Nice people with good quick service.

The owners here are rude and short with their customers. They refused me access to an empty room to look for an item that was left behind and supposedly not found by housekeeping. The attached restaurant has been lovingly run for years by an amazing local, but the building is falling apart as these owners refuse to fix anything.

Older motel, has some charm if you choose to see it. Very clean, good hot water. A bit expensive for what you get, but overall an acceptable stay.

This place used to be where we loved to stay. But they don't take care of the place anymore and it really needs to be renovated. The only positive thing I can say is that if you don't want to eat at Pizza hut the restaurant part has food but it isn't very good either.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Frontier Motel. My sister and I were there for three days, and it was a large, clean room that had everything I needed. The price was just right, and they allowed my small dogs without too much of an extra charge. The young woman who was working the counter was also helpful and friendly. It is an older motel, but that only added to the charm of it. It was conveniently located to where I was going in town, and the on-site restaurant provided excellent small town, home style breakfasts. I definitely recommend this motel.

Small hotel but clean, quaint and friendly. For the price, can't beat it. Had a pleasant experience here. The restaurant next door is also super friendly.

This expedia booking gave odd first impressions, but had everything I wanted for a quick evening stop. Cost about $20 less then my usual hotel bookings. The one bed space featured microfridge, bathtub with shower, two chairs plus a bench thing. The electric outlet beside the bed in room 24 didn't feature any sort of night stand under it. The random bench was moved to serve as a night stand and table as needed. I was uncomfortable going back to the office for the Wi-Fi password because of the note on the door saying ring twice to wake me to rent a room. The check in lady was really nice at check in, and I hated to wake her at 10pm so I skipped that. ( (Hint, find food before 9pm in this town! ) ) Saw an apartment through the open door at the back of the office the next morning so she really does man the desk 24 hours a day. 2 rings to wake her is not much to ask when she is polite at 8pm and 8 am. Little oddities hint at the staff doing the best they can while never being given a real budget. The rock garden just past the office was cute, and the two outdoor benches and outside chair by the motel building provided seating down by some of the other rooms, and spaced out so they seemed to belong even if they weren't beside every room. Would stay here again if needed, but not overtaking my preference to stay in North Platte when going via 83. To much effort for 4 stars, but 4.5 is not an option. Great job with location limitations.

Very clean, lots of amenties (mini fridge, desk, microwave), plenty of room, and friendly staff. Unexpectedly nice for a small town, older motel.

Horrible people. I simply asked if they had smoking rooms and he said no. Then when I started to pay with cash he mumbled something then told me he needed a security deposit. There wasn't anything posted about this policy and he wouldn't provide an explanation. This is a terrible way to do business. He obviously didn't trust me to not smoke in the room. I recommend you stay at the Oberlin Inn or move on to the next town.

Over the years, I've stayed at the Frontier Motel many, many, many times. No, it's not a Mariott or a Hilton or an Embassy Suites, but let's put things into proper perspective. Oberlin, KS is a long, long way from any metropolitan areas, large or small. For the money, you simply cannot beat the Frontier Motel unless you have a hankering to drive a lot more miles or stay much closer to the well beaten Interstate Higway System. Oberlin, KS is a charming town and the folks at the Frontier Motel do their dead-level best. It is clean and the rooms are neat and comfortable. My last room there had a working air conditioner, a refrigerator, cable TV, internet hook-up and the towels, sheets and room were cleaned daily. There is a very nice cafe adjacent to the office and the food is quite good. I travel a lot and have been a Marriott Platinum Rewards for years. I know when I am in NW Kansas, I will continue to stay at the Frontier Motel. There are not a lot of options in the immediate area. The Landmark Inn in downtown Oberlin is quite a fine place in absolutely every respect. I know both properties well. I highly recommend both, but just hate to see someone berate a perfectly nice motel that has very, very reasonable prices. Those who feel so strongly about the accomodations at the Frontier Motel shouldn't mind paying more for something more in keeping with their unreasonably high expectations.
