Is it the Hyatt? No. Did we over pay? No. The room we had was meh, but it was a place to sleep and, well, you know It's a quaint little place that is very convenient to the beach. We enjoyed the staff and service. If you get a good price here I would recommend it. Parking is ample, of the 8 spots in the back of the House are full, there is plenty of parking 2 blocks south at the comfort inn lot which you will get a hang tag for.

Not the worst place I've ever stayed. No personality with staff, but nice enough. Clean. Not even a coffee pot in the room. Small TV with a remote that didn't work, but that wasn't terrible either.

For Ocean City it was reasonably priced but the bathroom and shower were incredibly small, no housekeeping came, and the bed was stiff. Clean room, easy check-in, and not a bad place but if this was located anywhere else I'd say it's overpriced for what you get.

Super clean. Affordable. Great staff. Easy to book. And across from the board walk, and near all the food spots. 24 hour pizzeria right around the corner. Great porch to sit on! It's really comfy here.

Very clean and the staff was extra friendly. Great location but couldn't get the TV to work and there were no convenient outlets for a laptop to be used. The room was much smaller than any I had seen in photos online. Having to park 2 blocks away was inconvenient and not mentioned in anything I saw online. I understand that it's an old hotel but I have paid less for better this same week in Ocean City.

The service here was great. Friendly staff that are willing to work to accommodate to help better serve your needs. Rooms are clean and open. I loved this quaint hotel that is right off the boardwalk!

Perfect so far as location. One block off the boardwalk and priced reasonably for the season, on the third row. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping is good. It's safe to leave things in your room. Cooled by window unit. Water pressure is fair (not their fault). They only provide soap. They do not even sell shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, or toothpaste at the front desk. The coke machine vends Soda that feels like it was sitting outside the Alamo in July. Overall, as a place to sleep, it is better than passable.

Very cute bed and breakfast feel hotel (without the breakfast). Staff was very nice and friendly with great conversation. Our room was at the very top facing the bay direction. You don't get a view due to all the surrounding buildings but you are a two minute walk to the boardwalk which was great! Our room was adorable. Very comfortable bed, although it was very noisy. Has a mini fridge and TV (you have to pay a fee to use tv) Bathroom was very clean and well put together, although the shower was small, it was all we needed for a one night stay. Free parking is in the back and extra parking is two blocks away. Sometimes the back lot fills up so you have to park in the extra parking but it's free parking. Regular parking is $2.00/ hour. I'm happy with walking two blocks. We will definitely be coming back next vacation! Overall great experience!

Near the beach but extremely outdated. Shower was discussing and sheets are staoned everywhere.

This place is terrible. Ant infested, terrible plumbing, aluminum insulated stove, power went out about 18 times and we had to flip the breaker. Its just bad.

Wow, I wish I actually believed the reviews on here and did not see it for myself. I seriously will not be able to explain all the bad so I will just hit on a few things. I was told off street parking was available. I did not know it was 3 blocks away. When we walked into the place it didn't feel like a hotel. I felt like I was renting a bedroom off of uncle Bob. The room itself was literally a bedroom. Like 10x10, a bed, a tiny TV mounted in a way you couldn't even see it from the bed, and I couldn't even get anything other than infomercials and religious channels. The bathroom must have been made for a hobbit, it was so small. The sink was falling off the wall. Shortly after arriving my wife had a legit panic attack. Never had she ever had one before. It was freaking weird. She literally had to lie down a meditate til she slept it off, leaving me to go check out the beach by myself. Then I realized there was no toilet paper. I went out to the desk, there was no one around. I called a phone number displayed at the desk and a man told me a lady would be around shortly. I waited about 45 minutes for toilet paper so I could take a dump. WHO WANTS TO SPEND 45 MINUTES OF THEIR VACATION WAITING ON TOILET PAPER? I should have known it would be bad when I walk in and there is a sign displayed that reads something like "No refunds after you see the room".

Save your money! do not go here… this place doesnt even deserve 1 star. Stay away! take the time to read. Ok first this placed was booked in error. Within the first minute of booking I call and speak to "Hector" tell him to call the place who booked me they are in charge of refunds. Ok I called them up and they tell me I was marked as a no show by the hotel and because of it the first night gets charged. Im in the area and the first night is four big ones so I stop by to ask Hector why did he mark me a no show. He said as per his system thats all he can mark me as. "His system" there is no computer no fax machine no phone at front desk just Hector behind a wooded desk and a framed help desk number. I will get to that later on. I hope you guys understand Im being charged the fullest night because I was marked a no show by Hector and due to their own policy no shows get charged the first night. Crazy right. Im now debating just staying I need a place to stay anyway. He said come check it out its your money bots mine I dont care. First step in the condo the smell is like smoke, dirty luandry and a wet dog mixed all in one. The ceiling had 3 holes that just want plastered over. If I stretched my arms will go through the ceiling. Very small. I walk by 2 stained couches into the bathroom that light took 10 seconds to turn on then flickered. I didn't make it into the bedrooms I said no way. Thu place is disgusting.

