I stayed here overnight because my puppy needed surgery. Everyone was kind and helpful. They had a smile on their face and were so nice. The surgery was later than expected and they gave me late checkout. Everyone wished Gidget a successful outcome. Great stay!

I recently had my wedding at the holiday inn. It was amazing the staff went above and beyond for me and my husband. Eddie was the one coordinating with us and did everything she could to make my day the best ever. Highly recommend to anyone having a wedding!

The hotel and room are both beautiful. The only thing I didn’t like was how bright it got in the morning. Why are the second set of curtains not able to close? We arrived late (2am) with a one year old! Needless to say as soon as the sun came up so did our toddler.

Did not honor reservation of 2 adjoining rooms made several months ago by phone. Family was split up and rooms were nowhere near each other. Staff on duty did not assist us and didn't seem to care about THEIR error.

My wife and I recently had our wedding here at the Holiday Inn. Wonderful experience in every regard! The facility itself is beautiful inside. Mark Cihlar is a miracle worker and made sure our vision/special day went off without a hitch. Edie is personable, responsive and wonderfully pleasant. I cannot possibly recommend the Holiday Inn enough for any event, you will not be disappointed!

Great hotel clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was great too! Kids under 12 get free breakfast.

I loved it. Very beautiful. The only reason I didn't submit 5 stars is because of the breakfast staff. They ignored me several times. I had to take my bill to the front desk, so they could call one of them over. I also noticed they were ignoring another black family. But the front desk personnel was spectacular. Thank you.

I love this place! While my husband works I take the train into Chicago. It's close to the Elgin train station and far enough from the city to relax. Friendly staff. Very clean. Plenty of parking. Bennigans restaurant attached for dining.

Great beds! So comfortable! Super clean! Had some crazy guy on my floor going back and forth and screaming in Spanish at me from across the hallway as I'm walking. I expected better on the food if you're going to charge for it. Stuffed pancakes was the best and it wasn't that great but flavorful. Eggs, no. The serving staff don't care about anything but tips. If she wasn't such a b**ch, I would leave $10 for doing nothing because I work in this industry but damn… Don't understand why they took the coffee machine was taken away one day out of three that I was there. Paid for breakfast for the weekend but only ate one day. Great pool, never got in since so many kids all weekend plus a wedding plus a hockey tournament. I'd come back again. Good restaurant downstairs.

My first expression was this place is packed, the trash cans are over flowing and they need to hire someone to do something with all the weeds. The Inside was clean and nice pool area. The hot tub jets are very powerful Room was clean, and smelled good. The toilet ran all night, and the bathroom ceiling was a little wore down. I was down all the way by 200. And took the stairs thinking I could get to the lobby, nope it takes you to the side of the building. The breakfast was an additional 14$. So I passed. But I did get a look. They had bacon eggs, and a few other options, they look fresh. Check out was a breeze. Paying 131$ I thought breakfast would be included, I was wrong.

Have stayed there many times & they've never failed to impress. Overall the hotel is very clean. The pool & fitness room are pleasant. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Just a couple of suggestions, mattresses should be firmer & maybe teach waitresses not to reach over your food when placing items on your table.

The staff… OMG! So sweet and courteous; thanks for everything! So sad that the breakfast costs $12 when Denny's is 5 minutes up the street with a $2-$4-$6-$8 deal. I was glad to be able to dine at Bennigan's here at the hotel though since the one in Huntsville, AL closed years ago. Great stay with our family and wedding party but we're definitely a Hilton Honor's Family.

Was very happy with my room. We where out for a basketball tournament and the room was very clean and peaceful evening know there where kids running around the floors.

This is a great hotel. The staff is excellent and rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very SPARKLING! clean and modern inside. I was really impressed.

I've been on the third floor with the window towards the roof with the air-conditioning units. I could hear them all the time when in my room. Else the stay was fine.

Room was great. Comfy bed. Staff was great to work with and talk to. I don't like when the breakfast in the morning isn't free though.

