It's decent enough. Only about 15 minutes away from downtown Tampa and it is in a fairly populated area. The room itself is adequate and the beds comfortable but it does feel a little cramped. Being an outdoor accessible hotel also means that we hear a lot of cars coming and going as well as any trucks that need to do their jobs around the area. The breakfast is small and mostly prepackaged but that could be due to the fact that there is an iHop next store.

Very nice desk person and efficient check in. Our room want as clean as I am used to, but I did see minor spots and more wiping could have been done. Otherwise it was pretty clean and need was fine. Air conditioner was a bit closer to the bed than I am used to but it was fine cause I adjusted settings in the middle the night. The room was recently updated and big enough and bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was adequate for grab and go.

Friendly staff who offered snacks and info on local activities. Right across from the International Mall. Clean, spacious room that is worth well beyond what you pay for. Perfect for a one or two night stay.

Staff were cheerful and helpful. Room was spotless and comfortable. Wide variety of resturaunts within walking distance.

Outdoor entry into rooms, no elevator, AC couldn't cool the room adequately, coffee maker and iron both leaked, and shower pull didn't work. My business associate had to change rooms due to roaches in her room the first night. Airport flights begin landing at 530 a. M. Daily. Other than that, room was fine.

Very old property. Leaky faucet in bathtub ran all night. Noisy air conditioner. Noisy fridge. Basic cold breakfast. Non smoking room reeks of smoke. Excellent location near airport. Friendly staff.

Nice and clean. Not far from the airport and close to the International Mall. R right next door to the Ihop. I have family that stayed here. They liked it. They staff is very nice.

Average hotel with a good breakfast, some rooms that require to get access to upstairs are a bit of a walk where stairs are not available at the back of the building. Rooms were clean, beds are good comfortable but if you book for 2 beds there full sized not queens, so if your a larger person than you may not be able to sleep together however, King beds are available too, the pool was there but in March not many use it. We stayed there because it's close to the airport for easy access to catch a flight or just a place to spend the night.

Near the airport, it has a swimming pool.

This is a MOTEL not a Hotel. The room doors are facing outside, you walk through darkened corridors. Seemed very unsafe at night with characters hanging out in front of the motel rooms. NO Elevators so if you are assigned to the second floor, you're out of luck. The bottom floor has it's issues too. Since the rooms face the parking spots everyone and anyone that pulls up with their headlights on and locks their door with their key fob beeping — will keep you up at night. 2 Outlets in the entire room, one of the outlets had an extension cord with so many plugs in it, it seemed like a fire hazard. I would not recommend staying here.

So check in took forever, charged for the wrong reservation and am hoping that is actually fixed. Am currently in the room. Bed is ok but my room absolutely smells of cigarettes. I call into the front desk and they offer to come spray the room. I told them no as that would probably make the smell worse. Then 15 minutes later there is a knock at my door and the front desk person is there to spray after I told her no, so I had to get out of bed and get dressed. I clarified that my room is smoke free and they said yes but my room is terrible and giving me a headache. When I asked what can be done about it I was just told the manager comes in at 8 and can be dealt with then, after I check out and am on a flight. Needless to say this has inspired me to never stay here or any other la Quinta again. I normally only write good reviews but this place makes me want to warn others. Edit: so this is after sleeping there, sill flying. The curtains do not do a good job at all keeping the light out, and there is a light RIGHT outside of most doors. So between the smell of smoke and a light filled room I did not sleep well.

Had to wait around an hour for shuttle to pick us up at airport. Front desk was was the least engaging and least friendly service I have ever received at a hotel. I had to walk around the hotel twice because the front desk did not even give me the courtesy of explaining where my room was — 228, it's above 128. Room was a joke, I am happy that I was only there for a few hours. We travel quite often and can't believe there aren't better options in the area for almost $200 a night.

Very nice hotel. Staff were friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean. It's in a great location for food as well. Plenty of restaurants and take out options available. All within walking distance of the hotel. Beds were super comfy as well.

