The room was very very small. The toilet didn’t even come to my knees was very hard to stand up. The rooms need walk in showers not tub shower combo.

This motel has all nonsmoking rooms that are clean and great for the price. The breakfast was a normal "motel breakfast", but the seating area is small. The employees were very nice and helpful. Great place to stay!

The facility was nice and clean and the staff very helpful. It was a great quality hotel for the price! We also enjoyed the breakfast. There were a couple of hot items and a good selection of cold items like muffins, yogurt, cereal, etc. We'll definitely stay again I'm we're in the area.

We are touring musicians so when we get to stay in a hotel, it is a Holiday! Thank you Baymont Inn in Athens, OH. This is the first day of Ohio Brew Week and all hotels were sold out, I was so thankful to be able to score such a fine room on such a busy weekend. The front desk staff was phenomenal; check in was a breeze and we were shown exactly how to get to our rooms. It took less than 5 minutes to check in, find our rooms and flop onto the clean and comfy beds. The room is clean and complete with a desk — flat screen TV — microwave — and minifridge. It has a window that opens slightly (my claustrophobia loves this feature), the beds are clean and comfy, as is the shower. I travel with boys so the fact that the toilet is separate from the sink is PHENOMENAL. The pool and lobby are clean and well lit. Parking is ample and also well lit. We never made it to breakfast but it is served until 11am — which RULES. On top of all this the location is top notch — a walk away from any store you could need, Bob Evans in the parking lot, safe and also very quiet and cozy. Definitely recommend this hotel to families and individuals alike.

I feel bad writing a poor review because I rarely do but we are currently here for a baseball tournament. Over 300 dollars for the weekend. The entry way leading to our room smells of cat pee and smoke SO strong it almost made me vomit. Looks completely filthy. Everyone on the team commented on it. Have to take a deep breath and hold it Until we get outside to the car. The room initially didn’t look too bad. Didn’t smell like the Hall, so we were relieved. Came back today to our room having been, “cleaned, ” so ridiculously. I would have preferred that the room not be cleaned at all because it would at least mean they haven’t been in yet. I can’t believe the cleaning crew wasn’t embarrassed walking out. They threw the blankets on the bed. Didnt straighten them. Didn’t tuck anything Tossed the runner in a wadded up ball in the middle of the bed. Did not replace toiletries and didn’t clean any dirt or crumbs off of the floor. Trash cans not emptied. The room wasn’t too messy to begin with, but it almost looks worse than it did when I left. I wish I could post the pictures I took. My ten year old literally would have done a better job. Very frustrating for the money we dished. More like a highway motel, in my opinion.

Trash. Old, dated rooms, no elevator, small TV, weak air conditioner, no safe keys for in room safes. This is little more than a glorified motel. Staff was ok but this place isn't worth the money. The reviews dont match the experience. Either they're phony or done by people with no experience in travel and hotels. This place should be 80 bucks a night, not 160. *****EDIT****** After a conversation with the front desk, they gave me a significantly reduced rate, which I'm happy about. Good customer service.

This hotel isn't bad for the price we paid. It has a nice pool area and the room was clean. My only complaint which is minor was the hot tub. They had just cleaned it so the smell of chlorine was so harsh we couldnt turn the jets on without burning our eyes. The lady that checked us in was so sweet and very helpful. Overall a great stay and would stay again.

Not what I expected based on the glowing reviews I read. Friendly staff, but the first room we were given smelled horribly of smoke (even though it was supposedly a non-smoker room), the second room was still unclean with unmade beds, and we finally settled on the third room which was clean but still smelled of microwave. Not the worst place to crash for a brief late night stay mid-travel, and we were glad to find a place with any available rooms on such short notice, but definitely not a destination hotel.

Our client Kim Shelter is a touring musician who recently stayed here after a performance nearby and was very quick to let us know how wonderful the stay was! The staff was very welcoming at check-in and the room was perfect. There was a free breakfast in the morning, as well as a fitness center which was perfect to start the morning before hitting the road again!

