My husband and I pass through Idaho Falls several times a year on business (we play music), usually en route to Island Park, West Yellowstone, or other points North. We've probably stayed at Motel West ~10 times now and always enjoy it. Their rates are among the most reasonable in town. Their rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and they're located within easy access to the freeway. They also have microwaves and fridges in the rooms. What sold me on this place, though, was the indoor pool and jacuzzi. It's nice to be able to soak after a long drive, especially during the winter months! Motel West's nightly rate varies according to season, which is standard practice in this area; Idaho Falls is a popular "jumping off" point for people vacationing to Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons and Sun Valley, so expect summer rates to be higher. Rates also include complimentary breakfast, which we've only partaken of a couple of times. We like to go to Cedric's restaurant just down the street. Their scones are da bomb! The only issues I've ever had staying here have nothing to do with the staff or the property, it's more to do with other guests who stomp up the stairs in the middle of the night while yakking loudly, without regard to people who are trying to sleep. I guess good manners are going the way of the dodo. Still, we look forward to our next visit, which will probably be in November.

Great place to stay. Friendly and customer service oriented. Clean and updated. American owned. Highly recommend will stay here again for sure plus close to interstate 15

Quick check in, staff was right to the point and got us to our room quickly and gave us a map of the complex so we could get to our room and get some rest. It was quiet and had great amenities including a huge tub, fridge and microwave. Would stay again.

Motel West was an excellent cheap motel to stay at. Its very peaceful and quiet. Was locally located close to most stores and restaurants.

We stayed here one night and were pleasantly surprised. Our room had a kitchenette which was very useful, and the room seemed relatively clean. The hotel staff was nice and the breakfast was decent compared to a lot of other motel continental breakfasts. If I had any reason to go back through Idaho Falls, I might stay here again.

I mens its no Treasure Island but it gets the job done great. Decent price and the place was well taken care of. Nice staff. Would stay here again.

Nice clean room, had mini fridge and microwave. Very comfortable bed. Great customer service at front desk. Will definitely stay there again. Right off I-15 easy to find.

Not as advertised based on other reviews. Carpet Fresh overwhelms the room as if they were trying to mask smells. Tried to stick it out but was giving me a headache. Checked out and went to another hotel. In Motel West a Dog was barking next door in non animal room. Room itself was organized. No complaints on bathroom. Just fix the smell.

Wasn’t anything fancy but our room was CLEAN and smelt fresh. The bed was also comfortable. They have a Decent breakfast and friendly service. Would come again!

Very good Motel: fast reception, polite and efficient, very quiet place and especially a comfortable room, very clean and well equipped. Really good!

The service at check in was excellent. The home baked cookies were a nice touch. The room was clean and comfortable with good quality towels and amenities. I didn't get to try the pool. I'll be back.

We stayed Sunday night, April 24th on our way thru town to Salt Lake. This is not a luxury destination resort, by any means. However, for $65 (with tax) it served it's purpose. Old school motel but everything very clean. Looks like flooring and carpet in our wing was fairly new. Constructed of cinder blocks and cement, our 2nd floor Room was very quiet. Beds were firm and comfortable. Pool area was a little old, but the kid liked it and the water seemed to be treated properly. Not over chlorinated like some places. Breakfast was standard milk and cereal, scrambled eggs and various pastries. Easy access to I-15.

Enjoyed the cookies in the evening and pastries in the morning. Bed was comfortable. Shower nice and hot. Good for the price.

I was very surprised to find this place very clean and up to date, also came with breakfast. I was vey pleased.

It's definitely a low-star hotel. Nothing fancy about the joint at all. But the customer service is fantastic, and the breakfast is always wonderful.

Well I read the other reviews, so stayed here. I'll come again. It's older but who cares. It is very clean and well kept, roomy, quiet, new mattress, there's breakfast, and lots of parking! Better than other popular named hotels and great price. I didnt try the pool or hot tub. I was too tired.

The building is older but the motel makes up for it two-fold in cleanliness and interior decoration. The beds seem new and the interior of the room was the cleanest of any room I have stayed in. The room interior of a queen bed room was simple, tasteful, and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly.

I stayed here October 2017! This motel DESERVES 5 stars ALL around! Every aspect of it from it's cleanliness, comfort, amenities, customer service, & price out beats every other cheaper motel I've stayed in (Which is very often & ALL over the West Coast)! I can't think of ANYTHING that it needs to improve! Its got EVERYTHING that matters when you're traveling including price & I SURE hope NOTHING EVER changes! Even their continental Breakfast has cooked food like sausage & biscuits etc. I have to come to Idaho Falls every month for the next 12 months & I will definitely be staying here EVERY Time! I'd definitely recommend it to EVERY ONE traveling through!

This was a clean, affordable and quiet place to stay. The room was large and the beds were very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good, and they have additional seating should it get busy (which it did while we were there. ) Its close to both local and fast food chain food, Wal-Mart and grocery stores. Would definitely stat again, without a doubt.

