Walking distance to the beach. On Ocean Avenue where all the nice boutiques, international restaurants, different french bakeries and gourmet coffee houses are located. Because of COVID — 19 we missed their great complimentary breakfast buffets.

The best and most beautiful hotel in Carmel, thank you you so much.

Serendipity brought us to the lovely Pine Inn! We are winging our way across the country and finding rooms as we go… very pleased with this unique, historical inn!

I have stayed at this inn and I think it is not a particularly hospitable or welcoming place. Stuffy, uptight, blah…

Had dinner at Il Fornaio. Excellent ambiance, food and service.

Such a lovely Hotel great accommodations the breakfast bar and buffet was phenomenal I suggest anybody that goes to Carmel try this place great for business events also a plus. Bathrooms parking is very convenient and the hospitality is awesome.

Small hotel very well located in the center of Carmel. Room a little small but smug for one night. The bed was not very large, does not correspond to a Queen bed (140), it was rather a 130.

We didn't stay at the inn, but the restaurant was awesome. Our waiter, Francisco I believe, was above and beyond quality service and the food was also great. Not everyone at the table loved their food, hence the four stars.

We're pretty much regulars at Il Fornaio in the Pine Inn. Its a landmark property in Carmel. Before the current occupant they were famous for the ur Friday night buffet. It's a great hotel and restaurant for celebrity sightings as well.

Small room，small parking lot，small everything. This is the worst hotel that I have ever been to. Cost me almost $250 per night. Nothing but a nightmare.

Wonderful historic 100 year old Inn with Il Fornaio restaurant below rooms. Great location near everything including the beach. This is the 3rd or 4th time we stayed and will come again.

Been staying here for a few years now and it is cozy, simple and the room service was excellent.

We only came here for dinner. This is our go to place in Carmel. Reasonably priced and great food. Service was awesome despite being busy. Food was solid as usual. Definitely recommend this place considering the combination of price, ambience, and taste.

Charming inn with Il Fornaio restaurant.

Historically, one of Carmel's most outstanding hotels. Has been a Honeymoon destination for over 50 years. Unique and delightful.

Lovely little inn, parking was hard to find but achievable, 'll fornio was wonderful.

The only nice part of the hotel is the location. Situated within 10-minute walk of Galante Vineyards and Carmel Beach. The hotel itself need some improvements. Bathroom, flooring, bottom of the tub, and sink area. And shutter in the room were cracked and old. There are many stairs till you reach your room. Lot of stairs and NO elevator. We had 4 big suitcases. When we saw these stairs, we asked the reception if there any easy way to get our suitcases up to the room without using these stairs. Her answer was "no! Only way to the room is by these stairs. You can request a porter to help you! " Later on I found out myself, There is a side walk up to the reception instead of using the stairs from the main entrance. In the room. No safety box, no shower cap, no hair conditioning, no skin lotion, no cotton balls. No hair dryer. But they do offer 2 bottles of water! Don't understand why I read many had said the breakfast was good? Coffe was undrinkable. I ask if they have chocolate milk instead. Replied was yes, go to the other side of the room and pay for it. Scramble eggs were all cold. Pastry were all cut up in small pieces. Breakfast suppose to close at 10am. At 9h30 the waiter cleaned up all the coffe, tea, and juice. By 9h40 the rest of the food started to be removed. On the breakfast coupon said "Gratuity is not included in your breakfast". Service is supposed to be provided by the hotel. How can anyone expect Gratuity when their duties were not even accomplished.

Lunch at Il Fornaio was a great treat.

Quaint old hotel. Great location.

The hotel is gorgeous 18th centruy style decor, mostly red and mahogany colors. The restaurant is old world fancy Italian and abosluelty delicious! I have yet to stay in a room, but definitely want to!

A long time favorite. Got engaged here at the restaurant before it became Il Fornaio and been here for Sunday brunch, for business lunches, special events and countless dinners for over 40 years.

The food was good the ambiance was amazing. The service was ok, but we had a large party and it's hard to cook for a lot people.

Is a nice place with big rooms, but room number three, where we stayed, was terrible. It was seven feet from the door of the restaurant, outside of which folks smoked each night, marinating or kids in second hand stink. The wedding dj's speakers pointed directly toward our door the second night. The pillows smelled as if they were briefly buried in wet sand.

Visited the Pine Inn for a small, intimate wedding with dinner and drinks after. Nice view of the ocean and the service was very attentive. Enjoyed the whole evening.

Great staff. Beautiful vintage building. Great dining at Il Forniao. Ground floor rooms are the best.

Great historic hotel and convenient location for walking this beautiful city. Our experience wasn't perfect however the GM, john Lloyd, was very gracious and acted immediately to make us feel satisfied with his response to our service let down issue. My wife and I would gladly stay again when/if we travel to this area again. Tom O'Leary.

Very noisy hotel, difficult hike to the third floor on such narrow stairs, and a very rude woman working the front desk.

Great hotel, amazing coffee, baked goods and delicious dining!

Nothing special but great location.

Attractive lobby. Nice rooms but nothing extraordinary. Biggest plus is that hotel fronts on Ocean Ave. Shops are on your doorstep.

This is in the bottom 25% of hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is great, but that's about it. The rooms are tiny, old and not as clean as they could be. Noise can be a bit of a problem; I was awakened by people in the hallway and by noises in the next room. I had to find street parking each night as the lot was always full. And although breakfast is included on weekdays, which is cool, it's not included on weekends which really doesn't make any sense as weekend rates are more expensive. Also, there is a sign at the front desk indicating the hotel is made of un-reinforced masonry, and will be unsafe in the event of an earthquake. Definitely would not choose to stay in this over-priced, small, unclean and unsafe hotel again.

Nice hotel, good facilities and nice breakfast! Nearby beach and on the main street! Overall very good.

Perfect location for shopping and dining, one block from the Weston Gallery and adjacent to Il Fornaio.
