I rarely write reviews but was so impressed with the East Bay Inn that I felt compelled. The hubby and I decided last minute to turn my Friday work trip into a much needed relaxing weekend. It was super easy to schedule last minute reservations. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in the door throughout our entire stay. The wine and cheese reception is a great touch and was a really nice opportunity to meet some other guests and enjoy some pleasant conversation in the very inviting lobby. The room was exactly what I was hoping for and surprisingly quiet. The old wooden floors were a bit creaky (which I love) the gigantic brick wall and antique wooden furniture brought back wonderful memories of staying at my grandparents as a kid. We were on the 3rd floor and enjoyed a nice quiet room but thought it was cute they leave complimentary ear plus in your room just in case. The nightly turn down service was a nice touch and we very much appreciated the ice bucket filled when we came back from a hot day of walking around town. My husband's favorite was the lemonade by the elevator on the 1st floor. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to walk around town and never get in your car. There were really too many wonderful things to list in one review. The only very minor complaint (and I wouldn't even consider it a complaint) is that one the 3rd floor the water temp can be a little fickle.

We stayed Memorial Day weekend. Drove back this morning. On top of the hotel being right across the street for River Street, the room was absolutely beautiful! The perfect starting place to walk around the city and the staff was so kind and inviting! Will definitely stay there again.

We selected this hotel because it is dog-friendly and had mostly good reviews. Unfortunately, our room was filthy and run-down. There was visible dried dog pee on the wall (see photo attached) which is disgusting! Housekeeping or maintenance for the hotel should have noticed it and cleaned it. Dogs sometimes have accidents but it should be cleaned up. Our dog had no accidents at the hotel (we keep in a kennel when not there to watch the dog). The bathroom was extremely worn-out and in desperate need of renovation. Walls and trim were banged up and needed painting. The combination of no curtains over the French doors and mini blinds over the doors that did not fully twist closed and were damaged meant a LOT of light came in all night from the very bright street lights. This made it hard to sleep. The positives were the room was large, the staff were all very nice, the location is good — walking distance to many historic attractions, and the lobby is very pretty. But because of the run-down, filthy room we could not wait to check out. For the price, we were surprised at the condition of the room. Hopefully, they renovate/redecorate the room soon.

Such a great place to stay. It's in the heart of everything. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel good. Very rustic decor. Very unique. The rooms are very clean. I would highly recommend it.

Staff was INCREDIBLY friendly upon our very early arrival and even accommodated is hours before check in time. They gave us helpful information gladly and were extremely caring at all times! Beautiful rooms! Historic and lovely.

This was such a beautiful building. Jennifer, Hank, and the rest of the staff was more than accommodating and so hospitable. The establishment was pet friendly and they even give a pet care package. The wine/cheese reception was wonderful and breakfast was delicious. True southern hospitality. My husband and I know where we will be staying when we come to Savannah again!

Great experience at the East Bay. Would be superb if other guest would learn how to close doors rather than slam. Beautiful room with exposed brick wall. Bed is comfortable but not to die for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Conventiently located to walk anywhere in historic district… even for my 90 year old Dad!

I loved this hotel! It is adorable, the staff is incredibly friendly, and it's in a great location! But, be aware that this inn is an old building so the floor boards creek. There was a little bit of noise when we were trying to sleep. I fall asleep easily and am a deep sleeper so the noise didn't bother me, but a light sleeper could have trouble. The hotel provides complementary eat plugs.

Awesome place to stay an convenient to everything. Lovely rooms with comfortable bedding. Awesome staff, we will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to savannah.

Great place. If you are looking for a ultra modern, and sterile looking place you may skip for Hilton's or others. But if you love old buildings and pretty good location. Give them a try. Bit more attentiveness to maintenance of some aspects may be in order and room a bit under lit. But clean and nice staff.

Once again we had a wonderful stay at this excellent hotel. The front desk staff, the housekeeping folks, the bartender folks for the wine and cheese reception, and the buffet breakfast coordinator were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel now charges for their breakfast, but the food was great and there were many things to choose from. My only issue was the removal of the large coffee urn that was located just off the lobby. It was there for years and you could get a cup of coffee anytime of the day or night and had delicious flavored creamers available. The hotel now has coffee makers in the rooms, but you must move them to find a place to plug them in, and no flavored creamers. As I told many of the staff members during our stay, it was not a big enough issue for us to want to consider a different hotel during our trips to Savannah, but it was a small disappointment in an otherwise perfect stay. We’ll be back (and we hope the coffee urn will be as well)!

Can’t wait to return! Great hotel, the bed and pillows were comfy! Loved the quaint BnB feel of the place. Location was wonderful for walking, plus they were all so friendly and welcoming to our furry babies! Can’t wait to visit again!

