Pleasantly surprised. Decent rooms, pool and breakfast. Nothing fancy. It's just the basics but its all well kept.

I enjoy this hotel so much. It is just as good as staying at the Hilton. The price is very affordable. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, there is a pool and a small store on site. There breakfast is decent. And the staff are helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

This a great place to stay. We were lucky enough that they had 2 rooms for us. Everyone was so helpful. They provided information about the surroundings. We were tired and they got us taken care quickly. I would highly recommend staying here for a one night stay. I wish I could of stayed longer. Now we are staying here on our way back home. This place is a blessing in disguise. I wish more hotels were like this — — Safe, comfortable, quiet, good treats, friendly, and great customer service. Great for family or for business.

Had reserved a standard room — and they were out of single bed rooms. Got upgraded once but they were still out, so they upgraded me to a suite. The girl behind the counter was very polite and helpful and I felt very comfortable there. I understand now why they were so booked, but definitely worth a reservation!

Really nice place for an really decent price. The staff was professional, pleasant and helpful! The place was clean and very nicely decorated. A really full delicious breakfast. This is a locally owned business. It was chain owned, and went under. Some local residents did not want to see this big, beautiful, facility go to ruin, so they invested an improved and have done a wonderful service!

Detailed staff. Rooms are well kept. Amenities are very good with gym, sauna, and pool. Breakfast bar has good variety. 200 dollar hold plus the 95 charge was a bit much. I'm short 200 just waiting. A 200 hold and the room cost so almost 300 I can't touch of my own money. I could accept a hold equivalent of the room charge but this is crazy. Still waiting on the 200 back-managed an overdraft fee with my bank and 2 late fees on other bills I can't pay without the 200. So, unfortunately I won't be staying again. However, the facility is nice and would encourage others with higher income to stay there out of all the locations in this town.

Googled this place while driving cross country and decided to try it based on the reviews. It is a terrific value for the money! Clean, quiet, and friendly efficient staff. The pool, hot tub, and sauna are great. And having the front desk control access to the pool area so that people's children are kept under control was a balm to this weary travelers jangled nerves. They even have decaf tea in the rooms, something I have never seen in a mid-price hotel. Happy hour popcorn, cookies and beer in the lobby. This is way better than the chain hotels in the same price bracket. I would be happy to stay here again.

This is a beautiful place to stay! Comfortable rooms and beautiful pool, hot tub and kiddie pool. Best of all free popcorn and beer at 7pm to 9. Loved the personalable friendly staff. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay, especially for that price!

Called the day before check in to see if we could check in about 230 instead of 3pm due to we had a wedding to attend and had to get ready. We had 3 rooms. One room was ready at 245 the other 2 weren't ready till 315.

It was clean, good service. The bed was not so comstable but was ok.

I've stayed at Fossil Creek Hotel several times now the rooms of always been top-notch clean excellent fresh the staff of always been nice always willing to do anything you needed done for example towels so extra coffee for the room. It was great. I'll stay there again and tell all my friends about it. Really enjoyed the place the hot tub was just awesome the beds were nice clean soft I had a great night sleep. The breakfast in the morning what they had waffles eggs sausage sausage and gravy orange juice cranberry juice apple juice coffee hot chocolate. It was just great everything about the place is wonderful plenty of parking. I recommend this place five-stars to anyone.

This place is one of the best hotels I've been to. It has a pool, sana, and hot tub, the rooms are cleaned daily and service is amazing. I think if you are thinking of a getaway then you should stay here and they have birthday parties. 5 stars!

This hotel a little less than a Hilton and a little more than a Comfort Inn. I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. But the soap in the shampoo were awful. And the rooms are getting a little outdated. The service was very friendly, and efficient. They have a store inside, they also advertise that they have a restaurant in a sports bar although I was not in it. I was charged about $110 for a double Queen the night. Other than the dresser space there was another table in the room and two comfortable chairs a mini fridge and a microwave. There are not much options for eating nearby you have a Pizza Hut across the street. They have a swimming pool and workout room and they also have laundry. The rooms are quiet you do not hear the interstate. They have a full breakfast bar and the food was pretty good. The only bad thing I really found was that the water taste awful. Hope this helps you. There is cable and free Wi-Fi and you do not need a password I found that refreshing.

Nice large, clean room. Pet friendly. Excellent free breakfast. Excellent eggs and waffles cooked up by a friendly vet.

I don’t leave reviews but this is the best place to stay. The hotel is clean from top to bottom very well kept. I’ll be back.

This was our first visit but will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Everything well kept and clean! The room was spacious with a nice sized bathroom. Beds were comfortable. There was a small table with 2 chairs, a micro & refrig. The breakfast was ample. Had a nice pool which we were too busy to enjoy. Easy off the interstate. Highly recommended!

Exceptional service and great people. Only thing bad was their iron board, it was dirty and was falling apart.

We had a really nice stay here. They're pet friendly, the staff was nice, and the hotel was very safe and clean. Passing by rooms that were vacant and being cleaned, you could tell the staff was doing a really good thorough job cleaning.

Very friendly staff very clean Hotel everything was working fine. I did not hear any noise from the highway and the sauna hot tub and pool was a nice bonus. And the food was great. I will be going back.

