The place is what you would expect. As people make great comments of. We book last minute for a night. $125. Also, there nice enough to call us but we got no signal when we’re on route. Ted (white hair attendant. ) he could be the owner. Not sure. He waited on us till we arrived the last check in was 10p. We arrived shortly after.

This motel was adorable! It's a cute little foreign couple who own the place and are so sweet! It was VERY clean and I don't agree with the other reviews that say the beds are hard. They were perfectly fine for $91 a night. The water pressure in the shower was AMAZING! Walking distance from the shopping district, we even walked all the way to Pirates Cove. Heated pool and ample parking. Room had tube tvs, but let's be honest who watches TV anymore? There was a microwave but no fridge… so that was weird. Ice machine is in the office so make sure to get it early enough or you're out of luck if the office closes early. Dated decor but that is what makes it charming! I would 100% book this motel again! Beats the $175-225 resport prices.

Nothing fancy but a good deal.

Location right on the main strip is perfect for walking around and shopping… rooms are somewhat small but are kept very very clean… owner and his wife are quite friendly and offer great service meeting all of our needs.

Located at the end of the downtown strip. Loved the location! Very clean, but dated (tube television with poor picture). Gentleman at the front desk was nice. Did not use the pool, due to overcast and low temperature outside. For the price, it was a good value. Would definitely come back.

Old, unmodern conveniences and decor. Heated pool, friendly staff. No fridge in room and ancient 19" TV. Convenient location. Beds were less than excellent. Skip it unless you get a steal.

This place has bed bugs. When I arrived home I noticed bed bug bites in my back, and found a bed bug after I stayed at this place your 2 nights. My room had a bad odor. The place says free Wi-Fi, but we were never given the password, and the password wasn't written anywhere. Plus what kind of place doesn't have an ice machine. There are signs posted everywhere about the rules and regulations, but you ned to make sure you're bed bug free before you start demanding so much from your customers. If you're gonna openly have bed bugs, you should have been a hell of a lot cheaper at least.

How was my stay? Disgusting, and I wish I had a time machine. Want your wife not to talk to you, want to ruin your family vacation? Stay here. Want to wear sandals in the shower, and listen to people drink 40oz and argue outside your room all night? Yeah stay here. Anyone writing a 4 star review had to be using the room by the hour, or heating opiates up in a spoon is my best guess. Sleeping in your car would be an upgrade because your less likely to have bed bug bites in the morning. Basically what I'm saying is go somewhere else.

The first time a stayed here a year ago it was decent. This time around was horrible. I will be blunt and to the point. The room smelled like a wet basement. The people above my room made it a living hell. Some one puked on my car from above balcony Sunday morning. These people were pounding away until 4am both Friday and Saturday. Never again.

We have been staying at the Colonial Motel for quite a few years now, The rooms are very clean, and the pool and grounds are well kept, Ted and his wife go out of their way to accommodate their customers. We highly recommend staying here.

It is a motel… so as far as motels go… the room is clean, management is nice, location is excellent, and the perks for the best surrounding attractions are unbeatable. Plus after the day is done there is a heated pool.

Basic hotel to get sleep, nothing fancy or particularly interesting.

At first sight, I wasn't too enthused because it is small. But after staying one night, I found I really liked it versus the bigger hotels. Yes, the rooms are small and very basic, but if you are in the Dells to have fun, you won't be in your room much anyway. But don't get me wrong. It is well kept & clean. The pool is great for cooling off and splashing around and plenty of chairs for lying in the sun. My biggest compliment goes out to the owner and his wife. They are very friendly and never stop working. They keep everything in tip top shape and will get you whatever you need. But one of the best attributes is that it is a couple steps from the 6 block long shopping and eating strip. No car necessary. Laundromat right across the street too (and that owner is super nice and the place is really clean too — couch and table for sitting). Just a quick addition. Monk's Bar & Grill midtown has the best burgers I've ever eaten — (the Bleu Cheese burger is to die for) Sooo, this is a no frills place, but a great price and convenient. We are coming back next year. PS — There is a convenience store 2 blocks away for anything you need.

This motel is perfect for staying in Downtown Wisconsin Dells. It is small but kept very clean and is run by friendly staff. My family came in on the Amtrak and the staff picked us up and took us to the motel where most things were within walking distance. I would highly recommend to someone who is looking to spend a few days close to the downtown area.

Stay away, I'm sure you can find nicer people to do business with! Had to cancel a reservation and the person at the front desk (who's first language isn't English) was VERY RUDE.

Its a CLEAN budget room! If you want flat screen TV's and Eggs Benedict for breakfast this is not your motel. It was out of date and small but the room was immaculate! Never have I stayed in a room so inexpensive that was so well maintained. Pool, sheets, grounds, parking lot was all clean! Great location too! Nice staff. Great pool. I give it 10 stars! Nice room for a great price.

Absolutley the best budget motel we ever been to, the best I ever remember. The pool was clean and slightly heated (more heat would have been nice). Nice quiet sleep, a problem with many budget motels, often due to air conditioner turning on and off. Here it was always on, which I liked. But it was hard finding out how to turn the AC on, as there was a wall switch by the bathroom. It was a small room and bathroom, but as I said it is a budget motel, but it was clean. They offer no shampoo, but I knew this from reviews. The shower was nice and strong and no running out of hot water, which happens often at other budget motels. The bathroom seemed to have a fan and heater, but found no switch to turn them on. Location, location, location! This motel is on the strip, main street. Awesome, though at the end of the strip. But since the strip is only about 5-6 blocks, it was fine to be on the end, but to be on it at all was great.

Have never been to a hotel that the owner/manager was so rude. We had 3 people in our room and my sister and brother in low has a family room so they had 6 people in there room. We were poolside so when they came down to the pool they would come into our room to eat and snack and I was called to the office and being accused of having more people in our room than registered. The day we left my sister and brother in law came down to help us get things packed the manager stood outside the office and watched us and again accusing us of having more people in our room. The pool was not heated and there was only 8 channels on the TV so there was no hbo, Disney or anything that is posted on there website. Will never go there again.

If I could give this motel zero out of five stars, I would. What follows is a horror story that I hope will allow you to learn from our massive mistake of staying at the Colonial Motel. My girlfriend, another couple and I decided spur of the moment to stay overnight so we could go to the clubs and the bars. Upon arrival we were treated with contempt by one of the most unfriendly business owners I've ever come across. No doubt because of our ages (being from 21 — 25), he had an attitude from the start as if we were nothing but trouble. This motel is prime location for the main strip! Just don't plan on actually staying there. When we got back at bar time, we weren't quite ready to get settled down yet so we went to walking along some of the back residential roads. We did not wander too far and granted were a little noisy and roughhousing (who isn't when they've had a few? ), but at least had the courtesy to not be loud and crazy on the balcony, our room, or at all on the premise where it would reasonably disturb other guests. However, on our way back and heading up the stairs and over the balcony to the room to end the night, we were greeted by two patrol cars, handcuffed, detained, and our persons and room searched. Usually you know how when you're staying at a hotel and you're a little loud they will simply tell you to quiet down?

We love it here! Our family has been staying here for about 4-5 years. It is also always clean! Also, the staff is always really friendly! Never have they ever been rude. They always have a smile on there face and they always are saying good morning or good evening! And, we love the location and the pool! They are close to downtown so we can just walk down there and then walk back and the pool is always clean and nicely kept up! We love it here and we will continue to stay.
