Great stay we visited family in Cloverport not much there and drive was easy to go back and forth will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here one night, room was fine but got charged twice. The desk people acted like they didn't know what was going on, blamed the new girl and said there was nothing they could do, said they didn't want to call the manager. Ridiculous.

We stayed for two nights to go to holiday world. We purchased a two queen sized room online, got here for our first night and we had been "upgraded" to a King size and a pull out couch. The couch was not as uncomfortable as I would have thought, but we were still a little frustrated that we hadn't been given any notice or heads up before this change was made. Fortunately a 2 queen room did become available for our second night and the beds are extremely comfy.

Clean and good service. Prices okay. No closet to hang my cloths but was iron board. Soft beds and good temperature. No vending machine on third floor.

Was there for a two day excursion with the family. Had 2 young children with me. Put us on third floor. No big deal, until we get a phone call at 930 that our kids are being noisy. Why would you put 2 small kids on the third floor under people who had to get up early? Wouldn't have bothered me as much except that we were clearly there to goto the amusement park. The link for the hotel was on the parks website. Better planning please! I'm sure my downstairs neighbor felt the same way.

Beds were comfyill give them that. But other than that! when I got to the hotel and tried to check in, front desk WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I waited 30 minutes to just get checked in! I had to call FROM MY OWN CELL PHONE TO GET SOMEONE TO COME UP AND NOTICE ME. Turns out she was sitting OUTSIDE ON HER PHONE THE WHOLE TIME SMOKING A CIGARETTE! Then, got into my room, my lamp was broken, so I tried to call front desk, AND THE PHONE WAS BROKE, as well as my remote! Went to shower, closed my shower curtain, and noticed a USED wash cloth from the person BEFORE me that was staying in the room! And the shower curtain had black stains all on it!

From the moment we checked in, everyone has been courteous and extremely helpful. We had some difficulty with our first room and were kindly moved, without question, by the lovely young woman at the front desk to a room more suitable to our needs. When we ran into some trouble with our vehicle at the local amusement park, (and since the hotel is located in a smaller town without a large cab service), the front desk was able to arrange a ride for us to get back there the next morning. We have stayed many many places in the United States and beyond, and have very rarely received this level of consistent courtesy across the board, from housekeeping, to front desk staff, even from some of the swankier hotels in much larger cities. I would certainly stay here again, and wish more hotels had the kind helpfulness I found at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Tell City Indiana. Thanks to you all for helping to save our little family vacation from disaster!

Breakfast was good, not great. Quiet place.

We stayed here during our trip to Holiday World which is about 20 minutes or so away. The rooms were clean with comfy beds. The breakfast was good. The pool area was a little stuffy but overall ok. When I booked the room, I held it with one credit card but planned to pay with another which apparently you cannot do. The girl working the desk was not helpful at all about the situation and basically said there was nothing she could do. She didnt even ask a mgr. When I did see the mgr, she fixed the problem. Also, if you make requests they will likely be ignored. I asked for a room on the ground floor, close to the pool and received a room on the top floor at the very end of the hall. If given the opportunity, I would probably stay here again. The rates were affordable and they do price match.

It's a huge place too much walking for me and long waits in lines only thing I liked was the free drinks but if u go u have got to ride The Mamoth water slide it's the best ride in the water park and definitely worth the wait in line.

The indoor pool could be better maintained. The water was a bit cloudy. The rooms were nice and comfy and great complimentary Hot breakfast.

To be upfront, part of this review is due to some construction work going on at the hotel. That being said, the new lobby and breakfast area was very nice and clean. Good breakfast with pancakes, pre-made omelettes and biscuits and gravy, and all of the other usual continental fare. The room just seemed a bit … dirty? Not sure that's right l, it appeared clean enough, but there was a lot of dust floating in the air, plus all 4 of us in the room felt stuffed up. There was also a slight odor that smelled moldy, but that could be related to the construction.

Checked in and found bed bug stains in two rooms, went to check the third room and found a live bed bug. Manager was with me. She and I both took pictures.

Great personnel, clean rooms, happy to assist, good breakfast.

Friendly front desk staff, unfortunately we did not end up staying because a pipe burst above the pool and the pool area was unusable. Hope to stay again though.

Holiday Inn Express is the only place in would stay when visiting family in Tell City. The hotel is decent and offers hot breakfast. Staff is friendly & helpful.

Clean comfortable and convenient. Difficult to maintain a comfortable temp in the room but the best place to stay in the area!

This hotel chain is very consistent with their service. I have stayed at a few of these hotels and have always been very satisfied with my stay.

Fitness center is tiny. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Wi-Fi wasn't working for my stay.

Very very disappointed. Dirty, dingy, stinky. And they asked for our cash up front. We had them switch out our first room because it was so disgusting. Second room was better but will never stay at a holiday inn again.

Beds were incredibly comforttable! Only bad thing was that there was no hot tub. I could have really ysed a hottub.

It is a nice clean hotel with free breakfast. Wi-Fi could be better. There are some great restaurants near by as well.

I don't know, there is something to be said for having power. There is something to be said about a manager present after 6 hrs without power. Great place to stay if neither of these are on your wish list.

House keeping was super friendly breakfast was good really no complaints.

Friendly staff clean room the only negative I can say is the breakfast needs some improvement.

