Clean and modern, but lacking in charm and character.

We've stayed here several times and enjoy our stay Everytime. Rooms are very clean, spacious, with make up mirror and lights in the bathroom, refrigerator, coffee maker Keurig and so many other lite details that make ours stays great!

Beds were very hard. Room was small for the price I paid.

Called to make a reservation. Was on hold for 10 minutes. Once I got a person on the line, was on hold for another 10 minutes waiting for him to check on the availability of the group rate. The block of rooms was already sold out. So, he suggested staying at the regular rate which was $100 more per night. When I told him I would just reserve a room down the street at the same rate as the group rate, he conveniently disconnected me. Hmmm. Great customer service Hilton!

As a Hilton silver member the staff is rude and no rooms available to check in when reservation was for 11am check in.

I just spent four nights (8/31/thru 9/4/18) and I was not too pleased about my stay. The beds from the double occupancy are too small. They are not queen size. If you and your partner are a little bit overweight and you have somebody else occupying the other bed, having a good night sleep will be a burden. Upon arrival, I brought my concern to the front desk and I was told all the beds are the same. The maid failed to change my pillow cases. On my third day, I had to leave a note asking her to change them. The room was not vacuumed for my entire stay. The day before I checked out, the maid only left 1/2 the roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and she usually left two rolls. I had to leave my room and go to the front desk the next morning to request a roll of toilet paper. It should be noted the front desk staff are professional and courteous. The hotel is near almost everything.

Overall a great experience. Conveniently located a few minutes walk to Northwestern University and near many restaurants. Hotel food is high quality but there is no free breakfast buffet. Comfortable rooms with everything you would need, but if you get a room with double beds, there will not necessarily be enough pillows if there are two people in a bed.

Very clean and updated. Friendly and helpful staff. Nearby lots of restaurants and pubs. Area seems safe and clean and quiet. Would stay again. Wi-Fi sucked like most.

This is a very nice hotel within walking distance of Northwestern University and the El. The design, materials and condition all speak to a nearly new hotel. The service was uniformly very professional and very friendly. The location is quiet for an urban area. I do wish that a simple breakfast came with the room as the buffet is pricey. It is a nice buffet, but I don't need that much to get my day started.

Room was clean and stocked. Breakfast was very good. Hotel was full so they opened up extra seating. Several people working breakfast so everything stayed stocked. Front desk staff was pleasant for the most part.

Good location close the Northwestern. Their complimentary cookies are the best I have ever had at these chain hotels.

The rooms are comfy but you they don't have a safe in the rooms, so if you want to put stuff in a safe you need to do it at the front desk. It's always clean and the service is mostly good (we did have some issues regarding small stuff but again it's mostly good).

My husband and I just stayed at the hotel last weekend and the staff could could not have been better. They were excellent when I checked in and there had been a problem with the reservation which was our fault. Then when we checked out we left a few items. One item was a precious necklace of mine. When I called back a few days later they had found it and was holding it. The housekeeper could have so easily kept it and I would have lost it forever but they did not. I applaud their honesty and integrity. Thank you so much!

Clean hotel. Staff are what make it special. Front desk is accommodating. The food that the chef prepares in the restaurant/bar area is top notch and always fresh.

This is a nice hotel with good amenities. The rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance to a lot of the local shops and restaurants in Evanston which is nice.

I was charged a $50 incidental fee without being told. Only found out a fewimutes later by my wife calling me asking what I spent $50 on. In response to another review regarding that fee, I'm white as snow so don't play that card because it was just trumped… so, anyways… There is a parking structure attached to this hotel but no access to the hotel from it. You have to walk a short distance outside which isn't that bad but there is a parking structure… attached… TO THE HOTEL.

Nice hotel, nice rooms, huge and comfortable bed. Service was super nice, the staff was so friendly, personable and helpful. Will visit again for sure.

Wonderful place. Wonderful service. Excellent pool and hot tub. Excellent restaurant and breakfast buffet.

