The staff is friendly, the food is good. The bed is very comfortable. And the shower head has a few settings, one of which gave me a pulse massage! I definitely recommend this place when driving though on a roadtrip. Also it was quite affordable when compared to the hotels and motels I was looking for. Note I was looking for them 1 hr radius from here… this beat the others by $30 minimum.

The room was clean. The shower was a nice tiled shower, but the water pressure was medium. Breakfast looked good, until we saw WALL-E's little friend crawling around the pastries. I've seen better for less. But, in the future I will look for better places.

Bed bugs! Room 119. I work up with 15 bites all over my legs! The hotel would not even look at my room while I was there! It was pouring down rain so there were no mosquitos. I wore jeans all day and was not outside. I have bites in areas that were completely covered all day until I went to sleep. I have never had this happen ever. It's been a few days and the bites are still inflamed. This has never happened with misquito bites ever.

The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. Mine had a microwave, a fridge, and even a safe. We had a hot breakfast complete with eggs, waffles. They also had pastries, toast, cranberry and orange juice, cornflakes and raisin bran. We came close to the end of the breakfast time and I was so surprised because they didn't rush us and they even made sure we had everything we needed. One lady came after the time and they were even really nice to her and made sure she got something to eat! I also love how check out is at noon.

My husband and I stayed here while traveling back home from Fort Sill, Ok for our daughters graduation from basic training. The room was very clean, the staff were nice and food was good. We will definitely stay here again as we travel back that way the next time.

Nice clean hotel. Extremely kind an courteous staff. We were pulling camper they had nice big lit up parking lot for Trucks an trailers. Brakfast was eggs with cheese biscuits an gravy. Along with your cerearl, rolls an fruit. We will stop again.

Our room was very clean and the receptionist was very friendly. We were pleased with the location and accommodations. Perfect for an overnight stay.

Quiet little hotel. Off the main highway. Very flexible. Let me check in late at night when I had to. Has breakfast, clean rooms, pool during summer!

Hotel is a little dated but for a quick overnight it was perfect. There is an outdoor pool but was too cold out for us to use. Room was clean and shower efficient. Pillows were the kind that goes flat as soon as you lie on then so each of us needed at least 2 for good head support. Location was convenient as well easy to find. Breakfast was warm, fresh and a variety of warm and cold options. There were not very many guests so the number of things reflected that. There were 3 of us and only 4 cups of waffle batter so we were afraid to each have one as we didn't want to ruin someone else's breakfast.

Employees are very helpful. Grounds and rooms are very well maintained.

This is in a nice, quieter location just a little removed from the interstate. They have a large grassy lot next to the hotel which was perfect for walking the dog. Bed was a bit too firm for my tastes, but not low quality, and clean. Breakfast selection left a lot to be desired. When I got there, no one was there (guests nor employees) and it looked so meager that I thought maybe I had confused breakfast times and they'd shut it down already. There is a refrigerator for "cold drinks" that was completely empty and a chafing dish that had some gravy in it (half empty because they were out of eggs, which we're supposed to take up the other half). There were some choices: cold cereal, plain oatmeal with a few toppings selections, bread, biscuits, 2 juices, and coffee. As I was leaving an employee came over to check everything and said she'd make eggs. They were pretty good. The offerings would have felt much more substantial if they had kept everything stocked (found out later that they hadn't restocked muffins or cinnamon rolls while I was there either) and if they didn't have a big empty refrigerator sitting on the middle of the counter. Some yogurt or fruit in there would have been a wonderful addition. Overall not a bad stay, but nothing that inspires brand loyalty or makes me want to visit this location again.

A nice hotel. All room doors are outside, which they have both smoking and non smoking rooms. Staff is friendly, and make your stay as convenient as possible.

Stayed a while back. An original HOLIDAY INN. American history… cool place. Thanks for keeping it going instead of abandonment or demo.

Friendly service clean rooms decent breakfast.

It was a clean sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful pool, but not as clean as should be. Breakfast was ok but a little lacking, with the nice sized kitchen one would think they would do a bit better. Overall good place and will stay again when in the area.

$80 was not a deal. This is a 2 star hotel, super 8 should be rated as a 4 star in comparison. We did not see any roaches, but its defiantly a roach motel. Non smoking room smells like stale smoke. Good size outdoor pool! Jays inn 2 blocks away is same quality half the price.

Clean, comfy and quiet, with the amenities you want. We got a non-smoking room with a king bed, room 201. It had a fridge, microwave and a single serving coffee maker. Wifi, HBO, lots of outlets, 5 pillows. Nice sized tub with a curved shower rod. Check out was noon! Breakfast from 5am to 9. It even had a antimicrobial clean TV remote.

My nephew and his family just spent ten days visiting and stayed here. It worked out so well. They loved the wonderful pool and the great breakfasts every morning. What a great option for those having family visit! Thanks for making their visit so much fun!

The service was lovely, the pool was large and extremely clean. They were pleasant and polite, the room was comfortable.

I am here for work and the the rooms are clean, good people for room service, hot breakfast and clean pool. Amazing for these HOT days. Will come back when we are here again.

Clean room great staff. The price you can't beat.

OMG — the best hotel I have stayed in years, if ever! Staff and owners are warm, friendly, helpful, and inviting. Rooms are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The frig, microwave, and AC/Heat unit actually worked. If you have a dog, they will love the approx. 4 acres of mowed lawn surrounding the property. Finally, it is oh so quiet. When traveling in this direction again, we will certainly change our travel plans so that this is a must stay. The first time we ever stayed at a ABVI — hope others are as wonderful.

My husband got stranded at the Chuck Wagon, right up the road. We are from Michigan and our alternator blew, while on a road trip. These were some of the nicest people ever, staff and guests. The rooms were super clean and a guest even offered us a ride to the nearest auto parts store, the next morning. I've never felt so much love from strangers. The next trip we're stopping in Vandalia, just to stay at America's Best!

Clean rooms, nice breakfast.

The room is actually ok, a little rough around the edges, but clean and the pool is pretty great. I had some real trouble w/ the Wi-Fi during the first 24 hrs — this was a real problem for me due to a work deadline & the breakfast is abysmal.

My husband and I were on a trip when we got caught in a snow storm. Seeing no other options we stopped there for the night. The staff was really friendly and the room was old, but clean. The next morning, we ate breakfast there and it had a good selection of the typical hotel breakfast foods. would definitely stay there again.

I know, I know. You're looking for a hotel and you see Days Inn and think eww, I'd rather stay at a $110 a night Holiday Inn. Not with this one. I could not believe the friendly staff and how clean the rooms were. There were dead bugs all over the side walks next to the building because they spray! That is a good sign to me! This was a great stay for $75 a night! I would stay again.

Cleanest motel I've been in for awhile. Very impressed. Small older rooms but 5 stars for clean. Excellent especially for less than $70 a night.

Great motel. Usually motels off the hwy can disapoint pretty easily however I was very pleased this motel. The room is very clean and the bed was comfortable. There is also a diner connected to the hotel that has friendly staff and good food.