A simple, unassuming, older motel with modest, and dated furnishings and decor, all maintained with evident care, and attention toward cleanliness. Comfortable bed, fluffy pillows piled upon generously, neatly covered by clean linens in impeccable condition, free of stains, &signs of wear. A simple continental breakfast is hosted in a dedicated sit-down style dining area on the main floor. We observed all items on offer remained available for the full 4 hour window between 6am, and 10am, more popular choices being efficiently restocked and refreshed as needed. The pool and jetted hot-tub were well-maintained, the water clear, and pH levels continually monitored by hotel staff. Staff were welcoming, personable, and professional. Questions were quite agreeably engaged on topics of current local events, and regional happenings. The Idaho Falls Motel West met or exceeded expectations in all areas without fail, and we can recommend Motel West with complete confidence. Hope this helps!

We went to Idaho Falls to view the Great Eclipse of 2017 and it was a perfect spot. The rooms were clean and spacious. The location off the freeway can't be beat. They even extended checkout to accommodate for the eclipse viewing. No complaints!

I gave it 3 stars because the staff was a great and the room was clean. It is standard cinder block construction but has been renovated. I can't speak for the other rooms but the years of nicotine smell from when they allowed smoking was strong. 3 days later I still have signs of a bloody nose. The staff would have moved me but they were completely booked.

Clean room. Bedding was clean and bed very comfortable. Bathroom area was very clean. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Was surprised at the great service because of price but it exceeded my expectations. Parking lot may have colorful characters there in the evenings but they seem harmless.

Very great food always love Grandpas Barbecue, the new location needs some more promotion.

We stopped in for a quick overnight and enjoyed our stay. Price was reasonable, bed was comfortable, Wi-Fi was fast, and holiest of holies — they have an indoor hot tub! Rates here also include breakfast, but we didn't partake of this because it looked a little heavy on the carbs, but understand they normally have hard-boiled eggs or scrambled eggs. We're coming through the area in another month and have already booked to stay here again.

Room was clean. Service was quick. Free breakfast. Personnel very friendly. It's a good place for a budget hotel.

Spacious room, everything is clean and actually has a pretty unique look. Plenty of parking close to all rooms. Decent Wi-Fi and free breakfast. Pretty good price @ $70 for a night. Only complaint is that it needs some more sound proofing. You can kind of hear everything around from inside the room.

This motel is located close to the highway, which is nice. There is a pool and hot tub, great for a soak after a long day. The pool is usually quite cold, and most of the rooms smell permanently like smoke, but it's an economic place to stay.

Quick trip but at a great price for and we loved the homemade biscuits and gravy.

Staff is quite friendly and genuinely kind. The room was very clean and spacious. The beds are comfy and they have decent pillows (most motel pillows are terrible). Perfect heating/cooling. The Wi-Fi is pretty good — I was able to stream Netflix with no problem. All of the little complaints I tend to have about hotels, none of them came up here. Close to many restaurants, gas stations, and stores. I plan to stay here each time I come back to Idaho Falls.

The bed… has memory foam and is so comfortable. They didnt cheap out on the toiletries. Mine has braille on the lids! I give this motel 5 stars because its perfect price and comfort! To the haters… go back to hotel rooms and leave the motels to the weary seasoned travellors who can appreciate.

The room was clean. I had a friend call the hotel and asked to be transfered to my room and the front desk said I was not staying at that hotel Wich I had just checked into earlier that day.

Great expectations. After a full day of travel we needed a nice comfy bed. We found that and more. Very clean rooms, friendly staff. Definitely would stay here again.

Check in was fast and friendly. Room was clean and mattress comfortable. The pool and hot tub were clean and temps were right. Good value for the price.

Big clean rooms with great air-con. Cheap guest laundry and, best of all, free gym access! Quick drive to downtown.

I wasn't too pleased with my stay at this motel this weekend. When I arrived, I had to listen to the front desk person complain to me about how she was tired of people calling her to make reservations and how she was tired of people checking in. When I asked about pets, they were fine with it at first but then suddenly had a problem with me having a dog and decided to charge me for the dog. The pool felt like ice and the hot tub was slightly warmer than the pool. On Sunday night, I had to deal with the front desk lady spying on my room claiming my dog was barking while I went to get something to eat. Caught her in the act on that one. To top it off, the cleaning lady refused to give me any towels on Monday claiming that towels were for new guests not holdovers and told me that if I wanted clean towels then I could go to the laundry and wash their towels myself. Needless to say for a pet friendly motel it was not a good experience. I will be taking my business elsewhere the next time I'm in town. On a positive note, I will say the inside of the room was quite decent.

I travel from Vegas to Hayden, ID, twice a year decided to try the Motel West this trip and was very surprised, the rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and they have a coffee pot in the room, a big plus. Also enjoyed the continental breakfast, for the price you can't get better.

I attended a Magic:The Gathering pre-release tournament here. We utilized the conference room and I was actually pretty surprised about the condition of the place. A few years ago it seemed that the managers/owners let the place go to the dogs but they seemed to have gotten it all cleaned up. The management was pleasant and the parking lot and property were clean. Most of the snow had been removed. For an older establishment in Idaho Falls, this place is clean and simple.

Clean, comfortable, decently priced. We arrived earlier than check in time. They went out of their way to get us into a room. Used laundry facilities and swimming pool. We were happy with our stay.

I authorized a one week stay for a family member. The Motel took it upon themselves to add charges for several more days. I called the Motel and all they had to say was tough. Do not deal with these dishonest people.

The buildings are older, but they are being renovated. My wife and I stayed in a newer room. It was cheap/affordable. Very clean and safe. The service was wonderful — we arrived late at night and the woman helping us was kind. We would highly recommend this place to travelers.
