They let us check in early so that was nice. Other than that I wont be back. The only thing appealing was the remodel but in person it's not quite what it appears online. Not to mention there is only one small mirror in the bathroom over the sink and the towels are so thin and hard you almost dont want to use them. Just to name a few things…

I stayed here NYE 2017 with my girlfriend & a couple friends. The hotel was very clean despite looking a little shabby from the outside. The hotel attendant was nice enough but not overly friendly. I noticed the people in line ahead of me had some issue where they got charged 2x for their stay, but thankfully that did not happen to me. The room was spacious & the bed was comfortable. I wouldn't mind staying there again if I was in that area.

Ok for just an overnight stay. King bed was hard as a rock. Towels were cheap, thin, small and left lint on your body. No soap dish in shower. It was clean though and fridge worked. Nice TV.

Great place nice small rooms. Parking is awesome right outside your room. They do not have anything (besides shampoo and soap) so make sure you have your basic stuff. The cable is great but the TV was weirdly located? I have no complaints besides what I've written. Nice small place to consider.

This Rodeway Inn location is about 1 year old at the time of this writing. A brand new building easily accessible from public transportation is a very nice stay for the price. My partner and I were some of the first guests when they opened and we stayed there again recently. I have to say that the place still looks just as clean and new as it did last year. Flat-screen TV with all the available cable TV channels, VERY comfortable beds (although the pillows could have been better — not firm and retained a lot of heat) a mini fridge and microwave in each room and ample places to shop for basics or the expensive all within a 5-10minute walk. We felt like we had plenty of privacy, so didn't have to be overly concerned with our noise level, even late at night. We only occasionally heard someone entering or exciting the rooms we shared and entryway with. The staff was efficient and wonderful, happy to help us with any request. The only thing I wish was different is that there would be a guest convenience room that offered snack, soda and ice machines without needing to get buzzed into the front desk. Late at night it's inconvenient to walk to the local Walgreens for snacks.

The outside if the building, and perhaps the neighborhood in general, might be a deterrent at first, but do consider staying here. The rooms themself are beautiful by comparison, and are pleasant enough for a few nights stay. Only two things I would change would be to change the position of the TV in the rooms (off center of the bed), and change the lights in the bathroom (the main light was motion but not occupancy sensing, so would shut itself off after a few moments of being on the toilet. )

After an afternoon baseball we were ready to relax. We checked in before the game and was there for only minute. When we returned around 8pm, we wanted to relax and watch TV. Turned the TV on and no signal. Called the desk, and it sounded like they needed to do something. We waited. Ended up going to the desk, the guy there was hard to understand, but basically said it might come on or might not. Said since it was Saturday, there was not much they could do. Asked if they were going to compensate something since we expected a working tv. He said no he couldn't do anything, told him we'd contact the corporate office. A while later he called and said maintenance would be on their way to look at it. After another hour and half, we called the desk again to find out when they were coming. We were told not until 8am. Then a little after 10 they called and said maintenance would be there in a few minutes. Finally showed up. Had to mess with some buttons underneath the tv, but got it to work. The desk people should be trained to solve these issues as I read someone else had the same problem at this hotel. Also, I don't know what they use to clean but the room has an odor that reminds me of cat urine. Got home and unpacked my clothes and they stunk.

They gave my room to someone else and made me wait for so long and gave me a smaller size bed although I paid for the king size bed They gave me the queen size one… they're so stupid that they can't even spell or pronounce my name correctly… this was my first time to Chicago and now it'll be my last because of these assholes!

The staff at the hotel are so nice. The food, rooms and services are first class. Really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend without hesitation.

Clean rooms but lacking. Bathroom towels were tiny, no hand towels, and no towel rack. Tv mount is awkward, should tilt so you can view better from the bed. Microwave had broken buttons. Fridge was brand new. Very clean otherwise, just could be better with some minor changes. Everything was clean and tidy. Can be kinda noisy based on room location. Ours was at the bottom of the stairs and we could hear people coming in and out. Also woke to the cleaning staff letting a metal gate slam shut over and over again right outside our window. Very close to multiple bus stops and only 30-40 min from Wrigley and the loop. Felt safe, staff was pretty good — friendly but not anything memorable.