Amazing Inn! Beautiful location, beautiful accommodations, and at a very reasonable price. Staff was amazing. Scott met us that night amaze the desk was very personable and great manners. The room was outstanding with great decor and bed slept like a dream. The old building with a touch of class made it perfect. Parking was great. Checked out with an infant that needed to feed, so they let us stay parked while he fed and then walked around for a while since he can't ride right after eating. I would highly recommend this location as it was and is the best place I have stayed in a very long time.

Stayed here for a night while on a business trip… got there in time to enjoy a lovely complimentary wine and cheese reception hosted by the very sweet staff. Then I got to my room and was incredibly pleased that my room looked exactly like the pictures I saw online. Just stunning. The staff is great, the location couldn't be better, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

If I could live here I would! Extremely friendly staff, beautiful large rooms. We even had our own private little brick patio! Wine and cheese from 5 till 7… and directly across the street from the river and shops! Perfect in every way!

We spent one night there with two small dogs. Awesome service, super nice staff, very knowledgeable of the pet friendly restaurants and such. We had issues in the morning with our car and they helped us with that. Will come again. Oh and the complementary wine and snacks before dinner, so nice. The historical building is quite beautiful, well decorated. The beds were very comfortable. Nothing wrong to say about it.

Cozy in. Rooms are spacious and have lots of character. Expect the floor to squeak but you won't hear your neighbor. Always have coffee available and the happy hour is great with free wine and snacks.

Had a great experience! The room was beautiful, the location was perfect and was within walking distance of all the main attractions in historic Savannah. The staff was really friendly. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

Great room. Tall ceilings and huge beds. Great mix of old and new. Daily wine social and breakfast buffet. Free bottled water, lemonade and coffee. Everyone is very nice. Very close to Rubber Street and the historic district. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff, central location, great deal, nothing bad to say. We did not take part in the breakfast that's included but I've heard it's an upscale version of continental.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was quite tasty-great homemade biscuits and gravy among other good things. It was nice to find ice in the ice bucket in our room at night along with the turn down service. This hotel is cozy, comfortable, and convenient.

We loved our stay at East Bay Inn. The rooms are so charming. It feels like a beautiful guest room in a grand southern home. Staff is exceptionally friendly and the location is great.

My stay at the, "East Bay Inn, " was beyond compare. Ms. Sheila and Mr. Melvin were not only helpful but most delightful. My room was exqusite, the service exemplary. I stayed in, "Charlie's, " room however he did not visit! I highly recommend this gem of Savannah.

We stayed the weekend. You cannot beat the central location to the RIver/City Market. For the price, we felt like the East Bay Inn had much more character and charm than the cookie cutter hotels. Friendly, informative staff that were attentive. The discounted parking, free bottle water/coffee/breakfast/Wi-Fi/Wine-Cheese all added to the value. We will stay here again on our next trip through Savannah.

East Bay is a fantastic place but it's located directly on the main strip so it can get noisy. The people are nice and the rooms actually have a pretty modern feel. If there is a drawback, it's the fact that it's a little further down from restaurants and shopping but it's close to the river and all the happenings on river street so that helps.

Very nice. Stayed 4 nights. Treated like family by all the staff. Shiela at the desk was like a friendly neighbor. Melvin the Bellman was a lot of fun and very nice. Will stay here again if I come back to Savannah.

Excellent location near the river in the historic district. Beautifully decorated lobby and rooms. Room on 2nd floor had overhead noise that was mysterious-sounded like renovations, maybe ghosts?!? Breakfast included was convenient, very basic. Loved the happy hr each evening. Staff interesting to chat to. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the East Bay Inn for our honeymoon and had a great time. We loved the historic feel and great location. Make sure you take advantage of the complementary breakfast and cocktail hour.

My husband and I booked a room here on a whim last week and stayed for one night over Veteran's Day weekend. I had read a few negative reviews on here about noise and bathroom sizes and what not and started to get a little weary of what we were getting into. When we got into town, we already started to feel excited as the inn was above the river walk. I was under the impression we would have a view of the historic district, but to our surprise we got a view of the river. It was a fantastic room! The inn itself is amazing. Beautiful decor reminiscent of the time period it was built. We were surprised the place was as packed as it was. They actually ran out of city parking permits but they told us to come in first thing in the am and they'd get more because the parking enforcement doesn't come by till 8 when they ticket and we were checking out early. We got that taken care of first thing in the morning and it worked out great. The wine and cheese reception in the evening was great, but because the inn had a full house that night we had to wait for them to wash more glasses for our wine. Plus we got there kind of late. The selection of snacks included little mini sandwiches, cheeses, nuts, veggies and dip, fudge and crackers plus a Chardonnay or Merlot selection.

Upgraded to a superior suite with no charge. The room was out of this world. The staff was very helpful and the complementary breakfast and wine in the afternoons was a very nice surprise. If you want to stay in historic Savannah, stay here.