First room didn't smell good kinda like dirty socks. Second room was better. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was a joke empty slow refilling and small no place to sit. Usually like staying at this chain. But was disappointed. Maybe we just picked a bad day to stay.

Never going here again. Seriously need a staff overhaul. Not sure if it was just the woman I interacted with or what, but she was the worst person I’ve ever experienced in customer service. I was told beforehand to call the front desk upon landing at the airport and they would send the shuttle. I called. I called 5 times and the phone just kept ringing and ringing. Finally when I called and received the initial menu, I decided maybe the person for reservations could help so I called them and a woman, very nice, tried calling on her end. She told me they picked up, didn’t greet her or anything, and put her on hold. Told me to try again, I did and FINALLY was answered. I told the woman at the front desk about my difficulties reaching her and she just said ‘yeah. We’re busy. ’ Extremely rude. Eventually got the shuttle (who also complained about me and the other woman who needed to get picked up). At the front desk, woman continued to be rude. Never apologized for her lack of service. Then proceeded to put me in the room allllll the way at the back, as if she was trying to punish me for daring to expect human decency. As someone who worked in customer service for years, my bar for people is pretty low. This La Quinta was far below. Don’t bother with them. (Room was clean but the toilet wouldn’t stop running very noisily)

Horrible experience at the airport shuttle. Literally took 45 minutes before the driver showed up. I don’t know if he was napping or what, but we called the hotel three times and each time were told the driver would be there within five minutes. Hilarious… The rooms were about what you would expect from a dingy motel. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. The only good thing I have to say is that it is close to the restaurant next-door, which had very good pancakes. After staying here I swore I would never stayed another La Quinta again. Fortunately the property near the Atlanta airport (north) is much nicer than this dive. I’ll make it simple, don’t come here unless you want a horrible experience, and a comparable night’s sleep.

If you are looking for a place to stay that is comfortable and inviting? Well then, this place is not for you. When you call to make reservation they seem to be nice and when you get here it is another thing. They claim to be friendly to evacuees from Puerto Rico and that too is a lie. To all that need to stay at a hotel for FEMA purposes. Don't stay here go somewhere else. Evacuees are people too and lots of them had great jobs and beautiful homes, that unfortunately are gone. If it were the other way around and you had to come to the island, we would have been respect and helpful. I have never had such horrible service. The rooms are some what decent if you are lucky you won't have a pot head staying in the room next to you, stinking up the air you and your children are trying to breathe (stuff travels through the vents) Also when in the lobby a elderly lady had made two reservations and was told that she couldn't park in a certain area and that she would have to walk to the other building with her luggage when they lady expressed that she should have been told when she called to make the reservation, she was told they don't do that.

There were bed bugs that I brought home to Minnesota and I still have them 8 months later. I feel like I should have gotten a refund or discount on the second room, but I didn't. They had a small Continental breakfast and they won't tell you the shuttle hours unless you ask. The only reason I chose this hotel is because it close to the airport and I actually made my flight on time.

The staff was very nice, the room and bathroom were very clean, very comfortable bed, shower had great water pressure, plenty of over sized towels, A/C kept the room nice and cool, came with Wi-Fi, continental breakfast and coffee in the room. Will definitely stay here again!

Room was neat but the odor left a bit to br desired. The bed was awesome and I got a great night's sleep.

Room is very outdated. I recently stayed in a LaQuinta in Los Angeles and that one was much nicer. The shower curtain reminds me of something out of the 70's. The hair dryer is very weak and took me twice as long to dry my hair, and I have short hair. Just seemed very outdated for the price I was paying. All in all not a bad experience bit have seen much better!

The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff was wonderful! Even though we stayed there during hurricane Irma they couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. They even continued breakfast every day and we never lost power. It was difficult to find somewhere to go that would accept our dogs when we were told to evacuate our home. We were so lucky to find rooms there. I would highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area, good weather or hurricane!

