The place is very nice we enjoyed But holiday inn as management is bad They are scammers who did not provide us with all the details to get our money back as gift card uncooperative They deceive you and give you promse to pay and return you by taking part of the money This did not happen I will never deal with this company again, they don't even deserve one star.

Great place to stay, rooms are large and clean! Staff is very kind and friendly too.

Nice place. Big property. It's extra money to go to pirates bay and some other things, but relaxing environment.

I'm having one of the best times it's up here at at Fox River resort Especially the service a service in the grill restaurant the cook Drake is one of the best and I and I love it.

Love this place since almost 24years ago just amaizing always be here we had Ami Img memories our kids grow up in vacations every year twice per year service and place customers service always take care us with respect and quality.

We had an excellent stay at this resort. The room was clean and we enjoyed all of the activities. We loved the indoor pool and the water park. What a great spring getaway close to home! We will be back soon!

The resort itself was fine. Our kids had a blast at the waterpark. It had 4 big slides, a splash pad/jungle gym for smaller kids and a lazy river. Our boys are 7, 12 & 12. The waterpark is not included in your stay, the pool is. Both are a drive from your room so bring warm clothes to change into if it's Winter. The pool was nice and warm. Our room was fine. The kitchen lacked a few utensils but we made do. Room was clean. The cons… someone was smoking weed so much that it was coming through our bathroom vent. I don't care if you want to smoke but it was ridiculous how much smell was coming in to our room. Lastly, my bf & I decided to attend the timeshare presentation. The resort charged you $30 at check in and if you didn't go, you didn't get that back. The lady at check in just said 1 of us had to go. So, my bf took the kids to the pool and I went for the presentation. Looking back, I should have just said we were married. We've been together for years and are practically married except for that piece of paper. But, I didn't see any reason why I would be denied to sit through it. First there was an issue because it was his name on the paper not mine. If I had said we were married, it would have been no big deal. It took a few min to fix that. Then she started asking questions which I assumed were more data gathering type questions. I didn't realize they were qualification questions. It turns out that my income was not high enough to sit through the presentation.

Good place to get away from your normal day activities and relax. Starved Rock is near by. Clean rooms. Great place to stay.

Good place to get away from the busyness of everyday life! Closest town to get groceries or go out to eat was 20 minutes. Information kind of deceiving…. Have to pay to utilize the water park, if you want fresh towels for bathing or the pool you have pay $8 or wash your own. No washer/dryer in the unit we stayed. Able to utilize laundromat on the property for free, need to bring your own detergent/fabric softeners. Location of laundromat not specified when checking in. Ran into issues with our air conditioner freezing up — staff very timely assessing the issue. A couple of other things needed to be fixed, brought to the staffs attention when checking out. Fans, chandeliers, baseboards need some attention, unfortunately you could tell lack of staffing could’ve been the issue. All in all though, not a bad stay, enjoyed our time together as a family!

While the staff was super friendly, that's about my only positive. When the room above us is so noisy, even though they were just walking across their floor, it sets off the baby's sound machine. Our lights shook when they stomped and we could hear their jacuzzi as if it was our own. Add to that a very filthy hand rail, too dirty to use coffee pot, and dirty silverware, I won't be back. The water park is presented in a way to make it look included in the stay. It's not. The rates are better in the Dells. Oh, and did I mention that the fridge handle broke off the first time I opened it? Housekeeping was there because it turned out our room was not actually ready when we got to it. Anyway, she said maintenance would be up but she never filled out the order. It didn't matter too much because it didn't keep the milk cold and we had to use the mini fridge. They also advertised high speed internet. What a joke! I couldn't stream a movie on it. And with no cell coverage we were basically the grid. So much was bad. A broken handle on the dresser, drippy kitchen sink, master shower didn't work properly, "fully stocked" kitchen without a pizza cutter or ice cream scoop, doors that don't shut, cracked toilet handle, and "roads" are nothing but potholes. SO beyond disappointing.

Very clean and quite a very good place to umwind.

Clean unit. Great area. Lots to do for a couple, a family or a friends trip! the pool is clean and huge! the staff is helpful and very friendly. We will be back!