We stayed Easter weekend at this Holiday Inn and had a marvelous time. Our room was comfortable and the mattress was wonderful to sleep on. The gentleman that greeted us upon arrival was very pleasant and his attitude was very inviting. Our breakfast waitress, Vahola (? ) was extremely friendly and provided very good service. Our bartenders, Keith and Julius, were very accommodating. The one thing I would liked to see provided is to have coffee available at all times. For that reason I give this motel a 4 rating.

I'll just get right to it. My room had bed bugs. I woke up at 4am with burning feet and legs. I called the front desk, and a lady came up with a garbage bag for my effected items and moved me to a new room. I asked the hotel in the morning if they would somehow make it right, in response of which they said they would issue me a refund. However, months later I have not heard anything from Holiday Inn, nor have I been issued a refund. I ended up throwing away my suitcase and all its contents except for the clothes I had to wear the next day. I at least think I should have received my money back, it would have been nice of Holiday Inn to kick in something to replace my lost items. I know the hotel did not purposely put bugs in my room, I don't blame Holiday Inn for that. However, I do hold it against Holiday Inn that they did nothing to remedy the situation, and in fact lied to me about a refund. If you have never experienced bed bugs you won't understand the absolute misery they bring. I did not sleep a lick that night after I was moved. I was constantly checking under the covers for bugs and feeling phantom bites. Even after I returned home I was checking for bugs under my mattress and sheets for weeks. Even now sometimes I am hit with the feeling of bites when I lay down at night. It's terrible. I was very disappointed with my stay, but more so by the lack of response by Holiday Inn afterwards. I think from now on I will be uneasy anytime I have to stay in a hotel.

The hotel was nice but the employees were noisy (always knocking on our door for random quesrions or to offer random services… and rude at times! When asking questions about a future visit the employee made me feel like I was bothering her. The pool was awesome for the kids but the pool room smelled like weed! Most definitely will not recommend this hotel to family and family when they come do visit!

The rooms were actually a good size. The one I stayed in had a separate sitting room. The room was clean. The closet was pretty small and there were no robes to use, but otherwise I guess I can't complain. We also ate at the restaurant and that was a positive experience. Service was good, food was good, atmosphere was good, etc. Also ordered room service for breakfast. It was good and not as pricey as other hotels.

We've stayed all over and the holiday inn pillows and beds are great. The ac was noisy, the lighted makeup mirror was dirty and burned out but we didn't need it. Couch is too small, low, and uncomfortable to use. Wallpaper was all jacked up. Big gap under door to hallway. No housekeeping staff in the evening so no luck getting any extra pillows. Breakfast items were all either old and dried up or under cooked. Breakfast staff acted like I was a hobo begging for scraps until I went back for my stupid buffet vouchers then she was all apologetic. All I wanted was a coffee and maybe a muffin because we were going out for breakfast but since she made me go retrieve the vouchers I ate everything I could fit in my stomach.

I have one word to describe this hotel… EXCELLENCE! My wedding/reception ceremony was here about 3 weeks ago. Everything was perfect. The food, rooms, prices, customers service and the whole experience was superb. I want to give a special thanks to my wedding coordinator (Morgan) and staff.

I like that it has combining with Jacuzzi is why I visit.

We were there for a wedding. The staff were all great. The rooms were nice and clean. I am a housekeeper in a hospital, so I look for cleanliness. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Very clean and calm once you enter the doors. The bar is easily accessible and friendly bar tenders. Who make you feel like you are a regular. The front desk staff are quick to reslove and issues you may have and very knowledgeable of the area. Any time you pass an employee they are very nice and friendly. Very family orientated place to bring the family. Very relaxing. Must stay here if you are visiting in the area.