They took us in during the evacuation for hurricane Irma. Took in our dog. Their facilities are very nice and spacious including a desk with chairs, beds, bathroom, and coffee maker as well as a TV with cable and even a 6 drawer dresser. The beds are comfy, their service, even during a hurricane, was courteous and friendly and they were always willing to help. Check in was easy. Reserving rooms was easy… 5 stars all the way around.

My room is HUGE! Fridge and microwave. Amazing double sink counter. Desk with plenty of outlets. The bed felt better than my own. A. C. Will make that room nice and cold quickly. I was extremely pleased. They are also pet friendly! Bonus: walking to ihop for that hangover food.

This is a run down hotel and can be seen that it hasn't kept with the times for at least 20 years the carpet smelled the room decor was awful. The only good aspect was the location near the airport. The AC unit kept buzzing and there were a lot of bugs inside small ants and roaches. Since the carpet is dark brown it was hard to see the where you were stepping. You could smell the mildew in the room. Definitely would never recommend to stay at this la Quinta neither with kids or alone. Look out somewhere else.

We flew into Tampa late at night. We pre planned this hotel due to it proximity to the hotel, price, reviews, and reputation. The checkout time was late enough that we didn't feel rushed (noon). There is an IHOP next door if the complimentary breakfast at the hotel isn't sufficient, or if you sleep past it.

Clean and good attention, initially they gave us a room without a refrigerator, but we ask for change and did not give it.

Couldn't even set a reservation. Called and was disconnected several times and then called the front desk and the lady was extremely rude and put me on hold and left me on hold until it finally disconnected me. I called her back 2 times and they didn't answer and on the 3rd time she answered and told me she couldn't help me and that I needed to call the reservation number. I will never stay here. I can't believe they were so rude.

Quick check-in and easy to get to from car rental place and airport. A/C barely worked but room was in pretty good shape. Lots of rust issues in bathroom (pretty much all metal surfaces). On-site IHOP that we were told we got a discount at by staying at La Quinta. When we asked desk person how we proved to restaurant we stayed, she didn't know anything about it (but admitted she was new). Very nice IHOP, but didn't know anything about La Quinta advertised discount; restaurant GM took picture of our print out to discuss with hotel.

The hotel is pet friendly but has nowhere to walk dogs or special landfills to dispose of feces. There was no minibar in the room.

The place is seriously overpriced and rundown. My room stinks like an an old hooker holding an ashtray. Oddly I had to initial twice indicating I wouldn't smoke. Maybe they should have tried that with the 10000 smokers who were there before me. It's just barely this side of a fleabag hotel. I'm here because of a cancelled flight and I would never stay in this dump ever again. It would probably be more sanitary to sleep on the floor in the airport terminal. After talking to the front desk I got moved to an actual nonsmoking room without an ashtray on the table. I have back one star for trying to help. This room just smells like old socks instead.

I wasn't impressed with this place at all. It was pretty worn down. The only thing that was nice was the proximity to the airport.

Worst I have ever stayed in in many years of traveling. Paid 100 for 12 hours because I came in a night early before my 4 day reservation. Could not park anywhere on the lot. Had to park at a restaurant and walk to the very back of complex. Found out they charge to allow people to park while they fly. One clerk said cars would be gone the next day, one said they will be there all week. Room was not how they portray. Dirty, outdated small with very few amenities. Bathroom was disgusting. Went to the breakfast and everything was out so we couldn't even eat. Called receptionist who was very rude about the situation so we cancelled the rest of the stays and found a better place for cheaper. Will never stay with this chain or any associates again and will never recommend! Stay away.

Great location, very convenient to those stuck at airport/in town for couple days. Entire staff very helpful. Conner at front desk was outstanding at check in. Took time to hand write directions for my husband and I to some seafood restartaunts in the area. Loved the pool at this location, breakfast could be better 9/10

Very helpful and friendly staff, comfortable beds. The hotel is very close distance from Tampa airport.