Owner was pleasant but… The room was filthy and smelled like mold. When I say filthy, I mean me walked around with shoes on the entire time we were there and showered with flipflops… yuk! The couches were so dirty that I hope we don't come down with ringworm. I felt so bad, we couldn't even put my 9 month old down to crawl, I was really concerned for her health, and another issue was the lack of a receptacle cover in the living room where the baby would've crawled if I let her. We had no paper products or towels in the room and ants crawling all over the shelves in the kitchen. People sat at the table outside our "private room" smoking while we were trying to sleep, and on one occassion we had someone knock on our door at 140 am and woke the baby up while they were looking for the office, because the doors were so poorly labeled. I let the owner know what happened the following afternoon and didn't even get an appology?!? Outside the room, all you saw were garbage and cigarette butts all over the patio. I even swept outside the room one day after coming back from the beach and returned to more cigarette butts on the patio later that evening… I gave up! After this experiance I honestly don't even want to go back to Ocean City again.

This hotel is not what it used to be. Owned by new couple, room was DOUSED in bleach everything was litterally wet from it. Walls were old-about to collapse floor was uneven. No microwave, no shampoo, no soap, no cups, no NOTHING. Had 2 towels that were more like sandpaper and one had a hairball on it… barf. Owner was cheap and tried to scam us out of money… Go to King Charles Hotel same rates impeccable service and extraordinarily clean rooms! World of difference.

This is the absolute worst hotel I have ever set foot in. The bed sheet were filthy with stains and pubic hair on them. The smell was so sickning and the mold that blew out of the airconditioner made us sick. The shower was all rust extension cord lined the room. There were biting ants in the room. We did not end up even staying the night because there was NO way I could even lay on the sheets. I could say mor but I think you get the point.

Good quality for the price. Rooms are outdated and fairly bad quality. Location and deck is nice. Had a good time though.

I had a not great experience with this hotel and won't be staying again. Upon check in the owner was on the phone and wouldn't hang up until he was finished with his conversation to check us in, so we had to wait with our bags until he was through. Pros: -Close to Ocean/Boardwalk -Mostly Clean (And I'm finicky about that) -Updated electronics -Pillows were pretty comfy Cons: -The bed wasn't very good, the mattress was cheap -You had to put your keycard into the side unit to turn on the A/C… this saves energy and is a good idea but the A/C though new, was a window unit and right next to the bed :/ -A couple of ants found in the room -Astronomically small shower, couldn't even lift elbows all the way to shower and the shower constantly dripped -Towels were made for little people as in people under 4 feet I would have given this hotel a 3 except that the day we were to check out (Which is at 11 AM) the owner OPENED OUR DOOR at 9am and burst into our room waking us and then apologized and left… We forgot to lock it as we are used to hotels that automatically lock once you shut the door but regardless, we had the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign outside of our room. At 11 AM exactly he was outside of our room again to make sure we were leaving, bad manners to be sure. I wouldn't stay here again.

Off-site parking. Rundown rooms/hallways. Mattresses that feel like springboxes. Loose plumbing in the bathroom. A clogged shower head that barely dribbles out water (flow is ok if you remove the shower head). Small towels, less absorbent than my t-shirt. It'd make a nice setting for a spooky thriller film, but otherwise, its only merit is its one-block-from-the-beach location.

I went there and I did not want to come back. I had found terrible odors, half eaten food and more. I stayed with my family of 5 and we were exited to go. Laster on we were even happier to go back to new jersey. I also heard people having SEX.

I'm only giving this a 3 star because the staff was really polite and the TV was good. It had a flat screen. The bad was the price, there were 2 taxes plus room, the floor was not level. You could hear ALL the noise. Sounded like the windows were open and weren't. Had to park 2 blocks away. Only had double beds. Towels were not big enough to dry off with. Very out dated for the price we had to pay.

I've been going to the Surf Villa every summer for the last 8 years and I must say that I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Hector and his staff are super friendly and the accommodations (we take over the ground floor for a week) have been great. If your looking for a Hilton style atmosphere, go somewhere else, but, if your looking for down home, relaxing and comfortable and affordable place, this is it, hands down. A block from the beach, bus stop on Baltimore right across the street, Pickles right out the back door, my kind of place. As for the limited parking close to the building, I like parking my car two blocks away in a restricted lot because when I get there at the beginning of the week, I park the car and don't go near it until the end of the week when I start it to go home. Besides anyone that visits OC knows that parking anywhere in the summers is almost impossible so having a parking spot in a restricted lot is nice.

Thisvdoesnt deserve a rating. Doesnt fit the description at all from its page, and not worth the money. Your bathroom is in a closet, with a stall no bathtub. No room to do anything, parking is limited and is 2 streets away. And located on a busy street, and as im typing this right now I can hear people next door having sex, no quietness at all. Doesnt fit the description of a hotel either. Very dissatisfied with this place and wish I could get my money back but theres no refunds once you check-in, I wonder why that is, hmm maybe because you dont know what youre walking into and they know that.

Recently stayed here for Delmarva Bike Week and could not have asked for a more pleasant experience! Clean rooms and VERY friendly staff made us really feel at home. Rooms are a bit small including bathroom, but you must remember this is a structure that is nearly 100 years old. Great view of the ocean from the front porch and only 1 block from the beach! Cheapest hotel I found for the same week was nearly double?!? Ready to book again in the coming spring! Thanks.