All the staff we encountered were so polite and personable. Due to unforseen weather we needed to extend our stay. They were very helpful and accomodating. The hotel is right off I-70 which was very convenient for us, as we were travelling that particular route. The breakfast in the lobby was very good. I would most certainly recommend this hotel.

We played at the pool. They have a nice indoor pool with separate, large hot tub and separate baby pool about 12x8 feet. Very nice facility for families. The breakfast area is nice also and I believe they have an omelet bar in the mornings.

I travel the country for a living. This place is awesome! Great staff great service it's just great! I will be back often for sure. I complain a lot. When I spend money I want my money's worth. There is absolutely nothing to complain about with this place. Do yourself a favor and spend a day or two here.

I would give no stars if I could. First, they screed up our reservation so we have to find somewhere else to stay the last half of our trip, and wouldn't do ANYTHING to make it right. Anything I find says it is a 2 star hotel. They say it is 3.5. There is no way it is 3.5. The bathroom is disgusting, the bed are sagging, and there is a lamp that keeps flickering like it will burn the place down. These are just the highlights. There are a host of other small problems with the cleanliness of the room. There is no way it is a 3.5 star with these issues. MAYBE a low 2, if being generous.

We were traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio back home to Los Angeles, CA. Everyone working there was very kind, polite and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and worth the price. They had plenty of snacks for purchase if needed and the breakfast was AWESOME with an omelet bar and make your own waffles, which was included in the price. We would definitely come stay again and recommend it to anyone traveling.

Overpriced, still having hidden charged to my account. Had to use two remotes to even get TV to work. AC was either way too cold or too hot thermostat not controlling it very well. Coundnt enjoy breakfast because of out of control kids and when finally getting a table most of the food was gone. I would recommend if driving through Russell Kansas to avoid this place entirely and try to find a reputable hotel.

I am in a king handicap with roll in shower on the 2nd floor. The bed is very comfortable as are the pillows. I bring lots of big items when we travel so our rooms we get need to be pretty spacious, and this room they've got us in this trip is very roomy. Great space for all my supply's like my electric chair, Walker, oxygen concentrator, back massager items. Stuff for my paralysis exercises etc… The motel staff are wonderful, everyone I've talked to or met have been so understanding to my needs. We've stayed at the motel before and because of the service we keep getting… that's what keeps bring us back when we have to travel through this town. Fossil Creek Hotel & Suites gets 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ from me.

Clean place clean rooms and the manager was wonderful and so helpful she will help u plan ur wedding, or birthday party, or shower whatever u have going on she will help you plan it! And all my events have turned out wonderful!

Called about an hour out from Russell, Ks. Made reservation without a problem. The room was large, clean and best of all had a recliner for my husband. Plenty of outlets for my devices, Wi-Fi was fast, refrigerator was quite. The breakfast bar was excellent, the chef was very entertaining. I encountered an issue which the day staff handled with grace. Definitely plan to stay here every time we go to Denver. Will look forward to stopping here.

This hotel is great! My husband and I were driving across the country and got stuck near here due to some inclement weather. Typically, I don't like to stay in hotels because I am paranoid about them being dirty or having bugs, but this hotel was exceptional. It was very clean and well kept. The front desk was so nice and accommodating for my husband, me, and our dog, especially on such short notice. The facilities were great and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling through here!

Great place to stay if you are tired of driving! Clean, great breakfast, friendly. Pool, hot tub, sauna, beer… I could keep going on. The only thing I would change is the short shower, we are 6'3 & 6'6 so we are user to that.

I had planned on staying in Hayes, KS but was having a hard time finding a room and decided to drive into Russell and find a room there. Fossil Creek was highly rated on Trip Advisor and they had a room available. I arrived after 10:00 p. M. And the young lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind. My room was nicely decorated and clean. The full complimentary breakfast, including an omelet bar, the next morning was excellent. Upon my checkout the hotel staff was very friendly and professional. I'm so glad I chose to stay at Fossil Creek and I will stay there each time I am in the area. Thank you Fossil Creek for a job well done!

Great place to stay! Comfortable bed, exceptional staff and delishous home made breakfast! B&G were yummy per another review but I'll try the custom omelet and fresh french toast next time. :) Room rate was $89 as listed. Resonable pet fee — $10 each up to 3 dogs.

We just stayed there in early July 2013 and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was very clean, staff very friendly, had a very nice lobby and pool area; and the absolutely best breakfast (included in room price) that one could expect — cook to order omlets, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, cereal, waffles, etc. I was amazed at all you got for the price I paid. Highly recommend.

So my husband and kids and I were stranded in Russell, KS during a blizzard recently. We were kicked off I-70 during the storm and my wife ran into the hotel to grab a room. We got the second to last room and we were given a suite but the owner gave us the standard room rate. He put out a spread for lunch for FREE for everybody who was stranded there. He tapped a keg and for dinner put out another spread for food for dinner. All at no cost. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and nicely set up. Flat screens in both our bedroom side and on the suite side for the kids. The pool was excellent and even had a baby pool along with the typical large pool and hot tub. The owner was attentive to every need we had as well as every other patron that night. All of the staff were friendly and attentive as well. If we ever need to stay in Russell again this is the place, no question about it. And, most importantly, they had great coffee at the breakfast buffet.