I stayed here on Sept. 6 prior to taking a week long trip and was able to leave my car and take a shuttle to and from the airport (at a fabulous price — a great perk). When I returned I had a slight problem connecting with the shuttle at the airport and a lovely woman at the front desk quickly worked that out. When I arrived to pick up my car I could not unlock it; and John, the manager, came out and helped me get it unlocked, but we found the battery was dead (I apparently left the trunk slightly open! ). John immediately got his own car, parked next to me, and used his jumper cables to get the car started! Before I left he suggested several places to have the car checked to make sure I got home (100 miles away). I was totally happy with my stay here and especially with all the staff — a fabulous group!

I would give zero stars, but not an option. Was given a room way in back adjacent from Enterprise rental car yard. That was our view, very noisy at night and very unsafe feeling for a mother and child traveling. Unhelpful, uncaring staff. Rooms are outdated and filthy. No amenities. Breakfast ends at 9am?!?! Ihop on premises has rudest staff I've ever encountered. Food vending machines out of order entire 3 day stay. Business center doesn't even have working printer! I'm an Elite member who has spent over $11, 000 within La Quinta hotels. I'm ashamed to have spent a single dime here… never mind the close to $100 nightly charge I paid for small, dank, room. Stay elsewhere! I will NEVER stay again!

For the price, this is exactly what you're looking for. Location is convenient to the airport, and the local mall. Staff is friendly, ample parking, and room is clean. Did not have a chance to check out their free breakfast. Free Wi-Fi is on point.

Great stay. Awesome room, friendly staff. This is an older hotel, but updated and comfortable. Excellent shops, restaurants and a mall very close by. We would stay there again.

Id like to give it less than a star. This place was horrible. Our room was disgusting, I had to throw away my dogs treats after they touched the floor due to the amount of hair and dirt. There was a thick layer of filth on the headboard and the bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months. When we tried to bring this up with the front desk they were rude and unhelpful. I will never be staying in a La Quinta again for as long as I live. I recommend literally any other hotel.

Stayed one night, happy with the room stayed at many hotel's. Ihop up front of the the hotel. Need a room to stay the night nothing seems wrong here.

Clean comfortable and affordable. Stayed two nights and took in the Tampa aquarium. Must do/see. The manager was great. My wife smokes and is disabled. He got us a great room. Booked over cell phone driving down the highway from New Orleans.

Check in was quick and easy. Had choice of room. Extra for frige and mirco. But one in lobby. Close to airport. Will comment at end of stay.

I spent the night there after re-deploying back. I didnt want to drive after a 13 hour flight so I stayed there upon arrival. The bathrooms in the double bed rooms are too small and the room had a moldy feel to it. When I say that I mean it smelled and felt like mold in the room. It will do the trick for a night but not too comfortable.

I am currently staying here for the week with my husband while he gets some things done at MacDill AFB. The one thing I will say deserves 3-4 stars is the price. For the price, most of what you are getting is worth what you are paying. The room is large and clean. Its a bit dated, and you can tell they've had to work to update/renovate these rooms, but it definitely could be worse. My disappointments consist of the following: when we checked in my husband said he'd prefer to be in a room that has a mini-fridge. The girl who was helping him said she would try to get us into one. Then she proceeded and said, "would you like a room on the second or first floor? " We ended up with a 2nd floor room, but we found we didn't have a mini-fridge. Might not seem like a big deal to you, but if you ask for something specific (whatever it is), you should be notified if there are none available with that specific thing you asked for before you decide on which room. And I am 95% sure that at any given time this place is about half-occupied. Breakfast is sub-par. Also: there are no laundry facilities, which I find this odd and annoying. Most hotels I have stayed in (nice or not) have some sort of laundry facility. Overall, its not awful, but definitely not the Marriott or Hilton. Its good for the price you are probably paying. I just have to remind myself that we're staying here to save a bit of money for the week.