Be clear: There are things every customer needs to know about this location: 1. They have no parking for their customers. The parking garage is a public parking structure that you are charged $14 per night to park in. (and know that there is no street parking what so ever! So unless your car can float, you will be forced to use the $14 per night public garage that has no access to the hotel). 2. You will have to walk outside to get to the hotel. 3. There is a $50 incidental charge that is put on your card until you leave… I can’t tell if everyone is charged that or only the black lady with kids… When I called to verify my reservation, I was told that I had no reservation. I knew I did, but I needed the front desk to make this transition as easy as possible. They made no effort and I had to ask to be transferred. Once we got to the Evanston location, the attendants didn’t explain anything, not even where the elevators were, much less the gym or pool. I should have done more research before booking. I was put in a room right off the elevator even though I asked for a different room. And I had to buy scrubbing bubbles to clean the bathroom myself. The bathroom smelled like a highschool bathroom… The frustration I am feeling will guarantee that I will never stay at this location again.

Clean, fast, friendly. No complaints. The fitness room is small but has free weights up to 50 lb dumbells, a bench, a treadmill or 2 and an elliptical.

Overall, nice place. The hotel has facilities. Rooms are so clean and the environment is Clean, quiet, and hospitable. Plus, breakfast is fantastic.

In order to get my room in a timely manner before my meeting (I had already been waiting >30 minutes after I had checked in), I had to "upgrade" and pay $50 extra dollars to get a room with two twin beds rather than the one king bed I alone would be sleeping in. This hotel room had been booked by a third-party in advance, so I presume the hotel knew when to expect my arrival. Besides this absurdity, the hotel room was kept clean, and breakfast had a lot of great options.

Used the meeting room only. Easy access, convenient amenities. Friendly staff.

After checking in, my girlfriend decided she wanted to take a nap. After getting in the bed, she noticed it was wet, and a strange smell (a picture of the bed sheet is included in this review). We went to the lobby, and they were very courteous and apologetic and changed our room. However no discounts or free items were provided (such as the dinner or breakfast we ate there) which was disappointing given that we were there for four days. I would not plan on staying there again if I was in the area.

Overall, nice place. Solid facilities. I wish the pool and gym were bigger but they are serviceable. Clean, quiet, and hospitable. Plus, breakfast is great.

Nice clean hotel. Very helpful and friendly front desk and dining room staff. Was very disappointed that cleaning staff completely ignore do not disturb signs and barged into room.

Stay here often for work. Nestled in the nice town of Evanston near Northwestern University. Great restaurants and Cafe's in the area. Friendly staff, decent rooms, decent restaurant, bar and amenities within the hotel. Haven't had any bad experiences yet.

Room was clean, service was friendly, and neighborhood was quaint. Pool was small, as was the exercise facilities. Continental breakfast cost $9, and the extended buffet was $13 food was alright, but I wouldn't recommend it for the cost. Good stay of your looking for something right outside Chicago.

Got a great price from Expedia. Clean, public parking right next door, can leave and come back for same daily charge. Nice large rooms. Good service, very quiet, blackout curtains, breakfast buffet for a charge. Nice location between business and residential.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well furnished. The hotel is next door to a parking garage, so we park the car and walk to local shops and ding as well as onto the Northwestern University campus. It is a great location.

Very helpful staff! Went in asking about meeting rooms. They couldn't meet my exact needs, but were courteous.

The hotel was fantastic. Clean, beautiful, comfortable and convenient to everything. My only complaint would be parking. We had to park in garage and pay 13.00 a day to hotel for parking. I believe that for the price this should be included as they have no other included perks such as breakfast etc. As for the hotel itself I have no complaints even staff was friendly and all smiles. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel on a last minute idea when out weekend lodging plans were altered. The reservation process was very easy via my HH app and we found the room and service to be very good. The location was very good as it's next to some good shopping and tell breakfast in the morning was quite tastey.

I got a free breakfast each day via a coupon from the NUCPS, I was able to eat well, and it's right across the street from the place where my class was located at… awesome!

I stayed in a King guest room. The room was clean, constable, and nicely decorated/furnished. The food from room service is terrific and the breakfast options downstairs were also great.

