Upon checking in everything was great. Got to my room, no problems. Took a shower, and got in the bed. That's where it went downhill. I thought a mosquitoe had bitten me, but I kept feeling bites in different places. Turning the light on I discovered BED BUGS! I stripped the down to the mattress and found several smaller bed bugs, AND a HUGH STAIN on the mattress. Housekeeping should have reported the condition of the mattress. If they did,, the manager did NOTHING, as these stains had been there for a while. I went down to the front desk, although she had just started, she did a GREAT JOB! She called the manager and he suggested he would cover a move to the Best Western next door. I was told that they had notified the manager that they ONLY had a smoking room, AND THE TV DID NOT WORK! I returned to the Hampton, informed them what had transpired and the manager responded by saying I could get another room … IN THE SAME HOTEL! I declined as BED BUGS CAN TRAVEL via housekeeping or guests staying in multiple rooms. We then left for a hotel in Hattiesburg. A great place. I recommend skipping hampton inn & suites in laurel, ms. I can't recommend a place in Laurel, but from now on we will ALWAYS stay at a Marriott property in Hattiesburg, MS.

Staff amazing and friendly room very clean had hot coffee ready when you walked in.

Enjoyed the stay. Rooms clean and quiet. Very disappointed in the coffee… was not hot and always tasted watered down. This is very discouraging for me, I love my coffee.

Newer hotel in a great place, close to everything worth knowing in Laurel. Staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are great. A must stay if you are in town.

Everything was first class except the bathroom. Seat was so low and very hard for two 80 yr. Old to sit on. You need to improve on this and then we would have given you a 5 star rating.

I hate to write bad reviews but when its cleanliness we are talking about I feel like the public should know. We were in town for a wedding this past weekend and literally all the hotels in Laurel were sold out. We heard the Hampton was the best hotel in the area. Well day one, we found one roach and then every time we went into the bathroom there was another one! Then in the main room. We called the front desk and they offered to spray. Got back to the room after the wedding and after the spray (if it happened), and more roaches all in the room. So at 1:30 we asked to be changed to another room, they said they had no more rooms then after talking to their manager on the phone, they gave us another room (not sure where they just happened upon another room since 5 minutes later they didn't have any rooms). The second room was on a different floor and different side of the hallway. Walked in and 3 more roaches found in that room. Got to our next location and found them in some of our clothes. The front staff was helpful I will give them credit for that. We did get a full refund but its cleanliness that needs to be addressed at this location.

Was 5 stars 7 years ago but now the hotel has aged and needs upgrade. Not with the $110 a night charge. I'm glad breakfast is included but not excited by powdered eggs. I'm surprised this is hilton owned.

A bit overpriced for the area I think but the Hampton was a standard Hampton experience. Good, clean rooms… adequate security… below average to fair breakfast experience… terrible coffee.

Clean rooms Friendly staff Close to downtown Laurel (which of you haven't been, I suggest you make your way to shop and eat). Comfortable Beds Quiet location.

I am not normally one to write bad reviews, as I realize no one or no business is perfect and makes mistakes. I also realize that this is a Hampton Inn… where expectations should be on the low side because the bed sheets are generally scratchy and the walls are paper thin. However, if I could rate 0 stars, I would because I have never had a customer experience quite like the one I had with the staff at Hampton Inn in Laurel, MS. Long story short, the hotel charged me twice for my stay. Instead of working to solve their mistake when I first called to report the issue, they refused to take the blame and said there was simply nothing they could do. After getting my bank involved, they reluctantly began to look into it (at their own leisurely pace. ) On several occasions, the staff (several people in separate phone calls) raised their voice to yell at me over the phone, deeply sighed as I asked for simple requests such as receipt confirmations, interrupted me, and even hung up on me. The general manager, Marilyn, being one of these persons. If you HAVE to stay here or have to discuss any issues with the staff here, I suggest you request to speak with the assistant manager named Michael because he is the only level-headed person who works at this hotel. After the final phone call where the staff member taunted me to "go ahead" when I threatened to take the issue to the corporate level, I did just that.

Very nice hotel. You get greeted when you walk in get told have a nice day as you leave. Room was nice clean.

