We tried to have dinner here tonight. We were the only customers in dining room at 4:30 & no one ever came to our table! Do not waste your time & money … lots of show but no customer service (3 employees were chitchatting at the hostess station as we sat there & waited)

Service was good but the inside needs a make over. Too many flies. Food wasn't spectacular. $17. For burger and fries.

Love it so far! Beautiful location. Great service. Amazing food and drink.

Not the greatest experience, my husband isnt a fan of the food, only came because we had a gift card, the service portion was lowsy from beginning to end, nice waitress but understaffed it seemed, unorganized seating and time even though we had reservations, potatoes are never good, our waitress seemed very forgetful of ours and other tables she was waiting on, atmosphere isnt fine dinning, slots and drunks took away from the mood, bathrooms were REALLY pretty though… we wont be back.

Just stayed here for a night with my girlfriend and I gotta say it was a 5 star experience. Very friendly staff and very accommodating when we asked for a room with a waterfront view. Will definitely be going back!

Had the thanksgiving carry out meal from Rod N Reel. It was amazing and far exceeded our expectations! So much amazing food for the price!

Had an excellent fishing trip with family and friends. Entire resort was awesome!

The staff was rude to start then I had an emergency and needed to leave after the fishing charter. I spoke with the checkout about refunding me my last night since we needed to leave and of course they couldn’t do anything about it. I guess they are tight on money and have to rob the customer of a free night so needless to say I won’t go back here again.

The location is key to this place! The parking is very limited, the drinks and food were a bit overpriced. However, the quality of the food and drinks were very good. We enjoyed listening to live music on the beach. What a great place that is only 40 miles from DC!

I love Chesapeake RodnReel Resort. It is a beautiful place, great food. Nice people.

I like going for the mini games. It's nearly impossible to win at regular bingo because of the machines and sheer amount of downloads they sell. The payouts are also pretty poor.

It was okay. The "New Year's Eve Party" so so — not sure it was worth the $40 someone else paid for my ticket.

Outside seating, amphitheater for live music. Big name bands come to this place. Food good drinks are pricey but the views are spectacular. Also they have an indoor food and slots. Charter fishing is also available (best rockfish charters anywhere)

Nice restaurant and hotel/spa. Attracts people from DC and surrounding areas. Parking lot too small and crowded gambling rooms inside. Music venue outside is nice.

I attended a work event at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our meeting room was very clean, with all necessary equipment working: pull down projection screen, projector, etc. The AC was loud, however, and very cold, but very necessary as it was in the high 90's. The hotel is set on the bay, with a restaurant (didn't go), seating by the water, attached marina, a small stage for concerts, boat and fishing equipment rental… I thought they offered a lot to do for a small resort. I didn't stay over, so I can't comment on the rooms.

We got married here in 2010. It was nice, food was nice but they double booked and so our ceremony was cut short and we never actually said "I do" because the other larger wedding party was staring at us. They then started using plastic throw away cups during our reception nearly halfway through because again, the bigger party used all the dinnerware. Finally, they told our dj to wrap up an hour prior to when we actually paid for. Its not like our wedding was very small. We had 125 people, but obviously we were not who they cared about, being that we also couldnt take pictures until it was nearly dark because the 200 person wedding took nearly till dusk. Also, to take our fotos, we got shoved off to the side on a finger pier. Now, back to our first trip back in half a decade. We stopped in last night as we were nearby and figured why not. Typically the Rod and Reel has pretty good food! They have really changed the place and I am guessing its because they were allowed to get mkre slot machines since Maryland changed the laws on gambling. They did close down the BBQ joint, Smokey Joes. We get seated by a window which was nice, but then realized there were a ton of flies. Not normal flies that fly around the water areas and outdoors, but the smaller sewage flies. Blech! After getting the menu, we realized the place double and tripled in price. They removed some stuff as well. NY strip is $40. Rockfish is $30. Crab Cake is $25. Appetizers were $8-15.

I grew up watching this place grow and become the resort it is today. It has come a long way. I went for food and it was pretty good. The price is a little higher than average, but you're also paying for ambiance I guess. The food was good, but I think it could have been a little better based on the price. Overall it was a good experience.

We visited Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa to attend a concert on the beach. It was an extremely hot day the but the mild breeze made it comfortable. Service and food were good. Will return again this summer to enjoy their concert series.

It was rod and reel restaraunt they had drain flies all over walls. And only refu ed 3 dollars from my meal of 140 dolars will never go back again or recomend to anyone!

Came for a wedding. Beautiful venue and delicious food. Service was good as well. We were in the Chesapeake room. It was confusing at first since there were multiple weddings, and there were no signs directing where to go… We had to guess. But overall wonderful experience and first time at the resort.

The grounds are nice, but the food and drinks at the outside bar is mediocre at best. Parking isn't great because guests share the lot with people who just come to gamble or eat at Rod n Reel. Everyone in my family of 6 complained that the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I would recommend getting a balcony because they are very nice and the view is beautiful. I was also disappointed with the fact that the only breakfast offered was a few bagels at the coffee station in the lobby. The worst part of my experience was that I had to have my room key re-magnetized 5 times over the weekend. They would fix my key and by the time I'd get up to my room, it wouldn't work. This happened several times. And it wasn't just my room. My cousin had the same problem. So I'm guessing it's a system-wide issue. It was incredibly annoying. Overall, it was a neat place to visit but I would prefer a reliable chain hotel with comfortable beds and decent continental breakfast.

This place is situated right on the water. It has a beautiful view and a bar and seating area on the beach. There was a band playing, they were just ok, not worth the $8 to get in though. The menu outside was lacking in variety and way overpriced. The drinks are overpriced as well. For the most part, the wait staff and bartenders were friendly. This place could have a lot of potential if it had the right people running it.

