‼Well… after many attempts for the owners to contact is we are writing this to warn others. I planned our 10th anniversary getaway here. I paid extra to have a jetted tub and to my surprise the jetted tub was filthy! When the girl at the desk asked "how was your stay? " we told her about it. Her response was "they are so old and cant get them clean. " We asked to have the owner call us and to date have not gotten a call back. There was also an issue with construction at the b&b, which I read on here has been on going for quite some time. I also must have been confused about b&b meaning bed and breakfast… continental is served at 8am. As we arrived at 8am no coffee was available and very minimal choices for "breakfast". Overall it was a very disappointing stay. Too bad the owner doesnt care about making things right to avoid our negative post.

Last minute trip to Grand Haven and booked with Harbor House — Fantastic experience! Rolina was SO helpful and kind! Beautiful Inn and fantastic location — walk to all the great sights and restaurants in minutes.

Website clearly states they are pet friendly. Was told over the phone, they absolutely are not pet friendly, unless you have a service dog with proper documentation for it. Had I not double checked despite the site, it could have cost me cancellation fees and no where to stay at the last minute. I imagine it happens to many people. It is a scam.

We stayed at Harbor House during the Coast Guard Festival, we had a wonderful time! We immediately made reservations for next year. The inn keepers were so nice, and the hospitality shown to us was amazing! The caramels by our bed were delicious! What a fun surprise. Our room was beautiful and clean. Warm homemade cookies in the evening were also a great touch, and the breakfast was perfect. The inn was quiet.

This place is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Its quiet, spacious, and the people working here are so nice. They made me a breakfast to go bag with fruit, banana bread, and yogurt. Even had fresh coffee made all day! I got stuck in grand haven for 3 days and stayed here, I highly recommend it!

Me and my wife took a trip from Indianapolis to Grand Haven last week and spent 3 nights at the Harbor House Inn. We enjoyed our stay there. The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The location was awesome since we were just across the street from the Grand River and within walking distance to downtown and the beach. We would definitely stay here again. The only negative was the parking lot was very small and you were really packed in tight if there was a full house.

Nice place, room was nice, great location that's the biggest plus. As far as a bed and breakfast, where's the breakfast part. More of a continental breakfast, should be advertised that way. The so called amazing homemade cinnamon bread was not so amazing!

Not worth the money. Youre paying for location. We stayed in their "cottage" adjacent to the B&B and the room had a broken blind, comforter with a hole in it, dirty pillows that had hair on them, bathroom door falling off the hinges, fireplace had lose tiles… oh and the best part. The shower tub had two different color strands of hair in it. Cleanliness and quality is not their priority. Oh and the screend in patio had spider webs. When I called to list the unpleasant room conditions the manager said they didnt know about all these issues and then said its been a busy season so they couldn't fix these issues prior. Excuses after excuses. Lies after lies. I guess they dont monitor their property or their housekeeping staff. Never again.

Right now I am sitting on the flower-surrounded balcony in the soft morning air. We'll soon head from our lovely room to a buffet breakfast. A little piece of heaven on earth.

The staff was great, fresh cookies at 6pm, and homemade carmels also it was right off the water and within walking distance of everything.

Clean, cozy, adorable and friendly! Definitely would stay again. They do have a nice continental breakfast but, the Morning Star restaurant is just a couple miles away and has an awesome breakfast. 5 stars!

♿ After spending several hours trying to locate a hotel in the Grand Haven area with an accessible roll-in shower and enough room to fit my wheelchair next to the toilet, I discovered that not many hotels in the area can accommodate somebody in a wheelchair at like me. Luckily, I stumbled across this little gem of a place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place is very cozy and it was nice to be somewhere that attracted guests that were friendly and openly engaged in conversation. A stark contrast to your typical Hotel where people barely acknowledge each other. I am on a Paleo or gluten-free diet, so their continental breakfast didn't quite meet my needs. It was mostly Breads and cereals but they did have some fresh fruit. The accessible bathroom in room 4 had been recently remodeled and accommodated my fairly large power chair, although things were a little tight it worked out okay for me. I did have a couple of issues, notable for other wheelchair bound guests that don't have use of their legs… The shower seat provided wasn't nearly sturdy enough for someone whose legs don't work. I usually pack my own shower seat and bring it along so I averted that issue. I prefer to set my shower seat up with my back against the wall for sturdiness and safety, however the shower controls are on the end of the shower which meant I had to place my seat somewhere in the middle in order to reach the controls.