Personally, I am not concerned with the exterior of buildings, however some people may judge a book by it's cover and decide against staying at this Rodeway Inn due to the outside infrastructure. I was very pleasantly surprised upon walking in and seeing the hotel in pristine condition. There were a few things I would have tweaked, but I still would not rate the hotel any less than perfect despite these minor flaws. I was a housekeeper at a 5 star hotel for a long period of time, so perhaps I notice things that others wouldn't. My first suggestion is the speed at check in. I had driven for 5+ hours upon arriving at the hotel, which left me hungry, tired and in need of a restroom. I am used to hotel check ins being a quick in and out process, but found myself standing in the lobby of this hotel for almost 15 minutes. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, but for others the little things might add up. I checked in on Thursday, so Friday morning I decided to use the coffee station that is provided in the room. I took a pack of coffee out of its package and went to put it in the maker to brew only to discover an old coffee filter had been left behind. I had no problem tossing it, but others might. I typically try to leave my housekeeper with as little to do as possible upon checking out. I checked out Saturday morning, but only after collecting my trash, my towels, and my linens.

Really have nothing bad to say. There were NO BUGS, which is MOST important to me. My room was clean. The staff was friendly and took care of all our needs. I was able to check in early with no problems. My bed was so comfortable. Its not fancy by any means but if all you need is a bed and bathroom at a much more affordable rate than anywhere else in Chicago, stay here! They could use updated linens as our comforter had some holes but they were very clean. I will stay again!

It is the ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE customer service that ruins what would otherwise be a pretty good deal for a Chicago hotel in this area. My husband and I travel 35 — 40 weeks per year for work. We gravitate toward economy hotels to keep expenses down. Having said that, our expectations are also realistically low. While I will give this hotel credit for having clean rooms with updated televisions, outlets for device charging and bonus ammenities like a refrigerator and microwave, the people who work here are careless and rude. When we arrived, we found one bath towel for two adults in a double occupancy room. When I went to get additional towels, the rude man at the desk said they only provide one towel per room, even if the room has been booked for two people. He handed me a WASH CLOTH and said that was the best he could offer. I kept after him for about 10 minutes until he opened a WELL STOCKED LINEN CLOSET behind the desk and gave me another towel. Then, on our second day, the housekeeping staff failed to pull the door shut until it clicked so we came back to find our door open. Also, as noted by other people, there are no bars for hanging clothes, no shelves or soap dishes in the shower and no hooks for towels (which I guess you don't need since they don't actually want to provide towels anyway. ) Bottom line, I thought we had found a great deal in Chicago, but it was one of the worst service experiences we'd ever had.

We stayed 2 nights for spring awakening! The staff was super friendly. The rooms were clean. For the price it was perfect! Starbucks down the road, ihop across the street.

Very clean room but very much a low budget property. Be prepared to bring your own hair dryer. Shower had no shelf or soap dish to place items needed for bathing. Two small bath towels and one face cloth only. We stayed for 3 nights so we just purchased our own towels to use. No bath mat either. Queen bed was advertised but we found it very narrow. We have a queen at home and ours is bigger. Not a big deal in the end. Bed was comfortable enough and room suited our needs for this trip to Chicago.

We looked for economy, no problem. Areas of the building look to be freshly renovated during our stay, yet the showers had no soap holders, towels were all hand towels and, as a family with our daughter, we were expecting a larger room. Our had a corner room with a full size bed, no coffee table for additional seating and a very small room. The room refrigerator and small microwave are a plus! Also, counter staff gentleman was friendly.

Slept really well, the bed was very comfortable. Took awhile for water to warm up in the shower and the towels were kind of small, tho. Really liked the overall look of the place. Would stay there again.

Somewhat run down, worn bedding but a fair price and it was fairly clean. The bedspreads need replacing but the sheets were crisp. Free parking plus the room rate made it a proper value for the area.

Location was nice and convenient. The room was clean and organized. There was no microwave or hair dryer when we needed it. The first room we got, the door to the bathroom wouldn't close at all. The towels provided were not large enough to dry with after a shower. The staff did kindly attend to our needs. It was an OK stay. I would stay there again if it's just a place to sleep in.