This is an amazing establishment and I would, and have, driven across state just to eat there. Restaurant manager Jenny is worth the trip alone. She is as pleasant as she is attending and bubbly. Go now. You won't be disappointed.

Chesapeake beach Do not trust these people with your credit card number. It is a real nice resort but they are liars to put it mildly. When we were leaving there I asked if there was anything else I owed and the man I talked to at the desk said no, I was paid in full. I agreed and we left on the 12 the of march. Now on April 11th we received our credit card bill with a $86 charge posted March 17th. I called the front desk to inquire why I was changed with this fee. After talking to two people I was told the charge was for the use of their tennis courts, bicycles, kayaks, pedalboard, free bottled water, and in room free local calls which I did not participate in or use any of these. The website says there is an $18 dollar fee a day for use of their facilities which includes the above. Give me a break, REALLY. One would assume they were charged for if you used them or were covered with the "rent". The main point is, If I am told I'm paid in full, how can they bill me a week later being as I'm paid in full! What am I missing Watch these people they will scam you!

I went there with very high expectations by seeing your website. But as always, web site is not the truth, visiting in person is reality. 1> The lady who reserved the room for me over the phone said there is a Free breakfast included in Rod and Reel Restaurant, but denied at the Front Desk. They said its Easter Weekend and cant give free. I paid $15 again. 2> The Tall white beard guy, he is so rude. His voice scares everyone, he is not a front desk candidate at all, he can be in Police department or FBI 3> Please teach your restaurant patrons to smile on customers and treat us kindly. They look as if I'm from Mars. Totally not comfortable at all. Esp, the old lady at the BAR.   4> Only nice person I saw is a security person go rounds in the car and spoke kind of British English, Best guy. 5> Also the day I came, it was not busy at all. Its early spring, I hardly see people there. No boats were moving. Wonder how it will be when its busy. 6> Highlight was AC noise. Woke up in the middle of the night, shut it down and lost sleep whole night. It's too old. I just vacated room next morning, was planned to extend more if it was good. Complained to the manager online.

I was at the hotel for a business conference. Service was great. There are a ton of outlets in the room, which I greatly appreciated. The restaurant is adequate. The bar has good service, but is full of people playing slots.

Love this place. This is the first place we went to eat when we got in to town. The good id absolutely wonderful, the service is outstanding, and the place is beautifully decorated. They also have a nice mini casino if you get a chance to enjoy it.

First rate rooms and bay view. Really appreciated the upgrade. Slept with the deck door open to the sound of lapping water. Fall is the time — an anniversary trip for us. Very short drive to boardwalk or beaches — and no crowd. The "casino" was a rather dreary disappointment, but that's not why we came.

I highly recommend this place! My family stayed over for three nights in February. Despite the heavy snow, we had a warm and comfortable stay. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Kim went above and beyond to help me get settled in a locker room when I had trouble, and voluntarily gave recommendations for sightseeing. Cleaning staff were absolutely pleasant, as well, and one young man brought out a bag to the parking lot that we had forgotten. Everyone who worked there was so pleasant. This is a beautiful, serene, and clean resort. We enjoyed the water view. I'm giving five stars despite dealing with a heater that blows in cold air (drafty window issue, probably) when the heater is not turned on. I guess the central heating system is not available because the building is old. We ended up having the heater on all night and that made the room very dry. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay.

We only stayed one night (in January) but everything we saw and experienced was very nice. The reception when we arrived was very pleasant and our room was clean and comfortable (on the fourth floor) had a nice view of the bay and shoreline. We had breakfast at the Rod and Reel (it was Buffet with cook to order eggs) and that was fine. The only negatives was the Tub/Shower was a bit dated and need some caulking and the beach was private access for the residents next to the facility. So to answer the question would be come back — absolutely.

We always enjoy our stays there. And always look forward to our next visit. The accommodations are great and the staff is wonderful. I'd definitely recommend Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa to anyone looking for a great place to relax and have a good time! I was born and lived in Maryland for most of my life. The Rod 'n Reel has always been a favorite place to eat. Now, I also love going to Smokey Joe's, where the food is good and Glenda, one of the servers, always makes our meal a fun and happy experience. Overall, I love it and plan to visit again.

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Chesapeake Beach Report and Spa on November 27th — 28th. We checked in and the room we thought we reserved was not the room we received. I called down and spoke with the general manager and she was extremely accommodating. I have not experienced such wonderful customer service. Probably ever. The room we received was much more In line with what we though we reserved and the view was magnificent. I love this hotel and am referring my friends, co-workers and family to stay there. Thank you Stacy for such a wonderful experience! P. S. I visited your resort for only one night as part of a November wedding party. I had a great time and would love to come back again during the warmer weather to really enjoy the outdoor bayside facilities. I had a great seafood platter in the Rod and Reel restaurant. I remember the Rod and Reel since I was a child, but it certainly looked different back then — I remember there were a few carnival rides out on the grounds, and a few slot machines inside. How things have changed.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick romantic get-a-way 8/25-8/27. Check in was quick and pleasant and so was check out. All of the inside staff that we encountered were extremely nice. The resort is small which is great if you do not like to walk long distances. The Boardwalk Café restaurant was a decent place to eat (our balcony looked over the restaurant on the third floor). The night that we dined, there wasn't any outdoor entertainment but if there were a show, most of the seating has prime views of the stage. Bonus tips: We received a coupon for the spa at check in and free cookies and water.

We stayed there for a wedding and loved the fact that we did no have to travel. However, the food service included very long waits. I think it was because the kitchen could service the wedding parties and the other resort guests. I do believe they could improve on respect during wedding services and restrict previous weddings from drinking on the wedding area (spilled beer) and impressing upon previous wedding photographers to leave ceremony area in proper time.