Unfortunately, HHI is not what it used to be. My wife and I have stayed many times over the last 15 years. We returned for a visit after not having been there for about five years. Apparently there are new owners since our last visit, and it shows. Some changes are subtle and only noticeable because we've been there so many times, such as cookies no longer out all day but only during limited hours. DVDs now need to be checked out from the front desk instead of just taking one to the room. There were a handful of other minor changes. The biggest change (and disappointment) was the continental breakfast instead of a plated breakfast. For that kind of money, we expected more. While the location can't be beat, we feel the qualities that made the bed and breakfast what it was have become chintzy. As with any purchase, getting less for the same amount of money will cause me to look elsewhere next time.

Great location to bars. Very comfortable bed and beautiful bed and breakfast. Breakfast was just Continental so wished that was more but would definitely go back. Clean and staff was very friendly.

Very nice upscale bed and breakfast. Rooms are all unique and there is always helpful staff here. Great location to walk to the beach or downtown. Breakfast is more continental, consisting of cereal, breads, a few other grab and go items and beverages. The downside is that the rooms are pricey, starting at $200 p we night and going up from there. Pics are from room 22.

Location is right on the water with a nice view and nice patio area. Within easy walking distance of downtown. Room is cozy, with a light and tasty breakfast provided in their lobby area. Very nice staff.

October 20, 2017. Was so excited to stay here for our first visit to Grand Haven. The best thing it had going for it was the view. We were in room The on — line photos and description were beautiful and misleading. For the price for one night $126.36 with the AAA discount, the rooms should have been updated, as well as the common interior areas. The comforter on our bed was dirty. The table the TV was on had burn/stain marks. The caulking in the bathroom was dirty looking which just gave an overall "not the cleanest" room. We didn't eat the breakfast, but just looking at what was out we didnt miss anything. Upon check out, I waited 10 minutes for someone (Jessica? ) to come check me out. I had rang the desk bell 3 times but it went unheard as she and another employee were outside for a cigarette break. When asked how everything was and I indicated I was disappointed and why, no apology was offered. So very disappointed.

Very nice! Right across from channel. A perfect spot to walk to grand haven state park. Very friendly people. Nice breakfast as we ate out on the porch while looking at channel. Close to shopping centers. The perfect spot!

First time here. Loved our balcony room. Spacious, bright and airy. Great view of the channel and was really nice being able to walk to town. Vacationed in GH all my life and this did not disappoint. Thanks!

A nice place to stay and a great location. Very nice and accommodating staff. Some of the reviews are calling this a bed & breakfast which is a little misleading. The continental description is more accurate.

Very nice B&B with traditional furnishings. Clean, large rooms in a very convenient location.

Terrible stay. Received different room from what was booked. Inn hasn't been upgraded since our last visit 16 years ago… unacceptable for the rates charged. Prime location is the only reason to stay here. That's what we did. Choose to leave a day early and was offered a refund. Got that. But charged over $600 for some reason. Had to deal with the bank to resolve that mistake. No APOLOGIES offered by the owner for their error. If you want to deal with aloof people who have no customer service skills. This place is for you.

Door to the patio/deck was stuck. Good views, slept well. Seemed clean.

Great location on the Grand River just a short way from Lake Michigan. Could view the musical fountain from our room on the 3rd floor. Nice park just across the beach and only a short distance from downtown Grand Haven with restaurants and shopping. Great little get away.

