Very clean and great location. Definitely worth the price if you're looking for something simple and reasonable. Small but comfortable and is a lot nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside.

Very clean. Modern bath and decor. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Close to down town. The down sides were no hair dryer and the coffee maker didn't work. Good place to stay if you're just looking for a basic room and place to sleep.

Friendly staff. I found the room to be clean and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows are firm. If you can, at least bring your own pillow. I think the firm bed was ok and it was good for my back. I liked the shower area. The location is ok. A bit loud at night. I heard cars zoom by on the street. I would stay again.

I've stayed in a lot "mom n pop" own motel. We were there a total of 9 days. I think it was our 5th day my boss was in a lot of meetings. Instead of having us leave do to lack of payment he let us stay so we could get sleep. We work nights. We were renting 2 rooms. He told me it's not a problem he can wait. In all my years and all my travels I don't think I've ever had that happen. The rooms were nice been redone recently. More than enough room in the one with 2 beds. Absolutely awesome people who run the place.

Comfy furnishings, convenient location, and friendly staff were the highlights. The place was average for cleanliness and the TV was difficult to work with no guide, plus there are no extra amenities, but the free Wi-Fi worked really well and I was able to sleep sounds with no problem.

For a motel, the room is pretty nice, hence the 4 stars. The bed and pillows are a little stiff so if you like firm then you'll be fine. Friendly office staff, great fan that stays warm all night. A little too steep at $60 but overall a fine place if you need somewhere for a night or two.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I booked a room for the same night, and due to unforeseen circumstances I couldn't make it to the hotel to check in and couldn't call until the following morning. I explained my issue and asked if I could be given a credit for the night I wasnt there or even a coupon to try and recoup some of the money I lost. He was VERY rude and not understanding at all. The fact that this guy made $87 off of a room I didnt even stay in and then refused to even attempt to work with me to make it right speaks volumes. AVOID this place as anyone that bad at customer service, probably cuts corners in a lot of other places.

I echo the comments below mentioning the surprising quality of the interior and bathroom. From the outside, you would not suspect that this is possibly the most beautiful bathroom you have ever seen. The room was clean, and the manager was extremely friendly.

Soon as you ealk into the office you feel like you want to cancel the rooms because of the office look and smell. But the rooms in the other building are very nice and clean and I like the layout of the bathroom and sink locatio.

It looks like a motel, feels like a hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy access to eateries. All I needed was a hot shower and comfortable bed to finally sleep well after a long, full weekend before my flight. Exactly what I needed.

The Cozy Rest Motel doesn't look like much, but don't let that fool you! The amenities are light, but for ~$50 bucks this place is stellar. The bed is comfortable and the room was clean. The shower was gigantic for the price. Biggest negatives were there were some paint scuffs and no mini-fridge. Otherwise awesome for the price! Just a room to stay the night with little else in the way. An Uber/Lyft cost anywhere between $5 — $15 to get to downtown, depending on time of day, so travelling without a car or after a night out is pretty affordable.

The price for this motel was met with hesitancy. After seeing the ratings and reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Boy was I surprised. Not only is the hotel easy to get to, it's about five minutes from downtown. From the pictures online, the motel looked ok. Don't let the outside fool you! Upon arrival, I was greeted by one the polite owners at the front desk. The check-in process was quick and efficient. I got the key to my room and took my belongings inside. The room was actually great! The bed was a nice size, perfect for a good night's rest. The most impressive part was actually the bathroom and shower. Nice size. The only criticism I have is there are a few places were the paint is damaged off the wall. Other than that, this motel is an excellent deal! Definitely worth it and will be back if I ever need a room close to downtown.

Very nice employee☺ it seems to be being remodeled? Our room was supposed to be one of the completed rooms. But the bathroom was not in good shape at all. I would not use it. So hopefully it's work in progress ☺

Owners have worked very hard to make this place clean and comfortable. If you need a no-frills, inexpensive place to lay your hear, check it out!

This was very nice place to stay for the night. Nothing special just plain simple room that was very clean. The outside was not fancy, so don't judge from outside. Rooms were worth the price and staff was very nice and helpful. If I needed just a sleep for night I would choice this place again.

No internet despite advertisement online. Owners were rude and age discriminatory when approached about the subject. Sketchy area as well.

The motel was surprisingly nice despite outside appearances. No frills for sure, but the mattresses were new and the room had new carpet. I will stay here again next time I need an inexpensive room in Des Moines.

The outside is absolutely sketchy looking, that being said the inside is very well renovated and kept. My room was spotless and enjoyable all 5 days I was here. The only thing that would have made this 5 stars would be the addition of a mini-fridge. Also as far as noise, if you turn the fan on you can barely hear the highway. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was cozy, very modern. Heating and A/C worked well. Shower curtain sucked: water got all over the floor of the bathroom.

I felt that it was a little sketchy but for the price it was fine. The bed was fairly comfy. Just needs a little coat of paint. Few fixes here and there.

Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside might not be the best but the room was nice. Completely remodeled with free Wi-Fi, an amazing shower, comfortable bed, & flat screen. Our room was clean and the service was wonderful. The manager walked us to our room and started the air for us and welcomed us. I was a little worried when we pulled up, but everything was nice once you got inside. The only downside was I saw a mouse outside run from underneath the cracked concrete of the stairwell to a garden bed… but hey, mice live outside and there was no mouse droppings in our very clean room. Trust me, I thoroughly checked after seeing it.

Outstanding room. Cleaner than most Hiltons I have stayed in. Quick, courteous service followed by a surprisingly awesome room.

The owner of this place has a real problem he has a temper and is racist towards white people. I asked him a simple question with a bit of frustration attached to it. And he freaked out canceled the room on me and told me to f off. He new because of art fest he could sell the room for 3 times the price. I had no car and had to walk 3 miles to find a motel that had a room. I was a bit concerned that there was not some under lying stuff going on. When his wife came out of the back room she looked really really scared and he treated her like a dog the way he talked to her.

I chose this place because of the price. My room was newly remodeled, the room was spacious! The people running it were very friendly. It is really a great place, and I will surely be back again!

Totally sketchy looking from outside but room was nicely updated and the shower/bathroom area was awesome and better than most hotels.

Priced right. The room was surfaced cleaned, but could really use walls and ceiling cleaned and painted. Rooms are opened to smoking so if the remaining cigarette smell bothers you, check ahead. Air conditioner worked great. TV worked great. Had mini fridge and microwave. Bed was clean, firm but not uncomfortable. Overall if you are looking to save money it will do.

Free HBO. The rooms were appropriate. I wasn't felt very welcomed though. Be sides that they have really good deals.