Fun and professional this hotel has it all except price tags on the in room items. It's ok though still nice.

They were very hospitable and welcome, even though we arrived a four am. The rooms were tidy and satisfactory, and the service great.

My wife and I stayed several nights while our son was in the hospital. We returned for the funeral after he died from cancer. We did not advertise our situation but, when the staff learned of it, their demonstration of kindness and compassion was moving. Nothing will erase the pain but the staff did their best to provide us with a reprieve from our grief. We can't thank them enough.

Average hotel. Internet & parking are free. Good location. Keurig, microwave and refrigerator are in the rooms. Didn't use fitness center.

Room was clean and spacious enough. As always for me, I had to turn off the HVAC because it's too loud and and I had to turn off the mini fridge.

Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Evanston for my son's graduation. After 1st night, complained to management that bed bugs were detected in room and I had outbreaks. Management changed room, and again got more bug bites, and again complained to management. At check out the management deducted 2 nights, but I still had to pay for 3 nights stay. Unfortunately, all hotels in Evanston were booked due to Northwestern U. Graduation, so I was not able to find another hotel. I've written a letter to Hilton Corp. Office and waiting a response. Very disappointed with these results.

We had our wedding reception here last night. From start to finish: booking to the service and until we checked out, Maureen and Mike (along with the rest of the staff) definitely made our experience one of the most beautiful and wonderful experiences of our lives. They were friendly professional and so accommodating! With all of the stresses of planning a wedding (from 2000 miles away), the reception was not one of them! Thank you for the extra attention and going above and beyond!

My wife and I stayed here while she was interviewing for a job. The company she was interviewing with booked the hotel. Our reservation said we reserved a king bed but they gave us double. When we complained and showed our reservation, they said they were completely booked and there was nothing they could do. When we got to the room, we found someone else's laundry on the floor and the TV didn't work. When I picked up the room phone to complain, it didn't work. I went back to the front desk to complain. When I told the woman at the front desk what happened, she upgraded us to to a room with a king bed, which they told us before wasn't available. They also gave us a free breakfast. The woman at the front desk was apologetic, but we were upset about being lied to and since they couldn't comp our room there wasn't anything else they could do. We were very disappointed.

I was going to stay at the Hilton garden Inn but Jeremiah was so rude over the phone that I decided not to stay there. Horrible experience.

Decent hotel for those on a budget but with some customer service issues. I will preface this by saying that this won't happen to you if you don't live in an area prone to snowstorms, so beware of response bias. Basically, Hilton Garden Inn was adamant about not giving refunds after a winter storm cancelled our flights. This was a big deal to us because our reservation was for about $900. Fortunately, after several phone calls we were able to reach a decent agreement, in which one of the terms was a 1/3 refund. I ended up bumping this review up to three stars because I was moderately satisfied with the resolution.

Good bet for Evanston and great staff.

Clean and relatively quiet, although the doors could be a little thicker. Very close to the red line train stop, but you never hear it. A big hot button item for me is the heating and cooling system, and it is controlled by thermostat, which is good, but it is a wall unit, and is noisy. The fitness facilities are not very good, but rarely are at most hotels. Two treadmills and a very small assortment of dumbbells is about all there is. Otherwise I thought this hotel was very good in every aspect, and would probably stay again.

I wanted to say THANK YOU so much for the lovely room and the perfect weekend! Everything was perfect and once again, I fell in love with Evanston! What an incredible town and I think we walked about 10 miles Saturday morning! The hotel is in the perfect location and so close to the university! It's nice to park the car and not worry about driving while staying in Evanston. Thanks again.

Just returned from a 4 night/3 day trip to Chicago with my family. We decided to stay in Evanston for the better hotel rate and proximity to the North Shore. Couldn't be happier with that decision. The hotel was great — very nice accommodations and amenities, great location just a few blocks from Northwestern, the lake, and downtown Evanston. The service was fantastic — all the staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous. If we visit Chicago again we will stay here unless we want to pay the outrageous premium to stay downtown.
