We are very disappointed in how our situation was handled after the 8u baseball tournament was cancelled this weekend due to the terrible storms. We were still charged for a one night stay even though we did not stay. Other hotels in the area were understanding to the situation, and was able to cancel reservations without charging families for a stay that didn’t happen. We will be sure to tell our other friends and families about this situation.

I really enjoyed my stay here the service is wonderful and the rooms are very nice beds are very comfortable and pool is very nice.

We stayed here when we were caught in a blizzard in the Midwest. Great hotel, great rates and the rooms are good size. The breakfast was pretty good as well.

I have been staying here for 9 years. The staff is always pleasant and helpful.

The outside of the hotel is and older building with some charm. The parking is kind of weird and the neighborhood isn't that great. Inside the hotel is fairly new however renovations are ongoing for the adjoining restaurant. The room itself is nice albeit a little on the smaller side. All in all it's not a bad place to stay.

This Hampton Inn has a Great and Kind staff! Yummy and beautifully prepared breakfast and newly remodeled rooms with comfy beds. A peaceful and pleasant stay was enjoyed by this Diamond Hilton Honors Family. We were taken by the amount of people strolling up and down the older city sidewalks at night… just truly a safe and intriguing area. ☆☆☆☆☆ A must visit ♡

Nice updated room. Spent the night here with my girlfriend and had an amazing time. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cool. The bathroom faucet for the sink needed to be longer as it basically sprayed out onto the counter. The front desk staff was nice. The pool and gym looked nice, but didnt get around to using either. I would definitely stay again.

This is a very nice hotel in downtown Freeport. I have family scattered throughout the area, so this makes a great central location. Convenient free parking right across the street. Staff is always friendly and helpful. And breakfast is included!

We have now stayed at this hotel twice and have had exceptional customer service each time. We brought our service dog in-training and the staff responded with excitement that he was with us and also respected that he was working. The rooms were very clean and had nice decorations. The breakfast was very good and better than any of the other Hilton brand hotel we have stayed at. We have spent many nights at Hilton hotels and this one was the best in my opinion.

Love the Hilton hotels: best bed off all chains! I sleep like a baby!

As a freeport native, it pains me to say that my experience was horrible from start to finish.
I called the Hampton on Monday to reserve a room for Saturday. The woman on the phone was extremely rude, I could barely get a word in due to her telling me the rules before I could even inquire about their rooms. It was my daughters 5th birthday this past weekend, We had recently moved to Chicago but all of our family lives in Freeport so why not come back? I requested 2 a-joining queen rooms and she took my card information over the phone and confirmed the room would be adjoined. Fast forward to Saturday. I called the hotel to confirm my room and the receptionist confirmed that we were good to go! After my daughters birthday party we grab all the girls and get ready to go to the rooms I booked. Mind you I had 5 girls with me ages 9-4. I go in to speak to the lady and before I could even tell her my name to say I'm here to check in to the adjoining room. She stated my room was booked. I thought it was a joke because I BOOKED THE ROOM. So how could it be booked? She said that she could get us rooms down the hall for each other and when I told her that wasn't going to work she looked at me and shrugged her shoulders and said " I don't know what your going to do but there's nothing I can do about it". I would have NEVER booked with you guys if I knew you could not guarantee I would get what I requested and was willing to pay for. This truly ruined my daughters birthday.

This place sucks. Air sucks. Bar next door writes out itemized receipts. Bed has stains. Only reason for 2 stars is price and even that was iffy.

Ordered ciminos at my stay. Tourtallini ala panna was delicious.

Corner Bar Martini's on Main had a good atmosphere but the music was a little loud. Drinks, and staff were both professional and courteous.

Our son and his wife were married in Freeport and their families and guests were all from out of town. This hotel and the staff were never anything but kind and gracious, even after midnight! The rooms were clean, and very comfortable. Thank you Sherry and all of your staff from housekeeping to nights, for the smiles and the kindness!

Recently remodeled, clean, and safe. Very friendly and helpful staff. Full breakfast with lots of diet options. Great location, very quiet at night but close to everything.

Nice facility. I've stayed before. Clean. Comfortable bed. Nothing to complain about other than the breakfast. Offer omelettes or eggs everyday would be preferred. No bagels with cheese and eggs please. Also sausages way too salty. This is a common problem with Hamptons though.

