious and priced below expectations. Even security has best intrests for gamers. Plenty of slots poker and really is a good place to go. Im writting this on my own because there may be more exquisite casinos if you like saying I was there. But Az. Charlies you can say" I won there.
Not that impressed. The restaurant food wasn't too good. The room we have is non smoking on 3rd floor. My sons legs and feet are completely black from crawling on the carpet. Its disgustingly filthy. I wonder if the whole hotel is this bad, or if its just my room.
As a local couple in Las Vegas we like to try different upscale restaurants throughout the city. My husband is a serious "foodie", a great cook and I am one of the pickiest eaters anyone would ever meet. We tried the steak house at Arizona Charlies on Decatur last night and have to say I was very disappointed. It started off good but went down hill fast. First we were seated in the back, by the kitchen even though the entire restaurant was empty except maybe five tables. We overlooked that. We were attended to quickly by a very nice and informative waiter who gave very good advice on what to order and drink. The Chef salad he prepared in front of us was amazing and for me to say that since I generally don't eat Chef salad is definitely saying something. He recommended an amazing red wine and great steak for my husband and the sword fish for me as well as a drink. The food was good but the sauce over the swordfish reminded me of the sauce in chicken pot pies so I scraped it off. At this point we had decided he was going to be tipped VERY well but then. We looked at our completed plates for 20 minutes with not one bus boy to clear the table and no attention by the waiter even though he walked by us at least ten times and kissed the butts of the patrons seated in the next booth. By the context of their conversation they ate there weekly and were well known. They consumed all of his attention which I am assuming because they are weekly clients and great tippers.