No hot water both mornings for shower. Luke at best. Pool inoperable but look fine with pumping motion in water. I cunt on their pool. For water workout every day. Website did not indicate this. Did other eat them breakfast but looked and smelled good. Coffee okay. They tap water is not pleasing in their area. Bath Fawcett leaked. Room was very cleans and nice. They common area very nice and then tiles are spectacular shiny. Over all a nice stay. If they are going to have a board to welcome members they over looked mine both days. I'm not that important anyway. Just shows attention to detail.

The hotel was easy to find the rooms are well Organisadas I excellent service.

Comfortable, clean, nice rooms and a decent breakfast. I find the staff a bit socially awkward and come off as unfriendly. I just think it's the area that is that way, There is a stench usually in the air outside cFood in the area is not great. It a nice hotel to stay in for the area.

Heat would not turn off — room was over 80 F with the window open and outside was below freezing. TV only got a few channels — no major networks. And the staff could not care less. Room was not clean — stains on the sofa and floors. There are better choices in the area.

Clean rooms, friendly service, in room humidifier was noisy, breakfast was just OK.

Good clean hotel rooms run run about 115$/130$ a night not a bad place and good staff.

I don't even want to give 1 star. This has been the worst experience with a hotel. I keep getting the run around with no resolutions. Bed bug bites all over my body from this stay. Ended up carrying bugs home. After arriving home new bites appeared. The next night my 7 year old daughter woke up with bites on her back. Whoever would have thought a one night stay would be such a disaster. I am a rewards member and I've stayed in other hotels with no issues. I have been losing sleep trying to keep the issue contained. I have been literally sick over this. I thought a hotel stay before our Holiday World trip would be fun but it's been hell since. Spending money to buy medication and prevention chemicals to treat my home. Noone wants to help they just want to bounce you around like a ping pong ball. I will not stand for this treatment. Be aware.

I am giving this 3 stars because of the front desk staff being very nice and the breakfast tasting pretty good. I left off 2 stars due to how easily I could hear people upstairs walking around and for staff other than the front desk not being very professional. If you were to go outside to your vehicle, the staff would be on break sitting in a chair smoking. The breakfast staff did not seem to realize they needed to step aside while guest got their food. There were also no fan in the bathroom which would cause the room to fog up quite a bit if someone showered.

The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean. I love the in — room Keurig and the 24 hour coffee in the breakfast area. I would stay here again.

We were in town for a couple of days to visit Holiday World, and we were very impressed with this hotel. It was clean and well kept inside and out. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating, the continental breakfast was quite substantial! Pool area was clean and well taken care of. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we come back to Holiday World next year! Thanks for a great stay!

The two ladies running the front desk were some of the nicest people I have ever dealt with at a hotel. They didn't question it when I asked for more shampoo and conditioner than what was in the room (silly me left it at home). The beds are super soft, and the room I stayed in was very clean. I'd stay here again!

Rooms where clean and the breakfast was amazing. Pool was very clean. The staff at first was a little rough.

Room was very nice, entire hotel appeared to be very clean, arrived late and the lady working the front desk was actually at the front desk which was super nice (i hate coming in late then waiting for someone in back to wake up to come check me in). Breakfast was a little bit of a let down as they had biscuits and sausage, but no gravy. Overall though price was incredibly reasonable and stay was very pleasant.

We stayed here for Holiday World and Splash safari. It was a pretty good stay with a good breakfast and nice staff. The only thing was the beds were rock hard, but probably the best that you are going to find for the money and location.

This Holiday Inn in Tell City has never been great but it has gone significantly downhill. The room smelled strongly of mildew so bad we couldn’t sleep. We looked at a few other rooms that smelled just as bad but we finally found one we could tolerate. The beds are old and broken down. The staff is nice enough but the manager is gruff and rude. It is grossly over-priced. They should charge about $58 instead of $115+. This hotel might be the best of three dumpy hotels in town which is why they are often full and can charge these ridicules rates. Someone should come in and build a new hotel because they would easily take away all business from these dumps.

Stayed at the hotel during my last trip. The hotel rooms were nice and clean, the staff was polite and efficient. Best hotel in town. I would stay here again. I believe there has been a change in management since the previous reviews.

Stayed July 27, 28. Under renovation and rooms should not be rented. Dusty and dirty. No baseboards. Very strong odor in room. Breathing problems. Complained next day but nothing was done. Guess what,,,, they don't care. I no longer stay at a HIE and will always call before I make reservations at any hotel to make sure they are not under renovation. Pool water was disgusting but still open to guest. Did somebody else buy HIE? It would seem so.

We stayed at this hotel using our Priority Club points to stay for free after a day at Holiday World. We had planned a 2 night stay but cancelled our second night and drove home rather than spend one more night in this hotel. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations but the only issue we had related to that was the absence of base boards in our room which left exposed nails in the wall. The bathroom, especially the shower was NASTY dirty. The room was tiny, and when we asked for an upgrade we were told there was nothing else available but they gave the man checking in after us — who had no reservation — a 2 room suite. But the BIGGEST issue we had was that the pool was as green as a pond, and so cloudy you could not see through the water to see the bottom of the pool or even someone's feet/legs who was in the water! When we complained the front desk told us that was from having a lot of swimmers which is simply untrue. When we called to complain after arriving home the hotel manager told us that the pool floor is green and that's all that made it look off-color. When we called to request more towels the desk clerk said "well you'll have to come get them yourself" when we cancelled our reservation and left early they didn't even ask why we were leaving and best yet they charged our priority points for both night's stay anyway. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy and would rather camp in a tent than stay in this location again.