Fantastic hotel with wonderful service! This hotel has everything you need. The indoor pool is really nice, and the gym is also nice and well-equipped here, too. The front lobby has coffee and hot water at all times, and a really nice breakfast area. The breakfast here is fantastic as well! The rooms here are great, with two comfortable beds, a nice bathroom, and a good amount of space to spread out. The staff is friendly and courteous all around, and there is plenty of parking as well. The hotel is conveniently located very close to downtown, so be sure to book your stay here at Baymont Inn in Athens, OH!

Older hotel but nicely updated, bathroom is small but clean. No elevator but only 2 floors and has plenty of parking. Breakfast is OK, has some warm options in addition to the usual bread and cereal.

I stayed Tuesday through Thursday because I have family in the area and love staying in hotels. I found the hotel to be very clean; check-in was easy and the person working the front desk was very welcoming and pleasent. I called the front desk a few times and they very friendly and took the time to listen. The room was clean and could tell it was a non-smoking room. It was actually nicer than I expected. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine, nice sized TV with a very decent amount of channels. I personally like my pillows firm and they were too soft for my liking. The shower and faucet water pressure had a nice stream and the hot water stayed hot for the duration of my shower. My cousin and her two kids came over and enjoyed the pool with me. I loved breakfast both days. They have hot food (eggs and sausage type hot food), but I went straight for the waffle maker. I've never been to a hotel that had a waffle maker. Along with bagels, muffins and fresh fruit, it had a bigger spread than I expected. My only negative was the room was a little tight to move around. Due to a neurological illness, I walk with a cane and it took me several trips to my car. On my last trip, I went to the vending machine for a pop for the road and there was an employee watching me struggle with my last couple of belongings and offered to help me to my car. I didn't ask her name, but she had beautiful long hair, red maybe, a slight baby bump and she had a cart but wasn't a housekeeper.

Clean rooms, very comfortable. Probably the nicest hotel staff I have ever seen! When we went down to breakfast every employee said "hi" and then checked to see how we were doing.

Maids steal from patrons. Called hotel, they were not helpful. They need to hold their employees accountable. Do not stay at this hotel.

The room's were clean, the bed's were some of the most comfortable i've ever slept in… the staff was the most friendly and helpful i've ever dealt with! … but the hot tub was too hot!. It burnt my skin… otherwise I would recommend them to everyone… the Continental breakfast was wonderful and plenty for everyone. Overall it was great!

Worth the money! Whirlpool was nice and big, the breakfast was not continental (which was a good thing! ) Waffles, omelettes, pancakes, all kinds of options. Well worth the price!

Hands down one of the nicest hotels I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, great bathrooms, and an incredibly pleasant and attentive staff. There was an indoor pool and a hot tub as well! Considering it snowed while I was there, that was a welcome feature. Very quiet, and plenty of parking. A resounding 10/10, would stay again!

Staff is always nice, rooms are good, but continental breakfast this past weekend was less than desirable. I've stayed there before and it's never been an issue, but I made a waffle on Saturday morning and it tasted off. Multiple people also eating at the same time said the same thing and we all ended throwing them away. Then on Sunday, the eggs and sausage were completely cold. Just a little surprised about the quality of the food, but it wouldn't stop me from staying there.

Loud, lots of noise from other rooms. Not to mention the highway. Room was too warm even for December, couldn't get it to cool down. Breakfast choices were awful.

Overpriced for such a dumpy place. The staff are very nice and accommodating but that doesn't change the fact that it is a crappy hotel. Beds are uncomfortable, street lights shine directly in the windows and disgusting breakfast. All for 150$ a night.

Rented a room for our family on my son's birthday. The room was a little outdated but still it was nice and clean. The heated pool was still cold which was a bummer… the hot tub was nice and warm, but the chemicals were so strong if you turned the jets on, stung our eyes so bad. Without the Jacuzzi jets on it was fine though. The jets just aerosols this chemicals… So wet didn't use them. The continental breakfast was pretty decent. It was a nice night away celebrating as a family though and we'd probably stay again.

Room was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Hot tub was nice. It was nice being within walking distance to Papa John's or Bob Evans.

Stayed here for two nights in a row. Rooms were clean. Shower did not drain quickly enough for more than a 2 minute shower. Breakfast was average. The wireless Internet provided was very slow and loading web pages and email took a very long time.