Update 12/6/17: staff was very friendly and helpful. My first room was nice until the heater fan decided to go out in smoke. Luckily it happened while I was out for dinner. Wow did it smell bad when I got back. Black chunks all over the heater… lol I'm in a second room now watching Bob's burgers about to pass out. Obviously not their fault at they had no way of knowing that would happen. Much better visit than last time even with the issues. Bed is nicer as are pillows. Old review: Nothing to write home about. Bed was old and was sagging on both sides where two people would usually lay. Pillows were very lumpy and uncomfortable. On my first night the put me in a room that was already occupied… That was awkward…

The staff here is always great. I've walked into a long line to check in and the staff always seems to clear it quickly. I think the longest I've ever waited is five minutes. Rooms are always neat and clean and toiletries are restocked daily. Would highly recommend.

Was there for a wedding. The hotel has plenty of parking outside. Inside, the area was sectioned off for the wedding with white cloth, it looked good. The food was good, and the management was all over making sure the event went well.

Worst experience ever! The hotel itself is nice enough, nothing over the top, but nice. The staff, however, are the rudest people I've ever met! For people in the hospitality business, they made a few mistakes with billing, and other details, which is understandable. However, their attitude and arrogance was inexcusable. I'm not one to think if someone messes up their should be fired at all, but no one, including management would even apologize, let alone claim responsibility or try to correct any wrong doings. I literally had the owner of my Company who reserved the room for me for a conference all week call and ask what he could do to help! Maybe I just gave off a bad vibe, or had the crew who was about to quit, but I would rather sleep in my car than give that establishment any of my money. No the picture of the rat was not on their grounds. I wish it was though.

This is a great hotel that is conveniently located. The restaurant attached is okay but there are better options within walking distance. My room was clean and updated. I would stay here again.

When I booked my room I booked a junior queen suite and what I got was two queen room the room is alot smaller than the one I thought I had booked. The fridge in the room was all sticky and I believe we had dirty sheets on our beds. I don't normally do reviews but I was pretty upset. I'm not sure if I got a different room cause there is other things going on here tonight but still you book a room expecting to get that room and get something different and still charged that room price it's disappointing. I'm sorry but I don't believe I will come back.

I attended a beautiful wedding here. Everything was wonderful, one of the best I've been to. The staff was personable, attentive, and friendly, and took great care of my dear friends who were married. From our prep in the bridal suite to the last dance of the evening, the day was flawless.

The beds were wonderful! The rooms are spacious, but each with independent temperature control through an ac/heater. If you stay there, you get a free breakfast in the morning, and it's actually not bad, with a selection of eggs, bacon, dumplings, muffins, cinnamon rolls, bread, and cereals. There's also a Bennigan's built into the hotel for lunch. The staff is polite, other than one of the cleaning staff.

The room was very nice and clean. Very spacious. Also loved the size and amenities of the bathroom. Really large clean tub, perfect for a long soak at the end of a long day. The breakfast here is ok so far, but nothing too amazing. That would be the thing that kept me from a 5 star rating. But the people are very nice and helpful. Even went out if the way to move my room closer to the elevator when they saw I was on crutches. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a surprisingly nice Holiday Inn. It was recently renovated so the carpet and rooms are in great shape. Also, the pool area is pretty fun for the little ones. Parking is ample and the breakfast buffet is a pretty good value. It definitely feels more upscale than your typical Holiday Inn and I'd be happy to come back here again.

This is a newer Holiday Inn. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and everything was bright and clean. The breakfast buffet was tasty as well. I'd definitely stay here again.

I have to say that I have avoided Holiday Inns because of the reputation that they have always carried in my mind but this was wonderful. The room was luxurious, the bed just envelops you in comfort and softness and the bathroom had everything. I would definitely stay here again!

The air was not working and to much noise.

We had a meeting in one of the ballrooms of this hotels conference center and it was the best by far. The staff were truly caring from the initial point of contact when we had called to find out what time our companies event had been changed to the service in the on site Bennigan's Restaurant. The team at this hotel Conference Center was well trained in guest service thank you for your hospitality.