My work arranges for me to stay here. It's nothing fabulous, but a decent hotel and always clean. Nice, accommodating staff. Small pool and gym are nice amenities. I usually skip the breakfast, except for maybe a piece of fruit and a yogurt.

Nice hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Not many places to park in either lot, but luckily it was not an issue. Staff was very nice.

The rooms were very clean, luxurious, and spacious. The staff was really friendly and polite. The breakfast was delicious and is no doubt the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Perfect place to stay when you're out of town. Fantastic hotel and I would love to stay here again. (Oh and a random comment, the water pressure is great).

Very clean hotel. Breakfast is awesome even homemade waffles! I would give 5 stars but our mattress is extra springy. But comfortable alot of pillows nice bathroom. I would stay again!

The beds are very comfortable! The staff are always polite and ready to help you with questions! The only place we like to stay when we visit!

Room was clean, as usual, but the water pressure, and slow draining tub on the seventh floor, disappointed.

Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of food. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hampton Inn inside a renovated old downtown hotel. Rooms are nice and staff is generally very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great! There is a restaurant attached, but that's closing in June 2016. There are a couple places to eat within walking distance. Biggest down side is that the HVAC systems need replacement or reconfiguration and the windows don't open… If you need a cool room and/or a constant fan to sleep, stay somewhere else or be prepared to work around it.

The rooms were clean the beds were comfortable. The majority of staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The kids loved the pool, it isn't a standard size pool only 4 foot deep but worked well for us. We did however have one individual at the front desk, on the morning of our first night's stay, who was rude and down right mean. This young lady should never be allowed at the front desk.

I liked my stay here. The building is nice and unique but I expected the interior to look nicer. A little outdated but clean and nice.

If you have to be in Freeport, this is the hotel to do it in. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is decent. The staff is very friendly and the price isn't terrible.

I stayed at this hotel two different times for a week at a time. During my last visit, my vehicle was broken into and belonging stolen; window was smashed in and the vehicle was tossed for anything valuable. While the hotel was aplogogetic since it happened right in their parking lot, I was very disappointed to learn that the hotel doesn't have any sort of security or surveilance system in place to deter vandalism or theft despite its proximity to somewhat questionable neighborhoods. Despite the many upsides to this hotel, I will not be staying again in the future. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the updated interior and the condition of the rooms was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The attached Main St. Bar and Grill was a great addition and the Manager's Reception hosted there was very good and the food was excellent. The breakfast was good with several hot and cold options but the coffee and hot water for tea were often luke warm to cold if not gotten at the very beginning of the day.

I come to Freeport to visit family in the area. This trip I discovered this hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The continental breakfast was good. At night the bistro had live jazz and there is a pool. The staff was very polite and professional. I won't stay anywhere else in Freeport now.

07-14-2012. Solid Hampton. Good value. The meeting room was full of local alumni celebrating a wedding and having a blast. Kudos for staff to let them celebrate. Had a take out from Joe's New York style pizza down the street, Ran into a "closed street" dance with local band — fun. Nice to see swing dancing in action. Small town — maybe — but felt at home with the entire community that night. Freeport has seen it's share of the turn down in the economy — but we had a great night. Would stay again next time I'm on the way thru to the Field of Dreams via Chicago. Parking was next door and free — yes free.

We booked the Hampton Inn in Freeport, IL on our way to visit our in-laws because in the past we loved our Hilton experiences and I collect HiltonHonors Points. I was disappointed when I drove for 2 hours and I arrived to find the lobby was not air conditioned (it was during a major heat wave). Secondly, as soon as my family and I arrived to our room, the smell of cigarette smoke was extremely overwhelming (as a former smoker, the smell really turned me off). The air conditioning unit was set by a digital thermostat to 70 degrees upon entering. During the overnight hours, it had not "kicked in" at all. When we woke up in the morning, everyone was sweating and hot. We had to physically turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees to get it to "kick in". By then, we had all had a miserable nights sleep. The mattresses are not a very good quality (we had a 2 queen bed room) and the bedding reeked of nicotine. I turned the television off around midnight and had to immediately turn it back on to drown out the noise of traffic (we were on the 7th floor). Cars were revving their engines and peeling away at the stoplights. Not very sound proof windows. The final disappointment was the air conditioning unit’s filter was extremely filthy. I believe that contributed to the smell of the room. In the morning when my family and I went down for the breakfast, the lobby/dining area was extremely warm (temperatures outside were near 80 degrees at 8:30 am).