Another gem. I was so lucky the manager was there. Got a suite at the last minute. Very clean, up to date and great amenities. Friendly staff and located close to Athens has to offer. Excellent place!

Stopped here on our way to Chicago while on tour. The rooms were super comfy, the beds were great, the rooms were big enough to hold us and our equipment, the parking lot was well lit and ample and Free! Hotel staff was super friendly and we talked about music too. All in all a perfect stay!

A quiet place. Economic more Q others around even cleaner and equipped Q other price a little higher … has normal pool and temperature inside. I was a month … almost all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Only as a recommendation if you plan to stay for a long time. Question X already existing reservations … I imagine that x the events of the university and others in certain dates is filled everything even you could touch leaving the hotel.

Steve Sabo · 17 minutes ago I recently stayed at the Baymont Inn in Athens, Ohio and couldn't be happier. I stayed in an amazing room which was conveniently located by one of the entrances. Initially I was concerned that tons of people would be coming in and out of the door and it would keep me up all night, but that wasn't the case. Either the room is pretty sound proof or I was super tired, but I didn't hear a single thing all night and slept like a baby. It could have also been partially from the giant king sized bed that felt amazing. Not too hard, not too soft. This Baymont is located super close to highway 33, without being so close that you hear the highway noise, and is right next to a Bob Evans so food options are within walking distance. One of the things I found most convenient, however, was that they had an indoor pool for swimming year-long, but it was located right next to an outdoor lounging area. This seemed ingenious to me, because you can swim whenever, but when it's summer time, you can still get the rays you would want from an outdoor pool. My room also happened to have a HUGE whirlpool tub, so if they is your thing, it's a great plus. I was there for work and not a romantic getaway, but if I ever have that option, I know a perfect place. Highly recommended!

Excellent attention! The rooms were very good.

The beds were comfortable. Pillows were nice and the room was large. The bathroom was way too small could barely close the door and of course dressing in there was a chore (others in the room). There was only 1 small trash can in the room so I found myself leaving stuff on the counter. The room smelled like mold or musty it seemed it was coming from the air conditioner especially when it was running. The breakfast was really good. It had a really nice selection. Check in check out was easy.

Pretty good. Relatively clean, but the fridge was not emptied from the previous tenants.

Delightful staff. Large room and very clean. Grounds are well maintained and clean. I found the hot breakfast to be beyond expectation. Very pleased with our stay, we will be back.

Stayed for one night, made the reservation online. The location was great, with just a couple minute ride to campus. Checked in late (around 1:00am) with no trouble. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, standard hotel fare. Wasn't there long, but had no complaints!

Really loved the, stay. The beds were comfortable, quiet environment allowing sleep. All room amenities in good working condition, the room was clean and very simple. The complimentary breakfast is 6 to 10 or 6 to 11 in the weekday and weekend mornings respectively with a checkout at noon. Awesoommeee =).

Stayed there for 2 nights. First days were fine, but the last day there was no staff to be found at the front desk. Stood there for nearly 10 mins with no one coming out, except for one guy popped his head out. He looked right at me, then shut the door.

Refrigerator temperatures are difficult to adjust due to broken or missing knobs. Food can perish because of this issue.

My family was visiting Hockings Hills. We wanted a decent hotel for a decent price. We enjoyed the swimming pool & whirl pool, good breakfast (waffles, yogurt, etc. ) and most of all, a great service. I left my computer charger and they sent it to me promptly; I got my charger in a few days. Thanks Chris and the rest of the staff!

Beautiful hotel for the class. Clean facilities and friendly staff. The room is clean. There's some weird smell in the hallway but that didn't bother me when I am in the room. Free breakfast and internet are definitely a plus. Many restaurants in town and right next to a high way. Definitely recommneded.

Our room was OK, quiet, acceptably clean. Noticed some deferred maintenance throughout the property, but not bad overall. Though it was a non-smoking room, it hadn't been cleaned of smoke very well, so we kept the window open. Breakfast was fine, too, about like all these free breakfast places. My main complaint is that it is a bit pricey for second-tier-down lodging; we've paid less for a nice Hampton Inn. This being a small city with a big university, I think they have you over the barrel when it comes to lodging, so charge more than it's worth.