Very pleased with this hotel. Great Saturday morning breakfast buffet ($9.95 per adult). We compared it to upscale continental breakfast. Service was great at breakfast. We had lunch in Bennigans and had good service. Food was good and the prices were fair. Our room was on the seventh floor. Quiet and clean. Premium TV channels and fast Wi-Fi. Overall, 5 stars. We are glad we stayed here. When in the area, we'll be back to stay.

Stayed here on a short business trip and everything was fantastic. The room was clean and tidy, bed was super comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot. Their breakfast options were great as well. Very impressed and hope to stay there again.

Was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel is. The extra living room area was a great addition and made us feel less claustrophobic. Clean, big bathroom. Very happy with our stay.

Friendly professional staff, especially Bertha at the front desk. Staff was attentive to replacing a loud in room refrigerator. Lost a star because of two issues (and a third nitpicking one) : the room had pathetic water pressure, as in hard to wash the soap off. Second, the banquet area setup for beverages and horderves was very inconvenient and poorly replenished. Last, the in room iron was in bad shape.

Loved this hotel! The people who work there are so friendly and very accommodating. The bed in my room was literally the most comfortable bed I've ever sleep in. The pool and hot tub are very nice and the breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious! Very impressed with the breakfast. Hands down the best hotel in the Elgin area.

As the Star of Best in Bridal we have producers, directors and other TV personalities constantly coming into the area… where do I have them stay? The Holiday Inn & Suites in Elgin! As the only full-service Hotel in the area I always know that my guests will be taken care of!

Booked two rooms in Elgin. One room smelled like something died. Way too much chlorine in the pool. Burned my eyes, didn't even swim.

I've stayed at this location twice. Always super clean and great staff. Has a Bennigans attached to it which is convenient for food and drinks. Plenty of parking too!

It was a newer building so the room was modern. That's the only positive I can give on this place. No local TV channels and no complimentary breakfast… over $10 for a breakfast you get for free at Quality or Comfort Inn. Will not go back.

Visited Elgin for an interview and made the horrible mistake of staying at this hotel. Picked this one because of affordability and its advertised hot tub. Well, hot tub was broken, hotel was infested with loud and rowdy drunks, room temp was 51 degrees, and heater kicked on every two minutes sounding like a jet engine starting up and then crashing. Got about two hours of sleep and was definitely not in best shape for a job interview.

I always book a room here for my parents when they come into town! They have the best rates for weekends or even for a whole week. And my parents say they always receive excellent customer service as well, which I'm glad to hear.

I have several weeks of experience at this hotel and my initial impression was that it was fantastic. It's clean, the beds are feather soft and it's quiet. But, over the course of my stay here, my positive impression has become soured. The hotel's wireless internet is ridiculously inconsistent. Sometimes it works as it should. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Most of the time it's slow. Oh, the staff is more than willing to arrange for a new room for you. You just have to repack all of your stuff and move to another room, hoping it's a Wi-Fi "hot spot. " The air conditioning/fan units vary greatly in quality from room to room. Some have amazing AC with strong fan motors. Some don't work at all. That's bad news in the summertime. The elevators have been offline on and off for more than a week after being disabled by a thunderstorm. Yep, more than a week and the problem isn't fixed. Currently, this is an 8 story hotel with exactly one maintenance elevator for potentially hundreds of guests. And tonight, that very maintenance elevator broke down with me in it. It simply stopped moving. After using the emergency line, a hotel maintenance guy, who looked overworked as it was, had to pry me out of it midway between two floors as if I was a sardine in a roll back container. I'll never stay here again, and I don't recommend you do either.

Place is a bomb shelter when it comes to cell service, but they have free Wi-Fi.

As relatively inexpensive hotels go this one was nice and clean, decently priced, and conveniently located. I'm sure you could find fancier places, but this one does well on all the hotel basics, and that's all I personally need. Ill be looking for Holiday Inns next time I'm traveling.