We were disappointed by the accommodations this stay, the room was showing much wear and tear and the breakfast wasn't very appealing. We will stay in Fruit-port in the furtive at the Village Inn.

Nice B&B with good views from room balconies. Comfortable well furnished rooms. No hot breakfast service that was a bit disappointing for such a nice place. Within walking distance of downtown shopping area.

Family friendly, quiet place. We were only able to get a king sized bed for all 3 if us. (2 adults and 1 4yr. Old) unknown as to whether or not more beds are available in a room. The breakfast was great for adults… but not all 4 yr. Olds like hard-boiled eggs. Totally thought an egg breakfast meant hot, scrambled eggs or at least the option to get them. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. Overall, we would book another stay here for sure. Location is great!

Cute place, great location for downtown and musical fountains, a bit of a walk for pier, lighthouse and beach. Less than a mile to public beach, with free parking. Harbor House had friendly staff, good evening cookies, and very simple breakfast. Breakfast option would be the walkable breakfast spots on main strip. We enjoyed our cottage room and stay. The Harbor House Inn was beautiful and in an amazing location right next to the water.

My husband and I just spent 4 amazing days there. The city is amazing and the cottage it gorgeous, it has such a homey feel and the staff is really nice. We will for sure go back there every anniversary! Loved that little bed and breakfast.

I'm sure I would've given a better mark for this B&B if we had stayed in a different room. Unfortunately, it was our 1st visit here, and we weren't aware of the ins & outs. As it turned out we had a room on the main floor and it was in the path of people coming in & going out at all hours. Needless to say it was loud especially when people choose to have conversation at the back door for 20 minutes in a megaphone voice right outside our room. If you stay here, ask about the location of your room. When we checked out in the morning the front desk didn't seem too concerned about our restless night. It is a lovely place with a great waterview and very convenient to walk downtown.

Although we did not get to stay because of emergency circumstances the staff was wonderful. Based solely on the staff I would not hesitate to book again. When we first booked there was a mix up in the price so we got the rooms cheaper, but when I called to make sure they said that because I had already got the email they would honor the price. I am so glad that the staff is so nice and understanding. If I ever have to go to Grand Haven this is the hotel I will stay at.

Great location. Great rooms. Great views. Staff was top notch also. Very pricey though. Also, the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. When I am playing over $200 a night for a room, and the breakfast is one type of cereal, muffin, toast, bagel, some fruit, and yogurt cups, I said "Really? " Being a pilot, I am at hotels 3 nights a week, and their continental breakfast here is similar to hotels. I've stayed at another B&B in Grand Haven, and actually had the owners making a hot breakfast in the morning that was top notch. So if and when you stay here, pass on the "free" breakfast, and head down the street to get a real home cooked meal at one of the restaurants.

My wife and I love Grand Haven and got to stay here together for a nice getaway to the lake. It was perfect! It's close to everything in Grand Haven and ideal for nice walks along the water.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Harbor House. We rented the Captains Cottage upstairs room and it was fantastic. The Captains Cottage is secluded from the main house so there is privacy. The room was very clean. The view from the upstairs deck is not the best but it was pleasant to be outside on a sunny morning with a cup of coffee or wind down with a beer/glass of wine at night. The staff were courteous and were very unobstrusive. Morning continental breakfast was good and enough to get you kick started for a day of sight seeing, exploring, lounging. Grand Haven is a nice little town. It was nice getting away and unwind for a while. Great place to get away to. We enjoyed our time so much we will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend reserving one of the cottages. John and Sheila.

I'm writing this for a couple of reasons, first reason being that I forgot to write in the journal in rm# 25. Second reason is to thank everyone. Our stay was for our small, intimate wedding ceremony. It was perfect! The room, the service, EVERYTHING! I especially have to thank Lisa for naturally and gracefully stepping into the role of mistress of ceremonies, she was amazing! We will definately be back and have already recommended the inn to many of our friends. Thanks again for making our special day so wonderful. Mr. And Mrs. Helms.