This place blew our minds. We stopped here due to being on the road for 23 hours straight and needing a rest. We were happy to pay nearly double what other hotels in the area were charging and even happier with our decision after our experience at check in and check out. The gentleman who helped me at the desk was not only pleasant and professional, but also very friendly and helpful. He told me where to best park my car so we would be closest to the door and even opened the door for us because it was raining. This man went above and beyond the call of duty in every way and I wish I remembered his name so I could personally thank him. Wonderful place!

Awesome hotel, with great staff and nice clean rooms. Easy access from the interstate. I would definitely stay there again.

Pretty average for the price. They don't replenish the soap if you leave the old one out. Seemed pretty cheap of them since two nights were paid for at full price. Small rooms but everything else was nice and clean.

All aspects of our stay was great, except for the breakfast. The sausage patties were under-cooked, the tongs weren't clean, and there were no bananas for 2 of our 4 days. My experiences at Hampton Inns has been much better.

The manager on duty Marilyn and her coworker gave excellent customer service. They were nice and understanding about the booking issue with a third party. They gave excellent advice. Well done ladies. Nice clean rooms will definitely recommend.

I have to say that as mid-level lodging Hampton Inn is the best! These "just off the interstate" are super convenient however they are low priority when it comes to keeping up with maintaining quality. Our extremely clean room had carpet-tile flooring that, let's say, moved out of its original spot revealing the actual floor. There was a penny stuck to the floor between two tiles! The shower head was in need of replacing. It was very wobbly and sprayed everywhere. One of the things we love about Hampton Inn is how they use photography to decorate. The photo in one of the elevators looked to be vandalized. Someone peeled it right off the wall. We were a little disappointed that the decor in our room was tacky hotel art and not photos. In the long run, if you need a place to rest for a night, you really cannot go wrong with Hampton Inn.

Wish it had a, hot tub. Everything has been great. An older Hampton inn butt well kept.

Clean rooms with comfortable beds! Rooms had the usual with a flat screen TV, microwave, minifridge, etc. Breakfast was served with all the good breakfast items including the DIY waffles! Coffee was always served in the lobby which is especially nice. There is an indoor pool, fitness room and, small refreshment store on the main floor.

Stayed with work. In that month they forgot to clean room 2-3 days a week. Wear socks! The floor will turn feet black from funk. Oh yeah best part had personal items (medicine, razors, cologne) stolen from my bag. Had things taken from fridge, even put items in trash can. Didn't even bother to hide it. Talked to manager… zero cares given. Response "My people don't steal. " Not worth the $120 a night. If do stay keep valuables in your car. They prop doors open when cleaning room so anyone can essentially go in your room. Sent email to corporate no response from them either.

Nothing to complain about here. The room I had was clean and fairly large (King Suite). The only bad thing about it was it was at the very end of the hallway. The hallway in the hotel makes you feel like your old cartoon where they walk down a long hallway and the same door appears every second. The location is very nice, right off the Interstate; Makes getting to your event a breeze.

Was a very nice place except for the mattress was not good on the king bed in rm 328. We found 5 or 6 tiny little light brown specks on the lower sheet under the pillows, which turned out to be some kind of bugs that raced across the sheet. I did kill them. My wife has a bad bite on the back of her neck, which was not on her neck when we went to bed. Looks like a spider bit, and is now looking very red all around it and swollen. Dead bugs in the overhead light covers in the bath room and sink and mirror area. Otherwise, the people there were very nice. Food was good, mostly pretty and clean, super nice desk and clean up ladies. Oh, one more thing, the headboard was very dusty… I may not be back, I'll think about it.

First of all, I just quit smoking but they have smoking rooms, so that WAS a plus. The breakfast is what can be expected, the staff is real nice. Highly recommended.

The hotel is easy to access, it's right off the highway. It's on a strip that has a lot of gas stations, drugstores and fast food restaurants. The room is really spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast is your typical​ hotel breakfast and decent. Overall, great place to stay.

Very nice rooms, and nice large bath tubs. But overly-priced for Laurel.

All the cookies have nuts in them. So that sucked, other than that nice place.

One of the Best Hotels I have stayed at. The Coffee was excellent.

The fire alarm went off a 4 am 440 am and 530. No apologies from staff or management. I was not even asked how our stay was. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen at a Hampton Inn.

Nice and clean, friendly people! But the breakfast was terrible.
