My husband and I love to come here for a weekend away from the city!

A clean, comfortable and pleasant hotel. Excellent service. Beautiful rooms and lounge areas. Soul reviving massages. :) 5 stars all the way!

Fantastic historic hotel in lovely Mayville. Spacious, well preserved and tastefully modernized rooms and common areas. Super helpful and friendly staff. I look forward to trying Nola, their restaurant.

I think they were way busier than planned and everything was very slow. Chef and two young men that seemed to be doing everything from serving to bussing were very apologetic and discounted our bill to make up for the delays. All that said, the food was good enough to try them again to see if it was just a bad night which I'm guessing it was. The three afore mentioned gentlemen should be commended for their efforts to save the evening.

The Audubon Inn is a beautiful newly renovated historical building in downtown Mayville, WI. The restaurant is in-house and called Noras. The food is either very good or very poor. The service is slow… expect to spend a long time waiting for your food. The food many times comes out cold or overdone. Although many of their food items are unique, there is a small variety. Noras is known for their roasted brussel sprouts, which are excellent. The wait staff does not match the setting of the restaurant. The workers need to be trained in hospitality & gracefulness. The bedrooms are beautiful and reminds me of a bed and breakfast. Very much worth a visit. Mayville is a beautiful small town.

Room was fantastic. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice jacuzzi tub. Big problem with the Nola dining room. Way overrated and over priced. Do not get the seafood boil unless you are going up right away. I had no crab at all. No more was brought out. Friend had the steak with mushrooms. Mediocre at best and the green beans were something deep fried you could get at a bar. Came out cool, not hot. Very disappointing!

Found this place on Google Maps and so glad I went. Love the turn of the century motif and decor. Great vintage atmosphere. Thermostats seem a tad finicky but it also could be user error which is known to happen with me. Wifi was spotty the last 12 hours of my visit out of 36. I plan on a returning for another "me weekend". Great staff, very friendly.

Very friendly staff. Well decorated rooms and common spaces. Delicious restaurant on site. Super comfy beds. Extra wide bathtub with jets. Ultra pleasant experience. 4th time here.

I have been in and out of the Audubon Inn on various occasions and have always been treated well by the staff. Facilities are clean, food is pricey, but worth every penny, and the staff is very classy and friendly. Would recommend for out of town guests or business engagements.

Beautiful place, beautiful JJ Audubon art and history, lovely food and coffee, MOST comfortable bed. The staff could be a bit more welcoming. We never received warm welcomes, thank yous or how was your stay.

Old but modernized hotel. Rooms and beds are comfy. Bathroom modern but pedestal sink has zero counter-top space for anything. This is the closest hotel we could find while in Wisconsin for the U. S. Open at Erin Hills. I'm guessing rooms here are normally in the $80-100 range. We paid $230 (tax included) for a room with two queen beds. The hotel restaurant (NOLA) is good but not great. Reasonably priced. Homemade chicken soup was tasty.

"Comfortable beds and nice rooms" doesn't do justice for this inn. It's a small, cozy inn welcomed with great service and friendly smiles. The rooms are well lit with beautiful lamps and elegant decor. Classic music plays as you relax in a 1-2 person sized jacuzzi, and the beds are like sleeping on silky, plush clouds. Well worth the stay and then some.

We were there for the fish fry, which we were told was "bottomless. " Apparently bottomless means they bring you one plate with five quarter sized pieces of cod and don't bring out any more. We were still hungry when we got the bill.

Went there on a deal. I really hope I get to go back. The only downside is that the bed squeaked.

The Audubon Inn has great food and a great selection. I loved the renovations of the Nola bar and enjoyed the staff and entertainment. Overall it was a nice experience and will be going there again soon!

Last weekend was our 2nd time staying at this charming, historic hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service, from front desk to the restaurant NOLA, was warm and very accommodating. The hotel is going through renovations and it was exciting to see the updates made from last year. NOLA is gorgeous! We had a memorable dinner as we were treated to a delicious, fresh, and fun five course tasting menu created by the executive chef. The modern Cajun cuisine rivaled any high end restaurant in the Milwaukee or Madison area. Considering WI lacks restaurants offering authentic Cajun fair, this was definitely a treat! The only thing missing was a few hot sauces to play with — they had Tabsaco which was somewhat boring in our opinion. Whether the chef creates them himself or buys some of Mandy's locally made hot sauces (we enjoyed those at the Blue Spoon near Wollersheim Winery) think about letting the customers kick it up a notch! We also loved that every room has a large whirlpool bath. We will definitely visit again. Hopefully, with friends or family next time.

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful accommodations and excellent service. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and quaint. The new ownership has done a great job with the renovations, especially considering the building was built in 1896. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a perfect weekend getaway.

Charming and quaint. Very restful environment. Friendly, helpful staff. The new owner (as of early 2014) is in the process of renovating and updating the entire hotel. Creaky floors, but this adds to the old-fashioned charm.

We stayed in the snow goose room and it was very enjoyable! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We ate at their Nola restaurant and they had a New Orleans jazz band and it was the highlight of our weekend. The food was amazing! We will be back every year :)

Alligator sausage was great and the seafood gumbo was very good. Service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is worth a stop if you are in the area.

I loved old fashioned charm with updated amenities at The Audubon Inn. We had a beautiful corner room on the third floor with a deep soaking hot tub that was soothing after a long day of hiking the marsh. The towels were over-sized and plump and the bathroom was supplied with all the little extras along with a hair dryer. The rooms were extra large for an Inn built in 1896. And the James Audubon artwork in the lobby and the all around the square open staircase leading up to the third floor was exquisite, not only remembering, but also honoring the buildings time period and its location, just a stones throw from Horicon Marsh. I also noticed all the little extra effort the hosts had made to make our stay just as pleasant as could be. The large landings had beautifully decorated seating areas where you could gather with other members of your group for a casual game or a drink, each level with its own gathering space something modern hotel lack. You will also find games casually strewn about for your use. And there were large and over-sized coffee table books about birds for your reading pleasure. And I appreciated the fresh scent of an air-freshner to greet us when we entered our room, made me think they wanted me to feel as much at home as when I have guests over night at our house. All of the public rooms, the lobby, dinning room, restaurant and bar are warm and inviting.

This is probably the best restaurant in a 20 mile radius, and considering its location it is a really excellent place. We had two appetizers, both of which were fairly normal things with a unique twist or way of preparing it. The steak and salmon were very good as well. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. While the dining room is a little sparse, the building itself has character. The service reasonable and polite, but was nothing special. If it were near a lot of other good restaurants it wouldn't stick out in particular, but location is everything. In all, this may be the best option in this region of the state.