Thank you, Holiday Inn Vacations Fox River Resort in Sheridan, IL for welcoming our family to a beautiful property with many activities and inspiring vistas. We enjoyed the spacious apartment with all the amenities one could need, the peaceful walks and the excellent, courteous staff. Every time we called guest services we were met with kindness. You might want to consider a better approach to the grille to insure correct masking and social distancing, as it got wonky during both visits. But the food was tasty and affordable. We hope to return sometime. Keep up the great work.

Took my daughter and 2 of her friends… Haven't been in years, same nice staff, same spacious rooms. The water park was a nice addition, wish it was bigger! Great place to get away and relax!

Five Star Accommodations. Wonderful Resort in the middle of nowhere! The facility is so clean and peaceful. The resort is near Starved Rock State Park Illinois. Tons to do in the area. There’s horseback riding, it was a lot of fun. It has a huge indoor swimming pool and outdoor pool. Golfing and Canoeing. Good Family Times! ❤️

Holiday Inn Vacations Fox River Resort is a solid 3 — star establishment. It's lovely for what it is, and it seems to be improving, but it isn't as nice as other locations. It's a little off the beaten path but not completely removed from civilization. Service is always friendly. Rooms could be nicer but they aren't bad. Could definitely use better lighting out there!

Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere! Nice place to getaway for a weekend and relax. Golf course is pretty challenging for a nine-hole executive course which makes it even more fun! Two reasons for the deduction of one star: 1. Rooms weren't as clean as possible. There were some cob webs and the floor was dirty in places. This is being really picky because we were looking for flaws. 2. No golf carts for the course. While pull carts can definitely help, the elevation and length of the course can make it difficult for older people. This was the case for my grandparents.

I have been going there as long as I can remember, and have never had a bad experience, the staff has always been amazing. However, I do miss the trailer park, but the staff is very caring about safety. I remember a few years ago, I had went with my cousins, and we were going to go mini golfing, we had no service so we left our phones and left, little did we know my aunt was trying to reach us, and after no one would answer their phones, she called the manager, and he looked for us every where, and said he just came to make sure we were safe, because my aunt was trying to reach us.

Comfortable and Nice facility. The room was very comfortable although a bit small. Packed in with the full size kitchenette, bathroom, beds, a small table and chairs and a comfortable chair. Felt a lot more hotel like than a resort space when compared to other resorts I've been to. The property is fairly spread out so you could walk across it but be ready to walk up and down hills in the process. Great activities around the property. Plenty to keep kids or adults busy. Registration building has the guest laundry along with many other activities. Pools were cold but comfortable and the hot tub was hot. So overall, I will enjoy spending more time here in the future.

Recently stayed here for 3 nights in a two bedroom Villa and had a great time. The rooms were clean for the most part except the bathroom. Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The mini golf is fun but could definitely use some maintenance as it seems pretty worn. The pools were great and clean. Loved that we could rent movies for free. We did not go to the water park as it seemed a little pricey for the size and what it offered. Overall had a great experience and will be back again.

Even 2 teenage boys had a great time.

My family and I had a blast!

First the good news — they have free miniature golf, and there's a neat general store just down the street. They also have a free pool, heavily used by families — so if you don't want to get splashed or you want to swim laps you're out of luck. I can't give it more than one star though — the management needs to get it's act together! We had contractors working next to our unit with impact drivers and drills. You know, the tools a mechanic uses to take off your tire — BWAAAT! Imagine putting a steel bucket over your head, putting that tool against the bucket, then pulling the trigger. Unbelievable. In addition, we woke one morning to find that the water had been turned off to our building. It took five and a half hours to get the water back on, and at times the contractor wasn't even working on it. Not a pleasant stay.

We stayed in one of the presidents suites. It was very nice and had a washer and dryer inside the unit. We also went swimming and to the water park. Very friendly staff and a great set up. We will definitely be back soon.

Quiet area but relaxing. Nice n clean condo. But for us not enough to do in the town. But we had fun just doing activities in the resort for our short stay. If we were staying for a few more days I'd want more to do in town.

It was a very wonderful get away. We very much enjoyed the pool. It was very warm. It felt like I was being given a hug. The beds were alright. Over all good place to get away.

I love it here! So peaceful, clean, a beautiful outdoor environment, well facilitated with household needs, and inspiring! It's my brothers Timeshare but periodically I do get to come here and enjoy! I just plain love everything about this resort!

Nice clean. Staff is friendly. Water park is fun and if you go during the right season you will have plenty of family activities to do. This my second home. Love this place!
