Offered, Orbitz was willing to be considerate and honor the rate but the manager, Nicholas was extremely worked up and directly defensive when I spoke with him. I asked for his last name and he would not provide that, I asked for a corporate number and he refused that as well. This is an embarrassment for Wyndham Hotels. The reason you have (rack rates) for 3rd party reservations is to keep the rooms full, right? Why not accommodate a guest that is a potential repeat guest especially when there is competition everywhere around your hotel. Nicholas said he didn't care what I chose to do if I want to stay somewhere else. Terrible management!

A clean, beautiful place. Staff is great.

I had an issue with my reservation which was made through a 3rd party. Needed to cancel one of 2 days. 3rd party was more than willing to help. The clerk at the desk was more than willing to help. The general manager dug his heels in and refused to help. I got charged for a night I didn't stay. Hotel is run down. Find someplace else that cares about customer service. The manager gives a half hearted apology. Why do you need to stand firm on not helping a customer out when your clerk said she had several inquiries from other customers looking to book the room on a badger game night? The hotel would have been out nothing by helping me out with this situation. Now the hotel has a bad review that could have been avoided. There are plenty of other hotels to choose from in Madison. Good for you for sticking to your policy!

We stayed in a single king room. Overall we enjoyed our stay. On Sunday morning at around 8:30 housekeeping was knocking on everyone's door. I am assuming she was checking to see if people checked out because I heard her enter the room next to ours. That was a bit irritating. Last thing I want to do is get up to answer the door when I was just sleeping soundly. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. Otherwise breakfast was good, the rooms were nice, and staff was friendly.

Was quite surprised at the cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. Had to shorten our stay because of power outage caused by massive storm. Not their fault. Front desk personnel were very helpful and professional. Would be inclined to stay there in the future. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff and a clean establishment. For the price, it also had the best breakfast. The manager's reception with free snacks, beer, and wine in the evening was also awesome. The tub/shower was roomy, and the shower head wasn't mounted too low like they are in a lot of places. Indoor pool and hot tub were nice and weren't overly chlorinated. The beds were fair but firm. Nothing to write home about. Overall I would highly recommend the AmericInn.

Excellent staff. That made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. The pool was an excellent opportunity for the kids to run off energy, the deck just outside had a gas grill and plenty of tables while watching kids through the windows. Weekdays have a Managers Happy Hour with free appetizers and tap beer. Rooms were clean and cozy.

Comfortable bed in a big room. Good breakfast. Clean place and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Also free happy hour 5-7 pm.

Great quality for the price! Very comfortable beds, hot breakfast features anything you can think of, super friendly and accommodating staff. Love it!

Room and common areas were clean and I love the staff and surprisingly the bed I had slept really well… the only negative I have is that the pool and hot tub should have been cleaner. When you can see a scum ring you know they need to do a better job maintaining the pool and hot tub. Maybe start cleaning it twice a week.

Wonderful little hotel. Majority of the staff is top notch. Some of the younger staff is still learning what customer service really is, but they have good people to learn from. Need to look at getting a shuttle bus to and from Airport, or partnering with the hotel across the street.

Everything and everyone was wonderful! Check-in was smooth and our stay was great. The pool was a comfortable temperature and the hot tub was nice. The managers reception was very generous. Great variety of snacks and drinks! Breakfast had a large selection. We appreciated the coffee availability and the cookies were a nice extra. Our stay was enjoyable and will book this hotel again.

Great prices. Clean lobby. Free beer and wine and snacks at happy hour! And swimming hours 10-12midnight for adults. Rooms are clean and newly remodeled. Beds could be updated, however.

Great check in, every time. Breakfast is good quality, good choices from cereal to sausage to yogurt. Rooms are clean and quiet. Great food choices in the area; fast food, dim sum, Vietnamese, many others. The only issue I have with this location is they sometimes ask about 150% of "normal" rates; I go else where then.

Comfortable rooms, actual high speed internet and the daily reception is nice. Knocked stars off after being joined by ants in my second floor room.

I stayed here before with no problems at all the second time I made a reservation through Priceline and a family emergency and came up and I was unable to head to the hotel on that day I called the hotel and inform them of the emergency they said it was fine for me to receive a refund and then called Priceline and they called the hotel and they were told something different a man by the name of Jose told them no to the refund I called back and they told me that they are hotel policy says that after 4 p. M. They cannot give a refund yet on the Priceline website it does not say anything like that I did not make a reservation through the hotel but with third-party therefore their contract should not have anything to do with mine the matter of the fact is I had an emergency with my family and as a one time convenience and as a one time guest they were not able to work with me he was very rude on the phone and told me that in email it does explain American inn 4 p. M. Refund policy yet I read it and it does not and very upset will never stay here again lost some money due to ignorant hotel staff do they ever put themselves in other people's shoes.

Rooms are clean, and the price is reasonable especially considering the perks for staying there. There is a managers reception every evening with free snacks, beer and wine. The breakfast is one of the best spreads I have seen for free at a hotel! I travel frequently to madison and have stayed in several hotels in the area. I stayed at this one for the first time recently, but on future trips to madison this will be the hotel I turn to!

Location was great! We have stayed here multiple times before and have had no issues. Staff is really friendly and accommodating. Located close to West Town mall and many restaurants. Great breakfast in the morning and they also have a managers reception daily from 5-7 with some smaller appetizers and wine/beer. Will definitely continue coming back, especially with the affordable pricing they offer.

I was traveling on business and was looking forward to staying at this hotel. However right when I walked in neither of the people greeted me or looked up when I walked up to the counter. I finally picked a woman with glasses and dark hair and told her I needed to check in. She acted extremely annoyed because her hands were covered in Cheetos. I waited as she spent time licking her fingers (each one) and then turning away and finally trying to wipe them off with napkins. It grossed me out that after licking her hands she touched my license and card. On top of that I got barely any sleep because the dog next door kept barking and scratching the door. Not worth the money and I'm never going back!

The staff was incapable of providing appropriate service to us when their computer system failed to show our confirmed and prepaid reservations. The made us wait in the lobby far almost an hour even though they had plenty of rooms. Extremely poor training of staff. I've travled extensively for the last 12 years and am embarrassed for them. Now it turns out they canceled our reservations because they had another couple with similar but not exact names. I'm done with this place.

Was a good experience, the staff was great, knowledgeable and friendly. I would happily stay there again.

This is a somewhat older property but they have done some updates. It is clean and tidy with friendly staff. Small exercise-room with 3 new machines. Squeaky clean windows. Slightly better than average breakfast. I would recommend it at $100 and highly recommend at under $90. Would not take much to earn an extra star from me here. Great staff, free tasty breakfast, very clean and well kept, great water pressure, high showerheads for tall folks, quiet well insulated rooms, everything worked, fast 50mbps internet, just a great all around hotel.

This hotel had clean, adequate accommodations for the price. The rooms had standard amenities for a hotel in the price range. The bathrooms seemed a bit cheaper given the walk in shower with only a curtain, but that's being picky. What the hotel lacks in bathroom charm, it makes up for in excellent service and an incredible happy hour. From 5-7 they open up a suite and offered free wine, local wisconsin beer, and a nachos. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but it was free. Go through hotwire and expect to pay just under 60 per night. At this price, you are getting a good deal.
